ICU Help
Hey there, can you offer me some advice on how to make the Clannad article better? I will this isn't a very good article, but I am trying to (slowly) improve it. I understand why you would put an ICU tag on the page but since the tag is kinda vague, I would be greatly pleased if you can get more into detail about how to fix this article. Thanks!--Speedyexpress48 00:44, August 25, 2011 (UTC)
- Until I checked, I thought this was about the Irish band called Clannad. Perhaps if you mixed that with the Japanese visual novel, you may come up with something. Otherwise it looks like fan fiction. Just an idea. --RomArtus*Imperator ® (Orate) 09:17, August 25, 2011 (UTC)
- Aye, I'd think about what your overall concept is - what's the main joke of the piece? Perhaps saying it's an Irish band would do it, or something else. If you tie everything else into that, whatever the joke is or winds up being, and support it with things folks might recognise from the actual thing, the overall should come across a lot stronger. Making individual funnies may also prove a fair bit easier given a more concrete central idea, for that matter.
- Mind, most of us aren't familiar with the thing, so you will want to take that into consideration as well. If you want more detail, I'll have to point you to the Pee Review for lack of time to do so myself; they may even go more in-depth than you care for, though unfortunately the wait time on that has gotten a little bad of late, apparently. ~ 13:16, 25 August 2011

That time your mom wasn't nearly fucked by Joe Biden during her sojourn in the kitchen last night
Did you notice that it was a hybrid of two inside jokes or something!! --Mn-z 21:02, August 31, 2011 (UTC)
- That doesn't make it funny. All it seemed to do was make it make even less sense than either of the so-called in-jokes. On that note, if you do want to improve it, making it actually make sense might be a good start. ~ 21:05, 31 August 2011

FFW tag on This Guy and That Guy
The tag was removed by a user with 3 edits without any discussion. I believe FFW deletions were still going on when I added them. (I missed the FFW tag removal because I have 10,761 articles on my watch list.) Therefore, I think the restoration should be valid. However, I don't hate either of those two articles enough to crusade against them. --Mn-z 02:43, September 1, 2011 (UTC)
- That's unfortunate that the tags were removed by a random users, but that doesn't mean you should put it back after the period has ended, either - the tags are no longer checked and maintained after that, but having one on a page, it still says what it says and that already led to one new user mistaking it for legitimate, which it no longer was. If this sort of thing happens, please, think things through - take the article to VFD, or perhaps to an unscrupulous admin directly on IRC. The usual routes still exist and work, so please just use those, instead of something that doesn't exactly exist anymore and thus isn't current checked. ~ 12:29, 1 September 2011
Subliminal stimuli
What were you trying to do, exactly? Because on my send it just looked like you hovered the words "You saw nothing, carry on" over the whole of the page. Please explain. Thanks. -- 03:14, September 2, 2011 (UTC)
- Might I suggest looking at the source? It's set up like Disguise in that I basically just copied that and slapped it on yours and changed the values. What you moused over was an image, but over the text, instead of instead of the text. I did slow it down a mite so folks would be more able to actually read the text (and also so it'd be more subliminal and less like the what not to do section), but Socky already verified that the image itself does work, so I'm not sure why you didn't see it. If you'd rather just replace the text with something nobody can edit, however, go right ahead. It's your article. ~ 03:23, 2 September 2011
- No, I like what you did better, the image just isn't working on my end. I'll change it back. -- 03:36, September 2, 2011 (UTC)
- Butbut I want to be cranky at you. *bursts into tears and runs away, flailing* ~ 03:46, 2 September 2011

Hey, request
So I'm wondering if you could ban User:Aimsplode (think that's his name) for like a week or so, because he keeps attacking Shabidoo with verbal insults on that summer contest thing Shabidoo was hosting and he's even begun attacking Mattsnow and pretty much everyone else in that contest. I've warned him already about being aggressive against others, specifically against Shabidoo, and I believe he's been banned for doing this before, so if possible, could you ban him again for a little bit longer than last time? He's really asking for it at this point.
Also, I'll be setting up the contest for pee week something next week. I'll let you know when I finish setting it up, which should be soon assuming I don't realize that this place is a waste of effort before then. --Sir Oliphaunte (განხილვა) 22:39, September 2, 2011 (UTC)
- Bugger, he's been doing that again? Yeesh... yeah, I'll give it a lonkers, no problem.
- I forgot to tell you about this, didn't I? Anyhoo, it's all yours, man. Although now I need to figure out where I left a taco so my damn page titles will start rendering again... they all say taco. Taco! TACO! ~ 23:08, 2 September 2011

What is drama? To ban or not to ban Mnbvcxz? — 04:37, September 3, 2011 (UTC)
- Drama is complaining and/or whoring about subjects that really have no purpose but to have votes, and someone always ends up getting banned. -- PLEB SIR Lollipop (TALK) - updated on 3 September 2011, at 04:39
- I think mainly whoring. — 04:43, September 3, 2011 (UTC)

What I want?
I want less drama. Is all.
15:32, 3 September 2011- Most of us want that (and those who don't tend not to bear mentioning), but while a nice thing to say, what does it actually mean? What solutions might there be? Mon, please, be more specific. To what are you referring to? What do you want from me?
- From what I understand, bringing up specific issues was something you used to do from time to time before, as well, and in at least some cases provided convincing enough arguments that the other folks did change what they were doing. You were a user talking to admins and to other users and you opened others to changing their ways without any additional user rights, simply by communicating. Now they want you to change some of your ways, and to communicate; is a 'okay, sure, I'll try not to do that in the future' too much to ask for from you, especially from some of the very same people of whom you used to ask much the same?
- You mentioned compromise somewhere. Compromise involves concessions from all parties. ~ 16:43, 3 September 2011
- I think banning Mnbvcxz the way you did will lead to more drama and, seeing as I prefer less drama, I disapprove of it. However, seeing as this whole dramathon started over me reverting another admin, I'll leave the ban alone. And I'd gladly say "okay, sure, I'll try not to do that in the future" if someone can make the effort of pointing out an issue without adding needless accusations of all sorts.
- Oh, I left a message on his talkpage that should make it more clear. But the guy was making more drama and being a dick to boot; if he keeps doing so, he will simply be banned longer, and probably by someone better at making sensible reasons.
- And the accusations, mon, those are issues... even if something seems fine to you, if it seems a problem to other people, then perhaps it is a problem to them, and seeing as this place is made up of its people... well, there was a logical conclusion in here somewhere. Basically, you need to respect folks, actually communicate with them, and if they are bothered by something, show some basic courtesy and stop doing it. ~ 16:57, 3 September 2011

H1. this is XXstalinatorXx
I was writing a page on czechloswissadoniastan and it has been deleted due to it being unfinished and not working on it. I was told to talk to you if I wanted a copy of it back. My plan is to keep it off of uncyclopedia until it is finished. So if I could get a copy of it, that would be much appreciated.
P.S. I am new to this website so you can remove this but just contact me about the page anyway.
thank you.
- Heya, I'd be happy to restore a copy for you, but you'll need to provide a direct link to the deleted page, as I can't seem to find it. No worries about being new, though, you'll get the hang of things. Like signing your posts - good that you said who you are, but more effective is to use your signature, signing with four tildes (~~~~) - that way it includes a link to your userpage and dates it. And whatnot. ~ 06:39, 4 September 2011

It is apparently de rigueur to spam a user's talk page with templates, if that user has voted for your article on VFH, or has other-services render'd. As you have apparently done something of this sort, here is your reward: a plain, black box with white lettering, thanking you in a generic fashion for what you have done.

I have a great many excuses. As of late it's due mostly to lack of practice and I did that last review after a long night of hard video gaming. Review of algorithm
First of all - thank you for taking the time to read through and comment on the good and bad points. I agree with what you have said and it has certainly given me some ideas on the direction I need to take with the article. I think, for a start I will remove the Al Gore section and add it as a footnote instead (a casual aside at the end). I'll also add more info directly related to algorithms. Shall I delete my stories (and Izbeenoneweek's) from the RecentUnNews template? It's clear they're not welcome there.

- I don't see any reason to take down at least the first one or two, but I'd need a chance to read them all more thoroughly before I say anything concrete about the rest of them. I should be able to get back to you before the morrow, though. ~ 16:40, 12 September 2011
Hey again!
You haven`t seen me for a while, or what? Well that`s gonna be fixed. Ain`t that wonderful? We`ll be having a great time!
But, anyway. As your best friend 4ever, and because I can`t trust to anyone in these days, I wanted to ask, that can I attack to other people`s userpages if the person wrote the article is, ya know, dead. I`m meaning this article. Because Uncyclopedia currently lacks on the article Impossible, I made it to my mission of life to change that. The problem is, that I don`t wanna get in troubles without asking permission to get in problems, and so, well, I get here to remember old good friend o` mine. And what do you mean by that "I have better friends than you"-comment, ha? OMG!!! It`s Cat the Colourful, Jesus Christ!!! 13:48 15 September 2011

- That said, if you want to use someone else's thing, just... I dunno; there are several ways you could go about it. I guess just make a copy in your own userspace or whatnot and credit the fellow in the edit summary? Or something. Userspace is weird, like it's sacred or something. I wasn't aware I had friends. I'm confused. ~ 22:49, 15 September 2011

I hope I don't end up deleting half the page from existence... It's been a while since I used this site! But let me congratulate you into being the first person I talked to durning my little visit back to this "glorious" site.
HOWEVER. You voted against my FIRST article. Howto: Catch a Grue. For that, I shall never forgive you.
Good riddance!... Or not... I'll probably be waiting for a reply. --~~

I see the 'O.C.' has been given an infinite ban by Olipro. You mentioned this was the same user who had been causing issues on Wikipedia. Do you have a link so I can see that particular forum?? Thanks. --RomArtus*Imperator ® (Orate) 11:11, September 16, 2011 (UTC)
- I did? I don't recall that. If I did, I should like a link to see it as well, as that would be an interesting connection. >.<
- Looking at its enwiki contributions, though, it has only made one (visible) edit there, which could tie it some to ED, but nothing beyond that. ~ 16:31, 16 September 2011
- Ok thanks Lyrithya. OC did appear to be a sock or troll with requests to remove images and such like. Does
An editorial qualify as an UnNews? I was about to move it back to his userspace, but I guess a second opinion would be nice: Shit That Pisses Me Off - Universal fucks up Halloween II Blu-ray. I'll be online tonight ( in like 4 hours) Mattsnow 20:11, September 19, 2011 (UTC)
- Rar, why won't the title link work? Anyway, here it is: [1]
I'll check the other 2 tonight Mattsnow 20:16, September 19, 2011 (UTC)
- He was using a title template. The real title is UnNews:Universal removes Moustapha Akkad credit from Halloween II Blu-ray. I personally dislike PF4Eva's Shit That Pisses Me Off series and find his choice of "shit" to be pissed off by rather peculiar, but this one doesn't look like a particularly bad one (compared to some other pages in that category) and we have other stuff of a similar nature in UnNewsspace. 20:19, 19 September 2011
- Namespace, eh? What, you mean there are more UnNews? Although editorials are allowed and stuff, they need to be decent like anything else. I don't actually want to look, though, since the STPMO ones tend to be bloody ugly, to boot. ~ 20:21, 19 September 2011
- Bleah. Also, would it kill you to make a new comment instead of appending to one that was sort of replied to already? *shifty eyes* ~ 20:49, 19 September 2011
- It was meant as one comment, though. I just got edit conflicted in the process.
- Oh. Does this mean I can't use it as an excuse to kill you, after all? ~ 21:15, 19 September 2011
- What you use or don't use as an excuse to kill me is completely up to you. 21:17, 19 September 2011

Just wanted to show my appreciation for you polishing the article I wrote up whilst I was away today, looks great now! Not much I can offer except my thanks, and I hope you enjoyed the article! --Writey 19:06, September 20, 2011 (UTC)
- Mmm, 'sa decent one. Didn't wind up as an UnNews feature just because I had no idea how to feature that, but certainly a worthy read. Just be sure to make the things read like news - storytelling is certainly fine, but in a written form like UnNews, the stories are generally told after the fact. Even then there be formats, but those aren't necessary... helpful and generally best to stick to them, but not necessary. Cheers. ~ 22:52, 20 September 2011
Lyrithya
Im trying to find how the Hentai article was put up for QVFD...is this a new policy that established writers have articles submitted to QVFD!?!?!?!?!!? I don't seem to get it. I also noticed you put the ICU back. This article does not lack humour, it needs cleaning up and polishing. It was unpleasant to say the least to see that the ICU tag was put back up again. --ShabiDOO 22:26, September 20, 2011 (UTC)
- And what are you talking about that image not being satirical. Could you please explain me how that image was not satirical? --ShabiDOO 22:30, September 20, 2011 (UTC)
- Folks'll put all sorts of things up for qvfd, although I'll agree that that article hardly qualified for that. The ICU, on the other hand... mon, it just wasn't funny. Gross would be a word for it, more like, and the image especially so. How was that satirical? ~ 22:55, 20 September 2011
- The article was funny. Using the image itself was not satirical, it was the text around the image that was satirical, but the whole article has to be read to get it. Anyways...did you huff the image? If so could you please restore it? --ShabiDOO 10:08, September 21, 2011 (UTC)
- I actually agree with Shabidoo here. He and I are going to make it worthy of mainspace, but it really needs the image in order to work. As long as it has the NSFW template on it, all should be right with the world, eh? Please? What if I offered you a cheesecake? -- 12:46 September 21, 2011 (UTC)
- From what I understand and what the text indicates, the image was just an example - you could replace it with any hentai image, say, one that doesn't have everything so very... visible. That's just not necessary, and likewise not something most of us would care to look at, NSFW or otherwise. Perhaps one of better visual quality in general would also help justify the son's reaction to it, for that matter. ~ 16:35, 21 September 2011
- Lyrithya this image breaks no rule, there is a warning template and there is a very good reason why I chose that image. I don't appreciate having an admin tell me "what is necessary" in my own article. I am really surprised that you of all people would delete an image from an article just because you don't like it. - Uncyclopedia:Image use policy, actually. Now please either provide an actual reason why you want that one in particular or stop arguing. ~ 23:02, 21 September 2011
- Lyrithya, Im not arguing...I think you are stretching your admin stick a little far this time. Please tell me...have you read the whole article and have you noticed that two other admins who have read the article support the use of the image? --ShabiDOO 23:41, September 21, 2011 (UTC)
- All right everybody, time out. I'm sure there's a way we can make everybody happy here. This article needs an image, but Lyrithya has a point. Shabidoo is correct in saying the image needs to illustrate what the text is describing, but Lyrithya is right that most of our audience should be able to use their imaginations. What if we just put some black censoring bars over the offending naughty bits, then use a caption that says something like "You didn't really want to see this. What's that, you did? Oh well, too late now!" I think that's a good compromise, and it may actually keep us out of some sort of legal trouble. -- 00:49 September 22, 2011 (UTC)
- Shabidoo, enough. I'm not joking around here, and the rules do apply to you as well as anyone else. Read Wikia's terms of use and kindly stop bothering me; meantime the fox has some ideas, so perhaps those might be worth heeding.
- I must ask, however... which admins do you say supported that image? ~ 02:35, 22 September 2011
- Lyrithya...asking you if you had actually read the article is a fair question...and you still haven't answered it. Somehow...asking you a simple question before having to explain why I wrote my article and what it means is...bugging you! Like...shoo shabidoo...you are an irritating house fly and I have better things to do. You first justified removing the image because its not referenced. Once it was pointed out that...yes, it is relevant to the article, you then changed your mind and claimed that it breaks policy. However, when reading the article, the whole article, its clear that it is not there for shocks sake but an important part of the article. Its also clear you read only the last part...which is what you called "disgusting" and is only 20% of the article as you only detail that part and seemed to have completely missed the first two sections about art itself, father and son interaction and the epiphany about the difference between the real world and the world of art and telivision. One of the central themes of the story is the father figures mistrust of women, and he tries to reveal to his son that you can only be sure that a woman is being honest to you about sex...when she has an orgasm of epic quality...which the image shows. You would notice that if you had read the whole article. Both Socky and EMC had no problem about it...Zombiebaron put an ICU on the article put said nothing about the image...Chief Justice moved it to my main space and said nothing about the image...and if you look at the article history...you will see how Socky reverted your edit removing the image and giving a reason for keeping the image there (its there in the history). You seem to think I'm joking around here Lyrithya, but Im not. I don't want to place an image like that for shocks sake and Fox's suggestion is a good one in terms of the TEXT of the article but doesn't address the lack of an actual Hentai image...which is absurd. You haven't answered any of my own questions like...have you read the whole article? or how that image is not referenced in the article? and you've put all of the onus on me to defend how I write and why I choose certain images...when you haven't even declared if you have read the whole thing or not. Its not there for shock sake...it illustrates what the father talks about throughout the whole article...not to mention the fact that the article is ABOUT Hentai which are explicit sexual images. What reader on earth would click on a Hentai link on uncyclopedia and NOT expect to see one. I'm not asking for exception to the rules...I don't think you are fairly administering the rules. --ShabiDOO 19:33, September 22, 2011 (UTC)
- Mon, it doesn't matter whether I've read the article or not, what actually goes on in it, or, so I find, how relevant any of it was. I never changed my mind regarding policy; I did, however, become more aware of what the policy actually was, and it is something that really should be followed. That said, for future reference, folks saying nothing about something does not necessarily mean they support it, Socky is not exactly a shining example of following policy in the first place, and I didn't make any of this up. ~ 22:37, 22 September 2011

- Lyrithya this image breaks no rule, there is a warning template and there is a very good reason why I chose that image. I don't appreciate having an admin tell me "what is necessary" in my own article. I am really surprised that you of all people would delete an image from an article just because you don't like it. This is my voice...please respect it. --ShabiDOO 22:52, September 21, 2011 (UTC)
- The article was funny. Using the image itself was not satirical, it was the text around the image that was satirical, but the whole article has to be read to get it. Anyways...did you huff the image? If so could you please restore it? --ShabiDOO 10:08, September 21, 2011 (UTC)

Hello me spry elf
And a good to drop by this wee glen again. You are to be commended for diligence and high praised for rabid tenacity. A favor to ask of thee: Since I only drop by here once a week, can you put up the forum when TKF hits 40 features (he's close, oh so close). The "tradition" is to label the forum something like "TKF Gets 40th feature, Yay!!!" and start it off with a large pic of a cake. Not just any cake, but a unique and fun cake. And if anyone can start it off with a unique and fun cake, and then go on from there to make it the best 40th celebration page yet, you can! Thanks, that would be the bees knees. Aleister 17:48 21-9-'11

onions
Wrote some more on the train to work. Haven't checked my emails yet to see if you've responded in any way, but I will update you tonight and maybe create the article onsite (as well as the other I've been working on). I was thinking if you haven't got any ideas for text you could provide some amazing images. Also, why are you a judge for best illustrated? Did you mean to sign up as a contender? Flamingo out, in and out again. --Black Flamingo 13:41, September 22, 2011 (UTC)
- Well, I can certainly try... something I was a little concerned about at this point was the congruency, though. 'The first day'? Seems more like an ending than a beginning, if we're to wind up killing one or both. Can she be a zombie? Or an alien? I like aliens.
- Bugger, but my time this week (and next, for that matter) is depressingly lacking; I probably won't be able to get anything else done for this PLS (if I even manage to contribute any to this thing). So while I didn't explicitly sign up for judging best illustrated (I just said 'whatever' and Chief put me there), it's not likely to matter much. ~ 14:19, 22 September 2011
- I don't really see how zombies or aliens would fit in with the overall thing... but still, we can try. I was thinking of doing it over three days. I don't really know where I'm going... something unseen is dragging me along. Insomnia, perhaps. I'm writing more for it now. --Black Flamingo 19:50, September 22, 2011 (UTC)
- Okay, okay, fine. No aliens or zombies. Vampire? Oh, so... three days after he finally gets the nerve to go for it? Seeing as he's evidently been watching her for awhile already... or has he? He didn't follow her home the first time, did he? ~ 22:39, 22 September 2011
- Uh, for the most part I have no idea what you're talking about! In the "first day" section he does follow her home, yes. I guess he's going to kill her on the third day but that hasn't been written yet (spoilers). As to whether he's been watching her awhile... I don't know... is that important? If you do want to enter best illustrated I'll happily switch my judge placement with you. Chief is a kind man; firm but fair. Oh, so firm. --Black Flamingo 23:05, September 22, 2011 (UTC)
- Well, I mean... given what it says at the begin... blah, what have you got so far? It'd be better if I could just stab that. And no, no time for that, believe me. Plus I'm terrible at it. ~ 23:24, 22 September 2011
- Oh yeah, I forgot about that. I tend not to read my own articles very clearly, or look in mirrors (for the same reason). I don't really have anything to be honest. I'll pass you the onion; now run with it! --Black Flamingo 23:31, September 22, 2011 (UTC)
- I really don't know what to do... >.< Bugger, and I don't really have any time until next weekend. This entire PLS just came at a really bad time for me... but I will get some images done for it, at very least. I'll do that much. And a maybe a thorough thwacking. Yesh. Unless you want to get someone else to do it. You still could, you know. ~ 01:46, 25 September 2011
- Yeah, just whatever you can do would be great... images, grammar, prose-fixing, incongruity-fixing, formatting - you're great at all that stuff. Don't worry if you can't do anything right now, I can wait until we're married; I won't go elsewhere for satisfaction. --Black Flamingo 20:05, September 26, 2011 (UTC)
- I'll do that. I hope. This weekend keeps getting more and more full of things to do. >.< Although this is important. Certainly more important than that chain vanquish I keep forgetting to pick up the quests for... ~ 15:57, 28 September 2011

UnNews
I think you could give me the links to the templates for the UnNews page, I think I can take care of it if you want, just explain briefly if there are any subtleties. If you absolutely want to do it, fine, but since I always check UnNews, may as well do that too... mon. Oh and I saw you were not kidding, 11 Pee Reviews... I won't challenge your lead, good job! I'm starting to understand their importance a lot more. Feel free to do one of mines one of these days, I think I got like 4 Pee Reviews since I am here. I just put an UnNews on Pee that I enjoyed writing. Just saying. Not suggesting anything. I think it would be an easy one to review. Just saying. The person that will pick it up is probably going to be happy for the rest of his/HER life. Just saying! Mattsnow 13:09, September 24, 2011 (UTC)
- Err, this kind of relates to Mr Snows post. I tried to change the UnNews templates seeing as it's been a few days since they were last done and our little journo's have been busy for once, but it didn't work for some reason. I noticed the main page news section is always updated but the templates remain stagnant. I know what I did worked because it came up in the recent changes thing and I've done it before without problems. So, my question is, have the templates changed name or become out of bounds for smelly freaks like myself? If so, why? Where can I find a nice pair of shoes? You know, some shiny ones with the nice trims and the aglets that dont fall off whenever I chew them.I understand and I wish to continue. . 14:48, September 24, 2011 (UTC)
- I update the main page template, Undies, thanks for trying to update the page. I think Lyrithya, being evil as always, changed something about those templates. Mattsnow 22:23, September 24, 2011 (UTC)
- Yeah, she replaced the lead article templates with just one big one. I'm not sure how it all works yet, so I reverted it for now. 23:51, 24 September 2011
- Forget what I said about the review, Lyrithya, I took it off Pee since I may be putting it on PLS and reviews are not allowed. Mattsnow 01:42, September 25, 2011 (UTC)

- Did I say 11? Sorry, I can't count. I meant nine. Yes. Not that I'll be able to review anything else for awhile, anyway, but if after the PLS you want a review, I'll actually have some more time then.
- And Socky, you idiot, just because you don't understand something doesn't mean you should revert it, especially when you're not even someone who deals with the thing itself. With separate templates, there's no quick way to move old ones down the page; this just merges them to make things faster. All the formatting is the same besides that it's all on one, though, so anyone who's used the old ones should be able to use this.
- That said, thank you for your vigilance, you two... but could you please try to be a little more discriminating when putting things on the templates? Some articles may not suck enough to userspace, but they often still rather suck and really aren't worth advertising. Just a thought. ~ 01:55, 25 September 2011
- Two people who were trying to maintain UnNews were incapacitated by you replacing the usual templates with a new one without giving any apparent explanation. So I did what seemed most logical and reverted back to the old templates for the time being so the UnNews front page would show the updated lead articles and not the old ones. I also left a message on your talkpage to alert you to the fact I'd reverted you so you could restore your new template to the UnNews front page and update the lead articles on your new template, simultaneously exemplifying how the template works. Could you point out to me at what point I was handling this situation incorrectly? 09:48, 25 September 2011
- Also, the new all-in-one template looks uglier than the original way of doing things, for some reason.
- Regarding the UnNews you retouched, you should have seen what it was like before I quickly corrected the obvious typos and added a pic. I did not put it on the FP template, so what do you expect me to do? I admit I thought about userspacing it, but I tried to salvage it a bit instead. If that particular user does it again, I'll let him know. I'll hit him with a frying pan and some soiled undies borrowed from the fetichist guy! :D Mattsnow 10:13, September 25, 2011 (UTC)
- But you missed some typos. There were still typos left. o_O But I was more referring to the lead articles, but I was actually just seeing the old stuff as a result of Socky reverting it all, so... uh, carry on? And Socky, I'm not necessarily saying it shouldn't be reverted if those maintaining it would rather use the other setup, but leave it up to them. Not being able to find something does not equate to that something being horrible. It may well be, but that's another matter. Although quite frankly, more people editing this thing is not better. It's only ever gone smoothly when one person did it, far as I can tell... ~ 16:32, 25 September 2011

More crap
On another note, I recently downloaded an "app' off iTunes called Uncyclopedic. It has menu options that link to the current feature template plus the main page news template. At first, I didn't really give two hoots about it, mainly because it took four hours to load and secondly, footy finals are on. However, it has come to my attention that it's a free download that's supported by advertisements. I was just curious if this contravined the creative commons license, mainly because someone is making money off other people's intellectual property. I'm also under the belief that under the CC, the original writer may profit from CC released writings if a certain cause is claimed in any particular edit which could potentially make the app a copywrite infringement. I'd like to point out that I'm not seeking money or anything. I just think it's kind of wrong that some random egg head could be potentially profiting from shit other people have been writing and releasing under the CC license, considering any revenue could go towards google adds or whatever to improve the site traffic. But I digress, about those shoes... I understand and I wish to continue. . 14:48, September 24, 2011 (UTC)
- Eh, technically that does seem to be fine - the app is for viewing the stuff that is there, not for... well, I dunno. But supporting such things with ads is normal. ED was supported by ads, Uncyclopedia used to have ads... it's the container, not the content, or something. You could try asking sannse, though; she tends to be more familiar with the legal stuff than most of us. ~ 02:46, 25 September 2011

This
What the hell?
08:05, 29 September 2011- I was asked to continue adding links by a consortium of irritated admins for however long you continue to do annoying stuff for no apparent reason. It's just... like you're bringing up all these little crusades, not for the sake of changing anything, but just for the sake of crusading - things that are established rules for good reason, or things that were done to avoid drama, or things that were already voted on, or things that you were already asked, and when that didn't work, ganged up on by a pile of admins and told, to stop... but there's no or else, so of course you don't, apparently. Hence why some people are so annoyed with you. Even when you say you will stop with something you often don't, just wait awhile and come back to it, and not only is it annoying, it's downright counterproductive. I was under the impression you were opped so you could help out, not so you could get in the way of other admins trying to help out, but that's what it's seeming like - with added invulnerability because we would never deop an admin; it's never been done.
- On the other hand, you could just stop bringing up trivial issues for no apparent reason and then arguing over them like they're life-and-death situations, or even more irritatingly, bringing up trivial issues with some sort of accusation or insult and then not backing them up at all... please? ~ 16:02, 1 October 2011
- Wow. Just, wow. Clearly nothing I say would convince you that you're blowing this way out of proportion and you're completely misunderstanding my intentions. So, yeah, I guess discussing this with you is pointless. 18:14, 1 October 2011
- The nebulous "consortium" again? Lyrithia, you're just plain vindictive - which is why you and TKF get along so well. I see lots of other things in what you write, choice of words, actions, self validations, etc. I have criticized you, TKF and Frosty over the drama fest known as deopping socky and the results speak for themselves.--
- Though I appreciate you sticking up for me, I'd honestly prefer not to dig up the drama from where it was deservingly buried (beneath a huge pile of butt poop). If Lyrithya wishes to discuss the issue with me, she's free to come to my talkpage, hopefully with a little bit less animosity. Until then, I'm going to avoid discussing this any further in hopes of preventing even further drama. So, this is the last message I'll post in this section. See you folks some place else, maybe. 19:02, 1 October 2011
- DrStrange, you see what you want to see, as do we all. Now we could fling vague accusations at each other, draw swords and bare teeth, but you of all people should know it would achieve nothing.
- And Socky, your intentions really don't matter - I believe you that you probably do mean well, but the end result is the same either way - time is wasted and frustrations with you increase. The diffs I've left pointers to are the sort causing issue, regardless of what was actually meant by them. I'm asking you to consider perhaps not why you're doing what you're doing, but how it comes across. ~ 19:06, 1 October 2011
- Instead of being the leader of an unseen consortium of disaffected admins, ever try writing an article? That's what this place is for. Like I've said before, I'm a middle aged man with a lot of experience in all volunteer creative outlets. This isn't my first pony ride - this isn't about sticking up for Socky anymore. I've met people who've done lots of good works and only torpedoed themselves with "personal" biases and visions of a community centered around personal peeves instead of being a part of the community. You definitely can't accuse somebody of not dropping a resolved issue anymore, that's for sure.--
- If you must know, my use of the word 'consortium' was a feeble attempt at making a HHGG reference. ~ 21:36, 1 October 2011
- Maybe you could find a fresh, comedic angle on HHGG and write something! I'm toying with tossing something together for "best illustrated" since we currently have 3 stubs. Australian rules foosball maybe? Make a table with chopped in pics of babies on one side and dingoes on the other? Alas, might be too late - assuming it's a tough chop. I could always make American football players carrying and kicking cats......-- 21:54, October 1, 2011 (UTC)

A new sig, a crappy new life
So I made a new signature out of old bits and pieces. And you know what? I just want to check with you that it's OK, or not OK, before the whole of Uncyclopedia explodes, or this happens again. --EpicAwesomeness (talk) 16:15, September 30, 2011 (UTC)
- It seems to be fine from a rules standpoint, though I'm not entirely sure... Wikia may have actually broken that workaround, or may yet if they haven't, so I'd... er, keep an eye on it, if I were you. You may also want to change the font tag to use a span instead, but that's a less pressing issue and will probably attract someone to forcibly change it for you eventually anyway, if you leave it long enough. ~ 16:06, 1 October 2011

Could you leave me a short message when you move an UnNews? Had I not see the move log for the last one, I would have left a link that leads to a huffed page on the frontpage. Beslan
Hi! I notice you added Beslan Circus to the ICU. Why do you believe it is not funny?
I thought of the idea of rewriting the terrorist as "circus performers" because I had seen a documentary which compared acts of terrorism to a "performance" meant to make an effect on the audience (in this case, Russia) - And I wanted to lampoon the terrorists as being ridiculous.
In particular I think the bits like "the terrorists wore very colorful outfits to appeal to children" when it's obvious that the outfits aren't colorful at all -- I think that's funny.
What do you think would make it more funny? I'm open to suggestions :) Vzvartnots 10:20, October 9, 2011 (UTC)
- I think this article is kinda funny. Altough the Gallery-part is more a Wikia-kind of part, as many Wikias have galleries, and Uncyclopedia is a parody of Wikipedia. If you`d made the article more longer, and put the images again on different places. My opinions. OMG!!! It`s Cat the Colourful, Jesus Christ!!! 10:41 9 October 2011
- Well, it's a doable approach, but it still comes across as quite serious, which doesn't really work... something like this should seem like a joke to at least a majority of folks, even if other ones still fail to get it. ~ 00:41, 10 October 2011
- Hmm.. I've tried to make some of the jokes more obvious, and things a bit more absurd. What ways would you suggest for me to make it more joke-like? Also I moved some images out of the gallery too. Thanks, Vzvartnots 07:31, October 10, 2011 (UTC)
- I don't know; I never was any good with jokes, myself, but you could try getting a review... another thing to work on would be the formatting and organisation of the content, though - the introduction is so short it doesn't really introduce much, and giving the depth of the subject, it probably should... and the rest could probably be broken into some other sections as well. And whatnot. I swapped the ICU for a fix so you can keep working on it without it getting deleted so easily, though, so... yeah. Gods, I'm so hungry... ~ 13:33, 10 October 2011
- Thank you for the advice!

It's deleted, but it's still in the site notice. Why? -- 00:23, October 10, 2011 (UTC)

- They must be spammers. They've appeared on aSK and possibly in another incarnation at ?Media. Surely they cannot be actual accounts.--Colonel Sanders 03:05, October 10, 2011 (UTC)
- Aye, legitimate users wouldn't be likely to do that anyway, but what do you propose I do about them, really? Just block them all as they make accounts? But they don't gain anything from having older accounts that they couldn't from new ones; autoconfirmed status is immediate. Go poke Seppy for a checkuser or something; maybe there's a commonality in the origins, and seeing as creation from the same IP is throttled, it seems like that could be an explanation for this, though probably not. I'unno. ~ 13:26, 10 October 2011

Trivial, pointless question which is just a waste of your time.
Hello. I run all my browsers without Javascript, and this is the result on Uncyclopedia pages which use the {{nologo}} or {{logo}} templates, such as yours:
This trivial thing annoys me all to fuck. Apparently, using {{logo}} inserts the substitute inside the body of the article, whose z-index is below that of the logo. A simple fix would seem to be to adjust the main site CSS, so that the z-index of the logo/sidebar is less than that of the article-body <div>.
Perhaps even simpler: is there a way for a template to force the HTML nodes which it inserts to be outside the article-body <div> (let's say, as a direct child-node of the <body> element)? That way, its z-index would actually mean something in the context of the whole page, instead of just the article body. ~ Mon, Oct 10 '11 11:22 (UTC)
- I see you're not familiar with Wikia. Welcome to Wikia, Bizzeebeever. Sorry. Can't. Can't adjust the html, can't do anything about the existing monobook.css save for override every single line with another line, can't change the fact that the elements are in different parent divs and thus anything in one is still inferior to anything in another... although in this case, that may actually be a good thing; makes it much harder for idiots to cover up the navigation with stupid crap.
- That said, this javascript solution shouldn't be necessary at all; the software is perfectly capable of replacing the logo at render-time with a hook made specifically for that. The problem? Wikia never enabled it. ~ 13:21, 10 October 2011
- Gosh, so that's why I get that FOSC (flash of styled content) that looks like Wikpedia's old skin. ~ Mon, Oct 10 '11 22:52 (UTC)
- That's because it is Wikipedia's old skin. Wikia refused to just let us use Vector in the first place. ~ 22:53, 10 October 2011
- And disabling Javascript also seems to disable the title override.
- That's because that is also done with javascript, because Wikia also never enabled the mediawiki's built-in (or maybe it was an extension, but still) way of going about that, either. ~ 23:00, 10 October 2011
- Holey crap, I didn't even notice that title-replacement.
- Anyway, I see you've fiddled the {{logo}} so that we javascript-less ones will only ever get to see the potatoe, but what would be wrong with my original idea of using monobook.css or uncyclopedia.css (or whatever) to set the z-index of #content to, I dunno, 4 or so? I tried that in my browser, and it worked, more or less, so that at least the replacement was in front of the standard logo. If one was to set the background-color style attribute of the logo-replacement <div> to the same as the sidebar, it would essentially obscure the old logo, and the "problem" would be solved, both for scripted and scriptless browsers.
- The only issue would be that the "featured" stamp would in front of the logo, instead of behind it. Is that the way it was meant to be? ~ Tue, Oct 11 '11 8:38 (UTC)
- Unfortunately, that's the core of the issue - we don't have on-page access to the css, else we could just change the background image directly. The only way to set the background-color style attribute of the logo-replacement <div> to the same as the sidebar is with javascript, unless you want to hardcode every single page using it into the site css. Doesn't really matter where the feature stamp is (it's been both over the years), but considering the lack of functionality of css, I'm still not seeing the advantage of allowing the plebes to cover the navigation elements, especially given tendencies of some vandals. ~ 14:39, 11 October 2011
- eh well, was worth a shot.
- I just wish that the HowTo namespace (among others) could use the same hack that the UnNews namespace uses. UnNews has the UnNews symbol with or without JS, while those others just have the potato. I miss the lowland gorilla, damnit! ~ Tue, Oct 11 '11 22:56 (UTC)
- That's because they're not actual namespaces, just mimicries of ones. Again, blame Wikia; we have no direct access to our namespaces here. It might be possible, however, to get them to add more actual namespaces if we could demonstrate that we have community support (ie, a vote) - would you care to start a forum to that end? Be worth a try, at least. ~ 16:07, 12 October 2011
- Ah, I see! So, I guess the "official" namespaces are the ones that show up on the search page? (Like Babel, Game, and Undictionary?)
- Soooo...what exactly is involved in the creation of an "actual" namespace? And are there other reasons why we would need 'em, besides the fun & fancy logos working properly — oh, and having 'em show up on the search page? ~ Wed, Oct 12 '11 16:49 (UTC)
- Aye, the ones that are separate namespaces according to the software, as opposed to just having extra stuff at the beginning of the name. They allow for namsepace-specific styling such as the logos as well as other stuff (like... anything else that might look different on different ones... backgrounds, colours, etc), as well as the search thing and simplifying DPL stuff and being able to sort recentchanges and newpages and the like around them, and be able to count or discount them as content pages... probably other stuff, but that's all I can think of off the top of my head. Perhaps see the manual somewhere. ~ 17:09, 12 October 2011
- Ok, so...just before I go about stirring up the rabble, let me get this straight: adding namespaces consists of someone doing this?
- I'm guessing that would be up to Sansse or some such?
- And we need a frickin' community consensus for that?! ~ Sat, Oct 15 '11 0:09 (UTC)
- Actually, there should be a front-end for that. But yes. Unrelatedly, your date stamp makes no sense. ~ 01:00, 15 October 2011
- In a massive coincidence, your raccoon made no sense after I accidentally dropped a clock tower on it. I gave it a kumquat, though, and we're even now. ~ Sat, Oct 15 '11 4:55 (UTC)

Appoint a new poopsmith please
Hi there, since I'm kinda going to be per-occudied for the next month or so. Uncyclopedia is no longer going to have any active and reliable poopsmiths. Might I suggest making Lollipop or someone a poopsmith, I see a backlog of QVFD other such pages starting to develop. And yeah I'm busy and lazy, can someone else do it? ~Sir Frosty (Talk to me!) 06:47, October 13, 2011 (UTC)
- I wouldn't mind being a poopsmith. I might as well drag Andorin along. -- PLEB SIR Lollipop (TALK) - updated on 13 October 2011, at 23:47
- just what exactly does a poopsmith do?--- 23:50, October 13, 2011 (UTC)
- As Lollipop has volunteered for the position, I've gone ahead and made it official. Congrats on becoming the newest Uncyclopedia Poopsmith, Lollipop. -- The Zombiebaron 00:30, October 14, 2011 (UTC)
- Squeaky grease gets the wheel! Also, if no one minds, since Andorin and Sycamore are also less-than-active, I'm gonna make another appointment too. --
- Well, I mean, if you can't find anyone better, I'll do it. But only if there's no one better for the job. -- 00:41, October 14, 2011 (UTC)
- I would do it but I have no idea what a poopsmith does.--- 00:45, October 14, 2011 (UTC)
- It's more or less what i've been doing since Rcmurphy was nice enough to make me a rollback. Although I agree with TKF, Andorin hasn't edited in a month and Sycamore is long gone. -- PLEB SIR Lollipop (TALK) - updated on 14 October 2011, at 00:58
- Well, you know you can archive shit now, right? -- 01:06, October 14, 2011 (UTC)
- Yeah. To make it perfectly clear for you, Iwillkill, the Poopsmith's job is to archive VFD, BP, and QVFD when an admin has marked the page as checked (kept/deleted in the case of VFD). -- The Zombiebaron 02:48, October 14, 2011 (UTC)
- Well, you know you can archive shit now, right? -- 01:06, October 14, 2011 (UTC)
- I was definitely considering you, Magic. You've got it if Matt Lobster turns it down. There used to only be a single poopsmith, and that was back when VFD was actually active, so it's not too pressing an issue to make multiple appointments, though. -- 01:07, October 14, 2011 (UTC)

What a coincidence I happen to leave a message after Shakespear came in boasting! 2 judges out of 3 were drunk, that's all!!! Seriously, awesome article, I am impressed by your prose and I learn a lot by reading this kind of article.
On another topic, sorry for cutting the conversation on IRC, it seems the storm is messing with the connetion since I can't get back on. See, I wasn't rude by leaving just like that! Could you joke ban me for a couple of seconds? I don't plan on making any significant edits tonight! :) Did what I said about employment here got through? Mattsnow 03:02, October 14, 2011 (UTC)
- Shakespeare? You mean the bird? Or... well, the bird's the bard. Or something.
- It said *.net *.split, though, so it clearly wasn't a matter of just leaving. Server trouble, that generally means. And it happens. But yes. ~ 19:05, 14 October 2011
Something appears to be broken
{{Logo}} doesn't seem to be working anymore most of the time, your userpage being a notable exception. And there's this image on Frosty's talkpage that doesn't render as an image. I've looked at the code of the relevant pages and nothing appeared to be more wrong than usual. Is it possible you did something with the logo template that's causing this? 18:43, 14 October 2011

- Actually, the logo thing appears to be nonfunctional for me. Firefox doesn't like me anymore. We've been together for seven years! Why, oh why must you hurt me so, Firefox??? I guess I'll just have to downgrade you. -- 23:20 October 15, 2011 (UTC)
- What version of firefox are you using? It's working on mine, which is probably up-to-date (it updates more frequently than I use it, at least)... Also, are there any particular non-functional pages, or is it all of them? There is more than one hack involved with this at this point, so it could just be one of the things. ~ 02:29, 16 October 2011

About the screenplay formatting fonts
I just wanted to mention that I checked my computer, and gosh, you're right, I don't have Courier installed. However, neither does anyone else who owns a Windows computer which has "factory-standard" fonts, as far as I can tell. (Oddly enough, it looks as though Windows does come with this really neat "Courier New", a close variant of Courier.)
This means that anyone running Windows (and there are a few of those) see crappy non-aliased fonts when they look at Unscripts pages.
I checked wikipedia, the Arbiter of All Truths, which says, "it has...become an industry standard for all screenplays to be written in 12 point Courier or a close variant." (Hmm, there's that phrase again.) This led me to believe that, in the absence of "Courier" proper, "Courier New" might be an acceptable substitute.
What do you think of at least setting "Courier New" as the secondary "fall-back" font for those screenplay templates? ~ Sun, Oct 16 '11 2:49 (UTC)
- P.S. thanks for clearing up the use of {{paren}} — I had no clue. ~ Sun, Oct 16 '11 2:51 (UTC)
- But it's not a close variant; the only things they seem to have in common are the fact that they're both monospace fonts and both include the word 'courier' in their names. It's probably as good a fall back as any other monospace, though, especially if windows' default really is some weird pixellated thing, but... eh. Really not ideal, that. Why does windows come with all these weird spindley things and yet no proper fonts, though? Never understood that.
- The other fixes you did seemed to be good, though. Thanks for that. ~ 03:19, 16 October 2011
- P.S. Though. ~ 03:19, 16 October 2011
- Saw some interesting things about the differences between Courier New & Courier here and here, where it says "NOTE: The Courier New font alters the pitch of the typeface, taking up more space on the page and therefore altering the overall page count of a script document. Courier New font is not recommended for screenwriters." To be nerdy about it, Courier New apparently has a different line-height, and thicker punctuation? (Anyway, Courier New doesn't even have its own Wikipaedo page — it's part of Courier. That's where I'm getting my "close variant" assertion.)
- P.S. Though. ~ 03:19, 16 October 2011
- Now, I dunno about you, but I'm not at all torn up about those differences, seeing as this is a parody site. I just like lookin' at shit that's puuuurty, and, on Windows, Courier New fits that bill, sure 'nuff. Of course, we're prolly the only two who care about this subject. ~ Sun, Oct 16 '11 3:44 (UTC)
- Blah, nevermind what folks say about such things; it's all in the fiddly bits. Do you pay special attention to the fiddly bits? Can find some interesting things.
- All I really know is that courier new just looks horribly, terribly wrong, though. Looking wrong bad, whatever it is. Things should look right; especially when it makes the victims so much more unsuspecting, after all. Can't go having them see it coming a mile away or they might call the fuzz, and we can't have that. ~ 16:10, 17 October 2011
- I don't get it. Here's the difference I see. (Be sure to view at 100%.) One looks like crap, one's nice and anti-aliased. ~ Wed, Oct 19 '11 0:36 (UTC)
- And neither of them are courier. ~ 00:58, 19 October 2011
Then do show us your screenshot of courier, love. ~ Wed, Oct 19 '11 1:01 (UTC)They both look like Courier to me. Here are a couple more screenshots of my own:- the page rendered in Opera on Mac OSX 10.3.9 direct from the server, un-manipulated by me. Now, here's the shot of "Courier New" (Windows), overlaid directly by "Courier" (OSX, in red). Aaaaaand...here's the two of them again, with "Courier" (OSX, in red) overlaid directly on "Courier New" (Windows). Other than a slight difference in font-weight (probably explained by the fact that one computer is using fonts adjusted for a CRT screen, and the other for LCD) I see almost no difference. What do you see? ~ Wed, Oct 19 '11 1:41 (UTC)
- And neither of them are courier. ~ 00:58, 19 October 2011

Can you move the Spongebob Squarepants page?
I want to move my rewrite for PLS into mainspace, but I want to move it to the SpongeBob SquarePants page, so rather then just replace the Spongebob Squarepants page with a redirect, could you please move the current article to SpongeBob SquarePants so then I can replace it with my rewrite? I asked ChiefjusticeDS to do it, but then I remembered he was on vacation or something. -- 01:38, October 18, 2011 (UTC)
- But the entire point of rewriting such things is usually to replace them, and in this case the existing thing definitely merits replacement. That said, the current one is also under the wrong title (SpongeBob SquarePants is proper), so putting yours in the proper place and then redirecting the existing to that would make more sense. ~ 02:23, 18 October 2011

A tiny suggestion
Ok I see you put Lollipop in the UN:OFFICE, whilst I disagree with it strongly, I'm not here to try and convince you to take it back. I think if Lollipop does feel you are being unfair to him and now with you placing him under restrictions and all, maybe I thought it would be nice if you could at least try and limit the things you do that he doesn't like. What I mean is:
- If Lollipop does get an article on VFH, not liking it is perfectly ok. But if you do, offer a little more than "Its not funny" or "Needs some more work" or simply saying against. Justify it, offer criticism and tell him what he needs to work on rather than simply saying it not good enough. It's clearly frustrating him.
- If Lollipop does decide to feed the trolls, don't just give him a five minute ban or something. He's on IRC a lot, talk to him there or message him via his talk page, and try and get him to cut it out. After talk if he still decides to feed the trolls then of course ban away. (Of course if has been very persistant ignore this point altogether)
- Revert wars that are legitimately against vandalism, don't warrant bans mostly. I have done the same before and so have others, it doesn't really do anything bad.
You are both very good contributors and I'd hate to see him banned or rage quit successfully, but I think if you at least try and act as though you care about how he feels then maybe. Just maybe this dark chapter can be ended for good.
Or course you don't have to listen to this poorly constructed attempt at a compromise, but I thought it would be nice if you did ;) ~Sir Frosty (Talk to me!) 09:43, October 22, 2011 (UTC)
- Lyrithya, I have removed Lollipop from UN:OFFICE at the moment. I'd like a word in IRC or via email when you're next around. Not trying to undermine you here but I'd just like to have a quick chat before this gets taken any further. --ChiefjusticePSX 14:23, October 22, 2011 (UTC)
- Meh, talk to Olipro. Perhaps you and he can work something out, since he actually is an admin, and he did support the idea of adding Lollipop there.
- And Frosty, UN:OFFICE is for existing editors who keep doing things over that would normally get folks banned, and that's exactly what Lollipop has been doing - feeding the trolls, for instance, is a bannable offence in of itself; save for extreme cases, a revert war with a vandal is more of the same. It only validates what the vandals are doing, because it elicits an immediate response and thus they can tell they're wasting someone's time in real time. And Lollipop has also threatened to leave at least five times, from apparent attempts to validate his presence here to all-out tantrums after someone tried to apply policy to him; this has to stop, and putting it up on a wall was supposed to be added incentive.
- That said, I understand you can sympathise since you've done some of the same specifics yourself, but there is a key difference in which you only did them once, or stopped after someone talked to you... when someone keeps doing something, that's when it becomes an issue. but I guess he won't stop. Oh well. Noone ever does anymore. ~ 18:12, 22 October 2011
- Jesus christ...I never saw that other forum nor the unnews drama. YIKES! Well I take back what I said Lyrithya...and I appologize for taking sides too quickly. Sorry. Could you at least try not to spread your pessimism as much (re: he will never stop...noone does anymore?). --ShabiDOO 18:30, October 22, 2011 (UTC)
- Not really sides, though, so much as just stupid crap. Lollipop is a decent user, just does a lot of stupid crap... but we all do stupid crap, really. Here it seemed like it would help to put it all in one place in metaphorical big letters DON'T DO THIS, but apparently others disagree. ~ 20:02, 22 October 2011
- Reverting vandals is feeding trolls now? Gee it seems like doing anything is feeding trolls suddenly. Attempting to reason with you is feeding a troll. Lollipop's been making an active attempt to improve himself as a user for the last year, even if sometimes his efforts fall short (sometimes, miserably short), but you've managed to regress in quality exponentially ever since you got your fingers on the admin tools. When I saw you unilaterally put Lollipop on Office with some ridiculous parameters (thanks to Chief for swiftly undoing that, by the way) I was very tempted to match it with an entry for yourself. But then I remembered, y'know, other opinions from members of our community. You're missing something important. To quote Godfrey: "It's called empathy, man." --
- I did not unilaterally put him in UN:OFFICE - this may come as a surprise, but I actually talked to RAHB and Olipro first, though regarding different aspects. I also didn't go over the specifics with either of them, again because they didn't happen to be around at the time, but this was not meant to be the final draft, just a save put down to be revised accordingly. That you of all people would be coming at me regarding this, however, is a little surprising, given your own tendency to block people on your own judgement, but then, using one's own judgement is what admins do, isn't it? In the more recent UN:OFFICE additions, they were each added by one admin on their own judgement as well, based on what they understood of the matter, but it would seem that my judgement carries no weight around here, regardless of what else might be involved.
- And yes, I would argue that getting into a revert war on a single page is feeding the trolls, especially when what said trolls are doing to that one article is making comments about how some idiot is reverting them, which was the case on a recent one. Regardless of what you call it, though, given noone around to block them, if one simply stops reverting them, chances are they'll get bored and go away on their own a lot sooner. I believe you were the one who taught me this in the first place, in fact. ~ 20:02, 22 October 2011

I don't agree with it not being an article...
...but I don't really care. Actually, I put this together as a VFP potential, but scrapped it for two reasons, one technical, and one aesthetic but with a technical aspect.
- It seems to have issues when being parsed by server
- Because of the time in the corner, for this to "work" it has to be of a certain size. Trimmed down to 300px high (the absolute maximum I would do for a feature image) the timer becomes illegible, and that part of the joke doesn't work.
So in short I have a cute idea, which works well as a gif (the graininess, greyscale, and lack of sound are similar to the movies that are being parodied), but won't work as part of a larger whole (as far as I can see), creates a one-liner article (like knot and Tropical cyclone, which I love those but they are not to everyone's taste), and could be converted to a video format (but there'd be no advantage - already had one article based on a video shot down in flames as it wasn't hosted on site).
Having said that, VFP is the next logical step, but there's those pesky technical issues. If only I knew someone on site who I could explain all this to who was magical with this sort of thing - you know, like a current admin for instance... Pup 12:17 22 Oct '11
- Those do fit the frame of an encyclopedia, more or less, though the knot would never be featured either simply for what it is. Actual videos, however, fit the frame even less, especially when we already have other channels specifically for that. And there would be an advantage to a video format - the image is quite large, but starts playing as soon as the first frame is loaded, not the last, and it plays on a loop - so folks are likely to see stuff from the middle before they see the beginning, or see it all in slow motion, which kind of ruins any hope for a punchline, which this seems to try to have, though I'm not actually entirely sure where the beginning is, which is another issue. Trailers don't do that. They start somewhere.
- Good luck with it, though. I'm no good with technicalities. ~ 18:18, 22 October 2011
Further UN:OFFICE
I have spent a day off of Uncyclopedia to think over some stuff about all that was mentioned in the brief UN:OFFICE log. I was extremely amazed to see that I had been put there, but I feel that since I had a day to think these things over, I have decided upon fourles to change things:
- If a user vandalizes, I may only revert them twice. The third time they do it, I immidiately add them to ban patrol and/or tell an admin on IRC and wait until their ban.
- If I ever feel like i'm being put down or harrassed, a good talk over with another user may boost confidence.
- If I feel a ban is a bit too harsh (if i'm banned at all), I will take it up calmly with the banner.
- If a vandal is attempting to talk to me on my talkpage, I will either 1. wait until they are banned and give a witty response once they are not capable of editing anymore, or 2. ignore it fully and move along. Probably 2 seems better than 1.
I have also decided to stay away from Uncyclopedia drama at the moment, as it usually leads to a whiny fight that leads to either someone banned or a brief in-joke. I will take this and use it to learn from my experiences. This has been a good wake up call, as I am nowhere in the same category as those other users. I will work on those thing mentioned. -- PLEB SIR Lollipop (TALK) - updated on 22 October 2011, at 18:30
- Naw, you can revert them as much as you want so long as they don't start undoing your reverts or talking about you in further vandalisms - if they do, just... stop. Anything ongoing, however, the sooner you tell an admin, the better, regardless of how cognisant or oblivious the vandal might be.
- Aye, or maybe they'll be able to put it in a more helpful manner and resolve the situation that way - sometimes folks can be a complete asshat about something but still have a point... just gets drowned out in the asshatness, you know? Or maybe it's just an asshat and that's the end of it, indeed.
- Yes, please.
- Don't respond - even after they're banned, that could encourage them to come back with a proxy or something (taking it as a challenge or something). Removing the comment altogether also can work quite well, since that way all ambiguity is removed whether you might still respond or not - it makes it clear that you are not going to acknowledge them. On the other hand, this can also piss them off even more, but... uh, if all else fails, you can always get your talkpage protected temporarily.
- Thanks, man. I'm still a little concerned about one thing, though - you've already said you'd try to do/not do things several times in the past and then wound up doing them anyway. Don't get me wrong; I'm not saying there's any ill intent, but you seem to simply forget some things after a while, and that's what the issue stems from, hence the UN:OFFICE thing - serve as a reminder for everyone involved, and a more concrete solution should you forget and do it all over again anyway that won't wind up sp irritable and impulsive and such as what has presently been going on, and thus perhaps with less ensuing hard feelings on all sides. Because it's easy to forget. I know.
- As it stands, though... well, I don't know. Hopefully you'll remember at least for awhile, but I really wish these wakeup calls weren't necessary at all. ~ 20:20, 22 October 2011
- Well, as I said, I took a day off to think over some things. I wasn't sure if deleting messages was allowed, but that could help. Another thing is protecting my talkpage, but that would possibly not be a good idea, with me welcoming and adopting users. Can we please forget about this and move on? -- PLEB SIR Lollipop (TALK) - updated on 22 October 2011, at 20:55
- Don't forget, else it's apt to happen all over again. Keep it in mind, mon, so you don't repeat. Bringing it up, on the other hand, hopefully won't be necessary... but don't forget. ~ 01:15, 23 October 2011

- We need a better article on 9/11.
- We already have like five or six featured articles about 9/11, it's just that none of them happen to be called 9/11. Maybe we can VFD that one into a disambig and link to the features? -- 20:37, October 24, 2011 (UTC)

- Well, as I said, I took a day off to think over some things. I wasn't sure if deleting messages was allowed, but that could help. Hey
Where did that go? I wrote it. I liked it, unless somebody else has trashed it meanwhile.
Can it be retrieved? -- Swami A. Suresh 19:03, October 24, 2011 (UTC)
- I restored it, since while a lot of it just seems random, we have much worse, and FFW is one of the fuzzier deletion things. So yeah. Stuff. You may want to get it reviewed at some point and try to make it more accessible to other folks somehow, though. ~ 22:10, 24 October 2011
Beslan part 1
Hey Lyrithya! How is the article Beslan going so far? Vzvartnots 16:46, October 25, 2011 (UTC)
- It's going decently. At this point, you'd probably want to look more to the flow and wordage and such, and work on adding more individual jokes. And add more links. It doesn't have very many of those. ~ 01:47, 26 October 2011
