Wha?

I hope the mouse is working out for you. Feed it peanut butter, she likes that. A formal thanks for voting for my Dreaming page. You will now dream the dreams of the peaceful for lots of night in a row! Appreciated. On thst sci-fi gif, I figure I can just move it to Spock or Kirk's page, it should feel at home there. If a few people really dislike it it's better far away from a Colonization page, so, yeah. I saw you wanted me to ask you to proofread pages so you can read them. Can you please proofread California Marijuana Initiative? It needs it, according to John Lydon, who found at least two errors that I can't find. This way you can read it, and urge your friends to vote (not on VFH, well, not only on VFH, but in California next Tuesday). I did some work on the frat page, it seems semi-interesting with fair possibilities. Congrats on everything again too! Aleister 16:35 27 10

It's... an interesting mouse, to be sure. I voted for that? I thought I didn't... or maybe that was a different one. Dammit, Aleister, you've had way too much stuff on VFH of late! XD
That would be nice... it would, putting the gif elsewhere.
Alright, when I'm done with my coursework. And jobwork, for that matter... I need to do that again one of these days, lest I stop being able to purchase groceries. Groceries are important. And I ain't in California; don't know anyone who is. And the frat page, I know nothing of. Had to go to wikipedia just to find out what the subject even was... strange, that I'd never heard of it. Did you know?

  1. That the name Lyrithya is Zulu slang for organic DMT?
  2. That your article on wrists is way better than Wikipedia?
  3. That Aleister is not actually in chains?

  1. What does DMT mean?
  2. Wikipedia is only good for certain things...
  3. That's because I sold them on eBay.
  4. I'll look at it later.

Well, in organic Africa Lyrithya means Dimethyltryptamine. Wiki (where I came from before here) is good for anything BUT laughs. So we leave them to ponder facts, and nothing but the facts. And those chains, the reason I know is because I bought them on eBay. Hope you like the USE history. It hasn't happened yet, but it did. I can't figure it out half the time, and I certainly shouldn't be nominating things, after all... ~ Pointy.png *shifty eyes* (talk) (stalk) -- 20101028 - 20:10 (UTC)

This is not much to go on. Previously, there were no instructions except to follow instructions in the code. One reason I tried to rewrite it is that UnLaw nominated an article yesterday and did everything wrong. I'll take another look at it, but please be more specific if you can. Spıke ¬ 20:25 28-Oct-10

Oh. And... I... can't be more specific. Sorry. Although I distinctly remember there being something worse before, but now I can't find it, so... guess you must have fixed it, whatever it was. Or maybe I was imagining things... ~ Pointy.png *shifty eyes* (talk) (stalk) -- 20101028 - 20:32 (UTC)

No, I can't fix it, because it is in a template, whose source is protected. And it's still at the top of VFD. You've probably never read it; no one reads it, because of all the big, italic, brown, pink, and red type designed to compel people to read it. I'll do what I can.

In other news, we have a persistent blanker, "CosbyCorp Executive"--I've gone to UN:BP and just now to IRC to get him banned. Spıke ¬ 20:34 28-Oct-10

No, no, no, I mean on your version, there was something that downright confused me before. But I do read the main one; it has... some holes. Yours, however, possibly takes it too far with thoroughness, but then again I am always underestimating the denseness of people... you've already done amazingly. If you can do even more so, that'd be... er... amazing.
And I saw that... strange, strange thing. Very persistent, not even bothering with other things? Odd, indeed. ~ Pointy.png *shifty eyes* (talk) (stalk) -- 20101028 - 20:38 (UTC)

Oh? Why has he not? ~ Pointy.png *shifty eyes* (talk) (stalk) -- 20101028 - 20:55 (UTC)

Lyrithya, if you haven't seen that sci-fi B movie, they were two young lovers in separate fighter jets, defying orders to return to the mother ship, because they were joyously blasting aliens. Anyway, I decided that "batch your votes" was the confusing part and have rewritten the section on Voters. See if that's better. Spıke ¬ 21:01 28-Oct-10

Hype, maybe Zombie doesn't bonk "that way." Spıke ¬ 21:02 28-Oct-10

So, these pilots--'cause they defied orders!--stay in the gunfight until one's jet is disabled by exploded scrap metal, and the other watches as she crash lands on the runway of this space-bound aircraft carrier (and I mean crashes, despite the vacuum), and as the Wing Commander orders a (zero-gravity) tractor to push her jet off the runway--and it falls down. A tear-jerker, if you can keep suspending disbelief. And we don't have an article on this classic. That may have to change. Spıke ¬ 21:07 28-Oct-10 post-edited

Yeah, sure, I dunno. I was going to launch into a tirade about inconsistent structure within your thingy, but now I can't be bothered. Frankly, it's fine, and that did help, and I most probably was imagining whatever my original gripe was about... nlargle.
Sounds... like a lovely plot. O_o ~ Pointy.png *shifty eyes* (talk) (stalk) -- 20101028 - 21:22 (UTC)

Plot? There was one of those too. It was a big battle with the aliens, but the key player (with psychic powers) had the Fleet Commander's confidence, but his only way to demonstrate that was by showing his adversary his signet ring; and he had the rank of Admiral, but didn't disclose that until the middle of the big battle. The grunts all looked it up, on their shipboard computers, then he was Big Man in Space. The movie deserves Uncyclopedia's best. Spıke ¬ 02:59 29-Oct-10

Continued from User talk:Lyrithya/archive03#News about TAW

A few years back, a lot of the vandalism that happened on the site came from AOL proxy IPs. These guys were notoriously hard to block and eventually the admins at the time had to use rangeblocks to get the problem under control. I ended up getting caught in a few myself. :) MadMax 05:19, October 29, 2010 (UTC)

So, on the off chance you notice that I moved this...
How do IP blocks work, anyhow? Or was this before you made your user-thingy? Or did this help you decide to make a user thing? Or is that unrelated? Or... okay, that stuff is complicated. Did that keep them out? ~ Pointy.png *shifty eyes* (talk) (stalk) -- 20101029 - 21:16 (UTC)

Funny you should bring that up. My first contact with a regular editor came about because of that. The rangeblocks certainly kept a lid on the AOL vandals for awhile though apparently a few users were blocked in the process and there was some talk on the forums about banning IPs from the site altogether. These days AOL isn't quite as popular as it used to be so there's a lot less vandalism coming from that particular ISP. In fact, I don't think anyone has had to use a rangeblock in a long time. Its funny because, looking back, this was such a big deal. Anyway it was a happy ending for everyone (except the vandals of course). MadMax 06:45, October 31, 2010 (UTC)

You are... history, you are.
Eh, that's awful. I'm glad it now will exclude logged in folks, though, since... well, yeah. I mean, it does, right? I always assumed it did... but I can see why it would have been a big deal, then. Bloody annoying. Still, I think I'd have been for allowing the bad in with the good, if that was the price, as the case was... so there'd be more to clean up, so what? Some people are worth it, no?
Vandals like to find ways, though. Waays... ~ Pointy.png *shifty eyes* (talk) (stalk) -- 20101031 - 07:19 (UTC)

Lol. I spend most of my time in the SpecialPages so I'm actually out of the loop on most things around here. If you're ever in IRC you should talk to some of the older editors if you want some really good stories. I think even some of the old regulars, like Splaka, still drop in from time to time. I'm pretty sure that registered users are excluded from IP blocks (unless they were banned of course). MadMax 04:16, November 4, 2010 (UTC)

All your time? All? Now, really, cannot be all... and I've been on IRC... haven't seen Splaka. Seen a few, though; they're like ghosts in the leaves, drifting by as if nothing was solid. Mostly it's other folk, though. Names and words and mumbled decapitations. No idea if they even use the wiki, and asking would ruin the magic of it, with some of them.
I got banned and tried logging in with a sock and was still banned, once... it was actually kind of reassuring. But that's really all I know; this stuff's a great mystery to me. ~ Pointy.png *shifty eyes* (talk) (stalk) -- 20101104 - 04:41 (UTC)

Oh really? That's too bad. Dr. Skullthumper mentioned it last time he was here (although that was around a year ago so..) It's been a really long time since I've been on IRC. Also, in addition to the SpecialPages, I use the maintenance categories and the "Things to do" page. So technically not "all" my time. :)

I know that when administrators block registered users they have the option to block the specific IP address used so that person can't simply just make a new account. I assume the sock account was probably using the same IP address. MadMax 03:51, November 7, 2010 (UTC)

Mmm, well, it seems to be improving from how it was for awhile, at least. Folks coming back, folks finally getting banned for being arses and making it safe for other folks to come back... eh. Well, the huff log certainly speaks to your efforts, at least for now. And I seriously did not know about that What you can do page, oh dear... and there really is so much to do, odd... yeah.

I think I still have the all-time record for most images huffed, two thousand images in one day, although that's the most you can do since the special pages are cached now. I'm pretty sure ZB and a few other admins deleted a lot more back in the day.
That's... impressive. Not sure how deletions go, but when I was going crazy categorising pages on Illogicopedia, the most I'd manage to pull of in a day was a couple hundred. And I was being rather crazy at the time.
So, yeah. Wow. I'm sure that's quite the run for their money, however much they might have done...

Myup, same IP... apparently I'm too lazy to actually evade bans. Still, eh. Not like I've had much reason to; only annoying bans I got were when three admins decided to ban me in rapid succession for the same thing... well, sort of. The last guy just did it because he saw the other two doing it, apparently... Don't you ban me too, please. Well, unless I actually do something to deserve it... ~ Pointy.png *shifty eyes* (talk) (stalk) -- 20101107 - 06:21 (UTC)

Who me? ;-) Seriously though, EMC was banned? Was it something serious? MadMax 04:55, November 10, 2010 (UTC)
*shifty eyes* Yup. He was just... being an arse... generally of the sort usually reserved for blackmail, actually. Maybe the message of 'don't do that' will get through, I dunno. ~ Pointy.png *shifty eyes* (talk) (stalk) -- 20101110 - 05:04 (UTC)

Why Shouldn't redirects be funny?

Do you have a sense of humor? Redirecting Palestine to Auschwitz is funny -redirecting to Israel is tragic!

Redirects should assist users in finding articles primarily, secondarily they should amuse if possible. What you are doing there is making a political statement which isn't funny and invites vandalism, don't do it again. --ChiefjusticeGameCube 18:22, October 30, 2010 (UTC)

Lithuanians

If there was a quote of the week in here, I would like to nominate this one you put in a pee review, placed on the desk of contributors:-

All manner of people could be reading this; make sure it could also be funny to Lithuanians.

We could always redirect all Lithuanian readers to Battle of Grunwald! Your comment made it a good start to Monday! Thanks. --Laurels.gifRomArtus*Imperator ® (Orate) 07:37, November 1, 2010 (UTC)

It's a good and valid comment, really. Probably had something to do with my recently reading that article, of course... ah, them fellas. Now the real question is, why were you even reading that review? Not that it matters, but I am rather curious.
Cheers. ~ Pointy.png *shifty eyes* (talk) (stalk) -- 20101101 - 18:47 (UTC)
Well I was considering helping with a Pee Review but knowing my reputation here as Mr Nyet, I looked at one of your pee reviews as an example. That's where I saw your Lithuanian comment. Many years ago a magazine editor told me that on a publication he worked which was about agriculture, they had a photo of one their typical readers posted to a noticeboard. It showed a farmer in rubber boots (wellington boots we would come in the UK), sitting in his tractor and ploughing a field. The idea being that if Farmer Giles couldn't understand it, the article was so much manure. Though there is already the 'Codeine Mom test' , we could always have Funny to Lithuanians? instead. Perhaps it could be called the F.T.L ? for short! Thanks also for the nom, I wasn't expecting it but thanks again. --Laurels.gifRomArtus*Imperator ® (Orate) 19:24, November 1, 2010 (UTC)
What?! Why would you look at mine? Mine are horrible examples; I usually have no idea what's going on in articles and so just start rambling in every direction in the hopes that I'll happen across something useful. They're hardly the sort of thing you would want to use as an example of good. Or were you looking for an example of bad? Actually, I could point you in the direction of some particularly atrocious ones some users have done... er... wait, maybe that wouldn't be such a good idea.
Seriously, though, if you want to see good ones, look to reviewers like Black flamingo11 and ChiefjusticeDS and Why do I need to provide this? and HELPME; they're actually consistently good and stuff, you know?
Heh, whatever the name to it, the Farmer Giles, Codeine's mum, Lithuanians in general, does it matter so long as the point is made? Mind, you're already Mr. Anti-Injokes, so perhaps it could just undergo a Romartus test...
And as for the nom, I wasn't expecting it, either, but somehow I wound up on the wrong page, and... yeah. (I really wasn't kidding about that. Still, you do deserve it.) ~ Pointy.png *shifty eyes* (talk) (stalk) -- 20101101 - 19:39 (UTC)

SPIKE, dear, that was a joke. I was not being serious, and I most certainly was not attempting to peacemake. If anything, I was trying to lead you both into a cage and... er... nevermind. But see, I was just trying to be an arse and complain as much as I could about both of you before my bus came and I lost internets. It probably would have worked better had I not tried to do it in five minutes, but had I had time to think about it, I probably would have chickened out before intentionally doing something so insanely pointless and needlessly inflammatory as that, anyhow.
Please don't hurt me. ~ Pointy.png *shifty eyes* (talk) (stalk) -- 20101102 - 00:26 (UTC)

Playwrite Award

Thanks so much. You really are a dear. Your care is much reciprocated. What are you working on now? Cheers!--Funnybony Icons-flag-th.png Agnideva-small.jpg AGT-logo-small.jpg 09:11, Nov 2

All I did was comment on the award's neglectedness of late... Aleister's the one who had the sense to think of you and actually get the thing up again. Good he did, too; you seem an excellent playwright. That Moon thingy was good...
Right now, I seem to be getting sidetracked every two minutes, though. I haven't the foggiest, in other words. Wait... was yours the masterpiece I was going to poke? I thought it might have been Aleister's, but all my attempts to contact the nutter have led to him running away. Odd, huh? ~ Pointy.png *shifty eyes* (talk) (stalk) -- 20101102 - 15:00 (UTC)

Happy?

Delirious. Thanks. As Zim ulator is not around to whore us UnNews types, we have to whore ourselves. Get a sound card and listen in! Spıke ¬ 21:23 3-Nov-10

Zim has been found, actually. Mordillo tracked him down. Dun dun duuuun...
So how did he whore you lot, eh? Why can you not do much the same, or something? Wasn't he some massive UnNews fellow, himself? And I actually got a sound card now... I just don't have any drivers or knowledge what to do with them, anyhow. Do you know how to make ubuntu server support sound, by any chance? ~ Pointy.png *shifty eyes* (talk) (stalk) -- 20101103 - 21:48 (UTC)

No I don't. Go fish. I tracked Zim down too; seems to be happy (except for the various illnesses). Spıke ¬ 22:16 3-Nov-10

Dang. At least there is that, though... ~ Pointy.png *shifty eyes* (talk) (stalk) -- 20101103 - 23:20 (UTC)

Zim was the Chief of UnNews (and probably would be again if he elects to come back) and spared no expense telling the world what his stable was up to. As I have had to start doing with my Not a nom on awards pages, as no one reads the UnNews:Newsroom. I'd rather write than stroke egos, but you are so good at encouraging people that I once told Romartus that UnNews should hire you solely to be Personnel Rep. Spıke ¬ 23:24 3-Nov-10

I make a point to ignore UnNews. It's as alien to me as... alienness! But, er... what, exactly, is a newsroom? And what's that one? And would reading the About help matters? Have you nommed others, too? You should, you know. If there are any. Are there any? Are there?! ...maybe I should start paying attention to these things. o_O I could even learn to write newses... teehee, okay, maybe not, but... who knows. And the hell are you talking about? Me, encourage people? I make it my purpose to crush people's wills to do stuff, not... not... oh, wait, were you being sarcastic? ~ Pointy.png *shifty eyes* (talk) (stalk) -- 20101103 - 23:48 (UTC)

I never joke about writing humor, and that was a real compliment. Please poke around UnNews. It might not be for you--in addition to being funny, there is the additional rigor of seeing something funny in the real world and making your story relate to it and read like real news; in mainspace, you're freer to choose your own topic and treatment. (Overnight we got two contributions that didn't.) The Newsroom is just the Forum for UnNews, pretty deserted at the moment. I copied all my not a noms there from last month's awards page. Spıke ¬ 00:07 4-Nov-10

News based on real news is only one option of many. The many is making up your own news which has nothing to do with real news. Both those things have been fine in the past. I want to make up a fake news page about ants being elected to the House of Lords, yes, that would be a great news article. Large ants, maybe one Queen ant in the mix. Aleister 1:31 4 11
That sounds like something Zim wrote recently, Aleister... except it was bats. Some mad government project involving a dairy farm of giant bats or some such... okay, so not that similar, but it did have giant animals.
Cut I'm seriously starting to think this place must have killed my negative spirit, or something. Except that doesn't even make any sense, you know? I guess I will... eventually. I think I may have stretched myself a little thin here already, trying to do some many things at once and write too many things at once, at that... hmm.
So, would a story about a moose breaking into people's houses and terrorising them work? Any way to make that funny? And is there anything that might be pulled off the fact that the local newspaper here mixed up the weather forecast for this week with one from apparently a previous year? Now I'm curious. ~ Pointy.png *shifty eyes* (talk) (stalk) -- 20101104 - 01:39 (UTC)

Aleister, you're right, though {{Original}} news is harder to pull off and do well. Lyrithya, whatever you do, don't burn yourself out! Moose? I think we've already had one home invasion in the state this season. I just collided with you taking I hate douche bags to QVFD; Simsilikesims, trusting soul, had just tagged it with {{Construction}}. Spıke ¬ 01:47 4-Nov-10

Moose's elected to or breaking into the House of Lords? That's way to silly for news, although it may work if the mooses dress up in those white wigs and act superior. Pip pip. Aleister 1:43 4 11
That story would stand or fall on the strength of the Shoop. Spıke ¬ 01:51 4-Nov-10

PS--"Any way to make that funny?" That is the key question. What I do is wait until a real event happens, then misread the news and run with the misreading. Best of all, get two stories, superficially related, and draw connections that don't belong. Spıke ¬ 01:50 4-Nov-10

Heh, so we're in agreement that that does not deserve to live, construction tag or no, then? XD Good, good, and nice comment. And we'll see what whoever happens to come across this pile of potential deletions does, of course, but...
Eh, don't worry. The odds of me burning out on anything are incredibly slim, considering just how lazy I am. And what a procrastinator... I said I'd review something yesterday afternoon and still haven't done it, go figure. Oh well, something, something... I shall do something! And moose do a lot of that, no? ~ Pointy.png *shifty eyes* (talk) (stalk) -- 20101104 - 01:53 (UTC)

Science Fiction

How are we in Science Fiction, shape wise? Is it close to where you are most comfortable with it? I haven't snuck over there in over a week if not longer. It scares me, science fiction, because it's science but fiction. Aleister 1:33 4 11

Er... I got horribly sidetracked before getting much of anywhere; I doubt I've been there in as long, myself. So, er... maybe... I should work on that? We should work on that? Something? Urgle... so much to do, so much to do... never enough time... *stares off into space thinking about ants instead of doing any of it* ~ Pointy.png *shifty eyes* (talk) (stalk) -- 20101104 - 01:39 (UTC)
No, no, a nillion times no, I didn't mean it to place pressure right. . .there. . .Just was wondering what you think of it. I'll fish around in sci-fi, and have to see what the edits have done, but if you want to collab on those ants instead we could do that someday. And I won't even look at the page for awhile. Who needs it. It's science, that's all, mixed with some fiction, nothing to see there. Ants. Aleister 1:46 4 11
Whack!
Huur. Okay. I think it ain't ready, in that case. Someone may need it... isn't that what IC does, fixes crappy necessary articles, or something? Mmm, we could try a proper collaboration, but... well... *emits aura of laziness* It could take awhile. Think the ants would work? It's not a bad idea, after all. ~ Pointy.png *shifty eyes* (talk) (stalk) -- 20101104 - 01:58 (UTC)

Aleister, I ain't turning on animations just to see what that is. Sorry. ~ Pointy.png *shifty eyes* (talk) (stalk) -- 20101104 - 02:05 (UTC)

You mean you have a machine that turns off animations? I've never heard of that. Is it some kind of magic computer twizzle thing? OK, I'll describe it. It's a small pic of a cartoon japanese girl whacking two other cartoon japanese girls, not in the same scene but in two different scenes, and from two different directions, with what could be interpreted as a frying pan. Which is why I thought you'd like it. It's not very long, it's like whack! whack! and then it's done. One of the two quick scenes has a blue background, the other an orange background. The girl hitting the others with a frying pan is wearing a grey sweater. UPDATE: Actually, the second scene may not picture the hitting of a Japanese girl, but of an caucasian ginger, who then throws up after she is whacked on the head. Quiet gruesome, actually, if studied closely. UPDATE TWO: Oh my God, I think she kills them both. Their eyes, just after they are pounded on the head, turn into big X's, which indicates death. This is a very upsetting update. I'll go back in and keep looking at it. As for sci-fi, nah, forget it, no comment on sci-fi. Ants, ants march where they go. Aleister 2:09 4 11
That doesn't look like a frying pan at all. It looks more like a greenish blue penis to me. Good thing you've got animations disabled, Lyrithya. Ye-es... animated images and flash animations, at any rate. Leaves javascript intact. It's very nice. Very, very, very nice, since nearly all animation is just plain annoying and has no actual decent reason to be so...

UPDATE: Blood. After she hits them for just a brief instant a flood of blood flows from the point of impact. We are witnessing two murders! Two murders within the space of less than two seconds. I think the ginger one is smiling just before the fatal blow falls. Oh the humanity. Aleister 2:21 (the penis theory is just silly, that is obviously metal, either a pan or a solid kitchen piece)
I'm sure they had it coming. ~ Pointy.png *shifty eyes* (talk) (stalk) -- 20101104 - 02:25 (UTC)

Redirect Problem

Hi, I have a heavily edited redo of an article I earlier submitted, now sitting in Pee Review, entitled Secret Nazi Moon Base. The previous version I created was redirected to an article someone else created called Top Secret Nazi Moon Base. Question I now have is how do I get my redone article posted without it being eaten / redirected?

Orbhunterx 05:02, November 7, 2010 (UTC)

You have my apologies. We took you for a vandal, what with your not particularly constructive edits to the original article and the fact that you just ignored us when we reverted you... so when you put forth the other version, it looked like just a strange copy with no real reason to exist...
If you want to rewrite an article like that, it is advised that you do not start with the article proper, or in a second version of the mainspace - create a copy in your userspace and work on it there. And... don't do it on the review, that... that's not what they're for. Anyway, I've copied the text from the review back into the second version you created and moved it into your userspace here for now. Sorry about the confusion, but you should be able to work on it there unhindered.
The problem is, though, a lot of your humour resembles political bashing, which is not the point of Uncyclopedia. We try to be funny... and made up histories simply aren't that funny in of themselves, either. I can give you a proper review later if you want, but for now, do read HTBFANJS and the Beginner's Guide.
Once you get articles to prettier, funnier state, then they tend to fare better in the mainspace. ~ Pointy.png *shifty eyes* (talk) (stalk) -- 20101107 - 05:45 (UTC)

My bed, ah, bad

Thank you, you wonderful reviewer, you. But the most horrible thing is I'll have to hurry up to do your page. You gave me enough good criticism that I can improve the page because of your fine review, i.e. the extinct mammoths, and evening out some sections, and that final picture, hmmmmmmm, that may have to stay but I don't know, don't know. some stuff: I originally had an Abe Lincoln pic on Abe, but realized that wasn't funny. So an "aging" Abe made me laugh. The footnotes, it just seem to be a footnote article for people who like those. Some people do I guess, others don't, and I'll see if I can move some of the footnotes back into the page. Anyway, yeah, so good. Thank you. Where is your page though? I lost it, so I can't really review it. I'll check the floors and shelves, maybe I put it in a file somewhere and misplaced the file. Hmmmmm. Thanks again! Aleister 1:19 10 11

Er... you're welcome, you wonderful writer, you. Will you? Eh, seriously, if you really don't want to... it's fine, really.
And the final picture, I am not saying it should go, not at all. But if you make it clearer somehow what it's doing... ya know? It'd help. I think. And... ah. I see. Eh, just don't use too many footnotes, I think I meant to say... no idea what that means, mind.
Mine is here (review page)... but again, you don't have to. Nuuurg. >.< Welcomeses. And good luck. ~ Pointy.png *shifty eyes* (talk) (stalk) -- 20101110 - 01:41 (UTC)
Okay, to drop the comedy and be totally serious /throws pie into own face, runs around with a seltzer bottle spraying children and dogs randomly, I just read KDE again and couldn't read it again word for word. I've had a lifelong aversion to technical manuals and computer programming detail. My math skills are zero, and this overlaps into tech stuff, so I have no idea what the article is about. I can't tell things like parts of speech, I just don't know them, and this part of my brain also overlaps into tech things. So bottom line, someone else would do a much better job for you than a tech cripple such as me. Now, your page Protagonist, is that available for reviewing? If so, Yippee, would love to do that one. Or one of your others! Aleister 1:50 10 11
To Aleister - Alright, fair enough... And not really a very good sign, at that. I'd rather wait until I have actually fixed up the content of Protagonist, honestly. Not much point getting it reviewed before I've done what I could from what I could tell for myself, you know? And it'll happen eventually? Eh, I do have another one I'm rather uncertain of, that silly long HowTo... if you could take a look at that, I'd be much obliged.
Or, if you prefer, you could not review any of them. The bed one didn't come with strings attached, after all... I was just hoping. ~ Pointy.png *shifty eyes* (talk) (stalk) -- 20101110 - 02:10 (UTC)
/Sits patiently waiting for Protaganist, wondering why it has to be changed from its masterpiece existence. Jeex, why do you have to review your how to write? It's a great page, great I tells ya, and should have been featured long ago. But I will look at it and comment soon. Don't all beds come with strings attached? I thought that's what beds do? I'm glad SPIKE's got his eye on KDE, he's a genius hiding under the guise of a railroad nail, or that guy from Buffy. Aleister 2:26 10 11
Ask flamingo. It was his feedback that has put me in this direction... at least, I think it was him. It just falls into pattern way too quickly. There are so many different stupid clichés I could work in if only I could think of them/be bothered... and because I don't know that. Is it? I cannot tell. It sure wasn't when I started, that much is certain...
SPIKE's a strange one. Sometimes I want to poke him with a giant squid just to see what happens... ~ Pointy.png *shifty eyes* (talk) (stalk) -- 20101110 - 03:35 (UTC)

KDE

Forgive me for eavesdropping. KDE is funny--like the Birmingham Niggers baseball team, a concept methodically planned out by people oblivious to how revolting the result would be--software that predictably bogs down the computer. But some of the humor is funny primarily to those who have been in the trenches of writing software to avoid those very problems, and the article is further bogged down by too-complicated writing, such as noun phrases instead of direct statements, and plenty of weasel words like "quite." It reads like a scientific paper with a bit of levity. Spıke ¬ 02:07 10-Nov-10

Okay, so how do I fix it, any ideas? The writing patterns should be more easy, but the problem with what it is and how it is... urg. ~ Pointy.png *shifty eyes* (talk) (stalk) -- 20101110 - 02:10 (UTC)

Well, there is no problem with what it is (except: I'm seriously not interested in "flame wars" between "communities" and other stuff that may have happened to you that happens to everyone). The problem is with how it is. Just simplify. Spıke ¬ 02:20 10-Nov-10

Mmm, that... could be doable. Maybe. How does one do that, exactly? (Do you mean the who bit about them all going to war? I made that up, actually... the extent of what actually was pretty much just incompatibility, I think.) ~ Pointy.png *shifty eyes* (talk) (stalk) -- 20101110 - 02:24 (UTC)

I show you what I mean with the changes to the intro to Section 1. Can't do the whole thing because it was yours and I would necessarily smother to death some material of importance to you. But, in general: I know what modules and subroutines are, but whether or not any given reader does, this level of detail does not boost the humor but only your credibility to an entirely different audience. Cheers. Spıke ¬ 00:18 11-Nov-10

Love, I have no idea what's going on in any of it... and, for the record, I don't know what modules or subroutines are. Did I mention them? Did I sound like I knew what I was talking about? Perhaps this does bear investigation... er, anyhow, I'll actually compare what you did with how it was at some point (I couldn't even tell by looking at it, although it looked fine)... and thanks for taking an interest. All right. It's your turn to edit KDE--by deleting the last paragraph of 1.2, which I won't do for you. The fact that you experienced an amusing technical challenge, which you describe in detail, is unlikely to be amusing to anyone else. Spıke ¬ 00:38 12-Nov-10

This... could take awhile. ~ Pointy.png *shifty eyes* (talk) (stalk) -- 20101112 - 01:04 (UTC)

It could--but you're getting it done just fine. I took a hack on one of the sections. You win a word-mincer hat--Haven't decided what kind of hat it is. Probably a surgeon's mask. Spıke ¬ 08:58 14-Nov-10

Thanks...

...For the pee review on HowTo:Become a Master of Disguise. I wanted to wait till I was done rewriting it to say thanks. How'd I do? HowTo:Become a Master of Disguise. --Wanna see a magic trick? 05:25, November 10, 2010 (UTC)

Mmm, it has certainly improved. Your introduction even begins to draw a reader in, so you are certainly on the right track. Question is, why do you have separate sections for the who and why? They seem to be introduction as well...
As a HowTo, of course, the most important part is how - which you have certainly expanded upon. Now you'll probably need to make it clearer and perhaps expand more, but I'll leave specifics to whoever reviews it. I was kind of sad to see you threw out the goldilocks images, though - they were rather amusing, and might have made for a good aside of sorts, literally on the side, but maybe they didn't fit anymore after all.
Eh. Whatever, definitely an improvement. Cheers. ~ Pointy.png *shifty eyes* (talk) (stalk) -- 20101110 - 18:13 (UTC)

Sorry it took me so long to write back to you. Anyway, this may sound weird but... When you said the "goldilocks images" I actually don't know what you're talking about. Please can you show me them? Anyway, thanks again. --Wanna see a magic trick? 20:43, November 12, 2010 (UTC)

Ah, I meant the series of pictures, not well made to too well made to just right. Like Goldilocks, you know? Admittedly, I'm not sure how they would fit anymore, but it is a shame to see them gone. ~ Pointy.png *shifty eyes* (talk) (stalk) -- 22:47, November 12, 2010 (UTC)

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! I get it. Thanks. No I don't think that would fit in any more. I could look, but I don't think it will fit in. Anyway, Bye! --Wanna see a magic trick? 01:49, November 13, 2010 (UTC)

And more thanks...

For Bed again. I've spent some time putting it right, per your pee review, and worked for an hour or so on the Lincoln paragraph alone, lol much of the time. Thanks for seeing where the boards were sticking out and forcing me to pound them in with a spoon. Aleister 12:33 10 11

I'd read it and see what you've done to it, but I'm afraid it'll put me to sleep again... at any rate, I'm glad it seems to have helped. ~ Pointy.png *shifty eyes* (talk) (stalk) -- 20101110 - 18:14 (UTC)

Oh, hello, there. Certainly, mon. Certainly... mind, I don't actually know what I'm doing. Never adopted anyone before. Guess that makes you my (un?)lucky first... now, I'll just add some relevant templates around, become horribly confused, berate you about this and that, stare blankly at your article, get drunk and go hide in a corner. Yes, that should sum it up. Yes, indeed...
Er, in all seriousness... of course. You may need to bear with me in that I'm as new to this as you, but certainly don't hesitate to ask questions, don't worry about making mistakes, and here's the key to the liquor cabinet. And that article... my, my... you two are as insane as I am, perhaps more... this could be interesting.
Oh, and one more thing - remember to sign your comments with four tildes, thusly: ~~~~ Cheers. ~ Pointy.png *shifty eyes* (talk) (stalk) -- 20101110 - 18:33 (UTC)
I feel wonderful, now that I'm adopted, I have a reason to go get wasted, end up on my face, and do some hardcore sport that only sounds appealing when your drunk, fun! Wha are these things called tildes, I do believe you aught to call them by their proper name, squiggly lines. TurtleSandbox 19:34, November 15, 2010 (UTC)
Wasted, eh? Well, don't hurt yourself. Seriously, I have no idea what to do when people hurt themselves... well, besides harvest organs, but if I did that to my own adoptee, that'd just look bad...
Proper name, though? That all depends on what you consider proper, eh? I mean, the formal name is actually Great Squggly Tilda Emphasisy Thingymabbobery Whatmajigger, did you know that? Some people just call them 'that key over there', mind, which actually works surprisingly well. ~ Pointy.png *shifty eyes* (talk) (stalk) -- 20101115 - 20:34 (UTC)

If an admin would show up they could ban Mr. 92 guy, for a few minutes at least. Or Mr. 92 could actually use one of his accounts and come play nice with us, he's pretty creative but gets a rush out of causing other people work, which is kind of an asshole thing to do. It might be a rush to be at cause over people running around after you, but, Mr. IP, with your creative potential, making other people work is kind of below you. Aleister 1:55 11 11

But alright. I'll find another image to make hidey. And I need something to put for the hamster section or the 'Fuck ChiefjusticeDS' section itself, any ideas?
Who knows... does it really matter? ~ Pointy.png *shifty eyes* (talk) (stalk) -- 20101112 - 00:36 (UTC)
I better go look at your pop ups, I didn't scan for those. That's why they're so fun, it's like a hidden story under the story, or an entirely different page on the page if done well. I think the science is in its infancy, and when Hyperbole gets hold of it the popups will be like a Piccasso painting or a Sinead O'Connor masterpiece. Aleister 00:39 12 11
Great hamster pop-up! lolol, my first lol at a popup since the Lincoln section. I did an expansion of the other, and enlarged the pic, but I dunno, such a great illustration could be used out front and another one for the pop up? Just reviewin'. Fuck Chief Justice, that's whatI always say. Aleister 00:48 12 11
Hmm... let's see. Unlike the hamster, that one really might as well come out, aye... but the thing needs another. Nurg. And is it? ~ Pointy.png *shifty eyes* (talk) (stalk) -- 20101112 - 01:11 (UTC)

Welcome!

Uncyclopediamagic.jpg
Witness the magic of Uncyclopedia!

Hello Lyrithya, and welcome to Uncyclopedia! Thank you for registering an account. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. If not, the door's right over there... no, a little more to your left... Yes. You seem to have a sense of humor, but to be sure that it corresponds to the kind of humor that is accepted on this site, I suggest checking out the following links:

  • Beginner's Guide - A massive guide about how to be the best you can be at Uncyclopedia. I've honestly never read the whole thing in one sitting myself, but it is very useful if you're looking for help on a specific issue.
  • How to be funny and not just stupid - Our flagship link. This will tell you how to not get booed off the metaphorical stage that is Uncyclopedia. I STRONGLY suggest reading the entire thing through, perhaps more than once.
  • Our Vanity Policies - This page details why we don't care about your friends, your school, your gay fourth period math teacher, or the homework he has you do, and in-jokes. DO NOT violate these rules.
  • Uncyclopedia:Best of - For a bit of inspiration. These are our featured articles. This is the kind of stuff we like to read around here.

Now that that's out of the way, just continue reading and you'll notice some more links. These ones are about help in general:

At Uncyclopedia, writing articles is not a requirement, but I do recommend it, it can be quite enjoyable, and it's a good chance to let others take notice of your writing. To write an article, it's recommended that you start it in your userspace (for example, User:Lyrithya/Article about stuff) so you can edit it at your leisure. If you decide to create it in the cold world of mainspace, make sure it is in accordance with the policies laid out above, and if you're not done put the "Work-In-Progress" template - {{construction}} - onto it as well.

If you want to write and don't know where to begin, consider browsing our rewrite and idea categories. There's also a page with requested articles, if you'd rather start from scratch. We have lots of articles and red links just sitting around waiting to be edited, so don't be afraid - dive right in!

If you need help, ask me on my talkpage, ask at the Dump, or ask an administrator on their talkpage. Additionally, the Adopt-a-Noob program is there to bring experienced editors straight to you. Simply leave a message on an adopter's talkpage to join. I hope you enjoy editing here and being an Uncyclopedian, and remember: Have fun with it. We're all here to have a good time and a good laugh. Please sign your name on talkpages using four tildes (~~~~) or use the "sign" button (Button_sig.png) above the edit box. Again, welcome!

Mmm, eventually, certainly. I was going to wait until after I got a thorough review, though, and flamingo said he would, so once he does and I give it another go-over, it'll be most interesting to see what happens on VFH. Most interesting, indeed. Should I give you a call when it's ready? ~ Pointy.png *shifty eyes* (talk) (stalk) -- 20101115 - 04:10 (UTC)
Symbol for vote.svg For. eventually. And thanks for the header on the Sog Forum, I didn't even know a header thing existed. I'd worked the page on user space and then just moved it, so I guess it didn't show up on Forum. The cake is very tasty too. Aleister 14:48 15 11
Oh, well... that explains that. The header is important, as it puts it in the forum proper, or some such. *nods sagely* But you voted for the original, too! And what Chief and Mordillo will actually do, after what they did with the original... oh, this should be so fun. *beams* ~ Pointy.png *shifty eyes* (talk) (stalk) -- 20101115 - 15:07 (UTC)

Flamingo and Romartus each pointed out some rather useful stuff, so it's not like I don't have somewhere to go with them. I'm just... lazy... I'll do it this weekend. I hope. Sorry. Mmmkay, so perhaps I'm missing something entirely, but what, even, is the point? Why have this army of... erm, grues, at all? Many of us do this clean-up stuff and helpfulness stuff without any organisation at all, just fine, and yet you are trying to solicit those especially (and being turned down by them, as well, apparently), when what good would bringing them in actually do? If anything, dealing with the effective bureaucracy would only slow them down, as they would have to stop and consider what they're up to at each turn. Should you not be specifically targeting prospectives among those who are not so effective at this sort of thing, but that show potential or could be brought around to care? They would be able to learn from it and both you and they would have so much much more to gain in the long run than the prospective publicity from the presence of those who would be doing this stuff anyway...

"Old" Glenn Beck

The old Glenn Beck page was a large and complete article, so it should find a new name and then it can be linked to the present new page. I hadn't seen it before, a complete page in need of help but not huffable, imnho. Thoughts? Ponderings? Aleister 2:17 18 11

Mmm, my impression was that the polite thing to do in such cases is rewrite the article in userspace and then get folks to decide if it should replace the old, unlike what this fellow did... then if folks think it is a decent replacement, archive the old and link it on the talkpage. Although I could be wrong.
Frankly, though, I think both of these suck. Mind, it could just be a major case of my just missing something, but anyway, I'm completely the wrong person to ask anything about either of them. ~ Pointy.png *shifty eyes* (talk) (stalk) -- 20101118 - 02:22 (UTC)
I don't know, as I didn't realize a full Glenn Beck page existed. Same with the old Batman page, which I've put up just now as Batman (person) thanks to the idea of 90s Kid21 who suggested naming the old Glenn Beck page as Glenn Beck (person). That seems like it would do. Neither page is Gone With The Wind, but neither was War and Peace. Aleister 2:30 18 11
Well, they're always in the edit histories, too, as you well know... but who bothers looking for such things? And for that matter, is it even worth it? ~ Pointy.png *shifty eyes* (talk) (stalk) -- 20101118 - 02:32 (UTC)
Is any of this really worth it? Nah, but fun while we do it. If Glenn Beck (person) is there, it can be linked to other pages as well as the new Glenn Beck. And so on. Aleister 2:36 18 11
Eh, fair enough. Technically, nothing is actually worthwhile, anyhow. *goes back to painting a dead trout purple* ~ Pointy.png *shifty eyes* (talk) (stalk) -- 20101118 - 02:39 (UTC)

What's a dehydrator? Well, I mean, clearly it dehydrates things, but how? What for? Where can I get one? ~ Pointy.png *shifty eyes* (talk) (stalk) -- 20101118 - 03:12 (UTC)
How would I know? But if I did know, it dehydrates food things, like fruit, so the fruit becomes tiny and like some kind of candy fruit. Aleister 3:14 18 11

Weird. That I haven't said hi for awhile. Weird. That you haven't been banned yet for your Chinese Toiletman sock or whatever you named it. Fuckin' Weird. That Protagonist hasn't gotten 20 votes yet. Weird. Could you point out a two or three or a few places where transistions need to be, and what would you suggest? Actually, what am I saying, this is a Frat page, so go do it yourself. Weird. That you haven't. Aleister Weird 20:11 22 11

It may be a frat page, but it belongs to you two... I guess I'm afraid I'll mess it up at this point. I may or may not get around to it later, then... ~ Pointy.png *shifty eyes* (talk) (stalk) -- 20101122 - 20:16 (UTC)
We raise our glasses of beer and whiskey to you, frat member Lyrithya, who has come on board the frat collab and proved that six minds are better than two. Hail, hail, all hail Lyrithya! Nice work, and if by some miracle it gets featured, you get one of those fancy blue templates to toss overboard with the rest of them you've earned. Hail, hail, pizza in a pail! Aleister 11:53 23 11
Shouldn't frat articles have a little thingy indicating that they are? Is this one? If it is, I'll add the thingy... or something. No, I have no idea what I'm talking about, do you?
An 'and I helped' template, eh? What are those even for, exactly? ~ Pointy.png *shifty eyes* (talk) (stalk) -- 20101123 - 12:09 (UTC)
Frat thingy, sure, pin it on there. And I meant a feature template, that you can paste up somewhere to show you've written a feature. I hide mine behind doors and guardians, unless you have direct access, and even then. . . Aleister 12:14 23 11
I didn't write any of it, though. ~ Pointy.png *shifty eyes* (talk) (stalk) -- 20101123 - 12:15 (UTC)
I thought you made the changes to fix whatever someone complained about, and did things to other things. Since it's a frat collab, if you made any major contribution it is your page. And I see some extra words laying about in there, so you are a liar whose pants, if you look down, happen to be on fire. Aleister moments later
I did formatting. That's hardly major. And I'm not wearing pants.
Anyhow, you can add the points for completing the article and whatnot for you and Flamingo; I dunno how that part of ΥΣΣ even works. ~ Pointy.png *shifty eyes* (talk) (stalk) -- 20101123 - 12:25 (UTC)

Well, that explains that, then. >.< ~ Pointy.png *shifty eyes* (talk) (stalk) -- 20101123 - 12:30 (UTC)
And I Spy extra words and things. So put some pants on and light them up. Points? I (seriously) don't even know how to find the frat pages, Skinfan has them listed in no logical order with no links and hides them among his user pages like woodchuck burrows in a crowded woods. Aleister 12:29 23 11
Formatting can be in the form of slightly more words... but putting on pants would require that I find them, and that'd take effort.
Eh, whatever. More important is that you made a lovely. ~ Pointy.png *shifty eyes* (talk) (stalk) -- 20101123 - 16:32 (UTC)

Frankly, I don't care what the IP did to the article; what you are doing is effectively further vandalism. Adding a large, ugly template to the top of an article about something to which the template is not even related is simply not helpful, and only detriments the article itself. Add to that your reasoning - making a point to an IP which was already reverted at best only invites further vandalism; the target will doubtfully come back and see it, but others who do see it might consider it as a reward for vandalising that or other article, a sort of 'look what I did' except as a 'look what I got put on that', in this case a large template with rather silly numbers on it, evidence I would typically take that a person should perhaps read HTBFANJS.
Subsequently, I have reverted you again. ~ Pointy.png *shifty eyes* (talk) (stalk) -- 20101125 - 02:05 (UTC)

Good for Romartus, but the page was great as it lay. No, the Potatochopper is earned, this month or next, so might as well make it now and not drag it out. You do great chops, and have been doing so for awhile, so why not. Other things may weigh, but you went through that one too, so I'll toss that over to the nommer. And I do promise to get onto that Protagonist review, we will make it a feature someday, if it fails this time then next. Generally someone needs to be online and to notice... Aleister would know more. ~ Pointy.png *shifty eyes* (talk) (stalk) -- 20101126 - 02:29 (UTC)
Me? Not really. I think Happytimes is running Colonization now, so that's where to go. And a few of us better work on Dinosaur before we lose it to the sands of time and it, itself, becomes fossilized. Aleister 2:35 26 11
p.s. And no one even commented on my pic and caption of the cat in the lime, above. One of my best captions here, I do believe, thank you,/bows, thank you.
I think it might have been better if you said: "Put the lime on the catanut" --Wanna see a magic trick? 02:41, November 26, 2010 (UTC)
Apologies, Aleister... the kitties are so... catly. Sometimes I just get entranced and stare, and when it is all over, forget everything... meow meow. Catanut, eh? ~ Pointy.png *shifty eyes* (talk) (stalk) -- 20101126 - 03:42 (UTC)
Felime. --Black Flamingo 13:04, November 26, 2010 (UTC)
Mmm, now that one I could go for... ~ Pointy.png *shifty eyes* (talk) • (stalk) -- 20101126 - 17:46 (UTC)

Userpage

Why did you moved your userpage? --M&M (also known as Mimo&maxus) What do you want? Wanna see my balls? 17:21, November 26, 2010 (UTC)

Because I could! ~ Pointy.png *shifty eyes* (talk) • (stalk) -- 20101126 - 17:22 (UTC)
Alright then, I'm sorry that I care. M&M (also known as Mimo&maxus) What do you want? Wanna see my balls? 17:26, November 26, 2010 (UTC)
Aww, poor dear. *huggles* Although apparently it has already prevented a vandalism... interesting. ~ Pointy.png *shifty eyes* (talk) • (stalk) -- 20101126 - 17:28 (UTC)
But It is confusing M&M (also known as Mimo&maxus) What do you want? Wanna see my balls? 17:34, November 26, 2010 (UTC)
I'm sorry. Would you like me to put it back, then? >.< ~ Pointy.png *shifty eyes* (talk) • (stalk) -- 20101126 - 17:37 (UTC)
I don't want to destroy your plans. But I warn you. My brain is small and can't find the way to your user page. If I'll try to do that my brain may explode. --M&M (also known as Mimo&maxus) What do you want? Wanna see my balls? 17:43, November 26, 2010 (UTC)
Unfortunately, as I appear to have misplaced something related, this may take awhile. I apologise for the inconvenience. ~ Pointy.png *shifty eyes* (talk) • (stalk) -- 20101126 - 17:45 (UTC)

Um...

You do know your userpage is missing, right? --High Gen. Meganew (Stuff I've Done) (Chat With Me) (Get an Award!) FORCES ENLIST MUN 17:41, November 26, 2010 (UTC)

Really? I hadn't noticed. Odd... wonder where it could have gone... ~ Pointy.png *shifty eyes* (talk) • (stalk) -- 20101126 - 17:43 (UTC)
What's the point of moving your userpage to a subsidiary of your talk page? --High Gen. Meganew (Stuff I've Done) (Chat With Me) (Get an Award!) FORCES ENLIST MUN 17:47, November 26, 2010 (UTC)
The red link, of course. Why else would I do that? ~ Pointy.png *shifty eyes* (talk) • (stalk) -- 20101126 - 17:48 (UTC)
Yeah of course. What's more natural than moving your userpage in order to see red links? --M&M (also known as Mimo&maxus) What do you want? Wanna see my balls? 17:52, November 26, 2010 (UTC)
Few things, I fear. Few things. ~ Pointy.png *shifty eyes* (talk) • (stalk) -- 20101126 - 17:55 (UTC)
Why did you locked your talk page? You don't want anyone to talk to you? --M&M (also known as Mimo&maxus) What do you want? Wanna see my balls? 18:33, November 26, 2010 (UTC)
No wait. You didn't. --M&M (also known as Mimo&maxus) What do you want? Wanna see my balls? 18:35, November 26, 2010 (UTC)
This is getting confusing... High Gen. Meganew (Stuff I've Done) (Chat With Me) (Get an Award!) FORCES ENLIST MUN 19:13, November 26, 2010 (UTC)
I wonder what does she fear? She didn't tell us. --M&M (also known as Mimo&maxus) What do you want? Wanna see my balls? 19:16, November 26, 2010 (UTC)
I'm sorry. I forgot how to archive stuff, and did it wrong. I'll get it right next time, I swear... now get off my archive! ~ Pointy.png *shifty eyes* (talk) • (stalk) -- 20101126 - 19:21 (UTC)
