Any particular reason why you're not always capitalising the beginnings of your sentences? And 'You see because here at uncyclopedia tend to frown apon that.' is just bad grammar. 'You see because needs' a comma, and who exactly is frowning? And the whole slitting folks' throats is just silly; no actual feasible way to do that.

Also, the sentences you added are still pretty choppy, and you randomly switch between singular and plural speakers - are you 'I' or 'we'?. Try to vary your structure a little more, will you? And smileys? What are you, trying to be friendly after the death threat? 1234 ~ 02:58, 29 December 2010

Jimbo Banners

Say Ms. L, would you have time to refresh the banners (ie - make new grahpics for 2011?) I want to advertise the upcoming PLS more aggressively, the 2010 WOTY, UOTY POTY etc and the Top Ten Vote. Although I was actually writing a review between random bouts of other sidetrackery, since this job lends itself so well to multitasking. And I really should get that done first, as while Chief said he's currently probably not going to ban any of us consistent reviewers for not getting them done when we say we will, it still doesn't make it any nicer for the person who actually wanted the review to have to wait even longer than we say it'll take... though I usually don't get them done when I say I will, anyway. In fact, I almost never do... my excuses suck, too. "I, er, got sidetracked and went on a page-blanking spree," for instance...

Red Screen of Death

Hey Lyrithya,

I am unsure of who to contact or what exactly should be done on the matter, but there are two articles that are named "Red screen of death": Red Screen of Death is the older one, and Red screen of death was created yesterday. I tried contacting the author of the latter, Pent9, however they haven't done anything yet.

I know it was only yesterday that I mentioned it to them, but I am not sure if that article should go to VFD or if I would be right in replacing Red screen of death with a redirect to Red Screen of Death, since the one that is fully capitalized seems to have a bit more work put into it, and is the original. Well, having two articles on the same thing isn't really a problem so long as they're sufficiently different and not too awful; we do have a Islam and a Muslim, for instance, although that's not a very good example. Best I could think of, but anyway... these two, on the other hand... as it is, they're kind of... not good. Either of them. That does make things more interesting.

But bad articles under a week old go to QVFD, not VFD; that's for older ones, and articles with {{ICU}}s, {{Construction}}s, etc are generally exempt from QVFD since those templates expire anyway and are generally checked by admins to see if they (still) deserve deleting (or other removal from mainspace) at the end...

So might as well leave this one be. Folks rewrite existing articles fairly often, though this isn't the best way about it, perhaps this fellow can get his better with some work; I left him a note on his talkpage that may or may not effectively explain what he'll need to do if he does, but if he doesn't fix it up, it'll probably fall victim to the {{construction}} he stuck on it, anyhow. So it should work out either way.

Yes, it is evil. You can try [1] but I prefer to just select all (Ctrl+A on PC & Mac), although Safari for mobile won't show you the text, so you might have to cut and paste to another document. You type your name, then some numbers, and then you throw them into a blender. Turn the blender on, wait around (you can watch the stuff go around in the blender, and maybe add some colors in there), and then turn it off. Ta da! Just link that to some real tiny box in your preference section, and you've got a signature. Here is my fancy signature, I don't use it much. ~   4:23 4 1 '11

Aleister, you... eh, mcpee, you'll probably want to read UN:SIG... but what you need to do is create a template in your userspace, say, User:Maniac mcpee/sig, that contains the relevant parts and follows the rule-y things... (nothing too crazy, basically) ...or Mordillo might explode. Or possibly I will. Actually, him exploding might be better, since he's an admin and can actually resort to practical matters, whereas I am not and thus tend to resort to impractical matters. I painted a guy's cat green, once. No joke. I did. He was very distraught afterwards, but vengeance was mine, and it... er... I digress, sorry.

Anyway, once you have your signature template, just put {{User:Maniac mcpee/sig}} in the signature thing in your preferences, make sure the 'custom signature' box is checked, and wa la... that should do it. I think. I don't see how you can get a for; as I said, I just don't understand that sort of thing at all. Perhaps it is just what UU described as 'obvious', perhaps something else, but... eh. The disorder and jumpiness of the thing are problematic in of themselves, and the layout is really kind of ugly. Some images too big, some too small, some pages long, some short... not much consistency even in the format. I'd like to answer that request as though it were addressed to me.

1. Ease up on the Uncyclopedia memes. We're sick of them. Lose the "epic fail" stuff, lose the "nobody cares" stuff, and, frankly, lose the "USERNAME" template.
2. Try to make the article actually resemble a how-to guide. That is, attempt to sound authoritative rather than like wacky twelve-year-old. Try to sound helpful instead of implying that the reader is stupid. Don't say "Who cares?"
3. Rewrite the ending to make sense. The glass breaks, you fail, and you collect $70 from your friend for winning the bet. That, friend, does not make sense.

In sum: start over. Except for the picture of the broken glass. That might be useful, as long as it's actually in the article and not hanging off the end. pillow talk 18:29, January 5, 2011 (UTC)

Anyhow, Chopper, fella, he's not wrong, though I wouldn't go so far as to say to start over; you have a definite idea here. You need to flesh it out better, however. Along with his specifics, making it read like a reasonable, normal howto of something folks would actually want to do would make it a lot funnier in of itself, since it really is so ridiculous a notion, and folks appreciate irony, you know?

But for now, you may even want to continue with what you're doing - learn by doing, see just what all works and doesn't. Not necessarily a good idea, but I've found it fun to work with doomed articles and concepts before without even doing anything about why they're doomed... maybe I just like doom.

Whatever you do, don't give up on it, though. Although you may want to suspend the review request until you have a little more...

Actually, I was a little afraid I didn't explain as well as I wanted too for a review, but oh well, I'm sure you'll discover that whenever you find time to get to it. Even if an article is good, there are usually things that can be made better, after all. If there really aren't any, it should be on VFH already and there wouldn't be much use for a review, you know?

Complaints

I had heard that yesterday's feature had an inspiring UnNews Audio associated with it, but it transfers at 0 bytes. This isn't your fault, and I don't know who runs this, but I figure you might. Other UnNews Audios transfer successfully. Do they disable audios from FAs, just in case the audio is not as feature-worthy as the text?!

Separately, does your VFH vote on Flint, Michigan mean you're never actually going to read it? It is a breezier trip than KDE.

That seems to be a wikia problem with files in general - sometimes they just... aren't actually on whatever server the system thinks they should be on, or something. Usually the files show up after a few hours, though... at least with images. Audio files may be different. It didn't show up at all, even at the beginning? Did you ask sannse? She might be able to get someone to do something about it, though if it is what I think it is, it has been going on for months with sundry complaints throughout.

They use a lossy compression algorithm that was designed with photographs in mind - it actually works fairly well when it comes to size and still being able to tell what things are for those, but looks bloody awful with anything else, and either way, the data is lost.
