I don't even know... if the person can make it good, it's usually not an issue; there be plenty of offensive pages lying about, but they do need to be actually funny. Is it? I'm too tired to tell. Er... sorry about that... it was just so... ugly. So many red links. So many misplaced commas... so much random. Glad you lot seem to have largely resolved this, although indeed, working in userspace is usually a better bet in general, but if you do want to work on these things in mainspace, just use a {{construction}} and it probably won't be bothered. I've only been on here a couple weeks and I have been a dick, had my article deleted, and done some illegal things on here (that I am still not sure how I did it). I keep re-reading all the guides, pamphlets, and brochures - yet I still feel like a 'tard.

I am hoping you can help me out because I feel my job doesn't pay me enough to do the actual work they hired me to do here, so I have a lot of time to spare Monday - Friday in front of a computer. In a sense, I get paid to be here, so I would like dedicate my 40 hour workweek to this community writing well laid articles and editing the ones that could be better. just need some direction.

I'm a terrible adopter. Terribly unhelpful, too. Terribly lazy. Chief is... well, I don't know; he wouldn't adopt me. Tends to be helpful, though... quite helpful. That said, you don't really have to be formally adopted by anyone, just ask whoever seems like they'd know if you have specific questions, that kind of thing... although it can be nice. Designated go-to person, of sorts.

But anyhoo... where do your interests lie in general? There's certainly plenty to do around here, and I must say I rather approve of your use of company time, as that's exactly what I'd be doing if I hadn't lost my job for what I swear were completely unrelated reasons...

Yeah, I realize that. NN was a prefix of a Nynorsk Uncyclopedia as well as it's a prefix of Nynorsk Wikipedia. It was in my freshly downloaded bot that I've been testing both on Polish Uncy and here. I have learnt a valuable lesson...

I feel all nooby. I so totally get the importance of listing sources now. I made that kingfisher pic several years, several pc's and several countries ago. And hence those files could be anywhere. I tried googling but I could only find the bird, which made clear to me why the wings look so crap, it was a terrible photo to have used. You can use the "move" tab to do that - it should be somewhere up at the top of your screen, along with "user page," "discussion" and so on. Enter "UnNews: Deranged scientist shocks world, himself." (without quotation marks) in the "new title" box and click to ok it. I would suggest you go over your text one last time first, however. Problem

There is a pretty serious problem here Lyrith. I just finished teaching your army of rodents cypriot greek and now they are spending the whole day philosophising and building shrines to made up gods. Far worse, the men spend most of the days chasing after the beautiful boy squirrel soldiers...and its gotten to the point where they simply wont procreate naturally, thus grow in size. Serenity's Pee Review

Hi Lyrithya, I almost forgot to thank you for reviewing serenity! Spike helped me a lot with developing the concept. I wrote the bulk of the article, and Spike wrote some bits and pieces. I think those pieces might be what seems a bit off the wall when compared with the rest of the article.

I was going to see if Spike and I could get it to feature-status together. However, since he's left us to write Bat Boy and Armageddon articles for Weekly World News (I miss him...), I figured I would finish it for us. I'll be working on it per your critique, and if you see anything at all you can contribute to it, feel free! It might be just an obscure joke like lemon curry right now, but it's my baby and I want it to grow big and strong and featured someday! Anyway, thanks for your help, have another cheesecake!

What you've recreated is also a lot better than what was before; looked like a bad wikipedia copy-pasta, although you should still probably work on the formatting of that article, as well as overall humour - what ideas are you trying to get across? And local or no, Uncyclopedia itself is rather global, mind, so how will other audiences see it? You can target a primary audience, but that doesn't mean it cannot have appeal to outsiders as well. But if those images are from the thing itself, what is yours about it? Where is the parody or the satire or whatnot? Just copying something and putting it somewhere else doesn't qualify as fair use, either. What would, however, and what might be funny aside from the humour of the thing itself, would be to change them, or to make new ones mimicking the style. Copy how they tend to be, but change something to make a point - look at xkcd; that's what Meep did, mocking trends within the comic... maybe here you could, instead of having them be suicidally going to their deaths, by trying to get other bunnies to do that? Turn it into some sort of trial book that the rabits go through before making before the main ones that are the real thing, or something. I dunno; it's just an idea. Even though we are endlessly fighting in IRC for various reasons you're still pretty chill. But I do have one thing to ask: could you stop using vague edit summaries? That's not to say they can't be amusing, like Zombiebaron's famous "The tribunal has spoken." for VFD'd articles and the like, they just have to be clear what they are. Right now they just look like a confused schizophrenic who stumbled onto Uncyclopedia. "Cake?", "I'm confused", and such don't really tell us anything, and believe it or not people do use page histories and logs from time to time to trace what happened to an article. Mmm, it kind of contradicts itself, first saying he's still on the run, then saying he's in prison and resisted arrest... that was quick. But seriously, probably be best to just pick one.

In general, though... I dunno, doesn't really seem a feature to me, at least not yet. Vague in bits when it could be making jokes, saying stuff not overly newslike - if it's the news, why does it mention how it's in the news? And it just skips over things, leaving out how it got from one thing to another, like what I first mentioned. Just read through it, develop your jokes more if you can, and make sure everything makes sense; that's all I can really advise.

Nobody here is paid to do anything, we do everything as volunteers, we offer our opinions and if they disagree with someone else's that does not mean they are haters. I have been a fly on the wall for much of this adoption and feedback issue. I saw an eager new user ask Lyrithya to adopt him, she tried very hard to dissuade him, he persisted. When he asked for feedback and it was given, he did not seem to like it. Asked for more, and more and more, to the point, some people got annoyed. The behavior was described as being annoying (which by its very nature is defined by the one being annoyed). Eg: if someone else's behavior annoys me, then that person is being annoying. It is by its very nature subjective. If you are referred to as annoying by some, instead of denying such, try and figure out what it is that is annoying the accuser. Most of the behavior I have seen has been what I call "kids in the pool" the "look at me mom, I am jumping off the diving board" or "Look at me mom, I splashed my sister". the constant need to guidance or assurance that our mother is watching and paying attention to us. But we are not children. This is an adult site. certainly there are a lot of teen agers that provide very effective edits and writings, but also do not require excessive guidance. If they do, they are often labeled "annoying" and ultimately put off the site. Why? because people come to this site to be entertained. Either by reading or writing for other people's entertainment. When it becomes a job, it stops being fun.

None of this really matters. If your article is featured and is the best thing written since the UN:N Big fat hairy deal. Its just scriblins on papyrus that may put a smile on a few thousand faces. Its not worth raising any blood pressure. Perspective. Lyrithya I am sorry for putting this huge treatise on your talk page. I will say at least it is not a Youtube video. Although, that gets me thinking.

About being featured. That is a huge honor. do you know how many editors are registered on this site? approximately 34 trillion. Do you know how many articles have been featured? Capital G. Those odds are pretty steep against anything you have written every getting featured. And guess what, if it does get featured, (d0n't klik). Really, its like the perfect attendance award at school. You still have to go to your job the next day, food still costs money, and you do not get a free butler. you get some text in {{}} to put on your user page, which no one but you will ever look at with any regularity. Write for the love. Write for the self satisfaction. I couldn't agree more with Kevillips, this "glory" thing is the source of all the drama here. When my 1st article was featured, I thought it would always be easy, and got very disappointed when my second article was trashed off VFH. Now I write for the love, feature or not is not what you have to think about when you write. And you have to be able to take critics: after all, if the criticism is always 100% positive, it does not give you the incentive to improve. I understand how the site works better and certainly it does not evolve around a single user; how utterly boring would such a site be? Nor is it a competition. But I'm not blaming you. The fact remains, however, that there's a 50% chance that the article Abortion will display a box with a red link in it which reads "Hanger.gif" (the article uses a <choose>-tag, in which this image is one of two options, hence the 50% chance). Checking the logs of this image, it looks like you were responsible for its huffing, at the time of which this image was already being used in the article, contrary to what your huff reason suggests (is this sentence correct English?). So would you please restore it, or, if it is a duplicate of File:Wire coat hanger.jpg (which is the other option in the choose tag), say so, in which case I will remove the choose/option thingy from the article. Yeah, you're right, I figured out that the picture inside the choose does not make the page appear on the list of pages the picture is used on. Problem is, I thought I had checked that before I posted on your talk page, for some reason I thought that this could not have been the problem and that the page "Abortion" was indeed listed on the picture page. I must have been on drugs, though I can't remember taking any. And why did I edit conflict you, these were two separate section edits, how should I edit them in one edit other than a complete talk page edit. I thought the purpose of section edits is to prevent edit conflicts. However, when I edited this section before and clicked "Show changes", it showed two lines from the next section ("yiya") which I apparently would have deleted with this section edit (!), which actually contradicts this philosophy and also totally confused me. No, that's the image that was in the logo that I didn't bother changing because there'd be no point, what with all the caching and all. Whither Lollipop?

I've been thinking about this idea for a while. I don't know if it would be the right idea to do this. I decided to get an unhonest opinion. On February 19, 2011, I became Lollipop after decideing to abandon the account Maniac mcpee. Now, nearly June, i'm thinking if I should go back. I mean, as Puppy said to me before I became Lollipop: "As for the re-creation of yourself as another entity - it's probably a good idea. I'd like to see you mature somewhat as a writer as well - or failing that do a bit of work on potato-chopping, coding or reviewing, or even just general site maintenance." For POTR's words there, which can be seen here, I feel I have matured a bit as a writer (one article was nommed to VFH, didn't make it), I have become a better potatochopper (check out this, and that in terms of site maintenance I have become a rollback. But now i'm starting to feel that Lollipop is like some LSD trip that I had. And now i'm waking up as Maniac mcpee. I am not sure if this is a good idea and I need your opinion on it. My thoughts, it does not matter. You are still you. Whether MM or LP, nobody cares what you call yourself. Makeovers are all just superficial whether you add new breasts, hair extensions, but implants, the person inside does not change. Lollipop, you are you, forget Maniac mcpee. Switching accounts just makes things more confusing than they already are. An exception was made to change sine Maniac was so maniacal, but I for one will consider anything you do other than Lollipop to be a sock puppet. You know how that is frowned upon. Just work on being the best user you can be. Finish what you start, work selflessly on fixing, try to steer away from drama, and keep away from that <insert name here>, he/she has been your downfall.
