PLS just ended. It was a whole schmole of fun and brings energy to the website no? Competitions are great and it would be good to keep the energy up. I loved happy monkeys competition back in August. I think it would be nice to do it agian. Id like to organise it (it doesnt have to be called happy monkey competition, as hes away, but its a great name for one and if no one has an objection Ill call it that and I did agree to help him with the next one which he was planning to do). For those of you who didnt participate, it was a 24 hour competition, in which users were randomly paired and gave each other topics moments before the competition began. There were about a dozen competitors. It would be nice to do it at the beginning of spring, 3 or 4 weeks. Any comments about the idea? Tired of competitions (there cant be too many and its less formal that pls), dont think I should call it Happy Monkey Competition? Lameness all around? --Shabidoo 00:02, February 18, 2011 (UTC)

Hmm.I'd have to think about that for a while. Is there any kind of stirring up drama competition, I think I'd be good at that. User:Mrthejazz/sig 05:02, February 18, 2011 (UTC)
Sounds gooth. And the name "Happy Monkey Competition" seems fine, as it not only homages HM but also describes a bunch of happy writers. And the same rules seem fine too, rules thought up by crazy people. Aleister 5:15 18-2-'11
Zombie, Id suggest merging the two competitions but the happy monkey competition is only a 24 hour one, and wouldnt mix well with yours? As for stirring up drama competition, it sounds like a whole lot of fun, it you guys can give me 24 hour access to blocking users I could probably piss off everyone here and stir up even more stuff. IF you think that having it at the beginning of March will affect your competition then Ill wait till april but dont forget its only a 24 hour thing (thoguh maybe should be 48 hours ?¿?¿?¿ ... waiting until April is not such a big deal As you like :) --Shabidoo 11:30, February 18, 2011 (UTC)
Let's have a "which competition should we do next" competition to decide. --Black Flamingo 11:46, February 18, 2011 (UTC)

The Happy Monkey Competition gave users a 24-hour window to write an article, and many features came from it. It played on a concept of Dr. Skullthumper's one-hour competition. Neither of these was that big a deal in terms of announcing and organizing, I think Skull's had a couple of hours notice and the Happy Monkey a day's advance notice for people to sign up and pair off for the "Here's your topic" part. So I'd say don't make a big deal out of scheduling it, just do it, like next Wednesday or something, and announce it now. Spirit of the monkey, Aleister 12:06 18-2-'11

Okay agreed. So either next wednesday for 24 hours or next weekend for 48 hours. What do you think? --Shabidoo 14:11, February 18, 2011 (UTC)
Got a proposal, maybe we go instead to the Sudden Death version (see This). I personally thought it was more fun because it was even more hectic. ~Jewriken.GIF 15:05, February 18, 2011 (UTC)
See what you mean, writing in 1 hour, a kind of Kamikaze thing is pretty fun. Buuuuut, in the interest of having more than a couple contestants, I think its best to have atleast 24 hours, cause of time zone differences. Why dont you run a sudden death competition too!?!?! Organise it an post it.

Te interesa ir a una fiesta en una casa esta noche guapa!¿

Or even better, help me out with this one by being a Judge, and Ill help you out with your idea by being a judge and admin stuff. Wudya think!? --Shabidoo 19:10, February 18, 2011 (UTC)
I'll be happy to help judging, depending on when you're planning to have it (I'm off next weekend) but the other tournament should probably wait for a while, too many at the same time tend to take the fun out of it. ~Jewriken.GIF 18:48, February 19, 2011 (UTC)
