The Republic of Mackarel (Also known as the Mackarel Statehood of the Eastern Reserves), is a country located in Central and Western Asia. It mostly consists of cats, and retardation.

History[edit | edit source]

Mackareli "cats" can be dated as far back as the Stone Age. Although most of the time, the native Mackareli territories are occupied by foreign powers, such as the Bri'ish, the Iraqis and worst of all, the Commies. It wasn't until 1956, some randomass dude (or a cat, whatever you call us) named Kippen "Arion" Ouses . Due to the fact most powers, holding the native lands didn't pay their catnip tax, a small militia consisting of the soon to be called "Mackarelis" was formed, led by the dude i said earlier.

Kippen himself, was inspired by radical ideas from Benito Mussolini, but later scrapped it due to being drunk at a bar. During their early years, Kippen's militia operated in jungles, oases and urban areas, most of the time without a proper name. It wasn't until somewhere in June of 1956 did he stuck with the name Garbehsanan Bige'nah (Translation: Felines of No Fuckery).

Culture[edit | edit source]

Holidays[edit | edit source]

Mackareli culture has many holidays and festivals.

Fish-Slapping Week[edit | edit source]

The Republic of Mackarel is most known for its Fish-Slapping Week, where every month, Mackarelis slap each other with day-old fish, usually trout or Magikarp. At the end of the week, they eat all of the fish and participate in Dijahlbol Thnewmeh (literally "bad breath competition").

Twelve Day[edit | edit source]

Every 12 years on 12 December, it is a tradition to wake up at 12:00, hang out in groups of 12, have scavenger hunts based on the number 12, and bake desserts shaped like the number 8. The holiday is usually celebrated by younger kittens who can't even count to 12.

Clothing[edit | edit source]

In Mackareli culture, all clothes except for hats are considered taboo, with some public places there not allowing cats to be clothed. Mackareli hats are usually made of cheese, which has led to internet memes making fun of tourists who eat hats.
