New parameter to suppress categories

I'm about to implement a fix. If this doesn't make sense, don't worry about it; nobody needs to do anything.

I noticed that on South Vietnam the page was tagged with Category:African countries, Category:Asian countries, Category:Australia, Category:European countries, Category:North American countries, and Category:South American countries. Obviously, only one of those is correct. Including {{World Countries}} on a page uses {{Africa}}, {{Asia}}, {{Australia}}, {{Europe}}, {{North America}}, and {{SouthAmerica}}; each of which categorize the page without looking. So what I'm doing is adding a new parameter |nocat to them. When set as |nocat=yes, the category is suppressed. And by editing {{World Countries}} after that, I remove pages from categories they shouldn't be in. Due to MediaWiki caching, the changes won't show up right away, but Ireland will be out of Category:Australia and that sort of thing. Dark Web, White Hat (talk) 03:37, 2 June 2021 (UTC)
