- Keep I dispute that this can be removed by VFD, but am fake "voting" to comment. Many notm "winners" have been encouraged to stay by winning this award. It's a fun award. A certain percentage of noobs will leave, award or not, win or lose the award or not. They edit for a few weeks, then get attracted to something else. A high percentage of NotM winners have stuck around and become very good users, and I would say that this award has held some of them here for those crucial extra weeks to get into the swing of the place. So the value is evident in the names of those who have won or come close to winning. And on the vote, I'd suggest that if a dozen people like the award, it should be kept. A 4 or 5 vote difference doesn't do it for something like this, if lots of users like it, it should stay. Maybe the best thing to come out of this would be some rule changes, and more encouragement to every nommed noobie. Aleister 3:14 30 7

- Keep. I would say it has a place, however i would say if you are still a noob you are eligable. limit it however to only one win if you won it you would not be eligable. the high point of this is you still have a spirit of competition. last months loser can try harder to get it the next month. if anything put a limit on how short of a time you can be here for you to be eligable. just an idea. - I fully, 100% understand the other side of this argument. A lot of BS comes from that award, and I would probably support some changes. But this is a selfish keep. I know that when I showed up, and got nominated, then won, it was a really great feeling, and had a lot to do with me sticking around. Sure, now I don't feel very highly of that award, but at the time, it was really good for me, and probably has the same effect on others as well. So, I say keep. Woody On Fire! - Nom and Retire. Noob of the Month is a hellhole of restrictive guidelines, exploitation potential, and a higher leaving-to-staying ratio than VFS. Most damaging of all are the restrictive and somewhat arbitrary guidelines that have disincentivized (thanks, Olipro) more new users than winning has actually incentivized (see: higher leaving-to-staying ration than VFS). This is why I suggest that we retire it and, as an addendum, give joint final awards to Lordarcadian, who is probably going to win, and Lyrinthia, who was disqualified by the minorest of technicalities and was also probably going to win, as they both fully deserve it. - Re:Aleister: "Enough people want it saved so it's savable by my criteria" means you have no criteria. Spıke ¬ 16:40 27-Jul-10
- I do so have criteria /stomps foot By this I mean that even if I don't find something funny or twisted satirical enough to keep, and lots of other people do, then I would defer to them on VFD. Not everyone's taste is the same, Uncy is a large classroom for that awareness, and so if I would snuff it on sight but five or six other established users like it, it's keepable, in my criteria. Aleister 18:52 27 7
- So what you're saying is that your criteria is that you have no criteria -- TKFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK 19:04, July 27, 2010 (UTC)
- Just looked its meaning up. If lots of users want to keep something, that would override my dislike of it, and it would pass my test, or my rules, for saving a page from deletion. Fits the defintion. That Butt Poop thing is a fine example, which is why I was riled up over it. Lots of people wanted it kept, but the numbers went against it. I do the same on VFH on articles which are country-centric or nationality. Maybe a sports player or actor is known everywhere but in my experience, so I won't zap a page with a no vote to cater to just my taste or knowledge. That's a strength of wiki's I honor, that they are worldwide forums and give us many points of view. Aleister 19:12 27 7

What needs to go: The final section on Towns is listcruft, and some list entries are merely puns. Drinking and drunk driving is a generic criticism that should go unless it can be related to something specific about Donegal--especially the section "Alcohol" in which the authors bask in their own reflected glory. - Keep. Kinda cute idea. The pic particularly. Needs work, but not hopeless. Plus, you should probably know who Giger is (he did the art for the Alien movies, and around about 80% of all computer game alien planet settings "homage" his work heavily). Delete. It would be easy to delete the Russian Reversal "joke." But: Who is HR Giger? Is this article vanity? If not, why is "Geiger" misspelled throughout the article? Who is Heronimous Bartholomew Pencil? If no one, why is he introduced? Why is the abbreviation for his name introduced for each of the 1 subsequent occurrences? Are we supposed to know what sound Bjork makes when she cums? What is the point of this article? Spıke ¬ 03:33 21-Jul-10
- H.R. Giger is a macabre artist who I find notable for supplying art to Celtic Frost's To Mega Therion and Triptykon's Eparistera Daimones. This article barely says anything about him. --Wilytank 11:09, July 21, 2010 (UTC)
- And Björk is a fairly successful Icelandic pop star famous for a high-pitched shriek of a voice. From this, it is possible to infer that there is a suggestion she makes an even more shrill noise when she cums. There are less amusing ideas in the world. HB Pencil is a (poor) joke about a type of (gasp) pencil, used in this case through a silly name. If you have a problem with silly names, take it up with Charles Dickens. Why are you not doing your research? ;-) --UU - natter 11:50, Jul 21
