You posted to my IP, criticizing my edits. I haven't edited anything here recently. If you actually do have a criticism of my edits, be specific. Unlike your generic complaints, I actually put thought into anything I edit. Perhaps you posted a message to my IP by mistake. But I won't assume that. Yes, I know about the four-tilda policy.
- I have not posted anything to your IP (that I can see). I asssure you that anything I do post is specific. Perhaps you are using a differet computer or IP at the moment. If possible could you leave a link to the message here so I can help there.:)--Sycamore (Talk) 12:33, 22 November 2008 (UTC)

Why was the fake category box on the Classic Oscar Wilde Page Deleted
Is there a reason why the fake category box was deleted?--Mnbvcxz 23:38, 28 October 2008 (UTC)
- The reason to have categories is to categorize - This is needed to keep the place running smoother and some of the maintenence jobs to be done - it would be preferable if you left this aspect of things alone, thanks.--Sycamore (Talk) 11:45, 29 October 2008 (UTC)

- ...dude, seriously, lay off. I don't know why you keep doing this. Trying to pretend you're a different person, or a different user? Actually, I'm not even sure if you're trying. Also, by the way, I put the VFD tag on that page. Mostly because of the way you're acting, but also because there was a better page out there. Come back when your ban is over and try again. --Mr. Monkey Pant-hoot here. 02:12, 31 October 2008 (UTC)
Articles by noobs
I've put construction templates onto UnNews:JD from scrubs gets stricken off medical record. It might have potential if the author bothers to come back and add more interesting content. How should I treat such stuff in future? Codeine gave me a Ninja Star. I try to live up to it and take a peek at Recent Changes from time to time. The trouble is I'm still a bit noobish. I don't know what to do with stuff that needs work to get it up to Uncyclopedia standard. Proxima Centauri 17:24, 31 October 2008 (UTC)
I would not put constuction templates on pages (thats generally speaking for the authors to do), I use ICUs - these are added like this {{ICU|~~~~~|sub=option}} with options like {{ICU|~~~~~|sub=encyclopedic}} for instance. However the article should ideall be tagged on the day of creation (although yo can tag within seven days, I have never done that though). For artices that are older you can use ones like {{Fix}}, {{Expand}} or {{Idea}}.
It is better to try and ICU though, and categorize if the article survives as once tagged otherwise poor articles tend to sit around (which is bad). Nice revert work by the way - I've seen you take down some real tossers. There is loads of stuff here (though you'll have to sift through until you find the stuff you want) UN:CP - you'll find loads of stuff you can do to help with the boring stuff. Hope this helps:)--Sycamore (Talk) 17:38, 31 October 2008 (UTC)
You briefly tickled the ivories, sir
Of the bastion of good taste that is BBC Radio 4. I know you are a fellow of refinement and I appreciate your improvements. If your bone is tickled then I am not so unself-centred and wary of the word "article-whore" to request a tiny tick in the appropriate VFH box. Yes, I'm really pleased with this, but there are a lot of Brit-centric, or even Brit-middle-class-centric gags in it, so it needs a bit of polish and support from fine upstanding citizens such as yourself. a few questions
hello sycamore,
i was wondering have you ever had any hassle with the fellows from wikipedia, about any copyright crap. the most of them seem to be highly opinionated and love blocking anything thats not mainstream they cant seem to give good reasons for this . have you ever put any of these sorry pricks down afew pegs ?? well done for an exellent page and ill be telling my good mates here in suoth africa all about my new find regards robert schmidt --Dwnndog 19:33, 4 November 2008 (UTC)
- Well, I have not really found the folks at wikipedia to be too awful, Copyright laws are usually disregarded here - though your writing should be your own:)--Sycamore (Talk) 19:38, 4 November 2008 (UTC)

More on this ongoing situation as we get it. Probably. Glorious return to form for MrN! Fellow poopsmith and genial man-about-town UU said of the momentous occasion: "you what? MrN? Oh yeah, him. Good bloke. Knows his underwear". Then he scratched his nose reflectively and wandered off. MrN himself was unavailable for comment at the time of going to press/we couldn't be bothered to interview him (delete as you think applicable), but the UnSignpost fondly imagines he would have smiled enigmatically, raised an eyebrow quizzically, nodded appreciatively, and said "PANTS!" predictably. The pants themselves were also unavailable for comment. |

Have a read of these, Beginner's Guide, HTBFANJS and Uncyclopedia:Best of. These should hopfully help out and you should be able to improve your article a great deal. You mind if I add this to the France article?
It's stupid but I like it -- 04:32, 8 November 2008 (UTC)
- I like it myself:) - having had a look over the article again, I don't persoanally think it would not fit too well (three looks right at this length) - I realize that this is a big title (having lots of links to it and revsions, indicatign popularity - also featured) however I feel that this version of France is pretty good - its focused and coherent unlike the the last one. Obviously it is extremely bad of me to try and run a monopoly - if you really like it I guess you can:)--Sycamore (Talk) 09:42, 8 November 2008 (UTC)

Hey, This is wise guy responding to your complaint about my quotes. I really don't see what is so bad about them. They're just stating the opinion of a wise guy (aka jerk) on a topic. Personally i've seen some worse quotes everywhere and was wondering what the problem was.
- Quotes = bad, quotes that referecne yourself = really bad. Write an article, don't add shitty edits/quotes to many articles.--Sycamore (Talk) 21:05, 10 November 2008 (UTC)
- Ok I agree to stop but I want to clear stuff up. I wasn't referencing myself, I was referencing a "wise guy". I admit that I use it as my username but that was just because it was the approach I was taking. What was said is not what I believe or anything. But what really got me was the hate!!! Were they all really that bad? I thougt my crusade quote was rather good. Oh well wouldn't be the first time someone didn't like my sense of humor.--User:Wise Guy/sig 8:32, 11 November 2008 (CT)
No.
Alright, the dead bodies of US soldiers isn't funny, and uneeded. I tried tagging the article with a Offend tag, but it was baleeted. Uncyclopedia is for the lulz, dancing on peoples graves isn't lulz. Very clear. Im going to revert it in a few days unless you have a better point.
Cheers. Dacheatcode 21:00, 10 November 2008 (UTC) Dictating content is not your place, I assume you mean the America article - keep vandalising the article you will be reverted an ultimaly banned for some time.--Sycamore (Talk) 21:05, 10 November 2008 (UTC)
- Please submit comments to my talk page, it saves me time. Anyway, your comment confuses me; are you implying that only Mods can modify pictures/artwork that really doesn't belong there? There wouldn't be much of a community then, now would there? There have been some remarks from other people on the picture.
- As for my apparent "vandalism," i assure you that this was not. Vandalism is adding to the article with pointless crap such as blanking, or the LOLOLTEHMONEKYELOLOL. These were hopefully constructive edits. The first time, I added an offend tag, as it was offending. Then i del33ted the contreversial picture. However, if you still thought that was vandalism, you could use the edit summary. Thanks. Dacheatcode 01:07, 17 November 2008 (UTC)

Uncyclopedian does something vaguely noteworthy in "real life" Mickey has so far failed to live up to Uncyclopedia's proudest traditions, by actually being quite good at the game. Indeed, at the time of writing, he'd won several games, including what he modestly described as "an awesome numbers game, beating Carol". He also shamelessly mentioned his connection to the site in a recent episode, leading to quite literally no extra edits to the Countdown article - still, thanks for the plug, Mick! Having spent time in the company of such notable international icons as Des O'Connor (no, we don't have a page on him, so there's no link), Paul Zenon (nope, nothing on him either) and Suzy Dent (spotting a pattern here, non-UK readers?) Mickey is now Uncyclopedia's most prominent celebrity, and it's surely only a matter of time before he appears on Strictly Come Dancing or Celebrity Big Brother, and has a lurid kiss-and-tell exposé in Heat Magazine. Various "...of the month" award candidates - November's in-depth analysis Uncyclopedian of the Month: Controversial nominees abound here, as serial ban collector Cajek goes head-to-head with Wikia corporate mouthpiece Sannse. The hyperactive one with the light blue sig is in the lead at present. But! As with certain other popular recent votes, there is a third candidate inexplicably attracting little attention - Dexter111344, a site maintenance and VFD stalwart. Who will win? Only you can decide (and all the other people who vote, obviously). Noob of the Month: No-one. Yet. Find a noob doing something vaguely decent and nominate them please! Otherwise the UnSignpost may just have to bring back the ultimate dead horse for yet more flogging and nom Rcmurphy again. Useless Gobshite of the Month: Kip the Dip is out on his own for this one so far. Having proved an exemplary gobshite for months on end, despite being cruelly denied the recognition of this award, the UnSignpost feels that his time is now, and is abandoning all pretence at unbiased journalism: VOTE KIP FOR UGotM! |

Just passing
You might want to check the guidelines for using {{fix}} here. I think that means that if it's a notable subject (and the article is not total crap) it gets a rewrite rather than a fix. I noticed that RAHB recently kept Scouts after the WIP has expired, and you slapped fix on quickly afterwards. Not sure... Anyway it's probably not fair to through this back to the huff master wielding admins as it's escaped so recently... Have fun. MrN 23:11, Nov 15
- Yea, anyway... Sorry to nag. I added some pics and a few more links and it's fine now. Probably does not need any sort of template on it. You might have added {{AAP}}... MrN 23:22, Nov 15
- As you know I will aim to save more than I put up for deletion. I felt this one was pretty mediocre/obscure in potetial and poorly done - now the Fix one does not mean that an op has to delete it, but it does mean that new users think that it will. I prefer not to put articles in rewrite, it's the famous cry at the moment and theres now so many in the category. It makes sense to me to give plenty of time, but be a more keen to see improvemt in new pages?--Sycamore (Talk) 09:18, 16 November 2008 (UTC)
- Yea, I hear ya. Thing is, some admins are more deletion oriented than others. While say Led or Modus would keep it for sure, others might not. RAHB had the opportunity to huff it when the WIP expired and he choose to keep it too... I think of {{fix}} this way: If the article were put on VFD would it be deleted? If I don't think it would, I don't add a fix tag. Scouts probably would survive a VFD (that's only my guess obviously), so what's the point of sending it around the system again? Also as Scouts is a well know subject it's likely to get a fair amount of attention, and so will probably improve. If it were an article about a made up subject which only the author is probably going to edit then maybe it's a different story. Anyway... That's just my view. I'm sure ya know what you are doing. ;-) Oh, feel free to purge things from rewrite which should not be there. I did a pit of a purge of the category a while back, but it probably needs doing again.MrN 01:34, Nov 17

November 20th, 2008 • #100/4 • Sucking Journalism's Fat Wang. Badly.
UnSignpost Stumbles past 6 month milestone In true UnSignpost fashion, the editors noticed this about 2 weeks late - the Signpost having been so gloriously conceived (and never was a word more aptly suited to this juvenile-as-all-get-out publication) by Dr. Skullthumper and Cajek back in early May. The first issue rolled off the presses on May 8th, bringing you such earth-shattering news as "Rcmurphy nommed for Noob of the Month again" and "Uncyclopedia F**king Doomed", as well as establishing Signpost tradition with "Spacefiller of the week" (something about Grand Theft Auto). The editor's office here at USP should probably have had a revolving door installed, having been occupied at various times since Cajek and Skull abandoned it by THEDUDEMAN, Gerrycheevers, Heerenveen and some other numpty - although this is small change compared to the number of delivery bots and boys that have thrust the latest issue, still warm, through your letter flaps. Over the months, many other contributors have helped to keep the UnSignpost in its deserved position of "only weekly-ish newspaper on the wiki" - possibly by being so lame that no-one wanted to bother doing another one. And, having brought you such shattering exclusives as "Wookiepedia Too Cool For Cajek", "Porn Wars End in Sticky Truce" and "RC takes home NotM", the UnSignpost shows no sign of speeding up. Maybe one day, the unstoppable forces of apathy will finally overcome those who still labour under the impression that people actually care about seeing block log entries and biopics arrive on their talk page weekly, and the UnSignpost will grind to a halt. But until then, it will continue to bring you all the old news you've already seen somewhere else, whether you like it or not! UnSportsPost
In response to quite literally some demand, your ever-topical, finger-on-the-pulse UnSignpost brings you all the latest sports news that's unfit to print!

Th-the m-m-most con-confident new-Newspaper in a wh-while
November 27th • Issue 26 • The newspaper it's tough to swat flies with
Uncyc shall go to the Ball! To whet the appetite, let's take a look at some of the cream of last year's competition:
Yup, standards are that high, or low, depending on your point of view, sense of humour, religion, shoe size and taste in hats. So jump to it! If you can make the judges laugh even as they vomit up their own entrails, you could be in with a chance of winning the glorious title "Aristocrat en Regalia", as well as the undying jealousy of the other entrants you so satisfyingly routed. Or you might lose. Asked for quotes, organiser RAHB quipped "I'll probably get on it sometime tonight, if not tomorrow", while official judging type Modusoperandi added "my memoires are riddled with mind expanding shit". {{username}} claims millionth victim "It was there, in front of me, an accusation that I was teh gheyz", the hapless victim told us exclusively. "Such hard-hitting slander had to be addressed, and addressed immediately, so I clicked the edit button, and launched into a passionate and vitriolic defence of my unquestionable heterosexuality post-haste!" Ironically, it was the length of this diatribe that finally revealed the subterfuge. "It took me some time to compose a suitable riposte, listing at length my many dalliances with members of the opposite sex, my subscription to Playboy and my utter distaste for the movie Brokeback Mountain - in fact it took so long that I was logged out from my account" said the sap. "So when I hit the preview button to behold my comeback in all its savage majesty, what should catch my eye but the <insert name here> message that betrays {{username}} abuse? I felt so embarrassed, the only logical course of action I could take was to sell my story to a newspaper with a global readership - you did say you'd pay me for this, right?" Shortly after this point, the interview was discontinued due to a disagreement between interviewer and interviewee. Asked for a final quote, we were told "fuck {{username}}, and fuck you too!" - a comment that speaks volumes about the suffering this terrible template is capable of inflicting on the unwary. {{username}} was unavailable for comment, and remains at large, ready to strike again. |

Thank you... I've always found it to be polite to thank people for the things they have done for you, especially when it is a vote for a fine literary work. People don't say "thank you" that much anymore. Instead, they say "thanks" or "tyvm". That frustrates me, because I don't know what "tyvm" is even supposed to mean. Thanks for voting. |

Sycamore: How does he do it? An UnSignpost Special Investigation But who is this masked Celt? Well, since changing identity from MMACKNIGHT in March 2008, he's racked up an impressive 18,000 edits (or he will have by the time this paper is actually delivered - it's hanging at 17.940-odd at the time of typing). Many of these edits have been thanklessly categorising pages, voting for deletion, reverting and ban patrolling - the kind of soul-crushing work, in other words, that would sap the will to live of the average individual, but not our Syc. His efforts have not gone un-noticed. Indeed, he's been re-nommed for Uncuclopedian of the Month, even though he's already won the award. And despite the understandable reluctance of the non-existent cabal to swell their non-existent ranks, there is a small but significant groundswell of opinion gathering that this should be followed by the bestowing of a Banhammer on the cheery Caledonian. All of this is interesting, of course, and handily fills up column inches in this week's issue, but it doesn't answer the burning question: how does he do it? Once again spending no expense on uncovering the truth, your fearless UnSignpost has the answers, and they lie in his welcome message, and a gratuitous stereotype of his nationality. Yes, Jaffa Cakes and Irn Bru are the fuel of choice of this salutary Scot, and it would appear that the chemical reaction of these two volatile substances in his bloodstream creates an energy level easily the equivalent of at least a small-to-medium Hadron Collider. This is sufficient to cause in him a state not unequivalent to that Scientific Holy Grail, perpetual motion. So there you go kids: that's how he does it!Warning: Your safety-conscious UnSignpost would like to point out that Irn Bru is only known to have this beneficial effect on Scots. Those from less tartan countries would be advised to steer well clear - don't try this at home, kids! From the Cabal's desk |

Edits reverted on IB article
Hey Sycamore, why were my edits reverted on the IB article? You didn't give any reasons and I'm not doing anything wrong. For now I will put my edits on again. --Crazy george 02:43, 6 December 2008 (UTC)
- If I revert I'll proabably have a good reason - In this case case you're adding what we call cruft, or crap: Quotes, lists etc - these are not our aims. As a second comment reverting like that is very bad. Before adding anymore stuff have a read of these: HTBFANJS, Beginner's Guide, UN:LIST. Hope this help:)--Sycamore (Talk) 08:56, 6 December 2008 (UTC)
- Might be a good idea for everyone involved to put edit summaries when they revert. ~ Mordillo where is my FUCK OFF? 11:57, 6 December 2008 (UTC)
- No. You're not the boss of us. Sir Modusoperandi Boinc! 11:58, 6 December 2008 (UTC)
- OK Modus, let's go over this again: when you get up, the first pill you take is on the left box. The left box. The side where you carry a watch. If you don't carry a watch, it's where your heart is. And in case you misplaced your heart again, it's on the side of the shoulder I kept poking you on that last field trip we did. Then, and only then you take the one on the right side, which is the complete opposite of the description I wrote just then. ~ Mordillo where is my FUCK OFF? 12:25, 6 December 2008 (UTC)
- But one pill makes me larger, while the other makes me small! Sir Modusoperandi Boinc! 12:44, 6 December 2008 (UTC)
- Revert summeries for edits of this kind are hardly justifiable. If there is an issuie with reverts that are uncalled for, obviously a much tighter system of scrutiny should be the course. I am gonna have to disagree there - summeriries for this kind of eidt would be a waste of time and takje up my time on paperwork. If there is a revert that is questioned, the best way to leave a note and I'll either explain that this is kosher or I'll revert back if I have made an error.--Sycamore (Talk) 15:01, 6 December 2008 (UTC)
- Plus rollback doesn't tend to leave meaningful edit summaries, and a lot of vandalism reverting uses rollback for ease. Actually, that's how I remember it - all reverts that I consider vandalism have the standard rollback summary, anything else I tend to put an explanatory summary on. But then, I don't seem to get half the number of accusatory fuckwits that Syc does. Anyway, I'm just driving by here, making comments where none were asked for. Carry on. --UU - natter 11:08, Dec 7
- But that's exactly the point. This guy was NOT a vandal. He added quotes in what seems to be done in good faith. Reverting vandalism? Sure, don't bother making edit summaries. Removing unnecessary content that was placed in good faith by a noob? A completely different issue. Take the extra two minutes to undo rather than rolling back and write down why it was reverted. Non of our time is more expensive than acquiring a new writer rather than scaring him off. ~ Mordillo where is my FUCK OFF? 12:24, 7 December 2008 (UTC)
- On the plus side, both versions of the page kind of suck. Lists of more than six things are bad. On the other hand, lists of more than six things are bad. This isn't an absolute, by any means, but it's generally true, absolutely. Sir Modusoperandi Boinc! 12:35, 7 December 2008 (UTC)

Okay, that's messed up
I did a search on that page for "archive", and it said "not found". Excuse my uncompetence. Sir Modusoperandi Boinc! 11:16, 6 December 2008 (UTC)
- Looks like you messed it up - the stuff I did links fine? Whats the deal?--Sycamore (Talk) 11:23, 6 December 2008 (UTC)
- You put it there. I didn't see it. I searched. It didn't find it. I added it. Then you edited it...and I saw that it was there the whole time. It's like a ghost story, but nerdy. Sir Modusoperandi Boinc! 11:31, 6 December 2008 (UTC)
Why have I not given you this yet?
Woo! Yay, go you! Under User has decided that you are "quite a decent sort", which is apparently one of his highest terms of praise! This is therefore a good thing, and in accordance with this, he's throwing a party down the manhole to celebrate. Look at him go! You're not invited though. Don't take it personally. |
Let's rectify that appalling oversight right now. --UU - natter 11:10, Dec 7
Cheers, matey...
..for 'Ban Patrolling' IP 206.207.175.161. I was just en route to do the same, you saved me the effort. :-) RabbiTechno 17:25, 9 December 2008 (UTC)
Consider this your spelling intervention
You know that I love you like a brother, man, but seriously, get Firefox. It's got a built in spellythingy. Since I have FF, I know that "spellythingy" isn't technically a proper word. Bask in the glorious light of my knowingness! That's not a real word, either. Pity. Sir Modusoperandi Boinc! 11:27, 10 December 2008 (UTC)
- Also love here, I've shifted over to my mac which has a built in spellchecker - so there should be slightly less typos. As a side note do you think all the images look better when they are all moved to 200px?:)--Sycamore (Talk) 14:34, 10 December 2008 (UTC)
- Whatever works, man. I think that pics works best when shrunk to 1px. You have to make the reader work for it, I say. Sir Modusoperandi Boinc! 19:44, 10 December 2008 (UTC)
