The articles in this category are funny because they are written in the style of the person (or persons) that they are about. This is particularly effective when the subject of the article is a slightly obscure cultural figure, the recognition of whom gives readers the feeling that they are part of a clique of educated persons, capable of recognising the subject purely by his or her style. In some cases, a further joke is derived from the fact that the subject of the article does not in fact have a distinctive writing style, but it is suggested as part of the joke that the style of the article is the style that the subject would have, were he or she to have such a style.
