I feel like I may quit making articles.[edit source]

Hello. I made the DiscordLeaks article because I thought that other users would find it funny. I am currently in a negative mood after seeing it get to VfD. Yes, I will admit, putting a lot of quotation marks around something does not make it funny. But the other option was the article staying short and not attempting to include every server. It is not an honest take, I like the site because of me wanting to look at the digital presence of online extremes without seeing Goa Tse by clicking random. I know that the article will probably be deleted. I do not know how to improve articles, and with how it is going, I may never be able to properly write and just resort to Pee Review-ing it. IDK if it's actually called Pee Review. I'm just in a bad mood because of your (true) advice. I did read HTBFANJS. Moccasins rule. Tatersforever442 (talk) 05:11, 19 May 2025 (UTC)

@Tatersforever442: It honestly is painful putting articles that have actual effort put into them (such as yours.) I am very much ashamed of myself for discouraging other users from contributing to this site... We all have to start somewhere... in fact, I think my articles are getting worse. Oᑭâᔑᔑᙀᙏ OPOSSUMSIG.gif (vandalize my talk page) 05:16, 19 May 2025 (UTC)
I do not think that your articles are getting worse. If anything, I'd argue that they are all awesome (looking)! I do admit that the (moccasins) amount of (moccasins) times that (Y'KNOW) appears can get pretty grating on the reader/player though. As of now, I think that my focus should be editing out red links and fixing broken links to sites which are older than Donald Trump. Tatersforever442 (talk) 05:32, 19 May 2025 (UTC)
@Tatersforever442: Ahh, link rot, my old enemy. Oᑭâᔑᔑᙀᙏ OPOSSUMSIG.gif (vandalize my talk page) 05:34, 19 May 2025 (UTC)

Look, I don't want to fight[edit source]

I just want to know, really, why you hate my tools so much. Genuinely, I don't get it. My thinking is these tools don't hurt anyone, all you have to do is include a link to your userpage (something the mediawiki software prefers you do anyway, according to how pings work). The archive tool just saves a bit of time and effort when people might be busy with more important stuff. The template remover admittedly broke a fewlot of things (thanks again for fixing those) Nothing is perfect, it's about striking a balance, what is most annoying. The chance of me getting fed up and just deleting your comment so I can finally say something, many times, after wasting 10 minutes rewriting the same message 5-10 times (don't judge me until you get forced to do the same, it's really demoralizing), or spending a minute to add a tiny bit of wikitext to your sig, only once, and as a benefit pinging finally works? I feel like I'm missing something, is somehow my asking for one small thing only one time, too much? And why? — L10nM4st3r ROAR at me! / What my paws scratched 22:04, 19 May 2025 (UTC)

You know who you're sounding like right now? Yep, that's right, Brogo13. You are acting almost exactly like him right now. He's got a vision for Uncyclopedia and demands that everyone else follows it. He wants everyone to act in a way that's convenient to his methods. Sure, it would take literally zero effort at all to not revert his edits, even though they often make pages look worse. And when people don't do as Brogo says, he gets angry and rants on the talk sections of the articles that he ce's. Main difference is that at least your messages are much clearer than his.
And why doesn't pinging work for you? Your tools, I assume? How convenient indeed. I have been trying to teach you this lesson for months... gimmicky tools will always have problems. The CAT 3000 bot will archive pages way too early and me and Dani will keep having to manually revert it. And while you may be able to improve your own tools over time, you will almost certainly start using more and more tools, which will create new problems constantly. It's about time that you learn what life is like without these "conveniences", learn to edit the way everyone else does.
P.S. you do realize that you don't have to manually rewrite your messages after getting edit conflicted, right? You see, I highlight and ctrl+c my messages, so if I get edit conflicted, I don't have to retype them from memory.
Oᑭâᔑᔑᙀᙏ Chess tr.gif (vandalize my talk page) 22:20, 19 May 2025 (UTC)
tbf Ctrl+C doesn't work on mobile, but it's true it can still be copied manually whenever you get an edit conflict. also, for some reason I was expecting you'd compare him to Zana Dark, who also tried to "fix" many things on Uncyclopedia and just made it worse. πŸŽ„πŸŽ„πŸŽ„DaniPine3 (talk)πŸŽ„πŸŽ„πŸŽ„ 22:28, 19 May 2025 (UTC)
The archive bot archives messages too soon beause I told it to do that. I gave you an example of pinging not working on my talkpage. These tools work perfectly fine. They make stuff more convenient, and I disable them when they get in the way. I have saved months of effort by using the tools. My device simply does not have copy-paste. I have said COUNTLESS TIMES I cannot edit from my good device which has copy-paste 24/7. This device reloads the page for no reason every minute. The tools make it so whatever I was typing doesn't get undone. Doesn't help with edit conflicts though. Tools always have problems, the problems are just less annoying for me. Yes, me. Don't fix your sig then. It doesn't harm the wiki in any way whether you do or don't. Just don't complain and say "use copy-paste" when I literally can't. I can't even select text. — L10nM4st3r ROAR at me! / What my paws scratched 22:30, 19 May 2025 (UTC)
@L10nM4st3r: you just deleted my comment when you sent yours. I'm disappointed to say that just proved OPPOSUM's argument of CD being a total piece of crap. πŸŽ„πŸŽ„πŸŽ„DaniPine3 (talk)πŸŽ„πŸŽ„πŸŽ„ 22:32, 19 May 2025 (UTC)

And yes cd is crap, it's not ideal, it's just the best I got. — L10nM4st3r ROAR at me! / What my paws scratched 22:35, 19 May 2025 (UTC)
@L10nM4st3r: Does cd work with my regular signature? Oᑭâᔑᔑᙀᙏ OPOSSUMSIG.gif (vandalize my talk page) 22:36, 19 May 2025 (UTC)
It works with as little as a link to your userpage. Look at my sig for example, the template doesn't even use the first argument (edit: argument is a programmer's second word for parameter. Those words get used interchangeably in programming, I see how it can cause some confusion in a normal conversation... or as normal as this one is), it's just there for cd, and pings. Oh and your ping worked. — L10nM4st3r ROAR at me! / What my paws scratched 22:39, 19 May 2025 (UTC)
If you want to know exactly how pings work, it needs to meet two criteria (set by mediawiki, not by me): it needs a link to the user's page. This link can be embedded within a template, such as {{ping}}. AND you must link to either your user page, your talk page, or your contributions page, from within the wikitext (cannot be from within a template - which is as silly as it sounds, but I do get it from a software optimization point of view). — L10nM4st3r ROAR at me! / What my paws scratched 22:44, 19 May 2025 (UTC)
