Please contribute to Baked Potato[edit source]
Trying to get a new featured article to end the 12 nights of potato. It is Baked Potato. Please contribute in whatever way you like (be bold, add new sections, change text, add images). Would like to get it featured as rapidly as possible. ShabiDOO 23:09, 1 January 2021 (UTC)

Collaboration on Warring States Period?[edit source]
Hi Jabberwock, since you are Chinese, would you like to contribute to Warring States Period (战国时代)? I've done the start and the unification by Qin, but there is a lot of stuff in the middle that I haven't finished. The Battle of Changping (长平之战) would be a great place to expand, but that's just my suggestion. Feel free to edit and remove my content if you have better ideas. ~ HipponiasCUN - Talk - Contribs - Articles 10:25, 20 January 2021 (UTC)
- Sorry, but I don't know much about history. Jabberwock (talk) 10:49, 20 January 2021 (UTC)
My opinion on the Newpedia appearance[edit source]
Hi!
I just wanted to say, I really like some elements of Newpedia, but I really dislike others. This is a summary on what I have to say about it:
- Notably, Newpedia breaks the Timeless skin and the Monobook skin, and seems to be exclusively compatible with the Vector (default) skin. Honestly, having the page only appear fine to some people is a big no-no; I would personally strongly not recommend going with the Newpedia layout on a "full" basis because of this.
- Newpedia also seems to removes the search bar, for some reason. Another big no no, since navigation is essential to, like, everything.
- I will admit that template navigation is slightly more complicated, for me at least, whilst using the Newpedia layout. For example, pointing at Template:Sex, there practically are no hints for the fact that the template uses drop-down boxes, and the "dual cylinder" appearance kind of looks off to me. Personally, I would've favored two rectangular templates, with a slightly less compromising amount of space in between the text entries in the drop-downs; templates aren't really designed to have hundreds of things crammed within. That's at least how I feel about it.
- I do really like the "Featured Article" boxes at the top of the page. It could be easily repurposed for use with other skins, since the standard "FEATURED" box just doesn't look that well on mobile and alternative platforms.
- Informational templates, such as Template:FA, look fine. It's not perfect, and the cylindrical appearance still kind of looks off to me, but I feel like a rectangular version of the same template (with a golden left border) would be absolutely perfect. The "colored templates" element though is really useful, and I would love to see that ported to other templates eventually.
- The rounded corners for images... eh. I'm not 100% sure about it; even though it looks a little more "friendly", it sort of looks off, especially for a website designed to parody an encyclopedia.
So, that's all what I have to say about the Newpedia layout, at least for now. I wouldn't recommend it to be widely deployed, simply because of the first two points I mentioned, but several design cues from it can be used on Vector and other skins.
If you have anything to tell me, feel free to reply! Cassandra (talk) 11:39am January 21, 2021
- For alternative skins, the problem is in the Blank space template. I used that template in my newpedialayout template. It works well with the default Vector skin, but it doesn't get rid of everything in other skins. Go to Nihilism with the Monobook skin and see the effect of Template:Blank space there. For the search bar, I really don't know how to put it onto there. So I put a link to Special:Search in the black bar. Jabberwock (talk) 10:58, 21 January 2021 (UTC)
<input type="search" name="search" placeholder="Search Uncyclopedia" title="Search Uncyclopedia [alt-shift-f]" accesskey="f" id="searchInput" tabindex="1" autocomplete="off" class="webfonts-changed"> <input type="hidden" value="Special:Search" name="title" class="webfonts-changed"> <input type="submit" name="go" value="Go" title="Go to a page with this exact name if it exists" id="searchButton" class="searchButton webfonts-changed">
I am trying...
- It's all good, I'm glad you're trying! Templates love to break stuff; Vector will always be Vector. I honestly think that the best way for Newpedia to exist would be to have it be eventually transformed into a "skin" for Vector, via "custom CSS"; it could define custom CSS classes that toggle features exclusive to Newpedia. Like this, anyone hwo wants Newpedia cankn install it, whilst allowing people who prefer old-school stuff to continue using the old stuff. Cassandra (talk) 11:03am January 21, 2021
- So how should I add something into a page with custom CSS? I actually know little about CSS. I only know how to mess up a page with it.Jabberwock (talk) 11:28, 21 January 2021 (UTC)
- I like the aesthetic of it. I thought it was a neat experiment. It does take some getting used to, but if it's screwing anything up, at least you tried. PF4Eva, the President of Imagination Vote for me My tax returns 13:45, 21 January 2021 (UTC)
- I quite like the style (at least it's better than my CSS), but it doesn't work well with RedWarn: the icons are not designed for the white text on dark background, so hang around awkwardly and block the links. It's probably not your problem, but that's something you'll need to take into consideration. ~ HipponiasCUN - Talk - Contribs - Articles 15:58, 21 January 2021 (UTC)

Templar knights[edit source]
Hey, it seems you've made some pretty drastic changes to the Template:Alphabet and Template:Sex-templates on your own. These templates are quite widely used around the site and they shouldn't go through complete makeovers without the community's consensus through a public forum vote or such. And especially so because - considering the edit histories - you seem to experiment with the code with multiple edits, which then directly affects every single page these templates are put on and could potentially break them.
I'm notifying you now that I'm going to revert your edits back to the original revisions since these kind of edits should really have to be discussed beforehand. You're obviously free to make these kind of experiments as separate templates, however. Just please don't go around messing with these kind of widely used templates, ok? Thanks, 13:04, 21 January, 2021 (UTC)
- Oh Jesus, I just realized that you've been changing not only several other important widely used templates with your newstyle-code, but the complete outlook of Among Us and V. and a few other featured articles as well. I know you mean well and that you're proud of your code, but you absolutely must not do something this drastic without consulting other members beforehand. 13:25, 21 January, 2021 (UTC)
- @Jabberwock: Pssst, on that... I would recommend that you duplicate the page's contents before experimenting with them, forming a sandbox of sorts. For example, you can copy-paste Among Us to something, like, Among Us/Newpedia. That'll give you space to experiment with the Newpedia layout, without breaking anything! (Wikipedia also uses such sandboxes and drafts for most purposes.) Cassandra (talk) 02:42pm January 21, 2021
On the newpedia skin[edit source]
Hi!
I just wanted to say that I added <skin>Vector</skin> to the template for Newstyle CSS, in order to make sure no pages break simply because someone is using Monobook (e.g. Zombiebaron) or Timeless (e.g. me).
Have a good day! User:Kev/s
- Wow! Why didn't I know that before? I was so stupid. No one before told me I could do that.--Jabberwock (talk) 14:10, 22 January 2021 (UTC)
Template:Algebra/poor[edit source]
So, I remember you saying on Cat's talk page that your English isn't very good (I still disagree, btw). Anyway I made a minor correction to Template:Algebra/poor. At least in America, we never say "flunk out an exam". We say "flunk an exam", "flunk a class", or "flunk out of a class". It's possible other English-speaking places say it differently, and of course, feel free to revert my edit for any reason. Cheers. MrX 00:12, 29 January 2021 (UTC)
- Thank you. In fact, that's exactly the reason I flunked my English exam. --Jabberwock (talk) 00:28, 29 January 2021 (UTC)
- Haha my pleasure, and I’m sure you’d do better on an English exam now. MrX 00:42, 29 January 2021 (UTC)
Xi Jinping[edit source]
Hey, so as you may have seen, I went ahead and moved Xi Jinping to my user space. It's now at User:MrX/Xi Jinping. I'm not sure when I'll be able to work on it, almost for sure by the end of the month, but I'll probably try and work on Scientology first and then Joe Biden also inspired me to write an UnNews article today. Anyway, please feel free to add/change anything in Xi's article. Uncyc should definitely have an article about the world's largest country's leader, especially since we can expect him to be around for a while thanks to his elimination of term limits. And we could definitely use the help of any and all Chinese/living-in-China Uncyclopedians, but no pressure, no rush. Cheers. MrX 22:39, 1 February 2021 (UTC)
Apostrophe[edit source]
You might have already seen this on my talk page, but just in case pings aren't working for you either right now, I figured I'd leave it here too. I just finally got a chance to take a closer look at Apostrophe. Great stuff! I added a few things. Hope you like them. Of course, feel free to change and/or remove any of them. Cheers. MrX 21:07, 6 February 2021 (UTC)
- Hey I also added a section on the glottal stop. I think it's a great article but it's really short and could use another section. Feel free to revert the edit if it doesn't fit in with the style of the article (it's your work and there won't be the slightest of hard feelings if you undo) or change it however you like. ShabiDOO 22:55, 6 February 2021 (UTC)

Happy Monkey Competition Topic[edit source]
Hey. Ready to dig deep into your creative juices? Your topic for the Happy Monkey Competition is:
List of Equipment of the average Uncyclopedian editor.
Please write an article on this topic in your userspace/sandbox (if you don't know how to do so just reply here and I'll help you set it up). You have one week starting right now to complete an article. It can be anything (you can write a standard article, something off the wall, a news piece, an unbook...whatever you like). Remember that you are being judged quite strictly and equally in points by three categories: Originality, creativity (with the topic) and humour. Being original is as important as being funny (you can reference other works if you like...just do it in an original way). So go outside of your comfort box, be bold and write something you've never written before. Most importantly have fun. Happy monkey wishes you luck and pisses all over your face. Huggle message[edit source]
Hi _Jabberwock!
Uncyclopedia has been on a growth spurt as of recently, and as such, we are introducing a brand new feature to the table tonight: Huggle! Yes, the same tool you know and love from Wikipedia has made its way into the Uncyclomedia Foundation's impenetratable walls.
Huggle makes it easy to revert vandalism, leave messages to users and basically speedily process edits here on Uncyclopedia. You may also use it to block users and do other things, if you are a sysop!
To use Huggle, you must be both extended-confirmed (having 500 edits and 30 days' existence), and you must also have rollback rights. If you are an admin who does not have either of these rights, feel free to grant them to yourself. Some features, such as page protection and user blocking, are locked behind the walls of adminship.
If you wish to install Huggle, feel free to do so now! For assistance, please contact either JJPMaster or Cassie, who are jointly responsible for this implementation of Huggle.
Have a wonderful day, and may Sophia bless you, Charlie the bot (talk) 01:39, 28 February 2021 (UTC)
The Happy Monkey Competition is ending soon[edit source]
Hi Jabberwock!
The Happy Monkey Competition 2021 ends in less than 22 hours! Please make sure that you article is sufficiently good in quality by the time this time limit elapses, since your article will be judged, regardless of quality, at the aforementioned time.
Remember that you will be judged on:
- Originality
- Humour
- Creativity, with the topic
Good luck! May Sophia be with you, Charlie the bot (talk) 02:07, 28 February 2021 (UTC)
On Template:Mess[edit source]
Hi! Owing to an IP inserting {{Mess}} into Uncyclopedia's article about the coronavirus, disregarding the notice on the page itself, I have had to impose restrictions on using the aforementioned template. Only users with 1,000+ edits are allowed to use the template now. I hope you don't mind; this is a necessity to prevent Uncyclopedia from becoming bat fuck insane. Following an incredible (by 2021 Uncyclopedian standards) 16 VFS votes, Uncyclopedia's most active administrator has initiated their transition to female. Said admin, now known publicly as Cassie, has had a talk page that often inflated by 80,000 bytes or more weekly, and singlehandedly managed a vast variety of things, including (but not limited to): vandal whipping, being the school principal, managing VFH, and more.
"Vandalism, eh? Fuck off already," they said, whilst throwing bags of feces at our new dumpyard.------------
Vote for Sandwiches: Triple Resignation, Quintuple the Drama
By Cassie
Following the resignation of two of our longtimemost bureaucrats, EMC and Zombiebaron, in addition to the resignation of admin CandidToaster, a new wave rejuvenated much of the now-ancient television show Vote for Sandwiches. MrX and Hipponias quickly climbed the ranks; Shabidoo received the same treatment, but ultimately withdrew. Zana Dark and JJPMaster were both nominated for a new category, interface operator, instead of the traditional sandwich role granted.
Uncyclopedia's Technologies are Finally Modernized
By Cassie
it has been a long time in the making, but Uncyclopedia's editing technologies have finally been optimized for the new decade. An introduction of a new extended-confirmed protection level has enabled famous articles, such as AAAAAAAAA!, to see the light of commoners' editing again. Utilities such as Huggle, RedWarn, CurateThisPage, autoarchiving, and a lot more has been implemented thanks to JJPMaster. Many gnomes have been working on this; as such, please treat their work with respect!
Biopic
This edition's biopic is about the joy of templating. Templating is a fine art which can be practiced on Uncyclopedia, its parody Wikipedia, and so many other places. It can furthermore be expanded to "module coding", which produces the same stuff albeit in a much more efficient and dynamic way. Come try templating now!

UnSignpost News Following 1.5+ years of hiatus, Cassie has taken the lead, in a unilateral albeit undramatic manner, and has designated themselves as the lead editor of the UnSignpost.

- I forgot. And I also forgot the secret URL for me to edit my own userpage. But I can use Inspect Element to get rid of the white stuff and to show the wiki editor. Jabberwock (talk) 14:23, 24 May 2021 (UTC)
Poo Lit Surprise is back![edit source]
The 15th Poo Lit Surprise contest is here! This multifaceted competition, with four distinct and open categories, is open between June 1st and June 21st. Five $10 prizes, as well as a bonus $5 prize, are up in the air! Here are the open categories this year:

- Best Rewrite - for the best already-existing articles rewritten from scratch.
- Best Template - A brand new category this year: the best template wins!
To register, please consult Uncyclopedia:Poo Lit Surprise, add your name to the table in the category you wish to join, and link your entry once you are ready. Everyone is welcome, regardless of seniority!
Judges may enlist at User:Cassie/PLS/Scoring. Judges may not participate in the category or categories they enlist in, but are free to participate in other categories!

Blanking Pages[edit source]
I'm sure you're aware by now but instead of blanking pages you create by mistake, please just nominate them for QVFD. Cheers. – ...·º•ø®@» LEG CUN GUN DUN 16:00, 20 August 2021
Your 'newstyle' templates are not mobile friendly. Also, setting a hard height cuts off the text so it is unreadable. I created the spawn template to accommodate your style preference and keep the code up-to-date. Please do not put any of them in the mainspace until they are fixed. – ...·º•ø®@» LEG CUN GUN DUN 18:37, 23 August 2021

Exam of Formalism[edit source]
You realize that this is unfinished, right? And none of the subpages were categorized? It has been over a year, please make these kinds of things in your userspace unless you are ready to complete them. I realize that moving them all into your userspace messes up the linkage but you are not handling the URLs properly either. At the very least, please try not to make work for other people and clean up your creations. Categorize them properly and make sure they have comedic merit before releasing them into the mainspace. If you are not going to complete it then put them all on QVFD. Articles like Nihilism2 are completely unnecessary. You're capable of some pretty cool css stuff so I would expect much better from you. – ...·º•ø®@» LEG CUN GUN DUN 16:14, 26 September 2021
