I think we forgot about it. It's normally a "sometime before now" thing, if memory serves. So I'm looking for two things: judges (no fatties) and a date (also no fatties). Sir Modusoperandi Boinc! 15:00, 22 August 2009 (UTC)

Date

The date has been picked. It's October the Somethingth. I assume that means the first Monday in October: October 5. Also known as "Rosh omon" in Hebrewsh, the Jewish festival of Sitting Quietly and Thinking About Egypt a Long Time Ago, October 5 is the traditional day for Lithuanians to celebrate the coming of Fall by staring at the Sun and making dirty jokes about cured meats. Now all we need are the Judges. Sir Modusoperandi Boinc! 21:46, 28 August 2009 (UTC)

Judges

I'm looking for judges for the next Poo Lit Surprise (three, plus hopefully a spare, in case someone flakes out). And, no, you can't be a judge and an entrant. Sir Modusoperandi Boinc! 15:00, 22 August 2009 (UTC)

What about being an errant judge? Or can we make make judgemental entries? MrN MrN9000SouthParksmall.jpg 17:12, Aug 22

Update:

While I'd prefer judges that have either judged or entered in previous Poo Lits, I'm amenable to those that do Pee Reviews to be judges, as well, asuming no one has a problem with that. Pee Review and Poo Lit Judging have a lot in common. Sir Modusoperandi Boinc! 00:29, September 9, 2009 (UTC)

Whatever happened to starting in January-February like every other PLS (with the exception of the early April one, which I don't understand why it was done except to probably work around the Turkey Day Ball)? The PLS traditionally runs mid-year (July to August) and at the beginning of the year (January-February). I think if we start it in September, or even October, it might be a bit conflicting with other things that might be happening, like the Turkey Day Ball and Forest Fire Week (when is the next one anyways?). Bi-annual works as long as the gaps between the competitions being held are roughly the same and things stay consistent; I think midyear and the beginning of the year work well around the TDB. I can't say much for starting on September 15th since September 15th is a Tuesday and the PLS starts on Mondays (the September beginning also conflicts with several religious holidays). October 1st also happens to be a Tuesday (but it's the first!) and will conflict with my celebration of candy and maybe encourage ridiculously-themed macabre or trick-or-treating pieces to win festive points (zomg he wrote about trick or treating and it's around Halloween!) I was also wondering what the rules might be for this time around. I can't quite recall whether writers could be judges as long as they weren't judging a category that they were going to enter. Anybody know? --EMC [TALK] 22:00, 22 August 2009 (UTC)

On your last point: It got changed last PLS so that judges couldn't enter at all, I believe. –—Hv (talk) 22/08 22:10

3) No. Judges can't enter. Sir Modusoperandi Boinc! 22:12, 22 August 2009 (UTC)
I'm torn between judging and entering then. FML. --EMC [TALK] 22:32, 22 August 2009 (UTC)
I'm torn between two beautiful women. It's a tough life. I'm leaning towards sticking with the brunette, as she's got a wooden leg so she can't run away as fast. Sir Modusoperandi Boinc! 23:44, 22 August 2009 (UTC)
I usually go with the most fertile one. By the way, if termites are in her wooden leg it's considered an orgy, just like how if your dog is on the end of the bed and watches it's technically a threesome. --EMC [TALK] 16:40, 23 August 2009 (UTC)

Possibly a bit preemptive in declaring this, but...

...it seems like there might not be enough judges. I'd be more than willing to judge, except that I ultimately want to enter the competition, which is keeping me from doing so--I'd be willing to bet other users feel likewise. That being said, I don't see why judges can't also be competitors, as long as they don't enter the same category they're judging in. —Unführer Guildy Ritter von Guildensternenstein 06:46, 24 August 2009 (UTC)

You can judge or you can enter. If there aren't enough judges that's because it's all your fault and also you suck. Now stop asking. Sir Modusoperandi Boinc! 07:50, 24 August 2009 (UTC)
Well, my proposal seems like the common sense way of doing it. Judging from the above, you're going to be minus at least two potential judges (Tagstit and I) doing it your non-common-sense way. —Unführer Guildy Ritter von Guildensternenstein 16:04, 24 August 2009 (UTC)

This discussion has been had several times before. It always kicks up an absolute bunch of drama. However, one thing I can't remember being discussed before: can a person judge more than one category? Might help with the number of judges if we're a bit short. I don't mind judging two categories if it'll help. --UU - natter UU Manhole.gif 08:24, Aug 25
If it's necessary, I'm not too bothered by the idea. If it's necessary, however, I'm all for not having Poo Lit at all. If we can't find a mere fifteen magnanimous souls to help the collective for the greater good, then we're no better than Conservapedia. There. I said it. Conservapedia. Sir Modusoperandi Boinc! 09:18, 25 August 2009 (UTC)

Umm... I got a few concerns...

UN:CW was schedule for September 15th... That's not on any more, is it? Namely asking because last time I was told it was only after Poo Lit Surprise judging had been completed, which pushed it two weeks back... By the way, that was fucking pointless... Also, we need to speed up the judging process. I say give the judges a maximum of either a week or 10 days to judge. If you don't have the time to read all of the articles and judge which is the best within 10 days, then guess what? You shouldn't have volunteered to judge! MegaPleb Dexter111344 Complain here 21:44, 24 August 2009 (UTC)

I second this. Move UN:CW to immediately after the PLS if they're going to conflict in September, and force the judges to stop being such procrastinating shitdicks. --EMC [TALK] 23:40, 24 August 2009 (UTC)
