Collaboration or something?

I came up with this thingy a while ago. It's supposed to become somekind of epic, witty, satirical and utterly hilarious continuation of your Scrub typhus article and my Comparative evaluation thingy. I'm kind of uncertain how to make it into something like that though. The "74 serum specimens from healthy Thai soldiers" part is certainly something to work with.

Unfortunately, I was a work at the time. It would be nice if they leave it on there more than 3 three hours. It was deleted in literally 2 hours 55 minutes, with an objecting vote. Okay then so

I've been paying more and more attention to music in the past year and I've established a front on the joys of revelling in resonance. I've listened to all sorts of artists, old and upcoming, and of varying genres - and they each surprise me and give me entertainment that I never realised I could have - from blues, to prog, to dance, to electro, to classical even - in the days when all I listened to was the 1990s alt rock from my brother's CD collection. I am still very much trying to formulate my own approach to music in written form.

What interests me all the more however, I have found, is catching a genuinely new artist. For example, I've listened to two artists for the first time in my life quite recently: Ultravox and La Roux. Both of them dabble in electro based sounds, but the former has been around since the late 1970s. The latter has an album out next month. Ultravox, a highly experienced band, have an entire library of chart-domineering hits, but I am far more interested in listening to the enigmatic and youthful La Roux instead, despite having only heard the one single from them so far - it's just new and never been done before. A career aspect I want to take on myself.

And along the same lines, I encounter that same feeling where the old is overthrown by the new when I listen to some of your own work. I gather that it is mostly five years old now (I presume from the dates given in the link you gave me), but needless to say I still regard it as new music, as we are still at the end of the 00s. You take on an indie and alt rock approach to music and that very much fits in with the rising genres that define this decade.

My own cousin is in the same position as you and I've had much joy from being one the first people to latch onto music not attached to a label - there are only so many questions I want to ask a new musician churning out their own sounds. What are your origins and attraction to music? What specific influences would you hold key to your modern understanding of today's music? Heya Nach! Thanks for listening! The age of those songs kind of varies. Kinetic-2 is only like two weeks old. Baking Clay to Brick and Clearheaded are also semi-new. The oldest one is Veto Pen which was written back in like 1999.

Anyway... to answer your questions... my biggest influences are probably Duran Duran, R.E.M., Death Cab for Cutie, They Might Be Giants, and Tori Amos. I'm not saying those bands are exactly the most relevant out there, or the most "key to understanding modern music," but they're what resonated with me. Can't say why. Sometimes it just seems like taste in music is pre-programmed... when I was 13 and I heard "Losing my Religion" for the first time it just about knocked me clean off my feet.

In terms of what drove me to publish those songs... that would be just another front in my ongoing and futile quest to have sex with a woman again someday. pillow talk 06:14, 31 May 2009 (UTC)

I posted a thank you under your Brooke Shields review, but wanted to say thanks here too. Your review is very helpful because you gave me specifics. Most of what you said was weak I wasn't sure about, so it will go in the dumpster. The only part I really don't see how I can totally cut is any reference to Michael Jackson. He's really big in the news right now, and he really did date Brooke Shields, and really did go to Elizabeth Taylor's wedding with Brooke, and really did have Brooke speak at his funeral (what she said was very touching, but I don't think I can use that here.) But almost everything else you said I'm working on now! Thanks again! And would you mind doing a quick look through the article if I let you know I revised it? I just majorly rewrote the article and then went back and reread your Pee Review. I realized I followed virtually every one of your suggestions. This wasn't because you made them, but because I thought you were right. I cut the Michael Jackson section and most of the MJ references after I finally realized I didn't find them funny. I just have a couple brief Jackson references that I think are useful. The Filmography is gone. I still think it had some chuckles, but it was a big box that got rather dry. It was hard cutting out parts I worked very hard on. But if it doesn't get up the humor, it's circumsized. (By the way, can you find out how many times the article was previously huffed?) I think it looks great - and ready for prime time. I've nommed it over on VFH. The only change I'd suggest now (post-nomination changes are always sort of discouraged, but this one is fine, I'm sure) is to reword the sentence about Agassi's quote - it states that their marriage ended because he said that, rather than that being his explanation of why their marriage ended. Good job, Miley! As for how many times the article was previously huffed - I don't think I can see that. But an admin probably can - you might want to ask MrN9000. You may not have seen the controversy, but the user who's allegedly pictured became very upset over this because it was repeated. A bit far? All parties involved had dropped it. EMC apologized, Opty apologized, Miley said she understood it was all a misunderstanding, Mordillo explained his response and actions, and I finally shut up my big fat mouth and got my nose out of everybody else's business. Everything was going back to editing this wiki to make it funny not stupid. Now we have a person who's trying to get it all started up again.
