Grue

Hya, just to explain the issue with Grue. This is a very old featured article, and generally speaking should not be edited other than minor cosmetic changes. That's the reason it should not be on conservation week and should not be heavily edited. If you think you can produce something on the subject which is completely new and outstandingly funny, you can write it under a different name, such as Grue (Medieval Monster). I would advice you to drop the whole subject though,, as this is an article most people around here are tired hearing about. ~ 18:14, July 7, 2010 (UTC)

I understand, but someone put a rewrite on the page so i got all confused. It's just that you edited it too far back, there were some really funny jokes added by other people that you erased. Nobody has actually touched it in weeks, and i think i was the last one, i may have added a small joke and fixed a typo...I just don't understand why u undid a whole bunch of stuff cause there was no re-write yet...But it's all good, its all fixed. Listen im new to this site...well, i made an account a while ago but never used it untill now...anyways, i am now told your an admin, and i respect that, i don't want to fight but i ask that you please put it back to the way it was before the conservation week started, cause its was like that for a long time and it should never have been changed back, i mean nothing was ever taken off, only facts were added.

You deleted all the facts about Canadians and a few pictures, and whole buch of things that harm or don't harm the grue.

So i ask that you please change it back, cause i did, but then someone else changed that, then...im sorta confused how it works, but anyways, i think it was fine the way it was and it should stay like it was.

Hi, sorry for the late reply, I didn't realize that you posted your own reply. Thing is with the Grue article, is that the rewrite tag should have never been placed there. As I mentioned this is not only a feature article this is one of Uncyclopedia's "holy cows", not to say it's a great article but we've been through so much with it, we'd like to keep it more or less as it is. It is my fault that I haven't watched it closely lately to make sure that it's not being changed that much, but it still doesn't change the fact that I haven't seen any changes that contribute greatly to the article, I'm sorry but Canadian Grues and a list of how they can be defeated don't add much. So as before, I recommend you give up on this specific article and write something else, there's tons of articles here, most of them certainly need to be reworked, just not the featured one. ~ 17:56, July 8, 2010 (UTC)

No, no no i think you have misunderstood. That rewrite was only up for a week before conservation, and if you look at the history, i was the last to touch it. The reason i joined uncyclopedia was because of that article, and now its...well its sort of ruined. It was never re-written, it never should have been reverted, because nothing was wrong with it. I read about the stuff on Canada and grues has been there for months.

Just take a look at the history on the article, the rewrite was put up by DarkLite on june 5th, The stuff you deleted was added before 2010. Just change it back, you can even take off anything i added if that makes you feel better.

I just don't want to take matters into my own hands and get introuble for it. And by the way, there was nothing on Canadian grues...its Canadians and grues, and why Canadians are attacked by them...that actually is hilarious, and again brought me to uncyclopedia.

Actually, I think that the Grue article needs some cleanup. I spot some listcruft and a Chuck Norris reference that really needs to go.

Ah yes, when editing you can edit the page's content in this big box, right? Below that box should be something that reads "Please read the Beginner's Guide, and please be funny and not just stupid. You agree to license submissions under CC-BY-NC-SA 2.0." and below that line of text should be some other box preceded by the text "Summary:". Upsilon Sigma Sigma July Newsletter

Well guys, its been exactly 5 billion years since I last did a newsletter and I thought doing one would be a good way to get everyone back into the fold for August. Big things on the horizon for August for Upsilon Sigma Sigma.

First thing's first: Welcome to our newest brothers, Maniac1075 and Happymonkey39! Hopefully you guys will stick around and become regular contributors to our little project here!

Secondly, unfortunately there wasn't really a July collaboration. That's partly my fault from being absent most of the month because of work. The June collaboration, Taco, that got roughly finished and reviewed around mid-July will be our collaboration for both months. Go ahead and head on over to the collaboration page to vote on whether we send the article to mainspace or not and be sure to nominate an article for the que, also found on the collaboration page.

Third, some asshole (cough MadMax) redirected weird to odd, but bad news for him; we're doing weird as our collaboration for August anyways. This one is going to be epic guys, like Tim Burton epic. I'd like an 'all hands on deck' turnout for this one. We'll begin sometime around August 1 or second. I was thinking the approach for the article should be from the perspective of a high school misfit who's unaware how weird he is describing other kids as being weird. or something... Once the collaboration page is up and running we'll hash it out on the discussion page.

Lastly, and I know I constantly pound this, we all need to start doing requested articles individually. This is supposed to be a big part of USS, but our frat has morphed into mainly a collaboration group. Lets try and focus on those individual requested articles over the next few months.

Looking forward to ramping this thing back into gear with you guys in August!

The navigation bar at the top of the home page, aka Upsilon Sigma Sigma, has pretty much every frat-related link you'll need. Here's a quick rundown: the frat mostly is geared toward our monthly collaboration article that is based on the top 50 requested article list. You can find that under the collaboration tab. Other frat tasks include individual creation of articles from the other more specific requested articles lists. Also, you earn points for doing Pee Reviews. You'll need to keep track of your score on your own. Hop on over to the templates tab and add the userbox to your page and the rank box if you wish. The userbox is a good quick way to get to the frats homepage.

I rarely if ever use quotes on pages I create, although I've left one or two on rewrites. Just don't like them, and have probably removed hundreds of stupid quotes from pages (stupid quotes are among the stupidest things here, imnho). If you can make good Oscar Wilde quotes, more powers to ye, but lots of people dislike them enough to downgrade a page accordingly (except for crazy Maniac1075 quotes, he's just crazy and so we all put up with his computer ramblings from the mental ward at Riker's. There's a maintenance table at User:Cajek/Pee, and next to every review crossed out, there's some variation of yes or no, and this refers to whether the review is in-depth. Now, though, some clarification. You mention on this that you're not sure what the rules are, but you'll do it in a day, two days tops. The rule is: do it within a day of promising to, or don't promise to. Or get banned. It's spelled out in red on the Pee Review page. And you've done several reviews, which suggests to me you do know what you're doing. So, this here is a friendly warning. Next time, it's a ban. Actually, things that inject venom are venomous and things that are latently toxic to whatever ingests them are poisonous. There could be venomous plants that would actively try to poison things like how some plants try to eat things, and there definitely are plenty of animals that are poisonous, especially insects.
