All right[edit source]

I'll not rape you since Socky already did. I'm absolutely interested in cowriting stuff but it seems I seldom get people to do it with me. It must be my emoism, bad breath, being a zombie, a wanker and generally a detestable bastard who would do nothing but... I run out of self-loathing if I don't stop soon. Anyway, I have perhaps seven ideas I'd like to write with someone. Why not alone? Simple: I think humour is far better if it's co-operated. First of all, quicker. Second, funnier. Third, more complex and surprising. Send me a fiver if you're interested. -- Style Oranssiviiva.jpg Guide 10:31, 10 May 2009 (UTC)

Yes, I understand what you mean - there has to be enough common ground for co-operation to work. OK, I have several ideas. First you might want to read Total Trash which I consider one of my best pieces - and the only purely satirical one I have managed. Another good one is the one I co-authored with Mhaille, but it's nonsense. I do that when I don't find any other way. Oh right, almost forgot this one - just to shed light on my darker side. I have a few fresh ideas, nothing done about them yet:
  • Jesus the comedian. There's a lot of scope in this one, definitely needs a few sets of brains I think.
  • Emo rap. I have the main joke all set up, otherwise there's a lot of room. Haven't written anything.
  • Hardware store, a script or an article about a script that emulates cop/hospital/courtroom dramas. Syndrome is in on this at least. Wouldn't hurt to have a few people in a thing like that I'm sure. With a script, the work can be easily divided.
  • A newspiece on how Paul McCartney always was a member of the gentry. Some jokes thought out already.

Besides these, I have a few half-ready pieces. -- Style Oranssiviiva.jpg Guide 17:22, 10 May 2009 (UTC)

User:Multiliteralist/Jesus_the_comedian seems to be the easiest way to tell you when we start. If you happen to start it yourself, please let me know. You got the idea all right. He was the first in a long line of great Jewish comedians, ending with Mr. Cohen so far, etc. The biggest joke was how we have to love each other. Maybe the angle would be how at least half christendom never fell for it? And yes, Hardware Store probably is better as a script than a story of a series - unless we find a reason to have it as a story. There could be one but it should be good enough to add to the joke. -- Style Oranssiviiva.jpg Guide 04:22, 11 May 2009 (UTC)

Well, you start off with this awesome, grave top-secret-ish tone, and make this awesome puns like Project Pot Gold and Rane Bau (or whatever it was) military base, and all that, and then you drift into that lame Revolution stuff, and yeah. I think it would be far funnier if you did something along the lines of "further alleged lep. sightings," or something, because that would fit better with the tone in the beginning while keeping the tone. But that's just me. —Sir Guildensternenstein 01:30, 11 May 2009 (UTC)
Hmm... I think I get what you're going for, though I've never found revolution to be boring. I'm not sure how I could get in something like leprechaun sightings in with it, or do you mean that as part of the aftermath?--15px-SBQ3.JPG 15px-SCBBQGPOS.jpg 15px-Jenny_Spy_Revised_Again.jpgWhore cHeDDaR 20px-Missmurder.jpeg 19px-Leprechaun_army.jpg 15px-TMMAN.jpeg 02:07,11May,2009
I guess, like, loose the bit about the Green Party and revolution and stuff, and instead have like "subsequent lep. sightings," and how no one knows what happened to the lep., and how its fate is a mysttery and like urban legend stuff and stuff, basically. At least that's what I'd do. —Sir Guildensternenstein 03:48, 11 May 2009 (UTC)
I don't know. I kind of liked that part, and I've heard positive comments about the Green Party stuff. Like, I see what you mean, but I don't think I want to put it through that big of a change at this point.--15px-SBQ3.JPG 15px-SCBBQGPOS.jpg 15px-Jenny_Spy_Revised_Again.jpgWhore cHeDDaR 20px-Missmurder.jpeg 19px-Leprechaun_army.jpg 15px-TMMAN.jpeg 19:15,11May,2009

I like it. To be honest I'm still not a fan of the Revolution stuff, but overall I think it's an improvement. Although, I have to say, I liked the original "how the recorder survived is a mystery" picture better. —Sir Guildensternenstein 23:00, 11 May 2009 (UTC)
The MS paint one, or the actual original one? I liked the original one, with the real corpse, but my review said it was too gruesome, and looked similarish to 9/11, which could upset some readers.--15px-SBQ3.JPG 15px-SCBBQGPOS.jpg 15px-Jenny_Spy_Revised_Again.jpgWhore cHeDDaR 20px-Missmurder.jpeg 19px-Leprechaun_army.jpg 15px-TMMAN.jpeg 23:09,11May,2009

Akira Kurosawa is my favorite film director ever. I plan on re-writing his article here soon, actually. But yeah. He's far and away my favorite. I've seen 24 of his films--almost his entire post-War filmography. I <3 Akira Kurosawa. —Sir Guildensternenstein 17:34, 12 May 2009 (UTC)
How do you know the names of so many directors and producers and stuff. I've never heard of any of the guys you write about (except Tom Brady). The only ones I know of are Tim Burton and, um... the guy who did 300, what his name... and... uh... does Rob Zombie count? 15px-SBQ3.JPG 15px-SCBBQGPOS.jpg 15px-Jenny_Spy_Revised_Again.jpgWhore cHeDDaR 20px-Missmurder.jpeg 19px-Leprechaun_army.jpg 15px-TMMAN.jpeg 18:21,12May,2009
I need to get hold of more Kurosawa, I've only seen Rashomon and Yojimbo - what would you recommend next? Also, @ Cheds - movie websites, movie magazines, movie books, film studies and watching lots of movies, at a guess. --UU - natter UU Manhole.gif 20:20, May 12
I watch lots of movies, just not the credits. Watch foreign movies then. Kurosawa did 7 Samurai and a lot of others that I can't remember names of right now. Jackofspades.png (talk) 21:48, 12 May 2009 (UTC)
I do watch foreign movies. Italian movies. Not "fill-in-the-blank"-anese movies. I also watch a lot of American movies. But not Japan or China or other movies.--[15px-SBQ3.JPG 15px-SCBBQGPOS.jpg 15px-Jenny_Spy_Revised_Again.jpgWhore cHeDDaR 20px-Missmurder.jpeg 19px-Leprechaun_army.jpg 15px-TMMAN.jpeg 21:59,12May,2009
To answer UU's question, Seven Samurai and Ran are my two favorites, but run a little on the long side. If you're looking for something that runs a little less than three hours, check out Throne of Blood or The Hidden Fortress. Some lesser known Kurosawa films that rock socks are Ikiru, Desu Uzala, Kagemusha and (this one being a real oldy) Stray Dog. Fucking brilliant, the lot of them. And, if you're interested in other awesome foreign directors, take a look at Ingmar Bergman or Andrei Tarkovsky, who happen to be my second and third favorite directors, respectively. Also, Jean-Luc Godard is over-rated but interesting nonetheless, and Michelangelo Antonioni is a tad bit pretensious but fascinating if you can get past that. —Sir Guildensternenstein 22:39, 12 May 2009 (UTC)
Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amélie Poulain is my favouritist film ever. --SoIwastolazytolearnGermanic.jpg-kun "whisper sweet nothings into thine ear..." 00:05, 13 May 2009 (UTC)
I understood none of that, except Michelangelo Antonioni, but that's cuz he's one of us. Oh, and dog. I understood that too. The rest was sort of UUHHHHHH. Is there a simple way to say all that stuff that you said? 15px-SBQ3.JPG 15px-SCBBQGPOS.jpg 15px-Jenny_Spy_Revised_Again.jpgWhore cHeDDaR 20px-Missmurder.jpeg 19px-Leprechaun_army.jpg 15px-TMMAN.jpeg 00:05,13May,2009

Nach, that's an excellent movie (even if the pacing is a little awkward). Cheddar, all those movies suck balls, except for 300 to an extent. And, to put what I said earlier in a simple form, all those directors I mentioned are awesome. —Sir Guildensternenstein 00:24, 13 May 2009 (UTC)
Those are my fave movies because their fun to watch. Like that French one, that sounds like it would be dull. Does it have explosions, comedy, disasters, blood, gore, violence, graphics, and an excellent and captivating storyline. I don't know, but it doesn't seem like it would. 15px-SBQ3.JPG 15px-SCBBQGPOS.jpg 15px-Jenny_Spy_Revised_Again.jpgWhore cHeDDaR 20px-Missmurder.jpeg 19px-Leprechaun_army.jpg 15px-TMMAN.jpeg 01:02,13May,2009
No, it only has charm, wit, and artistic merit. —Sir Guildensternenstein 01:10, 13 May 2009 (UTC)
Exactly. That's boring. Movies aren't about charm. They're about entertaining. I'm not entertained while struggling to stay awake. 15px-SBQ3.JPG 15px-SCBBQGPOS.jpg 15px-Jenny_Spy_Revised_Again.jpgWhore cHeDDaR 20px-Missmurder.jpeg 19px-Leprechaun_army.jpg 15px-TMMAN.jpeg 02:05,13May,2009
Intellectually stimulating =/= boring. Truth be told I find most of those big-budget Hollywood movies boring because they're vapid, insipid, and all esentually the same movie. I could write one in my sleep, probaby. —Sir Guildensternenstein 04:57, 13 May 2009 (UTC)
Are you studying film at school or doing a film based course? --Docile hippopotamus 05:38, 13 May 2009 (UTC)
No, I'm just an extremely avid film fan. —Sir Guildensternenstein 05:43, 13 May 2009 (UTC)
I felt that the pace was merely conforming with the absolute approach to the film by the director. It was the aura that was conceived the pushed things along for me, plus it's French, a lot of French films have that kind of zany assault. --SoIwastolazytolearnGermanic.jpg-kun "whisper sweet nothings into thine ear..." 09:27, 13 May 2009 (UTC)
That may be so, but that doesn't change the fact that the pacing was still awkward. And being French is no excuse either. I mean, it's still a fantastic movie, but still. —Sir Guildensternenstein 13:20, 13 May 2009 (UTC)
Though while I'm at it, I think that all of Jeunet's movies are paced awkwardly. —Sir Guildensternenstein 13:22, 13 May 2009 (UTC)
Thanks Guildy, I'll give 'em a look when I get time. I'm also an avid film fan, although I find it hard to watch too many good foreign movies because Mrs UU and I have a little deal: if I watch one of my "weird subtitley things that are normally in black and white and difficult to follow", I have to sit though her choice of romcom the following week. There's only so many times a man can watch Love Actually without going dribblingly insane. Amélie is one of the few films we can agree to sit and watch, and pacing be damned - we just get lost in the ambiance. Oh, and technically it does have Comedy and an excellent and captivating storyline" from Cheddar's list, but they're both more whimsical than someone raised on Hollywood blockbusters may be ready for. Not that there's anything hugely wrong with watching a good blockbuster, I hasten to add - I like a balanced film diet, and sometimes just want to see shit blow up! (See a certain Why? I wrote a short while back...) ;-) --UU - natter UU Manhole.gif 13:30, May 13
I actually enjoyed Love Actually, much as it pains me to say it. And I'm also an advocate of a "balanced film diet," except for me that basically means avoiding the mainstream and going to the extreme ends of the film spectrum. I like a lot of classic and art films, but I'm also fascinated by "paracinema" and stuff in the fringe--Japanese sci-fi (yay Godzilla!), exploitation film, and cult stuff. So yeah. What other "weird subtitley movies" do you like? —Sir Guildensternenstein 16:00, 13 May 2009 (UTC)

Ah, good, that's what I thought. —Sir Guildensternenstein 22:32, 13 May 2009 (UTC)
Well, from what I've seen, I like Kieslowski, Godard and Bergman, although due to reasons previously mentioned, I haven't seen anywhere near enough of their work. I'm hoping to sell more Godard to Mrs UU on the grounds that Tarantino likes him, and Quentin can do no wrong in her eyes. What are the most "mainstream" films you like, would you say? --UU - natter UU Manhole.gif 08:18, May 14
Quick drive by - if you're looking for another Kurosawa, go for Ran, amazingly depressing beautiful film. Also, everything made by Takeshi Kitano is excellent as well, more modern. Also, Guildy - if you ever want to do a collab about Ran, I'll be happy to. ~Jewriken.GIF 08:22, 14 May 2009 (UTC)
Now that you mention Tarantino, UU, I saw Reservoir Dogs just a few days ago. The screenplay was superb, not to mention how the torture scene was presented. Tarantino appears appears to be an awful actor though, he got a Razzie for that film he did with Clooney, the title of which escapes me. --SoIwastolazytolearnGermanic.jpg-kun "whisper sweet nothings into thine ear..." 18:07, 14 May 2009 (UTC)
OK, Mordillo, I just might take you up on that Ran thing at some point--we'll see what happens. To answer UU's question, I love Tarantino, Scorsese, and (if you've heard of him) Park Chan-wook (the guy who did Oldboy, which is a fantastic movie). I also really like the work of Christopher Nolan--I saw The Dark Knight in theaters twice, and thought it was great. I typically stay away from the blockbusters (ever since my now-ex-girlfriend brought over Transformers, I've never willingly watched a new big-budget Hollywood movie besides TDK, although the new Star Trek movie just might change my mind based on the reviews it's got. —Sir Guildensternenstein 18:21, 14 May 2009 (UTC)

Thanks. Can you read in German (and even understand the jokes)? Sometimes it seems to me that what I consider funny and what English-speaking users consider funny is totally different. Apparently you are somewhat familiar with the Homestar Runner franchise. I was planning a Homestar page, since the current one is "In need of Liposuction" or whatever the template says. But then the one I began planning is turning out to be more about the website. Should I go ahead and re-write Homestar Runner, or make a new Homestarrunner.com? In your opinion I mean. And if you say go with your gut again, I will shoot you, and make your dying and/or dead (depending on how good of a shot I am) body suck my balls. If your article is about the website, title it "Homestar Runner (website)". And, if you're really fancy, move the existing article on Homestar Runner to "Homestar Runner (character)". Yeah. —Sir Guildensternenstein 02:17, 18 May 2009 (UTC)
That sounds like a lot of work. It might just be better to do a rewrite, since the current article is pretty much shit. So yeah. If you're going to re-write the entire article, and it your re-write is on a different subject (the website instead of the character), why not just write a new article? —Sir Guildensternenstein 02:24, 18 May 2009 (UTC)
Or, if you really want to re-write it, wait until I get my usergroup up-and-running, join it, and re-write it then so you can get credit for it. —Sir Guildensternenstein 02:26, 18 May 2009 (UTC)
Your user group? What're you talkin' 'bout? Icons-flag-it.png Don 15px-AAN.jpg20px-Oberst.jpg Puttano cHeDDs 15px-Jenny_Spy_Revised_Again.jpg 19px-Leprechaun_army.jpg 15px-TMMAN.jpeg 20px-Missmurder.jpeg 15px-SCBBQGPOS.jpg User talk:CheddarBBQ 02:28,18May,2009
Don't you ever go to the forums (the "Village Dump")? Look under the headers "The Rewriters" and "Unseikjugend". —Sir Guildensternenstein 02:32, 18 May 2009 (UTC)
No I never look at the forums. What are they? Icons-flag-it.png Don 15px-AAN.jpg20px-Oberst.jpg Puttano cHeDDs 15px-Jenny_Spy_Revised_Again.jpg 19px-Leprechaun_army.jpg 15px-TMMAN.jpeg 20px-Missmurder.jpeg 15px-SCBBQGPOS.jpg User talk:CheddarBBQ 02:45,18May,2009

Fatdrunkstupid.jpg Oi! My mate, Petie would just like to thank you!

Why, only fuck knows, I’m just the messenger – don’t shoot me! Cos that’s the problem with you people, you’ve all got it out for us, just cos we don’t have jobs you think we’re like, or even are, the scum of the Earth! And we’re not, you know, we’re people too. Just because we don’t have your fancy foreign cars and, fuckin’, sued shoes or whatever. We’re only out of pocket because you’ve taken all the fuckin’ jobs first! If it bothers you so much why don’t you donate your job to Oxfam and we could pick it up for bargain prices? Eh? Bet you don’t like that idea though because then we’d be the ones looking down on you! you fucking, lazy, tax-stealing, jobless scum!

Do I get A Point?[edit source]

I fixed YOUR mistake of putting "Articles that need to be rewritten can be found at" as opposed to "Articles that need to be rewritten can be found at Category:Rewrite." The way you had it, Der Enwehr page was categorized as in need of a rewrite. You're Welcome. 1 point please.

By the way, do points earn you anything? Like, other than titles, which are just words? Do you get, like, a cookie or something, cause I could really use a cookie right about now. Story, just titles, and hopefully some awards too, depending on how that plays out. —Sir Guildensternenstein 22:20, 18 May 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, awards would be good. Also, do I get a point? Icons-flag-it.png Don 15px-AAN.jpg20px-Oberst.jpg Puttano cHeDDs 15px-Jenny_Spy_Revised_Again.jpg 19px-Leprechaun_army.jpg 15px-TMMAN.jpeg 20px-Missmurder.jpeg 15px-SCBBQGPOS.jpg User talk:CheddarBBQ 22:25,18May,2009

Beautiful! Except it should say of Der Unwehr, and there should be a period after "Der Unwehr," but other than that it's marvelous! —Sir Guildensternenstein 23:01, 18 May 2009 (UTC)

A few things[edit source]

First, I like your new idea alot. I can't say it, but I like it. Very solid idea. A few things though...first, you should make abbreviations for each of the ranks like in other little groups. For example, Gnl for general, in case people want to properly display it. Also, I have just done two rewrites. If I join, will those count, or will I have to just start with what I do after I join? Finally, the list might become a bit difficult with people possibly trying to trick the system. Are you going to be monitoring everyone's rewrites to make sure they are legitimate?    Tagstit    talk    contribs    awards   01:34, 19 May 2009 (UTC)

Yes, if you literally just did them, then yes, they will count. And in regards to keeping track of everything, people have to post both A) their rewrite, and B) the version of the article before their rewrite, in the "Unwehr Victories" section. If they don't do that, then they simply do not get credit. —Unführer Guildy Ritter von Guildensternenstein 01:42, 19 May 2009 (UTC)
And I'll come up with abbreviations. —Unführer Guildy Ritter von Guildensternenstein 01:44, 19 May 2009 (UTC)
Alright, and are you going to have people edit their own scores? I think it would be better if every week there is a new section of Victories and a designated person (maybe yourself) puts them in at the end of the week. Sorry, I tend to voice my opinion on new things like this. Don't think its criticism I am just trying to help because I think it could be cool.
I have faith in peoples' competence in keeping their own scores. We don't need to litigate that sort of thing. —Unführer Guildy Ritter von Guildensternenstein 02:35, 19 May 2009 (UTC)

The UnGemrman thingy[edit source]

Not sure if you're watching the talk page of the new group, left you a couple of questions there. ~Jewriken.GIF 06:41, 20 May 2009 (UTC)
