Reinvent the wheel[edit | edit source]
Hi Al, I just read the above article carefully. Concept wise it's the best I ever heard of, the freakin' wheel... in a time when only the reader knows what a wheel is. My only question is how did he (reader) manage to go back in time? It's kinda like In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida was without the very song of title, then you added the song, the band, and your insider explainations. Or Parting the Red Sea needed a "reason." If nobody wants to review Wheel, or if you would like me to do it, I'll be glad to review it, because near perfect articles are the most easy to review. When a story is well considered it leaves very little to fix, if any. Whattya say? Cheers!--Funnybony 21:39, May 24
- Hi. There is no explanation. When you wake up in an alternative reality, there you are. You just wake up there. Changing timestreams without a horse. Sailing the ocean of now and ending up WOW! He just switched timestreams while he was asleep. Maybe I should put some wikipedia links to alternative realities, or a sentence or two describing the physics or theories behind them. And sure, if you'd like to review it, but please find faults in it and kick my ass. You did find some very serious faults with the James Bevel article, and helped with its form now and hopefully in the future. So as long as you kick me upside the head on the page, appreciated, and thank you. Al sans chains 00:10 25 5 MMX

Hey.
Well, I'm quite often around, not always editing and not always logged due to laziness ;). And I'm happy you are happy when you see me ;). And no, seems like you didn't edit the page referenced in my discussion. Anyway, it also seems it's a bit late for featuring this material.
I reduced my activity here due to language barrier. I can speak or write reasonably well but my efforts are still depreciated by some people here and it's not nice. So that's why I avoid writing here too much. There are always problems with proofreading etc. (And I became an admin on Polish Uncy ;p (Finally but I'm no longer interested in any adminish work there :P. They just gave me that function for lulz).
By the way, how many features did you get during last 3 weeks? ;). Sir Ptok-BentonicznyPisz tutaj • KUN 00:30, May 25, 2010 (UTC)
- Congratulations on the admin post on Polish Uncy! Nice work. Now I can ask you too, do you have someone who can translate the Mortal Sin page and post it on Polish Uncy? A nice catholic country likes yours would just love that page, photocopy thousands of copies, and pass them out on the streets. Is there a translator there? Thanks. On your pages here, I'd be happy to proofread one of them for language and commas and stuff, not for content as much as to English-ize it. Then maybe other people would volunteer to do one apiece. You write very well for someone whose first language isn't English, and you've added valued material to the site. As for my features, alas, I've had none featured for a month or so. If you want to nominate one or two, please do so, to get me at least one feature. Not many ready right now though. Thanks again, and enjoy the admin post (hey. you can ban Mordillo from Polish uncy!) Al 00:39 25 5 mmx
- Thanks. Well, I believe I could translate Mortal Sin to Polish after exams (in about 2-3 weeks). If you want proofread m article, you don't have to ask, just do, and I will be happy with it. (and thanks for info about Mordillo ;D). Cheers Sir Ptok-BentonicznyPisz tutaj • KUN 12:14, May 26, 2010 (UTC)

If your question in VFD just now relates to the new voting format, I asked the same thing on the VFD talk page...and got nowhere. Spıke ¬ 01:49 25-May-10

Recording DKW[edit | edit source]
I'll do it some time tonight or during the day tomorrow. Any particularly vocal directions you want to give me? It helps the voice actor quite a bit. MegaPleb • Dexter111344 • Complain here 00:13, May 26, 2010 (UTC)
- Cool. Maybe when you do the photos you can describe them in a normal voice, then read the captions in the voice that you pick for the page. There are the obvious places where it's a more heady feeling, like when the narrator talks about her tongue ring, and her being six foot tall and red-headed! Like WOW, can you believe this woman exists! Then the last section, the academic conference, you can read more seriously, like a news narrator. Make sense? Do you practice once or twice before recording, or do you record a few and then pick the best version? I've never done a reading like this myself, at least not for internet upload. It'll be great fun to hear! Thanks for the heads up too (that's what she says to Dennis) Al 00:19 26 5 mmx
- To answer you about my process, I do all recordings in one single shot and fuck up in all of them so I then start off on tangents and singing. By the time I'm done recording, I have two recordings that are complete and I pick which of the two is the least crap. MegaPleb • Dexter111344 • Complain here 20:29, May 26, 2010 (UTC)

Dude! You're on such a roll! Even you simply "Nom" an article and it gets featured. Awesome! Al, I want to thank you and the other voters. Where can I find the old voting page for Voidism? Al, dude! I just got a helpful and inspiring Pee Review on this article, which I have greatly improved and expanded. The article flowed as a result of recent experiences where I am now. HowTo:Appreciate Womp Rats[edit | edit source]
Bro! This had a PEE over a year ago, and I fixed it up. Then when I discovered your "hero" angle it all made sense, and I changed to a HowTo. Would you like to finish this off? One good thing is I write shorter articles, so less work! Does it need another Pee? Or is it ready for a go at the finish line? Jes wonderin' Hey, let me know when Tantra is ready. But I think, perhaps, it should end in the middle. And then make another article out of the 2nd half called HowTo:Tantra, that gives those instructions. Just a re-thought. Wow! Tonight I got my son to watch 12 Angry Men (old b/w classic). And the acting blew his mind. The whole movie is in one room with 0 special effects. And it's riveting! Remember that? Freakin' awesome! Cheers!--Funnybony 18:56, Jun 13
- Thanks, will look at Womp Rats soon (in fact their distant cousins, the brown rats, are crawling all over me as I type). Tantra works as one article, imnho, and I've been cutting it back several times today and am getting it in good and less cumbersome shape. Has to have the right balance of data and humour, and your comments plus the pee review really helped. Black and white, naw, can't recall the medium. Although I think the old lady who "said" or "pretended" she had trouble seeing was in on it, and they both pulled the wool over Henry Fonda's eyes. And the movie had the elevated train and the fan in the jury room, both special effects which predated and inspired Lucas' and Speilberg's later efforts. Al sometime during that same day.

- How about this cat Roberto Duran? Only a guy my age would know him, and appreciate the absurd truth in the humor. Any potential here? Hey, HowTo:Be Uncyclopedia Beach Local just got featured on HowTo by the powers that be. Neat! I think Womp Rat is much better. The text has to be blue, I guess, so people would know to click on, or at least look at, the links. I love the turtle gif, found it on random changes by "chance" (and we all know how much credit "chance" gets in this universe). There seems to be a problem with my admin powers you discussed on my talk page. For instance, I cannot ban. - Give me a guide here, who is it you'd like to ban? And I also have a question pertaining to the universe and all it contains--I've often thought that time and gravity are identical, which is why a gravity particle cannot be found. Can this theory be eligable for prizes and things immediately, or will it have to have further support amongst the physics communities? Thanks, Aleister 1:12 9 6
- I don't have anyone in mind to ban now; I just went to the recent changes page to see if the link was there. Time is part of the fabric of space and not at all the same a gravity, which is a force. Gravitons are independent of the fabric of space. Think of time as another dimension along which objects in the universe can move. Gravity does not share this behavior. Your theory is an epic failure and I will win the Nobel Prize instead for eventually proving a significant grand unification theory. --Lineintegral123 01:15, June 9, 2010 (UTC)
- Ah, but gravitons are unfound, unproven, and a failed theory. He is envious that I found GUT before him. You see, when time and space divided into two when their real state of oneness slowed down, gravity became the way that time acts upon space. Space acting upon time creates the other forces, all related to electricity, which itself is a space/time read-out of gravity, which is the time/space read out of electricity. You insult me with your idiocy. Change the UCLA article back to second best. Better yet, edit it correctly and change it to best. Now. Or I will steal your rug. --Lineintegral123 01:49, June 9, 2010 (UTC)

Was able to check out your latest revision and I have to say I'm impressed. It's looks very solid my friend. I think it deserves to be nommed for VFH so that's what I did.

Help...[edit | edit source]
How, exactly, does one say that they shall be attempting to review something? On a thingy. I mean. Though why am I asking when I could probably just look at the source code and what other people did and figure it out myself?
Hmm... perhaps because I probably won't. >.< ~ Lyrithya *shifty eyes* (words) (actions) -- 20100615 - 15:46 (UTC)
- OK, you seem to have that straightened out. But if not, then just write on the pee review request that you will review it, and give a rough timeframe, like "I will take this, so keep your mitts off of it. It will be done within 10 minutes or 10 hours, and if not done then, maybe within 24 hours. But if the sun comes and goes without it being done, just assume I am dead, and that the neighbors have come to divide up my poccessions , and if luck would have it, one of them may complete the review." Then sign your name, be on your way, and forget about it until Chief reminds you, and then delete his message. Easy as that! Al a little while later
- Oh... that... okay, thanks. And delete his message? Is that safe?
- And could you tell me if I'm doing any better with reviews? Although you were the nice one before, weren't you... hmm. ~ Lyrithya *shifty eyes* (words) (actions) -- 20100615 - 20:01 (UTC)

Well-Oiled Birds[edit | edit source]
I reviewed your article--hopefully it's helpful. —Unführer Guildy Ritter von Guildensternenstein 16:56, June 16, 2010 (UTC)
My Draft[edit | edit source]
Here's my very-much-revised version of the poem (thus far, anyway)--let me know what you think. We can incorporate stuff from both this and the revised version you're working on into the finished project. Ultimately, though, this is far more your piece than mine, so I'll defer to you on any and all creative differences unless I feel particularly strongly. Anyway, what I have so far:
I’m told that the seabirds don’t mind it at all
That their homes are destroyed,
Their swim slowed to a crawl
As they try and they try to swim through the sludge
That covers their wings
Like a toxic hot fudge.
A crane in my view struts on a shore once so perfect,
Her wings now black glue,
Slim legs stick to long neck
I saw a brown pelican laughing it off,
Pouch sticky with food—
Did I hear him cough?
Oil-soaked Egrets take to the sand—
In throes of surprise
They stick where they land.
Seagulls once flew in the skies high above,
They dove into the sea
And it fit like a glove.
Osprey, sandpipers, ducks, a few storks—
They bob in the oil
Looking somewhat like corks;
They feel the black gold as it rolls off their backs
Down their shocked open mouths
Into tiny air sacs.
For birds never know they’ve been slated to die
So people can profit
Invest, spend and buy.
For while corporate execs just flip us the bird,
Real birds cannot fly
And their cries go unheard.
Though birds suffer and die, the Pigs do okay:
They don't care for the Gulf—
They live far away
In their big corporate houses powered by crude
That currently stains
Birds’ feathers so rude.
White men in black suits look on with a frown:
Not because of destruction—
Their profits are down.
They’ll lie and they’ll spin, no matter the cost
To try and recoup
The dollars they’ve lost.
Stockbrokers fight arm-in-arm buying and selling
Trading presents and futures
(It’s your future they’re selling)
To try and ensure their place in the sun
While we bite the bullet
From their oil spill gun.
The press and the President make like they care
(Barack’s numbers are down,
And the mid-term draws near)
But their words and their rhetoric won’t plug the spill
That sends tons of black death
Into the Gulf still.
Incorporate what you like, leave what you don't, and let me know where you stand on this tomorrow. I'm done working on this for the time being, and will be tearing shit up in Modern Warfare 2 for the rest of the night. Peace. —Unführer Guildy Ritter von Guildensternenstein 03:23, June 17, 2010 (UTC)

Second Revision[edit | edit source]
I like a lot of what you've done in merging our two respective versions. However, one thing I don't really like is all the stuff not relating to either birds or "pigs," if you know what I mean. I think fundamentally the poem should be one contrasting the plight of the birds and the corporate people responsible for that (and all that stuff about action you wish to put in the end)--this contrast is even implicit in the title "Well-Oiled Birds," with 'Well-Oiled' having obvious mechanical and corporate connotations and 'Birds' meaning, well, birds. On that note, I think all that stuff about fish and mermaids and Bennie the Gimp and Meg Ryan's complexion really detract from the fundamental contrast that's the core of the piece. On that note, here's my second revision:
I’m told that the seabirds don’t mind it at all
That their homes are destroyed,
Their swim slowed to a crawl
As they try and they try to swim through the sludge
That covers their wings
Like a toxic hot-fudge.
A crane in my view struts on a shore once so perfect,
Her wings now black glue,
Slim legs stick to long neck.
I saw a brown pelican laughing it off,
Pouch sticky with food—
Did I hear him cough?
Oil-soaked Egrets take to the sand—
In throes of surprise
They stick where they land.
Seagulls once flew in the skies high above, I like the present tense, brings the viewer intol the scene if its dive, fly, fits, etc.
They dove into the sea
And it fit like a glove!
Osprey, sandpipers, ducks, a few storks—
They bob in the oil
Looking somewhat like corks;
They feel the black gold as it rolls off their backs
Down their shocked open mouths
Into tiny air sacs.
For birds never know they’ve been slated to die
So people can profit
Invest, spend and buy.
For while corporate execs just flip us the bird, the image here is of the execs both giving the finger as well as flipping an actual bird corpse, which explains the language in the next two lines
Real birds cannot fly
And their cries go unheard.
Though birds suffer and die, the Pigs do okay: I'm uncomfortabler with pigs, for several reasons, inc. dated language and that pigs are very intelligent and loving animals
They don't care for the Gulf—
They live far away
In their big corporate houses powered by crude
That fatally stains
Birds’ feathers—how rude!
White men in black suits look on with a frown:
Not because of destruction—
Their profits are down!
They’ll lie and they’ll spin, no matter the cost
To try and recapture
All the dollars they’ve lost. Dollars are particular to some countries and not other. "Income" pertains to both money and their lost incoming oil.
Stockbrokers fight arm-in-arm, buying and yelling
Trading presents and futures
(It’s your future they’re selling)
To try and ensure their place in the sun
While we bite the bullet
From their oil spill gun.
The Congress and President make like they care
(Barack’s numbers are down, paranthesis used in last stanza, two in a row maybe a bit too much
And the mid-term draws near),
But partisan rhetoric won’t plug the spill
That sends Texas-tea death
Into the Gulf still.
I've both tweaked some of my lines to match your revisions where I thought the meter worked better, and tweaked some of your lines to better match mine along similar lines. —Unführer Guildy Ritter von Guildensternenstein 15:54, June 17, 2010 (UTC)
- Eh, I suppose. Once again, it's more your piece than mine, so do as you will. —Unführer Guildy Ritter von Guildensternenstein 18:27, June 17, 2010 (UTC)
- Feel free to change "pigs" and the like. I would prefer, however, if you retain my changes that improve the meter, particularly the lines "The Congress and President make like they care" and "That sends Texas-tea death." Your version of the former line is, like, fifteen or sixteen syllables long, which totally spoils the meter IMO, and the word "black" in your version of the latter sounds just a bit awkward because it breaks up the two consecutively stress syllables of "tea" and "death." Most everything else I'm not all that attached to, however, so keep what you want. —Unführer Guildy Ritter von Guildensternenstein 18:37, June 17, 2010 (UTC)
- Good meter fix, I got carried away there. Your earlier changes which "fixed" the first and last stanza of the earlier draft were exceptionaly good. Maybe black death can go somewhere else, I'll be careful with stress and counts. Will get to this a little later, I'm actually watching the hearings with Hayward, BP's chairman, who has been failing and protecting his behind all day (the best of no good options for him). Thanks, and later, Al a few minutes later
- Just got your message--those are all perfectly fair and acceptable compromises as far as I'm concerned. The sea creatures fit much more than Meg Ryan, certainly, and I'm unaware of this whole "Bennie the Gimp" situation, but if it's topical and funny that by all means keep it. I'm pretty flexible when it comes to most of this stuff--I would just prefer more than anything that the meter work, hence my above note. And I was watching those same hearings earlier today for a while. —Unführer Guildy Ritter von Guildensternenstein 18:49, June 17, 2010 (UTC)
- The hearings are back on again. I was surprised only one sane person, I mean protester, spoke up at the start of the hearing. Then later. Poor Meg, I bet she wishes she had feathers so she can be included. Bennie isn't topical, a made up mafia name (with the link), just that it's an iconic image for the mob to cement-shoe victims into the deep waters, and here (lol now) Bennie gets the oil in his mouth on the way down. The last two stanzas, I'll put them on your talk page and see if we can work them out when I finish, I hope they work well. And thanks for the vote on wheel, for some reason I really love that page and it's trials on VFH has made me continue to edit it towards a better article, and it's almost there. Appreciated. More later, and this collab is great fun! (except for when it's not. I did the main work on the May frat collab, so will keep myself out of the Taco page for the most part. I hope you can join in on that one, or next months which should be really fun) Al 20:00 17 6 MMX

A suggestion[edit | edit source]
Perhaps, per my suggestions on my talk page that I left in response, something along the lines of this:
Students, housewives, old broken-down hippies
(Who haven't been laid
Since the mid-nineteen-sixties)
Ask for world healing, bring all of creation
To a nonviolent stand:
The United Nations.
"End Earth's destruction!" our request to the leaders,
"Restore lands and waters!"
With the help of the feeders.
So here, a rhymed call for humanity's quorum,
Now gather your friends
At the world's modern Forum!

I feel so alone, gonna end up a big old pile of them bones[edit | edit source]
Just read chicken again, I think we've done a really good job. I was just wondering, more out of curiosity than anything, how do we determine who gets credit for it? Obviously me, you and Paizuri do, but what about Skinfan? And I also noticed edits from HELPME and Cheddar. --Black Flamingo 18:11, June 21, 2010 (UTC)
- Well, I didn't add to that little masterpiece. But I can suggest, like I was in a band, there were 5 players and manager, we just divided everything by 6. Maybe I wrote the song, but we still divided by 6, cause it couldn't happen with out every player. Hehe! Do the math. Cheers!--Funnybony 18:21, Jun 21
- It's a shame there isn't money involved. We all get half a point if it gets featured, I was just trying to figure out which users would get those half points. But still... you were in a band! That's cool. I used to be in a band. --Black Flamingo 18:30, June 21, 2010 (UTC)
- Just got back on the net after a couple of days off. When we nom Chicken, and maybe another edit sweep should shape it up really good, I think everyone should get credit. Six sounds good, unless someone opts out. Personally I only want points or 1/2 points on pages I feel that I made quality contributions too, I won't list any where I just did a bit. I haven't looked at the edits on this page, but the 6 you mention make sense in terms of building the structure and the writing of the page. It was a fun collab. I did so much of it that I feel like keeping out of everyone's way with Taco. Did you want to nom Chicken in a day or a few? Lots of noms going up, some good ones, others that ain't, but I think Chicken is one of the good ones. Points all around! Al 00:51 22 6 MMX
- I'd rather wait until we've had a pee. But yeah, those six are fine by me, even if they were minor edits. --Black Flamingo 15:59, June 22, 2010 (UTC)
- I agree about the pee, but nobody has taken it as yet. We should wait then, and see if someone grabs it, because we could use other viewpoints. Are you going to do edits on Taco? Maybe I'll see the direction it's taking and join in just a bit if HappyTimes and Paizuri don't mind. Would you like to do a collab on Marilyn Monroe? The data on the page is good now, but it could use additional sections to expand the overall history and story of an amazing life. Al 17:23 22 6 MMX
- We could ask Hernia to get it. And yeah I'd love to collab on Monroe, I wanted to write that article myself at one point. As for Taco, I'm waiting until I have an idea... ...Nothing yet.--Black Flamingo 18:00, June 22, 2010 (UTC)
- Nah, she hates me. I tried to rape her after I gave her laughing gas and a roofie, and for some reason she hasn't talked to me since. But if you tell her I had nothing to do with the article, maybe I can get around the restraining order. Great, on Monroe, that would be fun. I like most of what's there now, even the list of movies which work with the added comments. Let's talk on that. Cool. Yeah, same here, I don't have any idea for Taco so am waiting to see the page's direction and join in. How does Chicken look on your page? Skinfan changed the large lettering format to fit his screen and it's now scrunched up on mine, so checking on how different screens see it. Aleister 18:06 22 6 MMX
- Chicken looks good on mine, but I have a really weird resolution which is totally unlike anyone else's (which is why Matfen usually arranges my images for me). I love what you've got so far with Monroe. We need more info on her films and personal problems though. I will do a bit of reading up on her and see what I can add. Have you seen any of her films by the way? I love Some Like it Hot and The Misfits. --Black Flamingo 18:12, June 22, 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks. I worked with what was there when someone put it on VFD, and carved into it and added quite a bit then and later. I've seen many of her films, and her seduction of the male creature runs through all of them. I think it was Robert Anton Wilson (who loved her by the way, and he and other agnostic mystics see her as the Goddess of the century) who said her secret was always seeming and talking like she was just about to have an orgasm, as if every man watching her could tip her over the edge at any moment they chose. She does dominate the screen and all the sexual energy in the "room" in all her roles and probably in every scene she filmed, quite a trick. And she, Norma Jean, was able to "put on" Marilyn at will--Marilyn was her character, one she played throughout her career, and Norma could beome "not her" as easioy as becoming her. I like that whoever wrote the page put in lots of factual information about her death and the questions surrounding it, we just have to funny it up more but also leave the data intact. Lots of ideas now that you've got me thinking about the page. Marilyn, we hardly knew ya. Al timeless, or about 23:00 that same day

UnNews:"Runaway General" McChrystal found and returned home[edit | edit source]
As much as I normally think that song parodies are the most brainless form of humor, I would appreciate it if a parody of the refrain of Dr. Hook's Cover of the Rolling Stone, perhaps in a {{Cquote}}, suddenly appeared in this UnNews. Spıke ¬ 21:07 22-Jun-10

I wanna be loved by you (just you)[edit | edit source]
I have added a few bits to Marilyn. Not much, but have a lot more to add when I get time. Might need to go and watch a few of her films if I can to get more ideas (All About Eve and Gentlemen Prefer Blondes for example, I don't really know anything about them). I also wanna make these changes if you agree:
- The opening quotes are funny but would work better in the main body of the text, I reckon. If we could think of a good set up for them.
- A lot of the Moe Howard references are too random, particularly the one at the end where it's claimed the CIA killed her for exposing him. I'm not saying remove them entirely, but maybe we could keep these parts to a minimum.
- I think it would be funnier if the narrator actually wanted to shove the pills up her ass, saying something like "if you want me to try to shove them up Monroe's dead ass then I'm game!"
Let me know what you think. --Black Flamingo 16:55, June 23, 2010 (UTC)
- Sounds good, I'll take a look at the page. All About Eve isn't her film, she only appears in one short scene where she gets some attention for actually speaking and moving while at a party. Which is what she does best (except in private). I think there were only two Moe Howard references, and they seemed funny but probably are random. I put them in as a counter-balance to the generally accepted view that the Kennedy family had her killed by the mafia or the CIA, and it's funny that Moe Howard actually did it to cover-up his affair with her. Maybe if we had a chop of her and Moe it would be funnier, to set the visual contrast in. Come to think of it that would be a classic chop (something I am totally unable to do, talent or equipment-wise). I'll take a read and see you on the "flip side". Loved by you 19:27 23 6 MMX
- p.s. Ah, I see where you're going, to do each film. I'll take Bus Stop for sure, and play with some others. The opening quotes are very good, imnho, and I found them there and left them , which is rare for me (I don't like opening quotes). They play off each other almost perfectly, and sum up an aspect of her life, and having the second said by DiMaggio creates a sadness/pathos right off the bat. Can we keep them, pretty please with a c-note on top. This could be a really good page, and I'll do my best to honor and throw a pie in the face of Norma Jeanne. Al 19:49 23 6 MMX
- Ok kids, you can keep them, but they're your responsibility. I think what I'll do is just add everything I can think of, and then leave it to you go make the final edits and maybe get it pee'd, etc. I'm gonna be leaving the site for a short while soon so that's probably the best way. --Black Flamingo 15:47, June 24, 2010 (UTC)

RE: Toast[edit | edit source]
Thanks. It's kind of a communal sockpuppet I created to curb VFH prejudice. So basically, you can write whatever you want under the account, and not take credit for it or disclose that you wrote it until you want to. We also tried to make the sockpuppet an asshole so people would just leave it alone, but it seems to have garnered more attention than we wanted it to. The password to the account is "oranges" (don't log in for another 24 hours until the ban expires) and the list of people currently using it as a sock are on the page. You can add yourself on there if you like. Just don't abuse it. --EMC [TALK] 02:55 Jun 24 2010

Well-Oiled Thank Yous[edit | edit source]
So it looks like our collaboration's going to make it to the front page despite the naysayers (I wish the same could be said about this). So, how do you want to handle the thank-you templates? We could do one together, or just do separate ones, or just one of us could do one, or we could do nothing because no one cares about thank you templates anyway. What do you think? —Unführer Guildy Ritter von Guildensternenstein 13:42, June 27, 2010 (UTC)
- It looks like it may make it. I'd like to contact some of the activist groups just before or on the day it's featured, so they can look at it. Are you good at templates? I've never made one, and have copied some code but never worked one up. If you'd like to go ahead and make one up, please do so, and we can also thank people as we wander their pages. Oily. Al 21:07 27 6 MMX
- Well, I'm notoriously lazy when it comes to templates, as I've used a variant of the same exact one my entire Uncyclopedia career. I could send out thank-yous of some sort on behalf us both, though, I guess. —Unführer Guildy Ritter von Guildensternenstein 21:46, June 27, 2010 (UTC)
- Maybe we can both thank people, that would actually be fun. Once voting is done you take the odd numbers and I'll take even, or some combination, and we can just write thanks as well as talk to the others list if we feel like it. And we should thank the nay voters too, for pushing the process into beneficial (?) changes. And I'll thank Candice Night personally, glad to do it. Al few minutes later

I'm really falling in love with that page. There's no doubt it'll be another feature for both of us (or at least, half-feature. Or maybe 0.25 for me and the rest for you). It's hilarious, and so well written. --Black Flamingo 18:12, June 29, 2010 (UTC)
- How can you help but fall in love with her. If she's featured, and who can help but feature Marilyn, we'd both do a half (you've done great work, but who can help but do great work with MM) and then find out the earlier creator and they'd get a half, even though it was a VFD rescue. I'll look at your edits later, and maybe put some more time in (but who wouldn't put some more time in, it's. . .) Later, Al 21:34 29 6

Advertising[edit | edit source]
No matter how reluctant Wikia are to say "never" and no matter how hard they may try they cannot bypass the Non Commercial Licence which contributions to Uncyclopedia are released under. It is interesting to note one "Jimmy Wales" who appears on the Board of Directors for Creative Commons - "The co-founder of the Wikimedia Foundation, a non-profit corporation which operates Wikipedia and several other wiki projects. Wales is also founder of the for-profit company Wikia, Inc. (legally unrelated to Wikimedia)." who is the spitting image of Jimbo Wales. I think its fair to comment that should Creative Commons move to be far more "flexible" with the interpretation of how licences work, especially where it could benefit a member of the Creative Commons Board of Directors, would open up a shitstorm that would instantly destroy their credibility, which means that we are VERY unlikely to ever see advertising on Uncyclopedia. Hope that clears the matter up for you.... -- Sir Mhaille (talk to me)

Anyways we should schedule a showdown for 5 people with 5 judges. They will give a score to each, best total score wins. All the other rules still apply.

- "Giant Undead Flamingo From Hell". Now that would be a great topic for an article. Or a movie, sounds like one of those 1950s radiation insects on the attack movies. A few weeks ago I was at a zoo and saw one of the zookeepers or workers or whatever "steal" a flamingo egg from atop it's mother's mud nest. They had chased the mother off the nest with food and commotion, and this girl zookeeper was hiding behind something and then sneaked out and took the egg. The mother was all aflutter about it. True story too. Aleister 2:07 27 7
- uhu...nice story? And take the article name...Moving on. I think we shoulcd have it before Lyrithya leaves, as a "thank god she's leavening" competition. And let's make that 2 or 3 judges, 5 is too many. --Happymonkey39 Dah Meme Master 02:44, July 27, 2010 (UTC)

- Hi. I don't know, how about early next week, but it should be at 10 or 10:30 your time. The big contest a month or so ago that Ape organized started at midnight your time, which didn't really work for me but I played anyway. Tell you what, you pick a day, like Monday or Tuesday next week, and then we can organize it up real good before then. Give it some time to look forward to it. Who knows, more people may want to join, or may not. This would be the one where we give each other an exact title a minute before kick-off, then write for an hour-and-fifteen minutes. Let me knows what you thinks (and hopefully Lyrithya will be around for it, that would be fun) Aleister 22:57 27 7
- Well she stalks me...wait? She stalks me...I CAN GET LAID! Yes! i just hope she ain't ugly. I say Monday. I hope i will be available at that day. I know for a fact that i wont on Tuesday, don't ask why. And yes, all the same rules apply like i said, why don't you send some invites to the people i listed for the competition. We'll worry about the judges later. --Happymonkey39 Dah Meme Master 23:45, July 27, 2010 (UTC)
- Ugly? Eh... well, once all the plastic surgery is done, I should be a right dame. Like that one in Brazil, you know, the guy's mother... whatever was her name? Anyways, you shant be seeing me until after the surgeon is done. And don't you worry, either; he's not one of those that uses acid treatment. He assures me my complication will certainly not develop a complication.
- Oh! Deary me, is it that time already? I'll be right back; I need to change the bandages...
- Well, that got a little messy, but anyhoo, all's well now. I may even get some hair back soon. So what's all this about a contest, anyhow? And don't you worry; I decided I left a few days ago but probably won't actually leave until I randomly wander off at some point. The {{vacation}} thing is just to cover for whenever I do, I guess... ~ Apheori *shifty eyes* (talk) (stalk) -- 20100728 - 00:01 (UTC)
- OK, how about we firm it up for Monday for sure, 10 p.m. your time (Eastern North America) and 2:00 on UIC time. And when Monday comes around try not to meet any new women to talk to that night. Lyrithya, do you want to play too? People will give each other a specific title of a new article, then you have an hour and 15 minutes to write it. When it's over, I don't know, if we have lots of people judging isn't really cool as much as what occurred last time, if a page would survive on VFD it's a good page. And I saw Lyrithya after the plastic surgery, now one eye is larger and her mouth is reallll straight and long, just like the image she always leaves. But it looks good, yeah, it's Okay. I like big eye(s), at least one of them is big, and straight mouths. Does anyone else want to play next Monday, if that's what we decided? Aleister 00:19 28 7
- Well i just so happenly placed links to the people on the list for you. Im sorry Al, but people don't check your page often, no one will see that. I think you should click those links i spent 10 minutes making!
- Huh...image before she leaves...that's a neat idea. I mean what if before people "officially" ditched uncylopedia, they showed a pic of themselves...that would be neat...yet again, you get there IP...and then stalk...but she already does that so... --Happymonkey39 Dah Meme Master 02:31, July 28, 2010 (UTC)
- Agh! Al! Don't peek! Wait until after the plastic wrap comes off, dammit! Although if all else fails I suppose I could get a picture by googling 'cute asian chick' and using whatever comes up...
- And sure, I'll take part... if I remember. I guess it'll be a matter of if I show up. If not, go on without me, obviously. ~ Apheori *shifty eyes* (talk) (stalk) -- 20100728 - 04:21 (UTC)

Upsilon Sigma Sigma July Newsletter[edit | edit source]
Well guys, its been exactly 5 billion years since I last did a newsletter and I thought doing one would be a good way to get everyone back into the fold for August. Big things on the horizon for August for Upsilon Sigma Sigma.
First thing's first: Welcome to our newest brothers, Maniac1075 and Happymonkey39! Hopefully you guys will stick around and become regular contributors to our little project here!
Secondly, unfortunately there wasn't really a July collaboration. That's partly my fault from being absent most of the month because of work. The June collaboration, Taco, that got roughly finished and reviewed around mid-July will be our collaboration for both months. Go ahead and head on over to the collaboration page to vote on whether we send the article to mainspace or not and be sure to nominate an article for the que, also found on the collaboration page.
Third, some asshole (cough MadMax) redirected weird to odd, but bad news for him; we're doing weird as our collaboration for August anyways. This one is going to be epic guys, like Tim Burton epic. I'd like an 'all hands on deck' turnout for this one. We'll begin sometime around August 1 or second. I was thinking the approach for the article should be from the perspective of a high school misfit who's unaware how weird he is describing other kids as being weird. or something... Once the collaboration page is up and running we'll hash it out on the discussion page.
Lastly, and I know I constantly pound this, we all need to start doing requested articles individually. This is supposed to be a big part of USS, but our frat has morphed into mainly a collaboration group. Lets try and focus on those individual requested articles over the next few months.
Looking forward to ramping this thing back into gear with you guys in August!
