Okay, it's time to face facts, people. No one likes Uncyclopedia. It's the worst. The "un" stands for "unfunny". One of the goals of Uncyclopedia from the beginning was to provide a satirical point of view for everything. Yeah right! We don't even have an article on satyrs! How are we supposed to provide their point of view if they're not even here? I think it's time for us to admit that we failed and just get on with our lives. Thank you for your suggestion regarding satyr! When you feel an article needs fixin', please feel obligated to make whatever changes you feel are needed, (even though they'll probably be reverted 5 seconds later). Uncyclopedia is a wiki, so almost anyone can edit almost any article by almost simply following the edit link almost at the top. You don't even need to log in in most cases! (Although there are some reasons why you might like to...) The Uncyclopedia Cabal encourages you to be italic. Don't worry too much about making honest mistakes—they're likely to be found and corrected quickly, and your 6 month ban will fly by faster than you think. If you're not sure how editing works, check out proper wiki formatting, or use the sandbox to try out your vandalizing skills. Ideas to fix problems with participation

• Is it possible that the moratorium on redlinks is outdated given the current slow humor economy? Perhaps we should allow some redlinks on every page to encourage others to continue writing? It seems to me that people are running out of ideas, and there's nothing that begs editing quite like a redlink.

• We should allow all pages stay that aren't shock or spam for a while, even if they're microstubs. If we just label them as such, they can be easily removed later.

• We need a list of good topics for articles that people can pick from, and not have their work immediately taken to VFD, QVFD, or your mom.

We are not running out of ideas, they are just coming slower as most have been done before in some way or another. In about a few years time we may face that problem of simple lack of ideas though (when most of us wont be here). --Sir DJ ~ Irreverent 12:33, 7 April 2008 (UTC)

Real wikis do have short articles and stubs. I don't see why, if we're a parody of those other wikis, we shouldn't have short articles and stubs allowed too, even if they are only one joke. — Dr. Skullthumper, in school atm

Red Links and quality

I'm sympathtic to the idea that quality could be something that would remedy this issue; many of the pages are a little run down. i have tided quite a few, but theres a need for more good editors to try and keep standards higher. I am fairly ignorant of how to really improve participation in a wider sense, the topics that have yet to be done and their are amny stub type articles (do you have a template that I can use to highlight pages could be expanded?).--Sycamore (Talk) 12:53, 7 April 2008 (UTC)

I don't think that increased quality control is the answer here. I also don't think that decreased quality control is the answer here. I think that if we keep doing what we're doing, article ideas will crop up. I actually have a few jotted down or even started on my userpage. Feel free to expand on those, if you're short on inspiration. Otheriwse, there are over a million Wikipedia pages, now, I think, and any of those could probably be parodied. The problem isn't lack of things to write about, it's lack of inspiration for authors. Judging from how the list is bunched into categories, I think it's more of a group than a ranked list. We're in the group of the 101 most useful websites on the web. (Yet another sign that Uncyclopedia has failed--isn't the goal to be as useless as possible?) Also, why do people keep saying that nothing on this site is true? That arc is so last year. As for theology, I've moved on.
