buzzcocks[edit source]

Do you know what never mind the buzzcocks is.

Which aspect of the page was so bad it had to be deleted. Please do act smart and say everything.

oh yea - sorry for posting this stuff on your wikia page too

mynameisnotgeorge

Seriously, nobody cares. It was listed in QVFD page, so I deleted. It didn't appear to be too good, so I huffed. It is just an article. If you want stuff not to get huffed, either spend more time on making it look professional or register an account, create a user subpage and put the article into the subpage. Or both. --Sai.png Jack Phoenix, professional killer admin (Whine?) (Wikia ads) 18:35, 13 January 2008 (UTC)

Heisenberg Deletion[edit source]

Hello and Merry Christmas. I stumbled across this page and proceeded to hack away at it without noticing (i) the blatantly obvious slepping mistake and (ii) that a page with the "correct" spelling already exists - can you delete the one with the incorrect spelling please?

Will & Grace jokes list[edit source]

Hi there,

You huffed the article "List of jokes in Will & Grace", stating that this is not Wikipedia. I know this - the article was a concept article, the supposed "joke" being that there were no jokes.

Would it be possible to get this article re-instated? The preceding unsigned comment was added by JGDross (talk • contribs)

It was listed on the QVFD page twice. I didn't find it too funny either and I do agree with the people that submitted it into the QVFD. So no, I won't restore it (well, I can c+p the deleted version to a user subpage of yours if you'd like that), but I can suggest making it a part of the main article. --Sai.png Jack Phoenix, professional killer admin (Whine?) (Wikia ads) 13:14, 31 January 2008 (UTC)
Fair enough - I thought you just deleted it because it contained the word "list" and thought it was an attempt at an article with some sort of factual content. Thanks for letting me know, anywho. --JGDross 13:50, 31 January 2008 (UTC)

24 Tenth Season?[edit source]

Hi Jack. Great job on making the video-wiki button and link disappear! Maybe you can help me out deleting more content from other pages (this one, maybe?).
At last we have found the plot for 24 tenth season: Jack Bauer is on the run to restore the video-wiki button and link to Uncyclopedia. Will he succeed? fail? If you don't want it to happen (I mean, 7 seasons are more than enough, don't you think?) you know what to do... UnThx, IdoSet 13:38, 27 February 2008 (UTC)

I have no problem with said user at all. I just don't appreciate comments like this. A simple "why did you delete my article?" would have done and I'd have explained it nicely. Flaming me and recreating the same, unfunny ministub over and over again ain't helping. This is Montenegrina, I am so sorry, but I am new to Uncyclopedia. I am still not sure how it works. Did not mean to be rude to you. We all make mistakes,mostly not deliberatelly. Once again I apologise I thought I had not saved it properly and I simply repeated it. And I liked it, it was nice for me, but if you didnt its fine for me that you deleted it. Thats why this wonderfull Uncyclopedia exists. We dont have to like the same and then when we dont like we may do that its gone. But I didnt mean to make you angry. Why should I. Have a nice day or night whichever it is wherever you are And you know what else I am sick and tired of people who constantly PUNISH and DISCIPLINE you and DEMAND nice behaviour otherwise they will prosecute. I guess you also, they just pretend to be polite, but they can be sometimes very cruel. It is easy to punish, to help and forgive much easier and makes YOU feel good. Try it. PS If you ever visit Montenegro, just send me an emai. Lets go for a nice beer somewhere.

Silly question[edit source]

Did you ever figure out what was wrong with the thing to check if stuff was already on ban patrol with the script? Because I just tried it, and the thing does work, apparently. Un...

Oh! Nevermind; I was testing it on you - it doesn't work on you, because your name has a space. Replacing the space, it still checks if the list includes a non-space-version... I mean, I don't know this for a fact, but that'd make sense, wouldn't it? Would you be able to fix that on the check itself, same thing as you did to the writing on it bit? 1234 ~ 16px-Pointy.png 11:50, 29 March 2011

Maybe this helps. On the other hand, maybe not. If it fails, I'd suggest copying the gadget code to a user subpage of yours, disabling the gadget in Special:Preferences and loading this new user subpage in your uncyclopedia.js with importScriptPage(); that way you could modify the gadget locally and test your changes (spamming the code with alert()s and console.log()s is always fun and maybe you'll learn something new about JS — I know I've learned plenty of stuff by debugging some annoying scripts). --Sai.png Jack Phoenix, professional killer admin (Whine?) face book share/like button[edit source]

Hey Jack Phoenix...remember me...you know me...we never talk to each other. So yeah...that means you owe me a favour right?! Fair...isnt it?

It would be really nice if we could get the facebook share button working. Aparantly the old one was broken (maybe because of all the code this site is based on...I don't know). According to Zombie Baron you are a coding genius...so maybe you could help?

If the site can't have a generic share button on the skin, would you know how to put share buttons on specific pages? I tried the following two methods, to no success.

http://help.wikia.com/wiki/Help%3ASharing

http://developers.facebook.com

I copied the code on the developers.facebook onto the wiki, but it doesn't read that code, maybe because the wiki code is not the same as website code? As for the help.wikia I have no idea how to access those tools. I've also dropped a line with Bizzebeever and Olipro...but I have a feeling you'll beat them too it...you sexy hunk you (shabidoo flutters his eyelashes). xoxoxox --ShabiDOO 18:15, June 18, 2012 (UTC)

Facebook and nice in the same sentence? Does not compute!
Even if we ignore my personal thoughts on Facebook and how they treat people's data, your proposal still has some problems. You refer to an old version of the Facebook share button, but to my knowledge, there hasn't been such a thing. At least I haven't seen any.
I (and plenty of other users, I'm sure) use Monobook, not the Vector-looklike "Uncyclopedia" skin, so some things might be different if you're not using Monobook.
And I have no idea why you thought that the Wikia way of doing things works.
All that aside, I probably can whip up some delicious JavaScript for you if you give me specs that are detailed enough. Basically I'd need to know where such a button would appear on the skin at least...I'll let you know if I manage to come up with further requirements.
And yes, wikitext is not HTML; wikitext accepts a limited number of HTML tags, but Facebook's non-standard tags are certainly not among those. --Sai.png Jack Phoenix, professional killer admin (Whine?) (Wikia ads) 21:47, June 18, 2012 (UTC)
Hey Jack...thanks for the reply. The only thing I'd like to implement (at least for now) is to put a button on individual pages...so that when one clicks on it, it puts the link on the persons face book wall, and not the more complicated option. Would you be able to pull something like that out of your but?

this code was given on a site: I frame (whatever the hell that is): <iframe src="Some Facebook URL" scrolling="no" frameborder="0" allowTransparency="true" style="border:none; overflow:hidden; width:450px; height:px">

Java: <fb:like href="Your URL" layout="standard" show-faces="true" width="450" action="like" colorscheme="light" />

And once we have a little button like that...we can take on the far more challenging job of putting it on the whole site. Or am I really stupid and not get how this works?

big kisses and hugs and eskimo kisses!--ShabiDOO 09:08, June 20, 2012 (UTC)

Firstly, because I'm a programmer, allow me to rant at you about the big differences between JavaScript (JS) and Java; they're as similar as apples and oranges; both are fruits (programming languages) but that's about it.
Now, I threw up a quick, dirty and untested JS hack in a few minutes; it's not pretty, but it should work...I hope. Try it and let me know how badly it fails:
/**
 * Annoying Facebook like button, at Shabidoo's request.
 * The like button iframe element is inserted inside the element which has the
 * class "annoying-fb-like-button". For example:
 * <span class="annoying-fb-like-button"></span>
 *
 * Users can opt out from like buttons by setting "disableFBLikeButton = true;"
 * in their skin.js page.
 * Naturally I've also exempted myself from this.
 *
 * The commented-out calls to mw.config.get() are the ResourceLoader-compatible
 * calls to get certain JS globals. Read more about RL on
 * http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/ResourceLoader.
 *
 * At the time when I wrote this (3 July 2012), Uncyclopedia was running a
 * legacy version (1.16.5) of MediaWiki which did not support ResourceLoader,
 * hence why I commented those out. ResourceLoader was introduced in MW 1.17.

The Internet is serious business, and Uncyclopedia even more so.
But it does worry me that a mortal decides to copypaste random code from some external wiki (in this case, Wikipedia) and that an admin who isn't totally sure what the code does adds it to the site-wide CSS page. This time no actual harm was done and nothing blew up, but what if we had been dealing with JavaScript that alters document.location, for example? Let's just say that it doesn't take a genius to write a one-liner JS snippet to redirect all users to an external (possibly malicious) site.
Thirdly, if I was blaming someone...let's just say that a joke block would not be involved. It was supposed to be a reminder; "this didn't quite go the way it was supposed to, but maybe it will the next time". Apologies if it didn't seem like that; when you fix up a crapload of crappy code, you'll eventually get sick and tired of having to do it again and again and again and...see what I mean here?
Coding style, like other minor and insignificant things, such as recycling and whatnot, is meant to help, not just you or me, but everyone. Small things can make a big difference — and I for one would prefer the difference to be a good one, not a bad one. --Sai.png Jack Phoenix, professional killer admin (Whine?) Ok, point taken, but (1) I'm not just some 'mortal', I'm a specific mortal named Bizzeebeever who's been around the site for a little over a year, and who's written several other code snippets which are in use by other users, mainly the patrol script which we use for maintenance (Socky, MrN9000, Lyrithya, RAHB, Frosty, SPIKE and others can vouch for my skills). (2) I never grab "random" crap from other wikis; this was copied and pasted directly from Wikipedia to work with our new {{Navbox}}, which also came from there. (3) I fully explained to Socky where the code came from and what it did before he put it in the site-CSS, and I doubt he would just toss stuff in there if somebody else asked.
While I am familiar with MediaWiki's best-practices, and I've used tab-indentation ever since I started with HTML, Javascript and CSS over fourteen years ago, I chose not to change the code at all, so that if Socky wanted to, he could do a search-and-compare with Wikipedia's CSS.
To sum up: it wasn't just some blind lark, I know what I'm doing (mostly), and Socky was familiar with me and well-informed, and trusted my changes. :) ~ BB ~ (T) Icons-flag-us.pngWed, Jul 18 '12 16:36 (UTC)

September admin nominations[edit source]

Go nominate and vote for new admins here. -- The Zombiebaron 03:05, September 11, 2012 (UTC)

Greetings.[edit source]

I hereby request that my articles that are listed on the QVFD for today be huffed ASAP as my genuine apology towards my actions made several years ago. Kevz64 (talk) 04:36, September 16, 2012 (UTC)

Mr Pheonix is not as regularly here as he has been in the past. QVFD is cleared at least daily, however. An easier, and more effective, way to apologise is simply saying sorry, btw. Nominally Humane! 04:50 16 Sep
