pokemon pages[edit | edit source]

If you want to help me edit the pokemon pages, you may. All I want is the rights to the Max page and recognition that Ash's mom and Oak are doing it.--Yagikaru 12:14, 10 April 2007 (UTC)

Ummm[edit | edit source]

I've been mass editing the pokemon area for a while now, I guess. I want to help these pages in any way possible. I think I hinted at the affair between Oak and Ash's Mom on the Nurse Joy page. I'll highlight this affair on Ash's Mom's page.

What do you mean that you want rights to Max (Pokemon) Do you want credit for creating it? I'll put on my user page that I started it, and you editted it so much that it might as well be yours. Thanks for contacting me. Let's both make these miserable pages into the best linked articles on Uncyclopedia --Serq fet 13:22, 10 April 2007 (UTC)

Sounds Great[edit | edit source]

Okay, that sounds fine. I won't touch any of the pages that are on your page. No i didn't write the max page, i just want to redo it myself. I really do like max and the pokemon anime, but there are some cheesey things that are fun to poke at --Yagikaru 16:55, 10 April 2007 (UTC)

Hell, go for it[edit | edit source]

Whatever you want to do, go for it. This area is screwed up, add some pages, fix others up, let's make these the best linked things on the site

Sig[edit | edit source]

I fixed your sig. It was missing a </span>, which meant it broke whatever came after it, sometimes. I'm no sig expert, but remember that when you have a <wordofsomekind> you have to have a </wordofsomekind> to close it, or your belly button will cave in. Trust me, I used to work at the belly button ward at the hospital and we'd see two or three caved in belly buttons a night because of this. --Sir Modusoperandi Boinc! 18:22, 29 April 2007 (UTC)

Pee Review[edit | edit source]

Great to have other reviewers out there, but I have to correct a small mistake you made. When you're rating the article, don't use fractions. Fortunately, in this case, the article was hardly funny enough to score a point, but if it were a good article the person probably would have been offended if they recieved a 4 1/2 or something. The template for reviewing automatically sums up the total points. (the fifty isn't required) Just for a sample article review, see this randomly chosen one. Don't feel bad though, we appreciate the help; over at pee review it can get pretty backed up. LeatherboundbooksTalkContributions 22:40, 4 May 2007 (UTC)

Pee Review[edit | edit source]

Sorry if I'm coming across as a little curt, but it would be better if your review on Pee Review weren't done out of 10 like you've been doing so far. That tends to make the final score go into decimals and confuses the little children into thinking their articles are exponentially worse than they actually are. --Littleboyonly.jpg TKFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFCK Oldmanonly.jpg 02:28, 5 May 2007 (UTC)

Testing the waters[edit | edit source]

I am considering nominating my article, American (species), on VFH (again). However, after my last disastrous foray onto VFH, I am being more cautious and testing support before actually nominating. So, would you support such a nomination?
Humble Acolyte of Humor, Radioactive afikomen 00:37, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

I'm sorry, but I am a little disapointed that Americans lost the delete war. The problem might be that there are too many americans that can't take a joke about them. Although it was very offensive in some areas, it is a shame that some of the truely good material was huffed also. As an American, I, for some bizarre reason, like seeing how other countries steriotype us, and laugh at the fact that the overwhelming majority are absolutely true. Yes, I lost a false flame war making points such as the fact that Germans is disgustingly offensive, and that Americans can make all the jokes they want about themselves, but when someone else does it, they ass-rape him into oblivion, and huff his joke, the one they made less than a week before.
In short: No thanks. I'm too pissed off at a fairly large portion of oversensitive Americans. But thanks for asking.
Are you still reading this?
I bet not.
Damn, I like to ramble on talk pages.
Well, better put my name down.
Fresh Stain Serq Fet of Pokemon (At your service)

If you've had a bad week, why should I suffer? Radioactive afikomen 18:07, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

Focusing on this page, and ignoring all contoversy, as it should be, I just don't like American (Species) enough to nominate it, and if someone else does, I will abstain. Don't read this as scathing hatemail, or a new flame war. Both of my comments were meant in the gentlest way, although you are correct in that I should have vented a lot less in the first one. So, please, understand that I don't think this will make it to the front page because of the controversy. One of my UnNews pages failed after nomination simply because the voters didn't like Pokemon, or didn't want an outbreak of it. So, I wish you luck in your quest, and feel that you should continue trying, but perhaps with someone that voted for deleting Americans. I think it is in archive 68 or 69.
So again, good luck. Fresh Stain Serq Fet of Pokemon (At your service)

Lol. Sorry, I don't have a Wi-Fi connection anywhere nearby. My name is on that list because someone put it in my talk page to get my consent to use it as a template (Wow! People care about my opinion!) Thanks for the offer though (And my pokemon would get owned lol) Fresh Stain Serq Fet of Pokemon (At your service)
Well, on Wi-Fi, you can have all of your Pokemon temporarily converted to either level 50 or 100. The only thing that determines who gets owned there is base stats and effort values.
Plus, if you have a wireless internet connection, you just need to know things like the password (if one protects it). If it doesn't, you can tell your DS to automatically connect to it then. Then, you're on.
Could you do me a favor and fix the Diamond and Pearl templates so that they show the accented E? I tried that myself and it messed up the categories. Could you help me rectify that? Conniving 17:24, 25 July 2007 (UTC)
Sorry, I don't have wirless internet, and if I did, I wouldn't know how to access it, although I would love to own someone besides my brother...
Looks like someone fixed the template already. Fresh Stain Serq Fet of Pokemon (At your service)

No need to thank me, I'm glad to review. But, since you mentioned going a month without getting reviewed, I was wondering whether you could review this article I've been working on. It's already in Pee Review, here. I'd really appreciate it, since it's probably going to putrefy and turn to fertile soil in the backlog if somebody doesn't review it soon. Lol. --R. SAT article[edit | edit source]

What do you think could be done to improve the SAT article? Since you said it "could be better", I want to know what you think should be addressed. ShadowMan 19:40, 30 September 2007 (UTC)

Lol for some unknown reason this is my archive, but oh well. What could be better? Erm, for one thing, the time limits. 'The Day After Tomorrow,' and such, seemed wrong. The SAT's really don't give that much time, if you think about it. On some sections you get 20 seconds per question. The quote at the top seemed off topic. Punishment by death for peeking at the other sections? Some other punishment would be a little bit better, such as being forced to retake the test in the language Xitsonga, or whatever. And I'm pretty sure there were 3 math sections, lol... It's not that bad, but it just needs some cleaning up, and reviewing so that it can be feature worthy. Fresh Stain Serq Fet of Pokemon (At your service) 05:18, 1 October 2007 (UTC
I'll try to some up with something better than The Day After Tomorrow. The punishment by death is really just an exaggeration of the actual test's invalidation (I had a copy of one handy when I wrote the article, and some text comes verbatim from the test). And there's actually three sections of everything but I just didn't feel like doing it all. ShadowMan 22:12, 4 October 2007 (UTC)

Further VFH Explanation[edit | edit source]

Hi Serq, to avoid adding extra comments and clogging up VFH, I thought I'd explain my comments on your Pokémon/symbology article here, hope you don't mind. First: congratulations on writing what is certainly the best Pokémon article on here. Most of the things are full of the same old clichés and raise my delete hackles on sight, so as I say, the fact that this doesn't is a minor miracle.

However, since you asked for feedback, here goes:

The list of events in episodes feels too... listy. OK, that sounds dumb, try again UU. Er, it just looks like a list with too much episode information, and it looks like it will be a chore to look through to find any jokes. I skipped it on my first and second reads (hey, I take voting seriously, OK?) - you don't need to specify the episode, and certainly not the exact timing unless it is relevant to the joke, just mention that these events have occurred. Maybe give a little more detail about each event - why is Pikachu hit by lightning, what sin did he commit?

The dissection of the theme song, while not bad, doesn't flow at all. I think it's the way you've broken up the song with the translations after each line. Perhaps put the lyrics together at the top of the section, then discuss the references in a couple of paragraphs below? And concentrate on the more obvious parallels - you don't have to try and get symbolism out of each line where none can be found - "Gotta catch 'em all, Pokémon!" doesn't translate to worship Jesus, and if you want to continue to claim it does, it may help to try and explain why.

I like the idea of setting up obvious parallels, then subverting them, which you do kind of well with Ash - although the line "That stupid, fat-ass 10-year old brat" lets down the pay-off somewhat.

And the prose style needs tightening up. It doesn't flow well throughout. It needs just a bit of tweaking for readability - either look again at OEJ's really good and very handy tips from his Review and go through it again yourself with a fine-tooth comb, or put it up for Proofread with a note on the talk page to try and improve readability without losing any of the jokes. I'd offer to do it myself, but I'm a tad busy, and I've already spent longer on this than I intended!

Hope that explains my vote. I would not hold the fact that it is Pokémon against it - a good article is a good article, and an excellent article gets my highlight vote, no matter what the subject! --Sir Under User (Hi, How Are You?) VFH KUN 11:34, 18 October 2007 (UTC)
