Gale5050 Sanctions

Hey Cassie, I was asleep the entire time the discussion happened on your talk page and you added more to Gale5050's sanctions. I will respect your final decision, but the sanctions have been quite prescriptive and specific IMO. Obviously Gale5050 needs strict boundaries, but new sanctions are usually added after he misbehaves in a way that the specific sanctions don't cover. I know this is a difficult situation, but there may be a way to regulate Gale5050's behaviour without his sanctions page swelling to 12k bytes. Also, a "two post countdown" (per this) can be implemented, which will hopefully reduce the number of unconstructive arguments involving Gale5050. ~ Hipponias^CUN - Talk - Contribs - Articles  07:16, 29 March 2021 (UTC)

I'll agree that such a thing may help, but it may also end up backfiring by prolonging discussion excessively. I think that maybe a softer restriction of the same type (e.g. User may only reply twice to their own thread) would work better. On Uncyclopedia:Deletion Policy, please change Featured articles that need work are always marked with rewrite instead of fix even if they are about less notable topics. to Featured articles should not be maintenance tagged at all. That I will agree with, but that means we use human judgement. In this case, it's short, not funny (didn't laugh once), there's a bolded redlink, it's random and awfully listy. Those things would, if not call for VFD, call for at least a maintance tag. It's ironic how you nominated articles like Mt. Honestly, I'm not sure how that would work. And I don't want to have to maintain so many pages that I'll end up getting lost! I feel that the better way would be to move towards a unified admin noticeboard or something like that, and tell Gale to continue pinging me instead; that should clear up things. I think the re-feature list is there for times when we don't have a new featured article, so there isn't a "need" to do them ever, and it doesn't matter if there's a backlog, it's just there to fill up space. MrX blow me 16:46, 30 March 2021 (UTC)

The fact that there hasn't been an RFA since 2018 is bad though, so it should probably happen after Mona Lisa is featured, on 4/1. This allows Mona Lisa to be featured, and then we can sloooooooooooooooooooooooooooooowly go on the list of RFAs. Sometimes an article is so good, it deserves a second chance in the spotlight. Since 2018, no article has had that chance. The next article, UnNews:NONSENSE WATERMELON CATASTROPHE, has forced Zombiebaron to wait 2 years for it to be shown. I'll agree that on 3/31 Mona Lisa should be featured, but on either 4/1 or 4/2, it should be that article. Imagine having an article you put so much time in sit there for years, and then you'd see. Agreed. As I said at VFD, let me try one more time to help Pugsley not be a total pain in our ass. Except for one message, her sanctions were never really explained to her, and there was no warning before the 28-day block. Yes, it's on her for not asking. But I'd say it's worth trying one more time. About a day or two before the block expires, I'll leave a message on Pugsley's talk page clearly pointing out what she can and can't do, and why her behavior has been disruptive. Here are my thoughts. Tux Paint, Khitan, and Ersu should not be huffed for any reason as all are modest articles, and should be exempt. If after the year ban she is still causing harm, we can permaban her then. I was thinking +3, and if it was getting stale and below that, it would default to a "no consensus", which means keep. Ok, here's what I'll say. A month ago, we tried that, and it exploded into a massive fight. The VFD in question can be found at Uncyclopedia:Votes for deletion/Archive284(believe the 1st or 2nd one) and it was 3-1. I requested on March 3 it be deleted. It was, at 23:30. At 23:34, MrX left that comment. On March 4, it exploded into a big fight. I know it's stale, but MagicBus was thrown into UN:OFFICE 3 years after committing the crimes that they did. We try to let the admins do it; it doesn't work. Then we go talk it out in a forum, reach a decision, and follow through with that. It's per WP:BRD(which also applies here as well, see User:Gale5050/Uncyclopedia:Don't Deny Wikipedia policies just because they are Wikipedia policies, which is under construction).In this case, it wasn't quite a revert, but this is a case where a forum will prevent anything like this from ever happening again. Gale5050, that didn't explode into a massive fight over the VFD issue, that exploded when you failed to understand the correct nomenclature of the issue. It was a semantics issue that got overblown, and yes I'm sorry for my role in it. As for the VFD issue, I wish we could have a more well-defined rule about a minimum score for VFD, but since we don't have much participation there, I don't think it's a feasible goal at this time. I would have liked to see the "Asian Girls" article and the "Guy with a sign" pic (or whatever their actual titles were) not get deleted, but the system worked there. Maybe in the hopefully near future, if there is more regular participation at VFD, we can revisit a minimum score rule. But for now, it's not realistic, and the current system is working very well. I know it will; pushing the edge isn't a good think, however it's not nearly as bad as if I violated them. Speaking of them, I actually proposed User:Gale5050/Proposed April 5 sanctions, in which I wasn't too soft on myself, and actually hit the high notes, while giving me a bit more freedom. For example, a Wikipedia equivalent ban on the subject of "interstates" may be broadly constructed, to prevent the narrows, from, y'know. But editing, say, US 20 is technically allowed, but frowned upon. However, what's also weird is that my sanctions forbid me from leaving a set of pages, rather then barring entry from, if you know what I mean. Ehhh. Correct me if I'm wrong but these sanctions don't seem to mention an over all against vote total for VFH, VFP or VFD.

Gale has inserted the right to greet users (a new right not mentioned in earlier sanctions) which I highly recommend against Cassie (there are enough people doing that and it leaves too many possible unintended consequences).

The typo section looks like way too much of a burden on you Cassie (you will have to check every typo Gale fixes).

Gale has inserted the right to quote WP policies which he shouldn't be allowed to do at all. Multiple users have expressed frustration with this, it is extremely disruptive, completely against uncyclopedia tradition and super obnoxious. We are not wikipedia. His attempt to wikipediafy this place should not be enabled in any way.

Finally, I don't see what is wrong with Gale's current sanctions. Gale has been sufficiently disruptive over the last few weeks that I don't see why Gale should have his sanctions relaxed at all. ShabiDOO 13:10, 4 April 2021 (UTC)

Per the above; I don't think the 4/5 sanctions (which I'll probably put in place through 4/30) will be much different from the sanctions put in place back in March. I'll probably juggle things around here, tightening some screws whilst loosening others (such as inserting a provision forbidding the use of double-dashes in signature, or maybe allowing UN:BP for obvious socks (such as Svex socks)).  Cassandra  (talk) 01:13pm  April 4, 2021

Because some of it is commented out and some of it is links, the actual prose size is 7.7kB, and 1252 words, with 81 sentences. It's not that long. A way it could be simplified is by "categorizing" per se, which would probably reduce it to 2k bytes.
