Hey, it looks like on the mobile website it forces all tables to have a margin of 10px. This is a huge deal. Borders on basically all of the userboxen and legacy tempplates are messed up. Template:Userbox is the one I am concerned about at the moment but this is going to require a lot of coding unless you can fix the mobile stylesheet. In the meantime, all tables across the website have to be hand-coded with margin attributes. Any ideas?

Also the 'big' and 'small' HTML tags are not working for mobile. It is imperative that these tags work the way they are pre-set to function. Please let me know, thanks!

@Zana Dark: That seems fairly weird. Is it all tables, wikitables, *mboxes or infoboxes only? Some of those have forcibly set margins (e.g. as in margin: 0.5em 0 0.5em 1em;), but I do not see anything broken in the site's CSS concerning tables in general. As for the 'big' and 'small' tags, it seems that those are probably because of broken browser implementations: for example, on Safari iOS 13, the big tags display fine but small tags fail to do so. Maybe replacing small and big tags with their respective templates (e.g. {{small}}) should be done?  Cassandra  (talk) 05:26pm  April 25, 2021

Forcibly set margins are a terrible idea, I urge you to change it back to margin:0. {{big}} requires the user to set the font size to a percentage, it should be set to larger if nothing is specified. There is also a problem with both of the big and small templates when certain text is put into them they fail. The average editor is going to continue to use the big and small HTML tags. You cannot expect them to know what those templates are or what they do. Workaround-oriented programming is a big pet peeve of mine, but my main concern is that the table margins are set back to a zero default as they should be. I have noticed many many problems with the mobile style sheet. No one seems to care but me, who is responsible for this?

@Zana Dark: Honestly, here's the problem about Uncyclopedia: it was never really designed with mobile use in mind, and basically no one has worked on improving mobile compatibility on Uncyclopedia. Mediawiki:Mobile.css has only had two editors, both resigned admins, prior to today. Hopefully in the future, you could start taking care of much of Uncyc's mobile compatibility at the stylesheet level (and not just the template/module level); it's a huge area of priority which has been left completely untouched. I tried removing the set margins in mobile.css, so it should default to 0px... please let me know if it still fucks up. I'm unfortunately not very skilled at CSS, despite me trying to proclaim the opposite. The problem persists. I appreciate you taking a look for me. I would be happy to take a look at the mobile stuff sometime, instead of fixing it on every template page one-by-one. For now, I have fixed the problem on my pages with local stylesheets, but it looks terrible everywhere else. {{User Gamer}} is one where I can check on my phone and see the borders are messed up. I am working on other templates that will remedy this problem in the future, hopefully. It has been a long haul from table-based design to css, and now mobile-friendly - especially for open-source coding and wikis in general. I knew transitioning was going to take at least a decade, so here we are. Thanks again! XOXO

I understand it's not easy to write these UN:News articles for everyone, which is why I recommended you take a good, long look at HTBFANJS. Reading it won't hurt you. Also, your examples aren't really funny... Funny articles generally have an overarching theme that makes them funny instead of something like: "factual retellting of an Event that actually happened, event that actually happened, Funny One-Liner!, event that actually happened."

A good UnNews article is made either of the basis of something that absolutely didn't happen and trying to make it sound as factual as possible, or something that did happen, but have some sort of zany twist to it. For instance, good topics could be "Someone Farted Really Loudly during the Oscars," or report on the lost Indonesian Submarine (something that actually happened), but put a zany twist on it, like how a Kraken got to it. Gale5050's essays should not have UN: short cuts. Can we please remove them? This only adds to the illusion that anyone gives a shit about his essays and that they are some how pseudo policy. People do care about XNR, as it has been used in QVFD/other deletion requests a few times before. I will give an example. It's never been directly quoted, but pretty widespread used.

I agree with removing the shortcuts. Yes, Gale5050, I know I mentioned the xnr thing when I moved Xi Jinping to my userspace, I was just trying to say that I don't care if the redirect stays or not before the article is expanded and improved. I wasn't trying to quote a policy, and while Wikipedia has good reasons for such a policy, I think here at Uncyc cross name redirects in many cases can be very useful. MrX there is. The harm is, these redirects drag readers into articles not ready. Now, with ICU/expansion/fix tags, that is already kind of true, but an article being worked on in userspace should not be visible to a casual Uncyclopedian who is just clicking across the site. The harm in having them is, people reading articles will get dragged into articles not publically ready. No, there was a mountain already. Several redirects existed to pages where it was not ready. Mike Pence is an example - the people want there to be a Mike Pence article, but that can't happen because that page is not ready. You think that (similar comments were recieved on Uncyclopedia:VFH/Your Harvard Admissions Decision Letter) - most Uncyclopedia readers are already fully involved with the style at Uncyclopedia and therefore immediately get everything, and you won't have a casual reader, and while that is partly true, and certainly ~85% of people are familiar with the beginning, but not everyone. especially Wikipedians coming here on 4/1. That’s why I don’t think we should have direct links to VFH noms, or the links to VFD, but I know they are popular and will let it slide, as they have survived for a while, but newer XNR’s shouldn’t have that chance. Well, on VFD he put a 21st article. It says, explicity ... Increase the number of articles on VFD to over 20. Violators will receive a free 1-day ban. This means, do not increase the number of active votes on VFD to over twenty. Inactive votes look like this (after the page's deletion), and closed nominations look like VFD-padlock.png THIS to indicate that they have been kept.

I think I misread the rule... I just think it's a little bit of a throw-off for the first part of the rule to say "Don't increase the amount of articles on VFD to 42, then say "oh BTW don't increase it to 20." I was confused on the "active votes" part, so I decided that I would keep the amount of articles I nominated under 20 (I only nominated 12). In addition, although the limit on active votes is 20, some of them have deserved to have been closed a while ago. (Like all of the ones who've been around more than ~300 hours.) Looking over some of them that I nominated, I could've put them on QVFD, but I was worried that they wouldn't apply. This is my bad, but I don't think what I did was that hurtful to VFD, and could've been avoided by other means. Yes Gale. I only suggest a block or sanction after tolerating shit multiple times and after I and others asking the person not to do it multiple times...fails. I would never suggest a block over a one time minor violation which the user apologises for and promises not to do again. If I suggested to Cassie a block or sanction and he disagrees (and he has disagreed numerous times) I don't keep insisting or arguing with him unless that user does something even worse. Respect the admins and don't admin the admin. Save your penalty suggestions for serious issues and once you've had your say...let the admins decide. Page for admin requests and notices

Cassie it is definitely time to set up a page for users to alert admins of issues (vandals/socks) and make certain requests. Your talk page should not be admin central. I suggest we set this up in the next few days. An ongoing forum would do. I highly suggest restricting it only to pointing out issues and making admin requests (with no complaints, admin handling advice or policy discussions permitted). Shall we get this going?
