yes and no. firstly: the angel with daddy issues is Gabriel, boss of 3-2 (In the Flesh) and 6-2 (Aesthetics of Hate). He has daddy issues because God is dead in Ultrakill, but he keeps on stomping the shit out of Hell's residents in the name of that bygone God. Make it to Ketchikan: AI Dungeon Edition

This is my first experience with AI Dungeon. I typed the following prompt into it:

You are a moccasin-sporting crazy guy named John whose goal is to get to Ketchikan, Alaska from Ojai, California. He is unafraid to hijack cars and hitchhike on trains, and the monsters of the wilderness are an ever-constant threat to you.

You stand on the cracked asphalt of a rural highway, the setting sun casting jagged shadows across the empty road. A single vehicle rumbles in the distance, its headlights cutting through the twilight like the eyes of some great beast. Your fingers twitch at your sides as you adjust your threadbare jacket and prepare to flag it down.

As the truck nears, you can make out its shape—an old, dented Peterbilt semi, hauling what looks like construction equipment. The driver's face is obscured by the glare of the headlights, but you can see the slow, deliberate way his head turns toward you as he approaches. He doesn't speed up or slow down.

You reach for the map on the passenger seat, unfolding it across the steering wheel. The northern California section is dog-eared and marked with various routes and notes in blue ink. You trace a path northward, noting the familiar town names—Redding, Mount Shasta, then the Oregon border beyond. Your finger taps against the paper as you calculate your route.

You kill the headlights and let the Subaru idle on the shoulder as you scan the dark tree line bordering the highway. The forest stretches black and impenetrable, with only the occasional silhouette of a large pine trunk breaking the monotony. Your eyes strain in the dim light, searching for any sign of movement—glowing eyes, shifting shadows, or anything out of place.

At first, there's nothing. Just the low hum of the Subaru's engine and the faint rustle of leaves in the night breeze. Then, in the deeper shadows beneath the pines, you catch a glimpse—something that doesn't belong. A shape, bigger than a coyote, shifting among the trees.

You slide back into the Subaru's driver seat, closing the door with careful silence. The interior light fades as you turn the key, the engine restarting with a soft purr. The headlights illuminate the road ahead, their glow stretching down the empty highway. Your eyes flick to the rearview mirror, and you see the dark shape detach itself from the trees, moving with an unnatural, rolling gait. It's large—much larger than you first guessed—and it's following.

Your foot eases onto the gas, the Subaru picking up speed as you steer back onto the highway. The thing behind you moves with unexpected speed, covering ground with long, loping strides. It's keeping pace, matching your speed.

You keep your foot steady on the gas pedal, the Subaru's speedometer creeping past 60, then 70. The thing behind you moves with increasing ease, its massive frame bouncing slightly as it adjusts to your speed. In the glow of your headlights, you catch glimpses—an elongated body covered in patchy fur, too wide for a bear, too low-slung for a deer. Its arms are disproportionately long, ending in clawed hands that scrape against the asphalt as it runs.

You risk another glance in the mirror. The creature's head is almost featureless, a vaguely canine muzzle with deep-set, unblinking eyes that catch the light with an unsettling glint.

>Get in front of another car

The highway remains largely empty, but in the distance, a pair of headlights grow larger. You press the Subaru harder, the engine responding as the speedometer climbs past 80. The thing behind you doesn't slow—if anything, it accelerates, its monstrous form becoming clearer as it closes the gap. It's now or never.

You swerve into the left lane, the Subaru's tires grip the pavement as you angle yourself for the pass. The approaching vehicle—a white pickup truck—is still far enough away that you should be able to complete the maneuver with time to spare.

Honestly, the grues are way scarier when you have to imagine how they look. I have no idea how, but this randomly generated AI game is better-written than the real thing. (Aside from the grue being described very inconsistently, that was pretty funny.) We truly live in terrifying times.

New gadget for users with rollback

It adds a new button in the "more" dropdown (or adds a new tab in monobook) which will patrol all edits on a page (though it has a limit of 10, any more than 10 and it appears to go really slowly.. So just spam press it for pages with more than 10 unreviewed changes). Tomorrow, after the server cache has been updated, it will also show a "patrol this edit" link to recent changes, the watchlist, as well as a few others too.

You kill a reindeer by hitting it really hard with a moccasin. While making sure that the elves aren't looking, you remove the reindeer's bones and walk around inside of its skin. Sure enough, the elves rescue you about thirty seconds before the first bomb makes an impact. You are taken through a portal to Jamaica, although your swamp is nowhere to be seen (and neither is Santa.)
