Forum:PLS September 2011
It's Poo Lit Surprise time!
How did this happen?
So I was like, "Hey Zombiebaron what's up?" Then he was like "Hey ChiefjusticeDS, want to host the PLS" and I was like "Sure!" that's how.
When is the PLS?
The PLS will begin on September 20th and will last until midnight October 4th when the judging will begin. This gives us 12 days to find judges and garner interest. If you don't think this is long enough kindly blow it out of your arse but do let me know.
What's new?
New to the PLS this time around is the Best Collaboration category, this came after there was some interest in such a category last time. A few notes on this:
- This category replaces Best Alternate Namespace Article.
- To compensate for the loss of Best Alternate Namespace Article the Best Main Namespace Article category has been expanded to include articles from any namespace (in an attempt to avoid difficulties when judging this category; articles from the UnTunes and UnPoetia namespaces will not be permitted).
- Best collaboration articles can be written by a maximum of two users. Please don't use any collaborative accounts (e.g. TOAST) to participate, if I suspect this is going on I will simply bin the category and have a good old sulk at anybody involved.
- A user can only be part of one collaborative team; so for instance if MadMax writes the article "Awesome" with Under user he cannot also write the article "Assorted Flange and Phnerbs" with Lyrithya.
What do you need from us?
I need some volunteers to judge the PLS, 3 judges for each of the 5 categories and 2 tiebreaker judges (you may only judge one category). Sign up for judging below listing which category you would prefer to judge, I will allocate judging spots on a first come first served basis so be sure to check that your chosen category is not full when you sign up. If you don't check you may end up a tie breaker judge, a fate worse than a fate worse than death.
Judges can still enter the PLS but obviously not the category that they are judging, that would be a world gone topsy turvy. Judges are expected to keep track of the competition and complete their judging on time, if you suspect you will not be able to fulfil this commitment don't sign up.
Questions
Read this to see if that answers them, if not you can ask on my talk page. If I am unavailable (If I don't reply within 24 hours) then you should ask Zombiebaron who I have volunteered to help me out with running the competition this year.
Do you work out?
Yes.
Really?
No.

Judge Volunteers
We now have judges assigned to all categories, the listings are here so you can check where you ended up. We still need one tie breaker judge so if you fancy a spot of non-work then you can add your name directly to the listings.
- Guildensternenstein My first choices would be best mainspace article and best alt. article, though I'd judge anything really. —Unführer Guildy Ritter von Guildensternenstein 12:21, September 8, 2011 (UTC)
- No real time to write this go-around, but I can take a look at some collabs/rewrites, whichever. -- 14:12, September 8, 2011 (UTC)
- I can judge the best noob/rewrite/illustrated. --ShabiDOO 14:19, September 8, 2011 (UTC)
- I'd be glad to judge this time around. Sign me up for best main, or any other category if it's needed more. -RAHB 16:41, September 8, 2011 (UTC)
- I really don't mind what categories I judge, but i'd rather go with mainspace or noob category. -- PLEB SIR Lollipop (TALK) - updated on 8 September 2011, at 22:25
- I'll take whatever. ~Sir Frosty (Talk to me!) 07:36, September 9, 2011 (UTC)
- I'd like to judge the noob category. Thanks. -- 20:12, September 9, 2011 (UTC)
- What Frosty said^^. I'm in. 21:27, September 9, 2011 (UTC)
- I participated last year and would like to participate again this year. Rewrite category again. --Wilytank can be a pain in the ass. 16:23, September 10, 2011 (UTC)
- If judges can participate in other categories, I'd be glad to help out with Best Noob or Illustrated; the two I am most unlikely to enter. --Black Flamingo 18:18, September 10, 2011 (UTC)
- Put me down for illustrated. --monika 02:43, September 14, 2011 (UTC)
- I'd willingly judge something that needs it. ~ 20:49, 14 September 2011
- I'll do main, if you still need people who are experienced with this judging thing. Maybe I'll even have my results in on time.
- I hate all of you fuckers. -- Sir Mhaille (talk to me)
- I fuck all of you haters. Metaphorically speaking of course. Metaphorically right in the arse. Err, anything except illustrated will be good. I understand and I wish to continue. . 09:30, September 15, 2011 (UTC)

I think that the PLS should be conducted entirely on an aircraft carrier. Discuss. -RAHB 16:41, September 8, 2011 (UTC)

Lets be very serious for a moment
“‘If a man sleeps with a female slave who is promised to another man but who has not been ransomed or given her freedom, there must be due punishment. Yet they are not to be put to death, because she had not been freed. The man, however, must bring a ram to the entrance to the tent of meeting for a guilt offering to ***. With the ram of the guilt offering the priest is to make atonement for him before *** for the sin he has committed, and his sin will be forgiven.
Now is this from the Koran, The epic of Gilgamesh, The bible or the Zoroastrian "Avesta". Guess...without searching online. The same passage says that its usually okay to violate your OWN slave. It didn't say what happens if you violate a male slave (being some one elses or yours) so I assume everyone was doing that.
Now lets get funny for a moment
Mr Cheif Justice...in the colab section...can the users suggest and or agree on possible TOPICS beforehand...while not discussing content, strategy, ideas?!?!?!? --ShabiDOO 06:00, September 10, 2011 (UTC)
- I'll field this question. As with all past PLSs, users are allowed to start whatever work they would like off-wiki before the contest starts. That goes for the Best Collaboration section as well, so feel free to plan and strategies as much as you want with your partner, but keep all your work off the wiki. -- The Zombiebaron 06:05, September 10, 2011 (UTC)
- Does that also include actual content? Or just planning and strategising. Thanks Mr. Zombiebaron. Your good deed brings you one step closer to ***. --ShabiDOO 06:23, September 10, 2011 (UTC)
- We can't stop you writing content down off-wiki; you can plan your article out and discuss what you will do at length as long as it is kept off-wiki. I assume when you say actual content you mean parts of the article you will present in the PLS, you can write bits down and see what your partner thinks before the competition begins, though we would rather you didn't just copy and paste in a completed article in the moment the competition starts. Remember that you have 13 days to write the content of your article when the competition has started; there is no real rush to start writing bits of content beforehand. --ChiefjusticePS3 07:25, September 10, 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks Chief Justice...this all makes sense. You have answered all of my questions. Except for one of course. How many rams should be sacraficed to *** if one violated forty slaves that belong to their cousin, of which 5 are pending their freedom and of which 5 are already 120 years old? --ShabiDOO 08:02, September 10, 2011 (UTC)
- At least 32, but no more than 27. --ChiefjusticePS3 08:37, September 10, 2011 (UTC)
