FYI, no that's not garbage lol
Hey! No that's not garbage lol. A fine headline and a fine start to what promises to be a great article. I assume/hope we function more or less the same way the Norwegian Uncyc does. Feel free to put almost anything in your user space, and let me know if you ever have any questions. Cheers. MrX 18:27, 7 February 2022 (UTC)
Why'd you vandalize my page?
I specifically gave a warning on my user page to not edit it until I allow the edit after a discussion on my talk page. Why'd you edit it? And should I make a "vandalize here!" version of my user page, so vandals can go ham? ARandomPage, the named space (ARandomTalkPage) (Stuff they do) 12:30, 27 March 2022 (UTC)
- I didn’t see that part of your user page, sorry. I edited it because of this edit as a joke.
- I don’t really care if you create a version of your userpage everyone can edit. Chances are that it won’t be used.

- It's on the upper section of the page, so it should be more accessible. Thanks for clarifying, and remember not to do that again. ARandomPage, the named space (ARandomTalkPage) (Stuff they do) 13:06, 27 March 2022 (UTC)
- I probably won’t.

The Asylum-Seeker’s Guide to Visiting McDonalds
Thank you so much for your charming note. I was aware that I don’t own the article, although, I did write every word of it. And your contribution was....adding a category? Had you bothered to check the edit history you’d have seen that I was removing a photo added for a second or third time, knowingly against my will, that didn’t fit the article (about the US when the article is set in the U.K.) and which wasn’t even close to being amusing. Had you looked a bit harder you’d have noticed that someone else had simply deleted the photo from uncyclopedia entirely - meaning that the unfunny words were there but the unfunny photo was now missing. My reverting to the previous version was clearly an improvement, but if it removed some category you’d added then I can see why your whining comment was worth the effort. However, you don’t own my article either. Sog1970 (talk) 09:03, 2 April 2022 (UTC)

Please vote here. It's very important!!! ARandomPage, the named space (ARandomTalkPage) (Stuff they do) 13:54, 1 May 2022 (UTC)
- I doubt it being that important. 14:00, 1 May 2022 (UTC)
- Yes, it is VERY important. This conflict has been going on for around a year, so a name is needed. ARandomPage, the named space (ARandomTalkPage) (Stuff they do) 01:16, 4 May 2022 (UTC)
- I have already voted for two of the options. I’m not going to vote for another one. 05:46, 4 May 2022 (UTC)
Congratumulations!
You are now an extended confirmed user! This comes with perks, such as:
- Adding or removing A's to the AAAAAAAAA! article (no reason to do that now, though)
- Vandalizing my main signature
- Vandalizing other people's signatures (why would you do that)
- Being a much more trusted user, and thus, being able to impersonate an innocent Spoon editor for a while (until they find out)
- Being eligible for Sandwich (not Sysop) of the Month
If you have any questions, slap ARandomPage with a whale using this template. They're sure to respond to that! ARandomPage, the named space (ARandomTalkPage) (Stuff they do) 00:31, 20 May 2022 (UTC)
Thanks again
For always doing a good job with everything. Your contributions have not gone unnoticed, not by a long shot. Thanks again. Quick question, how do you say "Thank you" in Norsk? MrX 07:42, 24 May 2022 (UTC)
- "Thank you" in norwegian is "Takk". 07:46, 24 May 2022 (UTC)

You have been bricked from editing for a period of until your propaganda image gets deleted for spreading pro-cat sentiment.. If you think there are good reasons for being unbricked, please write them down on a pineapple and shove it right up Page's talkpage. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions, but it is highly recommended that you stop spreading pro-cat sentiment.. - Well, cats themselves are bad. This is because they hurt people a lot and are often the subject of bad images like that propaganda I placed where it belongs. ARandomPage, the named space (ARandomTalkPage) (Stuff they do) 14:38, 15 July 2022 (UTC)
- Ok, but how did they hurt people? I get that they can bite and all that, but most animals do that already.
- They bite more than many other animals. Plus, they poop and pee EVERYWHERE, and cleaning that up takes up a lot of time. Not to mention the sheer cost of taking care of one. Troubles with IPV6 malicious editors
Hello. Recently I noticed that a lot of vandalizing was happening and that the particularity of this user which do not seem to be blockable was that he has an IPV6. Wanting to investigate I stumbled on this information: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=32038215 Wouldn't, as they suggest, force users to have an account, and ban user names instead of IPs work? – Preceding unsigned comment added by Serge Billault (talk • contribs)
- I’m aware that IPv6-adresses may be hard to block, especially those that change frequently. But i’m not an admin, so you should probably ask one of them instead of me.
- And they're actually not that hard to block. That link you shared also has a link to a Wikipedia essay that explains it pretty well. It's down near the bottom. It explains that blocking a /64 range for IPv6 will almost always be blocking just one person with little/no collateral damage. MrX 17:46, 18 July 2022 (UTC)
- Oh yeah, you’re right. I really can’t remember the last time i had to block a range of IPv6-adresses, so i might be a little out of touch with that stuff.
- Actually /64 IPv6 blocks can still block multiple people, they block mostly the same as a single IPv4 IP but those IPs are also shared. IPs as a whole are a really complex concept, in countries like Russia and China they group way too many people together on the same IP because of something regarding censorship I think (StopForumSpam explained it better, I completely forgot why this happens). Also, IPs reveal your ISP and rough location, but because of the concept being developed in the early times of the Internet, privacy and security was never really a concern then. IP blocks as a whole are really complicated and I prefer to avoid them if they're unnecessary. Also I've probably gotten some things wrong, my understanding in regards to these kinds of abstract concepts isn't great. Microsoft for POTUS (talk) 17:17, 13 November 2022 (UTC)
- I´m no expert at IPs, but i´m fairly certain that lots of people being grouped on the same IPv4-address or IPv6-range is reserved for schools and workplaces and stuff like that.
- Not always. Mobile data IPs for example are heavily shared. And even IPs that aren't any of those can be shared by a few or more people. Microsoft for POTUS (talk) 17:45, 13 November 2022 (UTC)

- That user is inactive. The IP (or group of IPs) have rewritten basically the entire article at this point.
- Oh. I forgot to check if the IP group's edits actually changed the page too much... In that case, I can't really complain about the reversion there. (Though I might complain about the rule leading to that reversion, but then maybe Brogo might end up edit-warring with the IP, and I need to stop talking now.) You have been bricked from editing for a period of as many minutes as the number of moons in the Solar System for making several pages to show pro-cat propaganda. If you think there are good reasons for being unbricked, please write them down on a pineapple and shove it right up ARandomTalkPage. Once the brick has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions, but it is highly recommended that you stop making several pages to show pro-cat propaganda. Thaaanks! Do you wanna help continue this article?
How to write unnecessarily long headlines that annoy everyone who reads them because they take up too much space, but at the same time makes you feel good because it's funny to write headlines without periods that have no actual content. I took it from you a few weeks ago since it wouldn't be continued, but now I've run out of ideas on continuing it and don't know how to end it. Do you have anything to say? ARandomPage, the named space (ARandomTalkPage) (Stuff they do) 10:41, 13 August 2022 (UTC)

- And maybe this edit too? Had to remove my IP. Also, do you speak alien? That IP you reverted speaks alien-furry, which is bad since I don't know alien or furry (the userpage message saying otherwise is a joke). What the hell did it say? And I wanna punch the IP. Thanks for adding the ICU, but: 1. the non-existent templates and categories make me wonder if the page is plagiarized from somewhere (especially given the different writing style compared to the IP's other edits), and 2. Twitter license
The license for Twitter photos isn't always the same iirc, it depends on what license the author gave to it. So unless it's licensed under a free license, anything on Twitter is copyrighted, so maybe File:Cat biting finger.jpeg is a copyright violation, but I doubt that there is anything to actually sue over just because someone put your cat picture on their profile. At worst it could lead to a DMCA request. Microsoft for POTUS (talk) 01:27, 4 November 2022 (UTC)

Why’d Gaither’s Pond get thrown out of the Userspace?
Why did it?Most of the complaining except for the end was purely for joking, and the reception bit was to make it feel more like an actual Wikipedia article.Hopefully with some more editing.Gaither’s Pond can join the userspace again! DanubianAgumon,Your local Digimon. 21:34, 4 November 2022 (UTC)
- Yeah, there is still a fair amount of complaining in there. Also, it´s kinda short. 22:12, 4 November 2022 (UTC)
I decided to improve the article a bit, expanding it and stuff along with getting rid with more of the complaining with the only one left being the reception and legacy and even then, I slid in a legacy bit to talk about some of the influence the episodes documented had on the Baltimore-Washington Area. A site like this which is NOT satire
Hello, the PSSD article I created will NOT have satire or humor. I am afraid this site does not allow that and I will have to move it somewhere else. This site was FALSELY recommended to me in mediawiki discord chat as a response to the following question:
Hello, please suggest a website to me where every criteria below is met.
✅ Not owned by Wikimedia foundation
✅ Uses mediawiki with the same editor and format as wikipedia
✅ Extremely low level of moderation, no "reliable sources" bs
✅ Everyone can create an account without waiting long for approval by humans
✅ Encyclopedia which is either general purpose or medical focused
✅ Anonymous accounts Pssd1 (talk) 16:55, 6 November 2022 (UTC)
@Pssd1: That´s where you´re wrong. This is a satire wiki. Whoever recommended you this wiki was either joking or didn´t know what they were talking about. 16:51, 6 November 2022 (UTC)
@BraGreMat: The fact that this is a satire wiki does not mean I was wrong. My article will not contain satire and if this site does not allow it then please recommend another one according to criteria above. Pssd1 (talk) 16:55, 6 November 2022 (UTC)
@Pssd1: Uhhh, Wikipedia? Look, if you´re trying to find a non-satire wiki that fits all of your requirements then i have to tell you that there probably isn´t one. Just about every single serious wiki i´ve seen requires reliable sources. And if you´re aiming to write an article about a medical condition then you more or less need reliable sources either way. 16:59, 6 November 2022 (UTC)
@BraGreMat: I am blocked from Wikipedia over arguments about a single edit on a non-medical article and it all came down to arguments to which sources are reliable and which ones aren't. My principle of editing is to add everything I know and add sources later. My plan is to get this article as extensive as possible, then someone should create a copy of it on Wikipedia with non-WP:MEDRS sources and info not supported by MEDRS removed. So please suggest me a site with exact same editor as here and minimal moderation. Wikispooks for example seemed fine to me but their registration didn't work. Pssd1 (talk) 17:12, 6 November 2022 (UTC)
- Sorry, i don’t have any recommendations. But if you’re planning to keep the article here, you should make it funny. Otherwise i will probably have to delete it when the ICU-tag expires. This isn’t Wikipedia’s trashbin, you know.
- What's your Wikipedia username? I could look into your edits for you. Why not try to appeal? Microsoft for POTUS (talk) 17:35, 6 November 2022 (UTC)
- Sighh, this guy deleted all his messages in the MediaWiki server and stormed off. That backend developer that fixed our database and upgraded MediaWiki for us a while ago was the one who suggested Uncyc to them, likely because they couldn't tell the person wanted a wiki to write a serious article on. - So does this wiki use flagged revisions too? I wouldn't be surprised really, but WB made no effort to hide it. It seems other wikis do, so assume most wikis don't use it. L10nM4st3r ROAR at me! / What my paws scratched 14:22, 7 November 2022 (UTC)
- No, having to patrol edits is standard across just about every wiki. I don’t know what system Wikibooks used, but it sounds very similar.
- The whole autopatrolling/reviewing thing is just another layer of bureaucracy for Wikipedia. If they're worried about an article being vandalized or something by new editors, they can just semi-protect it. But that got repetitive, and Wikipedia absolutely loves bureaucracy, so they created another thing. It also allows overzealous editors to do that thing they call "hat collecting" and put another logo on their user page. We don't have it here because it's exhaustingly pointless. Hope my rant was at least mildly entertaining. Cheers. MrX 18:23, 7 November 2022 (UTC)
- I see it as a way to keep out unwelcome guests with reduced chance of one making it through the fire with only mild burns. L10nM4st3r ROAR at me! / What my paws scratched 21:01, 7 November 2022 (UTC)
- Wikipedia uses that halfassed semi-protection thing so that IPs can make productive contributions to a page that hasn't been targeted by any signed in/advanced vandals. Anyway, on here, there is an autopatrolled thing, which makes your revisions automatically marked as patrolled in Uncyc recent changes. I don't know if I'm the only one here, though, who patrols edits. Microsoft for POTUS (talk) 14:29, 8 November 2022 (UTC)
- I also patrol, so you’re not alone. 14:53, 8 November 2022 (UTC)

Remembering long strings
The following strings are the ones I am expected to/do remember:
- The alphabet - I only remember the first half
- My old 20-character WiFi password - I memorized it then forgot it
- My old IP address - I memorized it then forgot it
So, yes, you CAN remember long strings! Microsoft for POTUS (talk) 03:45, 12 November 2022 (UTC)
- Yes, but remembering dozens of long strings of random numbers is still not something most people do.
- Ok fair Microsoft for POTUS (talk) 17:15, 12 November 2022 (UTC)

English
I'm surprised you speak English so well given that you are not a native speaker. I have never been able to do a good job at speaking a language other than English (which is my native language) in a gramatically correct way. Great job! Microsoft for POTUS (talk) 16:01, 18 November 2022 (UTC)
- It´s probably because here in Norway we have (at least) 11 years of English in school.
- That's interesting, well good job. Microsoft for POTUS (talk) 16:15, 18 November 2022 (UTC)

Rest in peace
Please don't make any jokes to deceased persons. Ki Joko Bodo is RIP today. Indah (talk)
- Uhhh, ok? Look, I don´t exactly understand why we shouldn´t have jokes about some guy who died, especially when the edits containing their jokes were probably made years ago.
- What if your dad is Ki Joko Bodo? Indah (talk) 13:24, 22 November 2022 (UTC)
- Sill, there is no reason to remove jokes about someone who recently died. We even re-featured an article about the Queen Elizabeth around the time she died. 13:27, 22 November 2022 (UTC)
- Yes, it is funny article. I know Indonesia language. The dirty words are not funny at all. Indah (talk) 13:30, 22 November 2022 (UTC)
- That´s your opinion then. Everyone is allowed to have opinions. But putting QVFD-tags on articles you want deleted without a good reason is not ok. I´m gonna give you this warning: Stop putting QVFD-tags on those articles. They don´t belong to QVFD. 13:34, 22 November 2022 (UTC)

What should I do to fix the situation? (Btw the article is WLVI)DanubianAgumon,Your local Digimon. 02:14, 29 November 2022 (UTC)

User:DeletedUser51be906d - grossly unneeded protection of multiple articles and templates
Hi, I don't know if you are aware of the history of User:DeletedUser51be906d (also known as User:Zana Dark). He/she/it was a rather vile and obnoxious editor who blatantly refused to work in unison with other editors here (even long-standing trusted editors, and sysops/'crats on other trusted wiki sites). Sysop-level protection was her Hitler-like tool of choice for anyone who dared to edit anything it disagreed with!
So basically, what I am asking - if you have time on your travels here on Uncyclopedia and you see needless protection from that offending user - can you please either lower protection level, or totally remove protection level? Thanks in advance. Hoof Hearted • WikiIndex sysop / 'crat / staff • talk2HH 16:04, 30 November 2022 (UTC)
- Yeah, i could probably do that.
- @BraGreMat:, @Hoof Hearted:. Ahem. I'm not sure you quite understand what template protection is for. "A blocked editor did it" is not justification for removing protection. Templates are protected if they are used on many pages, because vandalizing the template would allow for the indirect vandalism of possibly hundreds of pages at once. Last year, some idiot vandalized files and templates used on the main page and that banner at the top which asks signed out people to edit Uncyc. There is very good reason to sysop-protect some things. No, these templates do not need sysop protection, but extended confirmed protection is fitting. That main page problem
You can stop the creation of any more fake main pages, add this to MediaWiki:Titleblacklist:
Main Page.+– Preceding unsigned comment added by Microsoft for POTUS (talk • contribs)
- First of all: No, that could block legitimate pages with Main Page in the title. And also, i didn´t understand how you add stuff there either way, so i couldn´t even if i wanted to.
- No, it wouldn't. It will only block pages that start with Main Page (case sensitive) and then have at least one character after it. Microsoft for POTUS (talk) 17:31, 3 December 2022 (UTC)
- Oh, ok. But i still don´t know how to add titles in there.
- Oh I see, just press the edit page button and add 2 new lines below the lines already there, and add the thing. Also, I just realized it's case insensitive by default, but you can make it case sensitive this way:

Image Removal?
I was making a joke relating to the 1st lines of the article, adding an image of the old WEVV-TV logo but it seems it got reverted. Why is it that? Edit: Oops, forgot to put in the name. Fox (TV channel)

Illnesses
You know, I'm suprised I haven't died yet. After having at least 7 diseases a month. At least they strengthen my immune system LIES! Take that, you mother-fuchers! Considering how I'm talking about mothers, those mothers and those they "fuck" are gay. I must "suitably emphazi" (a Wikipedia in-joke) that that is a suitable punishment for them. L10nM4st3r ROAR at me! / What my paws scratched 20:54, 12 December 2022 (UTC)
- 7 diseases in a month? That has to be some sort of world record. 22:32, 12 December 2022 (UTC)
- Suitably emphazi? I've never heard of that. Does anyone mind explaining what it is and telling me where it is on WP? ARandomPage, the named space (ARandomTalkPage) (Stuff they do) 03:31, 13 December 2022 (UTC)
- Nobody remembers it anymore, but one person said something lke "Please sutbly emphazi your reliable sources". Then everybody used it all over Wikipedia (apparently) for a while. Found it on w:wp:BJAODN. And you're right, I've set a world record!
One to be proud ofnot that it was that difficult. When kids give you an ilnesevery few weeks, eventually they will all turn up with a different illness, it is no suprise I got them after being sneezed and coughed on. This was maybe in October. I just damn hope nobody in my family nver get meningitis. L10nM4st3r ROAR at me! / What my paws scratched 16:31, 13 December 2022 (UTC)

WLVI (Pee Review) Issues
Lately, I’ve been trying to have my article WLVI be Pee reviewed but I can’t seem to get it to work. I tried the copy and paste thing but it still doesn’t work. DanubianAgumon,Your local Digimon. 01:50, 17 December 2022 (UTC)
- Yeah, you need to get someone to review it first. And that might be difficult, because there isn´t really anyone that has done that in a while. 10:00, 17 December 2022 (UTC)
