So, I recently completed my first article, "Death Grips", and I'm pushing it to be featured. A recent edit from another user somewhat exasperated me, by rearranging the order of quotation marks and apostrophes, with commas, periods, question marks, and the like.

The order of quotations and, let's say a period, is as follows: "I'm a shithead." This is the correct order, unlike "I'm a shithead". That is incorrect. The same goes for question marks, commas, exclamation points, and question marks. The only exceptions, are colons.

And, one more thing, if the subject in quotes is a title, then do away with the quotation marks and italicize the subject, with the ending punctuation unitalicized.

No need to thank me. You're welcome for this lecture. I'm happy to say that contributions like these matter, and that I'm contributing now go to your next class. Thank you. (-Synagog Uelicker :^)

We're not Wikipedia. [Period. Paragraph.] We're a parody of them, i.e. a valiant attempt to fool everybody (including each other) that at first glance we are them. Thus I consistently try to apply their "rules". Brogo13 (talk) 20:18, 14 July 2022 (UTC)
I´m pretty sure that we are trying to parody Wikipedia, not fool people into thinking that we actually are Wikipedia. Those are two wildly different things. Alula.gifAlula.gif 20:50, 14 July 2022 (UTC)
And for the record, I'm trying to do both of those things :) MrX blow me Emoji-drool.gif 20:56, 14 July 2022 (UTC)
K, first off, most of Brogo's edits were correct with regards to grammar. The period can be correct inside or outside of the quotation marks, depending on the context. Titles of "big" things like books, movies, etc. should usually be italicized, while titles of "small" things like songs, articles, etc. should usually be in quotes.
That being said, Brogo, I'm getting tired of explaining this to you. Even though we are a parody of Wikipedia, we do not always have to follow all of their rules. Even though your grammar edits are usually correct, they are not always wanted by the article's author. You know that Wikipedia policy on "ownership"? Basically turn it upside down and apply it here. Synagoguelicker or any other editor can "claim ownership" to a certain extent on articles they created. If they wanna use <blockquote> instead of {{Q|, that's their choice, and that's fine. If someone wants to use a different set of grammar rules or flat out incorrect grammar in their articles, that's fine too. MrX blow me Emoji-drool.gif 20:53, 14 July 2022 (UTC)
I meant "a valiant attempt to fool everybody (including each other) at first glance that ..." My bad. As was my forgetting (again) that lots of their templates (e.g., unspaced endashes) may or may not work over here. I hereby disclaim ownership of every article here at The Fork (thanks, Spike) except one. Brogo13 (talk) 21:42, 14 July 2022 (UTC)

You know what? Apologies for setting this precedent. I have forgotten that it is not my page, but IT IS OUЯ PAGE! -Synagog Uelicker :^)
