Vaporwave
VAPORWAVE っ鬱ホ is a musical style that emerged at the beginning of this century (depending on which century you are in, of course), but was only "rediscovered" by unbathed virgins in the year 2010 on Tumblr, which soon after grew a lot in popularity, until it reached the ears of the millennials who like to brag about enjoying different musical genres. Nowadays, this musical style has several subgenres.
Origins[edit | edit source]
As with anything bizarre on the internet, the style also emerged on 4chan, as well as other more prestigious sites such as Bandcamp (place where nobody buys) and started simply with a few unemployed doing some mixing because there was nothing much to do. However, it was on Tumblr that the movement gained strength... now, why on Tumblr?
