Not really a Pee Review[edit source]

Follow up to our discussion.

I only found two versions, this and that. Frankly, I wouldn't have found the second one if I didn't know you had done it and hadn't agreed to check this out, and I doubt many users would either. I like the concept of "multiple personality" gives you different articles; I think one of your strengths here is that you go beyond the limits and try different things (although you've also made great contributions in existing forms). But I think the way this is set up will require too much from the reader. Personally, "GET THIS NOW MAEK HER SCREAM FOR MERCY WITH YOUR KING DONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! [http://www.tifareth.com/penis-enlargement/index.html right" would not have got me clicking the link; it would have got me going to VFD. If I weren't active here, I would simply have looked for another article and ignored the link.

If there was some way you could make several personalities all easily findable on the same article, it might work. For example, on one visit the reader might see one personality and several sections, each section have a "click on" link that in fact went to a different version of the same article. That I think could work. As usually, this is only one person's opinion. Happy editing! King of the Internet Alden Loveshade??? (royal court)  22:45, December 21, 2009 (UTC)

Actually, both of those versions are So so's. My contribution was somewhat different, being User:PuppyOnTheRadio/Dissociative Identity Disorder. But all in all, you've basically pointed out what I felt was the major flaw with both the original and with my version, so I think I might just let this one die until I can work out a better concept for the whole thing. Pup
All righty! King of the Internet Alden Loveshade??? (royal court)  22:58, December 21, 2009 (UTC)
Why: With the original, it might make more sense if you start from the first revision and then read through them one at a time.
Puppy: I dunno, have it change in 10 seconds (depending on the length of the page) without reloading? You could probably do it with a little javascript. --Pleb SYNDROME CUN medicate (butt poop!!!!) 00:21, December 22, 2009 (UTC)
If wikimedia let me use javascript I would. Unfortunately I'm limited to flash (which creates issues and I' never used) or animated gif (which I used for microsoft knowledge base but couldn't use for a full page as it wouldn't format right, look ugly, etc.) No real solution. It's back to the realms of deep user space for this one. Sigh. Pup
Admins can set CSS for specific pages, and they can probably (possibly) do the same thing with JavaScript. If you want to go for it, make sure it works in your own uncyclopedia.js and then pester an admin. (Or pester an admin first, since I'm not sure.) --Pleb SYNDROME CUN medicate (butt poop!!!!) 03:25, December 22, 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for the Pee![edit source]

The baby got featured OK, and it wasn't even my intention. Many of you make me sorry I decided to leave but I'm not to be bribed - least of all after my good bye rant. Have a look at the final exchange on the talk page of Classical Satire for a quick larf. It would also be fun to nitpick your Pee for good measure, all except the final part. Nice. -- Style Oranssiviiva.jpg Guide 07:47, December 22, 2009 (UTC)

Example of Australian English[edit source]

Hi! Would you please move your example of proper speaking from White folks to Australian? Australian already has a glossary but doesn't have an example. Whereas it doesn't belong in White folks, because neither this nor any of the other country-specific sections there have anything to do with whiteness, and I'm on the verge of deleting them all. I'd move it myself but the one footnote already in Australian would have to leapfrog the footnotes in your section and I don't know how to do it. PS--Is that a clickable animated GIF? Wow. Spıke ¬  14:05 22-Dec-09

Thanks. Spıke ¬  04:25 23-Dec-09

More about your signature[edit source]

Your signature (and many other pieces of Uncyclopedia code, such as embedding a thumbnail inside a paragraph) inhibit the surrounding paragraph from being represented using the conventional code for a <P>paragraph.</P> This makes it fail to pick up my local style rule for P and makes the paragraph look different. You are certainly not concerned about the latter, but might be interested in the former. Spıke ¬  00:37 16-Jan-10

OK, coolest signature in the world[edit source]

Yep. I've got a man crush on your keyboard, it's like Jimmy Page's guitar. Other people have them, but to make it sing takes a few of the purple pills and an eight of an ounce of the mud weed. Aleister in Chains 14:57, December 22, 2009 (UTC)

I figure I'm done with it as much as I can be. It has been rewritten a few times and you've added some fantastic elements. I think that it is about as good as I can do - actually, I think it's better than what I can do, so I'm happy to have it go up VFH. Pup

Overt Linkage for those who have difficulty finding articles hidden behind fancy blue words that aren't the same name: Uncyclopedia:Pee Review/User:PuppyOnTheRadio/Sandbox

If it gets voted down, then I'm not surprised. It's always hard to get self-referential humour on the front page. POOF died the same death the first time it went up, and became less funny when I removed the self referential aspect and put it back there, and only got quasi-featured. The advantage here is that even if it doesn't get on the front page, it's getting people to read more of your work, and this was an extremely well written piece. And thanks for the review. Pup

I am currently working or a article on the show Whale Wars (it can be viewed here), but I'm kinda having some trouble of thinking what else to put on there, so I'm asking a few people on ideas, including you. If you have an idea, you can either go to the discussion page on that article or my talk page and tell me your idea. And please, don't suggest anything stupid (something that contradicts the HTBFANJS). If you don't have an idea, then sorry for wasting your time (or am I?). Appreciated. Carebears also needs a once over if and when you get the chance. Also try not to be too hard on Ptok - he's helping clear up the queue and you, chief and I have to recall that a good review doesn't always need to be extremely detailed to be helpful. Your sig[edit source]

Fix it. Ta. -OptyC Sucks! Icons-flag-us.png CUN14:59, 26 Dec

I fixed it for you. Probably. Though you should also be signing with a timestamp. Also, I'm going to move all the subpages from User:POTR/etc to User:PuppyOnTheRadio/etc. Just because that's where they should be. In case you suddenly can't find them. Spang talk 23:30, 26 Dec 2009
I realised what was happening when my email inbox suddenly exploded. Problem with the sig is that it's working as a block element and I'm trying to work out a way I can get it inline. I right floated to partially remove the problem but it created more problems. If you can think of a solution then let me know. The best I can come up with is to have it in a div and have the div inline, but I haven't quite gotten it right yet. Pup {{SUBST:User:POTR/comment}}00:13, 27/12/2009-->
... Except I already fixed it! I put it inside an inline table. Though looks like you'll need to update your sig in the preferences, seeing as POTR/comment has moved now. Spang talk 03:13, 27 Dec 2009
I am on my phone and not my 'puter so I didn't notice the inline table change. That was going to be the next option. And I will get around to chaning the sig preferences as soon as I'm on a pc. Pup {{SUBST:User:POTR/comment}}06:09, 27/12/2009--> and doesn't that look ugly now. :(

Just kidding. But stop being so modest, you deserve the nomination. And I read Monitor after it made the front page (sorry I never voted on it), and it's awesome like all your other stuff. And no, this is not be buttering you up so you vote for me. Not at all. Nope... —Unführer Guildy Ritter von Guildensternenstein 04:39, January 2, 2010 (UTC)

I'm not being modest. I honestly feel that you, Orian, Mac, Hyper and Sog have been the most consistently outstanding contributors of new material to the site, and I'm still working it all out. I have done a lot with some funky coding which makes my stuff stand out, but if you were to remove the funky coding from Monitor or UnDebate: Is it ever right to restrict freedom of speech?, then I doubt either of these would have become features. If there was a Coder of the Month, I'd be pissed to miss out on it. In fact it has been your and Orian's work that I've been using as a guideline for the most part on how to improve my own. (Having said that I'm going through the development of a new funky coding page that takes in elements of what was done in a few earlier pages as well, especially Microsoft Knowledge Base, UnTunes:Goodbye facebook screen (Social Networking the wind) and User:PuppyOnTheRadio/Fuckwit - English translator. Lots of work and asking Spang for help.) Pup
Wow. First of all, I'm flattered that you regard my stuff so highly, and second of all, your work is far more than just fancy coding. For instance, Street Fighter, Isaac The Tank Engine, and your piece on Postmodernist Art had no or next to no fancy code to speak of, and all three are pretty damn good. Like I said, at very least, you deserve a nomination. —Unführer Guildy Ritter von Guildensternenstein 06:44, January 2, 2010 (UTC)

Stopped Editing??[edit source]

Hi, and thank you for voting for me for that nipple thing. Appreciated. Stopped editing? Have done too many edits the last couple of days, had to actually get pulled away from the laptop by concerned people a few times. Anyway, yesterday I wrote and posted the Unnews page on the Kennedy Assassination, 'UnNews:Kennedy Assassination Solved',kand have spent time polishing many of my articles among others. I would like some feedback if you have a few minutes on 'Anne Hathaway' (totally mine, and I'm getting to really love this page) and here's a fun one which would get me executed in some countries: Star of David. I found it as a stub with a weird core idea, and expanded on the idea until it's reaching an interesting point. Came across a comment about the existence of a file pic of a spinning Star of David, have searched but can't find it, apparantly it was very controversial, so of course I'd like to use it. Any ideas or additions for the page, I don't know if anyone else has seen it yet. And happy new decades, thanks again for everything, but esp. Buffy! Aleister in Chains 3 January MMX

Another style-sheet question[edit source]

I've got a style sheet that has successfully changed the font and color of text in TEXTAREA and INPUT items, including on the page I'm typing into. But "background-color" won't change the background from white. Works on the feedback page of my local newspaper, but not in Uncyclopedia. Is this is another futile quest like url()? Spıke ¬  04:07 8-Jan-10

I don't play with CSSs as such, but just use in-line coding. But let me see what you have so far and I can have a play with it and see what I can do. Stupid question, but have you tried using "background: #123456;" and seeing what that will do? Pup

           background-color: lightyellow !important;
                  color: #600 !important }
INPUT {font: bold 10pt Spik2009 !important;
           background-color: lightgreen !important }

Everything but background-color works; and again, I get the exact desired effect on other sites. With Mozilla 3.0.8. Spıke ¬  11:58 8-Jan-10

What's the post code? Pup

You sir![edit source]

As you seem to be some kind of coding genious, I was wondering if you can give me a hand with something. I need to create a template for the top ten articles of 2009. Typically it looks like this:

{{2008Top10}}.

I was thinking doing something similar this year with adding a stamp somewhere on the top, something like the "featured" stamp that says - top ten 2009, only without disturbing the featured stamp and without making it look like crap.

Do you have the time/will to live give me a hand? ~Jewriken.GIF 15:55, January 19, 2010 (UTC)

Love to help but time is not on my side at the moment. It doesn't seem like too hard a task though so might have a chance to get to it tonight my time. Alternatively Spang is my go to guy for anything that is over my head, so feel free to hassle him about it. Pup
Okay, I've been playing with the concept a while, and the options I have are removing the spud and having another image in it's place - something that incorporates the spud but also plays with the top 10, similar to the WOTM trophy. Problem here is not coding but concept, as the best I can come up with is creamed potatoe - note the American spelling. The second option is in line with the featured, but a stamp below the spud - easy enough to do and should only take about 10-15 minutes to set up once Im at my PC. Third option is to do soemthing to the right of the title - similar to the ninja star on featured articles - which is a little off your original concept but means we don't clutter the spud icon. Option 4 is to add a stamp over the top of featured, like having multiple stamps on a passport. I'll mock up a few ideas and you can let me know what you think. Pup
Sounds great! Thanks. ~Jewriken.GIF 09:12, January 20, 2010 (UTC)
Okay, played with it and I think option 2 makes me the happiest. I've done a mock of what it woukd look like at User:PuppyOnTheRadio/Mock1 - I'm still without access to any image manipulation software so I've just stolen the existing Featured Image for this purpose, I'll do a Top 10 2009 in the same style tonight but angled opposite direction and create the template in my user space over the next 24 hours. If someone comes up with a better concept but just needs the coding, then I'm happy to run with it. (Stupid public access PCs!) Of course the trade off is that I want one of these as well. Pup
