Wah State is an autonomous area of Myanmar. It is ruled by the authoritarian Wah Party, a far-left political party that advocates for the addition of Waluigi to Smash Bros. In 2008, it became infamous for the abduction and execution of Masahiro Sakurai on counts of treason after Waluigi was found to not be in Super Smash Bros. Brawl on the Wii. The move was especially condemned by the Nintendo State, who threatened to drop a DMCA warhead on Wah State.
History[edit | edit source]
From the early 1400s to the late 1800s, the area was claimed by the Qing Dynasty but was never controlled by it, as the local chief of Wehrio (Waluigi's distant relative) united the Wah people against the Chinese. In 1899, the Empire of Japan offered to give Wehrio free Anime girl bodypillows in exchange for Wah State becoming a associated state of it, a move that Wehrio would later regret. Years later in 1920, the Chief Wehrio broke ties with Japan, as he felt the Japanese were not fufilling the original alliance's purpose to add the Wah people to Smash. During World War II, Wah State was a British occupation zone, later returned to local government as one of the Burmese princely states after World War II. In the 1960s, Wehrio died, empowering his mentally ill great-grandchild, Waluigi, who abolished the chiefdom and invited a fellow mentally ill cousin, Wario, to the position of Prime Wahister. The new Wah government was embargoed for being too "nationalistic" and "anti-Smash roster", embargos still in place to this day. In the 1980s, a war with Burma took place, which ended in a stalemate and a slight raise of autonomy. In 2021, after the Burmese coup, active border conflicts started occuring occasionally, most resulting in a victory for the Wah State.
