First off, sig your dam posts!!! Secondly, regarding the article... Before you do anything else, remove EVERYTHING about Chuck Norris, Mr. T, Russian Reversal and possibly Soviet Russia (though maybe not). Fix the red text. Why does the text swap to red? Does anyone else do that in their articles? It does not make it look good. Seriously dude. There are also large area of the article which just don't look finished. You have left "notes" to yourself in the article, which are visible to the reader, and the formatting really does not flow well. In places the article breaks down into unrelated sections, with random quotes thrown in, and templates in the middle of the article. Dude, to me it just looks like you need to put more effort into it. Anything 'random' which is not supported by something funny is not a good idea either. It's still too random... It's getting better, but there is still got a LONG way to go... Look at some of our featured articles to get an idea of the kind of thing they do, and keep working on it... I think you can do it. Yea, he can be a bit mad with his deletion of images that Max... Great admin though. Depending on how you link images (with a absoulte path or not), sometimes they do not show up in 'What links here' and so may appear as unused... I think there is a lable of some kind which you can put onto an image to indicate that it's not to be deleted. __NODELETE__ or something like that I think, though I'm not sure, as I have never used it. Yea, I know... I was just playing... Led and ZB have me running back and forward today with the poopsmithing today, so I'm a bit out of breath. It's a pain though that VFD template... I can never decide if it's best to tag the article before putting it onto VFD or afterwards. Do it first, and you run the risk of getting to VFD to find it full, then having to remove the tag again or do it afterwards and have some asshole complaine that you forgot to do it. Well hi! I'm not sure if I can express how grateful I am that you have offered! Thanks very much! Well... First of all, I should say that I'm actually a C/C++ programmer (or pretend to be at work) so this .js stuff is a bit foreign to me. It's not 'real' programming don't you know! Only joking (of course) I should really make an effort to learn what everything does, but really (as I'm sure you can tell) I'm just messing about pasting various bits in which I have stolen from various people. Mostly you it appears! What I'm really trying to do at the moment is get my pages to load a bit faster... I'm using Firefox 2.0.0.12. I find at work that my pages load fine, but at home they take an age... I ran "ethereal" over it, and found that the "import" script (and document.write) commands appeared to be going out and re-getting the page every time from the web every time I clicked on a new page. To fix this, I have been trying to paste all the code from the 'original' source into my .js I'm also in favour of doing this so that I can actually manage my own code, rather than relying on someone else (who may change theirs). This does appear to speed things up... Would you agree that I'm right about this 'speed' issue? Surely having all the code in one lump is better than re-fetching it every time (requiring a new web access). I'm also having a bit of trouble as it keeps replacing my ~~~~~ with a date stamp. I think that's just because I don't have the "nowiki" thing in the right place... I think I can fix this.... What do you use to "debug" your .js? Is there a popular tool around? I'm also conserned that I appear to need to save my .js page every time I want to test it. I don't think that's good for recent changes, for a number of reasons... It says at the top of my .js page that I can test it from the 'preview' button, but that just does not appear to work (when I press ctrl F5). Any tips, suggestions, links or advice would obviously be very welcome. I probably just need to get a good guide on .js and actually bother to learn the language properly, but the old 'C' hacker in me just will not let me! :-) I have a mind to try and write a 'button' for VFD to allow automatic voting without the user needing to edit the txt, but that's another story I guess. Heh, that's quite a ramble! But yeah, everything I learned about JS I learned from uncyc! So it can't be that hard!

As far as I know, your browser should cache all the JS scripts once, even the ones using importscript etc. Might be something to do with your computer forgetting it's already downloaded the JS, or the cache isn't set big enough... I dunno. Having it all in one page might convince it to cache it better. It should work fine, as long as you copy & paste all the scripts being imported exactly as they are in the original pages. Not sure what could be breaking it if you're copying it properly. Check in the error console in firefox and see what, if any, errors are being produced when it tries to run. In JS, 90% of the time it's a misplaced ' or a forgotten ;.

Yeah, you need to nowiki the whole thing to stop mediawiki changing it. You sometimes get a second nowiki tag somewhere inside the code though, which ends it too early. Best to check through it to make sure there's only one at the start and end. And you can preview JS by clicking preview, the only thing is that it won't work for any JS included by a document.write method, that's what the masses of tiny text you might get is if you try that. And it only works on that one preview page, so you can't test a qvfd or recentchanges script or anything.

As for debugging, I use mainly one "bookmarklet", a javascript shell (the top one from here) which is pretty invaluable to me when writing code! It basically lets you type JS straight onto the web page. It's very useful for testing out small bits of code to make sure they work, but can also be used to test the whole finished thing. You have to re-run your code in each time you refresh or navigate away from the page you're on, and importscript or document.write won't work (well, they do, but since the page has already loaded they overwrite all the html), but it gives you errors and line numbers as you run, so is a helluva lot easier than saving the JS, refreshing, going to the right page, checking error console, and re-editing! It's the secret to me adding fully-functional JS in a single edit while everyone else spams recent changes trying to get theirs to work :) Same going for the CSS tester bookmarklet on that page.

As for learning JS, it was pretty easy for me to learn one function at a time as I needed them, and the best resource is probably the w3schools tutorials. And google searches for "js whateveriwanttodo" are usually pretty helpful! I hear it's vaguely similar to C, so might not be too hard to learn, but I've never used that so couldn't really say.

Cool, I was about to mention that archive thing... Luvvy is a real luvvy as you can see Maff. I'm sure Maff can figure it all out. Just a word of caution on the templates thing guys, be careful when you create one. Really it needs to be something which a lot of people will want to use if you are going to put it in the main space. I noticed that Luvvy has hers in userspace, where as your Maff is in the mainspace. Now I think you will probably get away with your new one, but don't make a habit of creating too many templates. That has been a problem we have had with a number of users in the past. Funny, I'm sure I don't remember leaving that level 2 heading there... I could say similar things and more about you old chap. Things are ticking over more smoothly than I can remember at VFD since you started smithing. I remember waiting for ages to shovel my own finds on there and shift some stuff from the lounge, and now there's almost always space. Yeah, the 20 limit helps, but more credit is due to you for diligent drainage. I don't think it's a coincidence that it started sticking again while you were away. And you help out in many other ways too. Look around here at this n00b adoption stuff, for example. You'll notice that while I welcome, I'm not an adopter. In fact, I generally keep my head down, being happy just to get on with things, and have what seems to be a decent rep. I think the scores are pretty fair if you ask me. I do wonder what might have happened on certain votes if I were more visible in forums and on IRC, I guess, but on the other hand, I'm sneakily hoping for a bit of Uncyc history of my own - I'm set to equal the record of UotM noms with no win, so next month could see me set a brand new record. Hi Maff. here is where Luvvy asks that very same question. Basically there is a (kinda) good explanation of what to do here. It takes a bit of figuring out, but I'm sure you will get it... You create the page as instructed in the directions, and it should work. Like Luvvy did, it's probably best to steal someone else's sig to start off with, and customise it to your requirements. Let me know if you need any help with it. Oh, sometimes it's helpful to start a new section guys (usually when the topic changes) which it kinda did when Maff asked about sigs. MrN 19:42, Mar 6

Hmmm... Edit conflicts, for a change... You know how to do subpages yet? To make things "easier", go here and create your new signature on this pretty subpage I made for you. It is pretty common for people to filch other users' codes... My current sig is 1446 characters long in it's raw form. I recommend starting with something simpler, like your username and for example the Union Jack and adding to it as you learn more formatting. Then there was something about going to your preferences and put {{SUBST:nosubst|User:Maff/sig}} <small>{{subst:CURRENTTIME}}, {{subst:CURRENTDAY}} {{subst:CURRENTMONTHABBREV}}</small> as your "nickname" and tick the raw signature box. I moved it from my user domain after seeing the pee review.

BTW, I modeled the Uncyclopedia after this after the real disaster; the ATC center was improperly managed; there was a conflict between TCAS (the airliner's system that tells it when to avoid another airliner) and the ATC. The two airliners collided over southern Germany. The angry father of one family on the Tupolev stabbed the (innocent) ATC controller to death in Switzerland. Hea, I like it. This is your first article? Surprising if so, my first efforts were somewhat lacking! Generally, it's not bad. Not super funny, but basically what pretty good. I like your writing style, and generally the article flows very well...

Some tips:

• Add some more links to other articles. In places you are a bit short on them. Also, don't forget that you can use the links to add humour depending on what they actually link to.
• Add some categories.
• Add some relevant links to this article from other 'related' articles. You need these so that other people can find your article. Same goes for the categories...
• Like you said, it needs a picture or two more. For now, maybe go with a stupid looking kid? Maybe a picture of 'your mom'? You can always come back later if you think of something better...
• Oh, I was not sure if you knew how to use the px thing in you thumb pictures, so changed a few around to show ya how to do it.

I would also recommend that maybe you think about trimming it down a little bit. Possibly make a decision on which bits you think are not the best, and trim em back a bit. Quality is always more important than quantity, and I did feel that it dragged on just a little bit at times.

It was something about the sourcecode slowing things down for some users. if you put {{User:MrN9000/sig}} in your sig2 and link to it from your sig, it should somehow speed the loading time of pages. Most of the ones that have been run before (and not all are still active) were based on pywikipediabot. As such, C# as a 'bot platform is somewhat uncharted territory here. For the pywikipediabot, there is a config file at http://botwiki.sno.cc/wiki/python:uncyclopedia_family.py (ChixpyBot has one posted around here somewhere too) and list of known Uncyclobots at unmeta:robot but I think the only active 'bot on this wiki at the moment is Qscgu9-bot (Laurusnobilis). Now, now son. I would have thought you would have figured that one out by now! Hmm... What you do with this, as well as with practically anything else editing wise on Uncyc, is you look at what someone else has done, and copy that. From what they have done, you can usually just change a few things, and get it how you want it. For example. See that picture of the trousers? Just take a look at the edit page for this page, and you can see the format I have used. Try it out using the preview button, and you will soon get the hang of it... MrN 19:03, Mar 11

You don't know how to click the edit button and look at a page? Come now, I'm sure you know how to do that... Had you done so, you would have seen that I used '[[Image:Trousers (NOT PANTS).jpg|thumb|right|60px|See Trousers]] ' to display the picture. Where it says 'Image:Trousers (NOT PANTS).jpg' you put the name of the picture you want. Where it says 'right' you could have also put 'left'. The '60px' bit decides the size. Try some different sizes and see what it does. The bit after that where it says 'See Trousers' is where you put the text you want to display in the box at the bottom... One of my ICU-expried article was deleted too early.

Few weeks ago, you added an ICU label onto one of my article Princess K-Train and the ICU period would be expired on 5 March, 2008. However, when I wanted to do improvement on the article at about 19:00 on 4 March, 2008 (UTC+8) , the article has been already deleted by User:Codeine. That's too early to do so!

I tried to ask User:Codeine to get back the source code but there is no any reply backed. Do I have any chance to get back the source code of the article? Thank you!

Try taking it out, and see what happens. ;-) You can use <br clear="all"> or <br clear="left"> or <br clear="right">... It forces text to start underneath a picture. I did it to yours because on of your headers was on it's own to the right of a picture (did not look nice). With the command put in, it forced the header to start underneath, an looks a bit better on the eye. Hell no! Whatever gave you that idea? Naa, Mordillo gave me and UU the Lt thing as a token of his appreciation of our efforts helping out around up the place. I am a {{UN:POOP|Poopsmith]] now which means I can help keep the VFD page tidy, and archive QVFD and Ban Patrol, but that's about it. Last month, I have mostly been on a stub hunt. I have been tracking down a lot of the bad stubs which have been clogging up the drains around here, and I think Mordillo's gesture was largely as a result of this. I have been making a LOT on nominations on VFD, and kinda try to keep an eye on the page... UU has been pestering me about writing new articles rather than just doing admin type stuff, so I'm going to turn my attention to that a bit more now. It's great your back! About page blanking

Sorry about it, I just changed Tinky Winky for Stinky Winky, so I have to change each "Tinky Winky" words for "Stinky Winky", and also make a new article named Stinky Winki. It's funnier like this because, you know, Teletubbies suck ! If you agree about it, we should delete the article of Tinki Winky and put Stinky Winky instead.

Well, I'm not an admin, so can't delete. I think you might find that simply creating a copy of an article, and renaming a few words is not popular however. I wish you luck with your humour however, but I'm just not sure how many others will appreciate it... MrN 22:25, Apr 2

I don't think it's really that big of a deal to rename or "move" the page if that's what you want to do. Just wait a few days, 3 or 4 after your registration to Uncyc, and you will then be able to move it. The move process automatically creates a redirect from the old page to the new one, so that should not really be a problem... MrN 00:05, Apr 3
