Since everyone else is pulling out crap from the corners of their brains, I figured I might resurrect an awesome idea I had back in the days when we were men. Sysop for a Day. The premise: Once in a quarter we op one our lowly peasants, from a range of helpful to the useless gobshitey, for one day. He/she/it/heshe/shit can have near unlimited power to do whatever he/she/it/heshe/shit wants, from helping around to throwing down an iron fist, or simply fucking shit up. If he/she/it/heshe/shit is helpful, we can debate whether to op them permanently in the future. If he/she/it/heshe/shit is an asshat, we can debate whether to ban them or op them again for our further amusement. It's win-win for us! Unless, of course, it destroys to very fabric of our Uncycloverse, in which case, at least we can say we went out in style.

I like the idea, but I'd like to amend your statement

• The person is to act like a regular sysop. (i.e no dickery and abuse of powers)

I think this a great idea for a number of reasons:

1. When a real VFS roles around, the user can make a call. Is becoming an admin the thing I want to do? For a number of users would prefer not to.
2. It gives an indication to the community that this user is a capable admin, again when a real VFS comes around.

This should be entertaining. I like that idea, but let's reform VFS so that anyone can put their name in and see if they get voted. Not voted? Admins can clean it off. Hmmm...If I was sysop for a day...

Here's what I would do:

1. Ban Fnoodle for a day.
2. Nominate then feature Vandalism/example_ON_WHEELS!!!
3. Start a forum about how admins are better than users and contradict my own arguments.
4. Delete exactly one bad article.
5. Make an Invader Zim reference every time I ban someone.
6. Drink (but I would probably do that anyway)

Okay...sorry Frosty. MrTheJazz wins. No matter what Lollipop has to be one, and since someone arbitrarily said we will make two users Sysops...it will have to be Jazz and Lollipop. And...logically I should have two votes, cause, Im Shabidoo, and that makes sense, and since no one else in this round has any votes, I guess, I will apply one of my votes to MrTheJazz and I will apply the other of my Shabidoo votes to Lollipop. If I was admin, this is what i'd do:

1. Ban Lyrithya infinite and take away her admin rights.
2. Feel guilty and unban Lyrithya.
3. Eat cake.
4. Whenever a cyberbullying page comes up, it gets featured.
5. The prize for getting a feature is a one week ban.
6. Any trash talk to admins, equals an infinite ban.
7. Eat more cake.
8. Huff HTBFNJS, I mean who the hell reads it anyway?
9. Every time I ban, I use the same reason: "I'm better than you".
10. Forums can get featured.
11. Eat some more cake.

Sounds cool in theory, but here's an issue: how in the heck are we going to pick someone to be opped? We can't op truly randomly (that is, let a bot or script do it) because we could easily op someone with malicious intent or confuse somebody who doesn't know what's going on. We'd have to either come up with specific criteria (say, an account X days old with at least Y edits) or hold yet another vote, and most of our votes these days barely pass muster (with a few exceptions). Finding a way to make this work...

If people are serious about getting this idea to work, isn't drawing up criteria for our candidate(s) be a good start?

Feel free to add stuff to this list, but users should fit this criteria:

• Be a user with at least 3 months of experience on the site.
• Have made a minimum of 2,000 edits on the site.
• Have been "active" for the last 1 month, preferably.
• Not have been banned recently for any serious offences (Cyberbullying, blanking, vandalism, etc).
