Hi Splaka

Hilf mir bitte, weil ich hier neu bin. Bébizokni ist auf Ungarisch/Hungarian/Magyar. Aber dieses Sablon finde ich nicht... --Dr. Steller 11:27, 13 Nov 2005 (UTC)

Sorry, I don't comprehend. The {{Qua?}} template was simply to notify you that Bébizokni was in the wrong language area. Could you move it to Hu:Bébizokni (if it is Hungarian) please? I notice we also don't have any main Hungarian page at Hu:, start one if you like ^_^. --Splaka 11:43, 13 Nov 2005 (UTC)
Actually, having realized that was German and not Hungarian: Um äußere Bilder zu verwenden sollten Sie sie hochladen hier verwendend Special:Upload. Ungarische Sprachenseiten sollten mit vorgesetzt werden: "Hu:" (eg Hu:Bébizokni). Es gibt ein volles deutsches Uncyclopedia an uncyclopedia.de. Dawg to Splaka

Hey, life gave me a lemon and I wanted a lime. If anyone wonders where I am (I figure you might), I'll be mostly offline until futher notice (not sure how long, need to order some new hardware for a certain recently-deceased machine that was freaking out earlier).

Apparently I was right about the database...

Well, drop me a message here or on my talk page. I'll try to drop by from time to time. Dawg.gif » Brig Sir Dawg | t | v | c » 11:44, 13 Nov 2005 (UTC)

Bummer! Damn computers. Will do. Stay sane. Make lemonade. --Splaka 11:49, 13 Nov 2005 (UTC) PS: <chron> jason, you know our thing is doubly serialzed right? <JasonR> Yes.
I figured it was only a matter of time before the SysOp curse happened to you, too. It seems that most people drop out soon after being SysOped. I hope you come back, Dawg. --Paulgb 00:07, 14 Nov 2005 (UTC)
Must be some kind of record. The ink's not dry on his congratulatory page yet.  :) Come back soon, Dawg. -- T. (talk) 00:21, 14 Nov 2005 (UTC)
Actually, Splarka noted on IRC that User:ERTW has the record, of never returning after being sysopped. --Paulgb 01:29, 14 Nov 2005 (UTC)
Yes, ERTW does hold the record. Sadly, the dead hardware is both expensive and hard to come by, even on the internet. I'm now a modern digital gypsy, almost like when I was a student and I carried floppies with me before the original zip drives became ubiquitous and when CD-Rs still cost a fortune. Now I live on a 1GB USB flash drive; the kids now-a-days have it so easy. Dawg.gif » Brig Sir Dawg | t | v | c » 10:40, 15 Nov 2005 (UTC)

Why blocked

Can you please tell me why I am blocked? Something about American/English, or Poop_Cuisine, of which I know nothing about. My user name is Chocology

It is because you share an AOL proxy IP with a vandal. Your username doesn't appear to be blocked, just be wary of aol (it sucks, every edit can have a different IP, sometimes we have to ban the whole thing). ^_^ --Splaka 23:11, 13 Nov 2005 (UTC)

Hey, I'm Sorry

I found Zach on CNN and a friend of mine had sent me the pictures (I'm the other guy on the Bad Boy'd? case) and I thought it would be funny. I was editing, loading, editing, loading, to make sure it looked okay, and you deleted it the first time while I was editing, so the reload was a mistake. I sincerely apologize and will not attempt to repost it. I just thought it was kind of funny.

--192.195.225.6

Fair enough. What annoyed us most was the use of bugmenot to recreate it and upload pics. There is no need to use bugmenot. Logins do not require email addresses or any personal information. I actually like and use bugmenot, but it is not needed for wiki sites. It can also be easily disabled by logging in and changing the password. If you create a login you can put the article back up (although mention it is obscure and not a friend of yours). Sorry for jumping the gun ^_^. --Splaka 07:52, 14 Nov 2005 (UTC)

IRC spoofing

Just a heads-up. Our old friend (I won't be Specific about his name, I'll just keep it General) has learned how to use /nick on the IRC channel. He's already practiced spoofing you, and I'm sure he'll play with mine next. I think it will be painfully obvious when it's really one of us, and when it's him. FWIW, I didn't hang around the channel to watch -- he's getting kind of boring. -- Sir BobBobBob ! S ? [rox!|sux!] Prince%21.gif 21:38, 14 Nov 2005 (UTC)

Postman Pat

Hello, Splaka. I have no idea what are your plans with this article you have nothing to do (yet?) with except the MTU tagging. You've recently deleted in a hurry the stuff I write all this morning (funny or not that text). I've noticed you have been during the last week the one who ask writers to move/expand/delete just-made article stubs in next 7 days which in many cases take the fun off in stories and so far in writing, such a hurry. I think it needs lots of time and second thoughts to find the right mixes between the articles and not too much one person's quick decisions what to do with all this crap written. VERY BAD articles is a different thing, of course. Don't we all do this site together, mixing different ideas from different writers coming from all around the world? I'm not a native English speaker myself and I wellcome everyone (you included) to make this crappy article a lot larger and better. - 81.197.63.160 (IP at the moment) 15 Nov 2005

I MTU tag artcles as they are created, if they look short but worth expanding. Note that they are usually in no danger for 7 days or so. If you expand the article you can remove the tag. The tag is just our way of finding the artcles later if they never get expanded (you would not believe how many people come in, create a two sentence article, and disappear thereafter). If I deleted some stuff of yours it was either TOO short (or plain bad) for even MTU, or was about non-notable people. Can you give me names of articles of yours you feel were deleted unfairly? --Splaka 12:11, 15 Nov 2005 (UTC) P.S. As you were the original author of Postman Pat I'll undo my revert, it looked at first glance like vandalism ^_^.
OK, you are forgiven for this matter. ;-) But I must say that MTU tag can be quite frightening for us foreigners (at least) who write here at the first time and not be too sure of what the main rules are here. Stub tag is easier one to understand, a well-known thing from Semprini. There should be probably a simplier text written in the MTU tag to explain what it really means? --original writer 81.197.63.160 (IP at the moment) 15 Nov 2005
Hey, don't blame Splaka too quickly. I may be the culprit. I just got finished annihilating several articles that Splaka marked MTU, because in *my* opinion they were a waste of electrons. Sorry, Splaka... -- Sir BobBobBob ! S ? [rox!|sux!] Prince%21.gif 14:58, 15 Nov 2005 (UTC)
I'm sorry as well if I said things too harshly and like attacked Splaka personally. It's the practice I'm really talking about. I just think Uncyclopedia may lose good fresh writers here if you administrators react at once on every new stub by threatening them to be moved/deleted instead of marking them just to be a stub. I myself prefer a hilarious stub to a long story with loose humour (if these are the choices). But of course, it is easier to talk about the problems than being the one who put things into practice. You administrators also do loads of great job here, I can't deny that at all! --81.197.63.160 (IP still at the moment? or not) 15 Nov 2005

Can I, can I?

Hi, Splaka. Ghostface said you're the man to talk to. So I am.

I'm a new user - Tryggvasson, however, before becoming one (starting to wear suits, ties and all and get some recognition (or not)) I have managed to chip in a couple of articles and a few contributions to others, as a mercenary (ip - 82.76.101.94), before I joined the regiment. (I've created Nightwish and Don't talk with your mouth full; I've completely rewritten Mintrubbing and Muie (yeah, you've guessed, I'm Romanian :p) - they were very small and really no fun; I've added a chapter to Mother Fucker (how do I choose my topics, I wonder?), plus three others to Gerbonia (language (except three quoutes), women and national sports) and a bit of minor contributions to various other articles.

I'd like to ask you if there's a way you can connect the IP to one user name or attribute all the "writings" of that ip (which is really mine, by the way) to my user name, so that I won't feel deprived of the past in my new capacity.

That's it. Thanks a lot (in advance). Take care! --Tryggvasson 22:59, 19 Nov 2005 (UTC)

Unfortunately that is rather complex and requires hacking the database. See Wikipedia:Wikipedia:Changing_attribution_for_an_edit#General_Notes for the policy on wikipedia. AFAIK it has never been done on uncyclopedia. Best thing to do is make a list of IPs you've used and say "I edited under these IPs". (The wikicities developer is also currently very busy trying to upgrade us to the next version of MediaWiki.) --Splaka 23:10, 19 Nov 2005 (UTC)

Jesus

Now listen. Why won't you let me say on the Jesus talk page that the page is unfunny63.19.207.215 22:19, 21 Nov 2005 (UTC)

The talk page is a redirect, you shouldn't destroy a redirect to make a comment (instead, comment on the page it directs too). The page itself is a disambiguation page and doesn't need to be funny. --Splaka 22:26, 21 Nov 2005 (UTC)
Parts of the article such as "Jeez-its" were obviously trying (and failing) to be funny. 63.19.207.215 22:29, 21 Nov 2005 (UTC)
If you dislike the Jeez-its article (it isn't just a link) go to that page and complain. Also don't put {{vandalize}} on Jesus, thanks. `--Splaka

  • Splaka, thanks for the kind words regarding my computer issues. Although it's really no trouble if I get blocked as I usally just log on again. Admittedly it's a hassle (and certainly after more then a year of editing Wikipedia I'm used to it ;-] ), but it's certainly justified given the massive amounts of vandalism that comes from AOL alone. Anyway I certainly apprecite the fact someone notices my contributions. :) MadMax 03:35, 22 Nov 2005 (UTC)

User:SamuraiClinton

I saw that you banned the aforementioned suspect for a bit. I was wondering if you'd agree that his contributions are somewhat suspect as well: Wheely Willy is a redirect to Willy on Wheels, which looks to me like QVFD vanity. I think we can safely rollback his addition to Wikipedia, and the contribution to Jimbo Wales Jr. makes that page look even more huffable.

Update: The only link to Wheely Willy is Page move vandalism created by 69.209.170.251. Also from this fine auteur, Penguin shit island and edits to Penguin and (gasp!) Wheely Willy. I took the liberty of banninating this IP for a week as well with the excuse reason "Appears to be User:SamuraiClinton making anon edits. Stop it." I haven't deleted any of the pages, in case you need them for your doctoral thesis research, so please feel free to huff 'em at your leisure. -- Sir BobBobBob ! S ? Oiy, What did you do that for? now when you press the button in the Des Moines article (the only one it's on) it goes to the image page for it rather than the article about the button!!--MysteryShopper 11:04, 24 Nov 2005 (UTC)

Image redirects don't work so hot, and well, are screwy. Use this code: <span class="plainlinks">[http://en.uncyclopedia.co/wiki/Target_Article http://uncyclopedia.org/directlinktouploadedimage/PushOnce.jpg]</span> (the links have to be external for this to work). --Splaka 11:09, 24 Nov 2005 (UTC)
But I like image redirect's their like "old skool" (old == 2/3 months) + you get the image in the resultant article!--MysteryShopper 11:13, 24 Nov 2005 (UTC)
Maybe, but it isn't your image, and making an image description page into a redirect is just a bad habit (for those wanting information on the image source and licensing). --Splaka 11:21, 24 Nov 2005 (UTC)
http://en.uncyclopedia.co/w/index.php?title=Image:PushOnce.jpg&redirect=no ............--MysteryShopper 11:26, 24 Nov 2005 (UTC)
You miss the point. You have to remove all the information to make it a redirect, which = bad. --Splaka 11:29, 24 Nov 2005 (UTC)
Everything that was in the article is in the edit summary!--MysteryShopper 11:36, 24 Nov 2005 (UTC)
Everything that was in the original upload summary maybe (and unparsed), however as there is no preview this is not always the final version of the description page. I'd argue that a simple link to the destination page on an image description page is hardly more inconvenient than a redirect, but why? Image description pages serve a purpose that is inconvenienced by redirects (which serve little purpose), so no. Also, why are you still arguing? You already used my code, I see. --Splaka 11:42, 24 Nov 2005 (UTC)
For the principal! (also I'm 90% certain it I had replaced the redirect you would have blocked me) --MysteryShopper 11:49, 24 Nov 2005 (UTC)
Blocked? Possibly. Lot easier than using a talk page ^_^. But until wikia disables external images, my alt method is fine (except the image appears unused, use Template:Notorphan so it doesn't get huffed). --Splaka 11:52, 24 Nov 2005 (UTC)
I now would have been a pain to get myself unblocked :-)--MysteryShopper 11:54, 24 Nov 2005 (UTC)
You are almost being a pain to get yourself blocked. ^_^ If you wanna continue this come to IRC (before I sleep). --Splaka 11:57, 24 Nov 2005 (UTC)
Who says I aint already? --MysteryShopper 11:59, 24 Nov 2005 (UTC)
FWIW, I actually wanted to have the image redirect to that article (or maybe a future article to be named later), but being a total n00b, I couldn't figure out how to do it properly. So TYVM to both of you! --Schnuggle Bear! 23:06, 27 Nov 2005 (UTC)

Bill Fitchburg

It is an attempt to mainstream an inside joke. If there is anything I can do to make it funny on more of a mass basis, tell me. I don't want my page deleted if I can save it. --Kosmakos 22:46, 24 Nov 2005 (UTC)

The problem with inside jokes is, nobody else will get it. Allowed 'inside joke' vanity falls under the 'community' guideline, be it about a school, town, online forum/chatroom, or other group. Writing about a non-notable friend/classmate/sibling though just has no redeeming quality as it won't reach a wide audience (exceptiosn are made for user pages (which don't show on article namespace) and subsections of above mentioned allowed vanity). Uncyclopedia strives to be a satire of Wikipedia, but we can't do that without following some basic patterns of them (we allow school/university 'vanity' because of their policy of allowing a wiki article about every school). So the short answer is, if it is about a real but non-notable person (or reads like it is, even if you made the person up), it will be deleted by someone here. --Splaka 22:53, 24 Nov 2005 (UTC)

It's supposed to be an example of a generalization on the prototypical chavs/wiggers. If I can get that point across, is it saveable?I worked a good amount of time on it and so would like to find a way to save it. --Kosmakos 23:12, 24 Nov 2005 (UTC)

I asked a brit:
<Codeine> Well, it *could* be funny
<Codeine> but it needs work
<Codeine> If he's prepared to put the hours in, I say give it a stay of execution
<Codeine> but I'd ask him if it's a made-up name
<Codeine> if not, he can change it to one
So, if you can make it more obviously a generalization and not about an NNP (photoshop the image, more made-up-ified name) then it could work. --Splaka 23:24, 24 Nov 2005 (UTC)

UK Highway Code

We liked this, some of us, but somoene blanked it and it got deleted. Is resurrection an option? Also Hazard Lights was, IIRC, related. - Guy

Both were blanked by the original author (which is usually an indication that they wanted it deleted, we discourage blanking but for something that is MTU tagged and then subsequently blanked by the same person, we assume they just agree it should be gone). The last versions before blanking were:

UK Highway Code
This is but one of three different translations I have found of the Highway Code; it was originally written in Latin, probably by the Archbishop, Jeremiah Clarkesonn. It was in force for only a few months, when it was violated by the Minister of Transport. Just over a year later, with no conviction, the minister died, being succeeded by his 9-year old son, John of Prescotte. The Code (Codex) was reissued again, with some revisions, in 1216, 1217 and 1225.

This Uncyclopedia text is the first revision since that date.

The Major Clauses in the Codex

Hazard Lights
An innovative safety feature fitted to most modern cars, hazard lights provide a simple and effective means of parking a vehicle almost anywhere, a huge addition to the convenience of the motorcar. Before this invention, some motorists have reported having to park up to 500 yards from the corner shop, totally unacceptable when you consider the whole journey was only 1200 yards!

OperationThere is this switch located inside the car, which is usually in an easy-to-reach-place from the driver's side but is simultaneously hidden in such a way as to take several minutes and a glance at the Owner's Manual to discover. The switch usually has a serious looking triangle on it, allegedly making it easier to find.

When this switch is pressed or pulled, all the direction indicators blink. This is in itself fascinating, but not the limit of what this button can accomplish.

It appears that when one's hazard lights are on, one is able to do anything without fear of reprisal. The original purpose of hazard lights was to warn other drivers that the car was stationary because it had broken down and wouldn't go any further.

However, over the years the hazard light's purposes have been extended. Nowadays, leaving one's hazard lights on means you can park anywhere - there does not have be anything particularly wrong with the car in question. Leaving hazard lights on while parked on a double yellow line or in front of a fire hydrant means that the driver has just nipped into a nearby shop. Or if you see a driver who has pulled over to the side of a busy road and has stuck on their hazard lights they may be lighting a cigarette while holding a hot coffee in the other hand, or perusing a street map.

It is rare to see a hazard-lit car exceeding the speed limit. Often they crawl along at a snail's pace when everyone behind it wants to go at 70 miles an hour.

UK Highway Code excerpt :-

96: Hazard warning lights.

These may be used when your vehicle is stationary, to warn that it is temporarily obstructing traffic. You may also use them as an excuse for dangerous or illegal parking. You COULD ALSO use hazard warning lights whilst driving on a motorway or unrestricted dual carriageway and you need to warn drivers behind you that you are using a mobile phone.

Hazard lights were invented in 1979 by Luke Duke (of Dukes of Hazzard fame)

You can recreate them, if you feel they won't get deleted too quickly, but use proper capitalization this time, eg Hazard lights (although UK Highway Code seems to be a proper noun in that context). --Splaka 10:44, 26 Nov 2005 (UTC)

You're probably the only person here that was helpful and influential to me during this first month that I haven't taken the time to write a decent letter to. I don't know why that is, but it may be because I see you in channel so often anyway.  :)

Much the way that you singled out Elvis as a good role model to learn from, I've been trying to learn from you. While my education here has been more observation than interaction (like you and E), it's still been very helpful. Everything that I've read about how you've changed this site for the better has been useful, and I've tried to do good work here though I don't have your range of skills.

I enjoy our sane/ridiculous conversations in the channel, and have appreciated you showing me the ropes in finding vandalism in the diff logs, asking my opinion on pages, editing my monobook, nominating me for awards, not being the least bit bothered that I shamelessly steal code from your userpage, and the other bucketload of stuff that has made getting up to speed here easier.

Anyway, lemme know where to mail the tuition money. It was well spent, I think.  :) -- T. (talk) 21:56, 26 Nov 2005 (UTC)

I'd like to submit a request for changing the title of the article "British Colombia" to "Coca-Colombia". Please instruct me in the pertinent procedure or don't.

Well, it usually isn't funny to have pages at incorrect locations. You can refer to it as such on the page, or you can create a new page about BC called CC (as long as it is big enough to warrant non-movement). Hmm. Consult Ogopogo about it, he's been cleaning up the Canadian articles. --Splaka 07:08, 3 Dec 2005 (UTC)

How do I revert an article to an older version?

I just spent a couple of hours rewriting Armenia to get it funny and off the vote for deletion list and the original author (69.242.105.27) came back and put the previous (very lame and unfunny) History section back into that article (while deleting my new section). The original history was the whole article before and the main reason it was on VFD in the first place. I've never reverted an article before, do I just type it back in, or what? Thanks man Wiki Tiki God 04:48, 5 Dec 2005 (UTC)

Click [history], click the date of the good version, click [edit] (you'll get a warning about it being an out of date version). Put in a summary like: 'reverting'. Click [save]. --Splaka 04:51, 5 Dec 2005 (UTC)

A red link is sometimes preferrable to a bad blue link. Don't try to blue all the red links with short articles of little content. 3 lines is not even a stub. Quality over Quantity. And such. --Splaka 22:28, 5 Dec 2005 (UTC)

E_e_cummings

Um, before you huff this article, you might want to see some of his actualpoetry, whereupon you will realize it is brilliant satire and sing this article's praises. Seriously. --Hobelhouse 14:57, 6 Dec 2005 (UTC)

  • FWIW, I agree with Hobelhouse. He's a real person, and the article is written in his style. It needs work, but even as wide as I swing my sword, I'd spare this waif. -- Sir BobBobBob ! S ? [rox!|sux!] Prince%21.gif 15:14, 6 Dec 2005 (UTC)

(1) The correct page title (yes, we mostly want that here, Manitoba over Manisnowba) is E. E. Cummings , (location typoes are not teh funny, even if it is in their style. You don't see us moving pages to stupid titles all the time (well, you might, but then we move them back and ban the person that did it)), making the capitalization and punctuation of this one totally wrong. (2) even if it is funny, there is still no content (4 templates and 1 picture, vs 33 words to the article), making it definitely an NRV. --Splaka 21:46, 6 Dec 2005 (UTC)

  • I figured the alternative spelling would be appropriate, given that most folks think that's the way he preferred it (in fact, I didn't know otherwise until the so-called experts told me). Even they have a redirect at the lowercase spelling. Also, don't blame Hobelhouse for the templates... those are my doing. Perhaps the article would be funnier if someone could confuse e e cummings with t s eliot, and have ee as the creator of Cats. In any case, there are plenty of articles with less redeeming value than this one. Or maybe I just have low standards today. -- Sir BobBobBob ! S ? [rox!|sux!] Prince%21.gif 22:02, 6 Dec 2005 (UTC)
They have a redirect from the lowercase, but it goes to the above-mentioned capitalization. Most people use the correct linkage when linking to it too. Unless it is exceptional (eg No Orleans) then the wrong title is just not really funny. --Splaka 22:08, 6 Dec 2005 (UTC)

End of the Road

I basically added that article to lend some completely pointless credibility to my much longer Orkut article. End of the Road, Kentuckistan also happens to be a place in the short story "Blackberry Winter" by Todd Keisling, but I didn't expect anyone to get THAT ;P Basically I just wanted a really silly redneck place to link to in the Orkut article. Is that too silly and pointless? -- Bringa 03:06, 11 Dec 2005 (UTC)

Short worthless articles are pointless yes. "If it took you 10 seconds to write, it probably isn't funny." That wasn't even undictonary worthy. A red link is preferrable to such in most cases. A wiki full of stubs is not funny :/ Why not just put the info on the longer page until it is long enough to be its own article? --Splaka 03:08, 11 Dec 2005 (UTC)
Alright, then it'll be deleted. I thought it was funny in an absurd way, and since no one's going to fill in the details of a fictional town for me, I may as well remove the linkage from the longer article altogether. --Bringa 03:19, 11 Dec 2005 (UTC)
What, no attitude? No violent threats? We need more users like you, mate. --—rc (t) 03:34, 11 Dec 2005 (UTC)
Actually, you would be wrong in that regard - plenty of us will fill in the details of a fictional town. It's not like we have to get the details right now, is it? And besides, getting something horribly wrong and smashing someone else's dreams is something we do well here. But yeah, what Slpaka said - cram it all into one big article. If it grows so large that parts need to be spun off, they can be. Plan for one big article, as it's more likely to get done well than many disparate short ones. Yah, been keeping an eye on it. I thought at first it was vandalism, but it seems someone is just trying to make the code work, I'll give it a while. Btw, you don't have to tell me each time something is recreated, putting it on the QVFD is usually enough (we do have 40+ admin) ^_^. But thanks for the vigil, it is appreciated. --Splaka 06:29, 11 Dec 2005 (UTC)
  • Sorry about that. I only let you know as I noticed it was deleted by you a minute before. I did put it on qvfd although it was removed by one of the users who created the family tree image. I wasn't sure what the status was on it, so I thought I'd mentio it in any case, before reposting the burn tag. Also if an editor removes an nrv tag before the seven day limit, should it be replaced even it there has been changes ? MadMax 06:46, 11 Dec 2005 (UTC)
Ahh k. The page is surely crap now, I'll have to huff it. And nrv/mtu tags should be readded if the page is not changed (except for tag removal). If the page is expanded in any way, it can be re-tagged with nrv, but shouldn't usually be reverted. If that makes sense. --Splaka 06:55, 11 Dec 2005 (UTC)

Was Pie rats are small peg-legged rodents known to have taken over the SS Sara Lee factory ship. too subtle a joke for Uncyclopedia? Probably ought to go ahead and delete Category:Pre-stub too, since it can never have pages with real titles and it won't be very funny without something illustrating it. Sorry I have such low-brow humor. I'll try better next time. It did have content however—the category tag. Qwerty Uiop 06:27, 13 Dec 2005 (UTC)

Hey Splarks, I'm wondering if I could get a little advice/help with a problem on Optimus Prime. I'm in a bit of a revert war (thrice reverted so far) with JumpinTuck who has done relatively little other than keep putting his crappy image up. Centering the table on User:Nonymous/eurotest

Know of any way to center the table and use Image:Therest.gif as the background? - Nonymous 23:17, 29 Dec 2005 (UTC)

Looks like the auto-margins were your problem on the centering. You can't do background images in wiki tables, the code is ignored. --Splaka 23:22, 29 Dec 2005 (UTC)

Polish Delete

It looks like you were around during at least part of the history of Category:Pl:Delete. Can it go away now? I got rid of Template:delete, which referenced it. Not being well-versed in Polish customs (but old enough to remember Pollack jokes), I'd like a second opinion. -- Sir BobBobBob ! S ? [rox!|sux!] Prince%21.gif 21:33, 30 Dec 2005 (UTC)

Better ask Codeine about it, he was the polish huffinator. --Splaka 21:35, 30 Dec 2005 (UTC)

adslgr.com

I've seen a notice made by you on my article adslgr.com that it will be deleted in 5 days and i decide to contact you in order to find out why this is so

I read about the typical characteristics of articles that are deleted from uncyclopedia and apart from the obvius non candidates i excluded i found only some possible reasons and would like to list em

Advertising: [www.adslgr.com] is a greek site writen in greek and frequent by Greeks, uncyclopedia on the other hand is an english site frequent mostly by non-Greeks (aka Barbarians) therefore advertising adslgr, which is not even my site and by the way has in deed over 15000 members, would be futile. In the contrary i found out about Uncyclopedia in adslgr.com

Unrelevance: the article first of all deals with a site that is Greece's bigest forum about broadband connections in Greece and the internet in general , besides that it is a subtle critisism of the way the major ISP's in Greece deal with broadband connections, Greece at the moment is the home of over 12 million citizen (i know this is small but we re working on it, round the clock, u can come do your bit next summer). Also on this point i would like to say that i have seen many articles whose subject i failed to recognise , still i found em funny.

Unfunnyness: This is the only reason i would accept if u said so to me to be true, since Humour is a matter of relevance.

Please consider this and give me a reply

ps: If u go ahead and delete my article i will kill that cat [[3]]

ps 2: heres my only other article The great 1927 riot of Poughkeepsy

There are other reasons to delete articles, other than 'not being allowed' or 'not funny'. Sometimes they are just bad. Note that the NRV tag is actually 'giving the article a chance'. First and foremost, do not sign your articles. You sign talk pages and vote pages, but not articles. Second, it has no formatting and no links. It just looks like a bad copy/paste (eg, it is plain text, not an article). Thirdly, it has the potention to incite vanity (which happens anytime you write about a forum site, we get that a lot actually). Fourthly, 15,000 is just barely notable. Note for example that the english Wikipedia has no article with this title. Given all these reasons, I feel justified in NRV tagging it (you have more like 11 days by my calculations).
Things that can be done: For the first two, it just needs to be expanded/cleaned up. For the third, just make sure that if it does start mentioning individual members and in-jokes, that the page gets tagged with {{vanity}} (showing that it is allowable vanity). For the fourth, I don't think anything can be done to make it more notable in just 7 days. The best route to go might be {{vanity}}. See ZFGC for an example of allowable community forum vanity. --Splaka 23:10, 4 Jan 2006 (UTC)

wikipedia actually has a link to adslgr.com under the DSL around the world article the link is titled "all you need to know about adsl in greece"

But, we don't care about what wikipedia has. The article itself is still bad, and unless someone makes it better, I'm deleting it at the end of today.--Shrooms.jpgShroom!.gifGay2.gifSir Flammable KUN Prince!.gif (Na Naaaaa...)Gay2.gifShroom!.gifShroomirror.jpg 17:43, 5 Jan 2006 (UTC)
