Hey look! Another problem on uncyclopedia! What do you think its about this time?

tl;dt. VFD. The once great quality control method now diminished to the views of about 4 people. Not much stuff coming in = problem. Solution ideas. A VFD week of some sort? NOT V Week. Just something to encourage people to vote more. Maybe put a link in the comunity pages like we have for VFH and VFP. Any ideas? Lieutenant THEDUDEMAN Dude ... A link in the community box for VFD sounds great. Necropaxx (T) {~} 16:07, Oct 3
Bad idea - I don't like noobs on VFD, they'll vote to keep crap and delte resoably good stuff - theres a lto more than four, I don't think VFD is doing too badly — Sir Sycamore (talk) 16:09, 3 October 2008 (UTC)
The idea wasn't exactly an idea for noobs, but to encourage normal users to chip in at VFD. Not exactly a main page anounced thing, or a sitenotice thing, just an internal project. Lieutenant THEDUDEMAN Dude ... Totally UOTM KUN GotA F@H 17:03, 3 October 2008 (UTC)
We have discussed the idea of putting VFD on the link in the community box before, but it was not popular. Rather like VFD... It's kinda always been the views of a few, but often random people pop in when necessary. UU is back now also... I have tried to get more people voting on VFD believe me, but personally I do think VFH is more important, and that's struggling right now, so it's probably best not to take the focus away from that... Oh, did I forget to whore this? MrN MrN9000SouthParksmall.jpg 18:13, Oct 3
Has it occurred to you that that is the natural outcome of VFD and ICU/QVFD? The number of bad old articles will eventually get very low, on account of being deleted, and less and less bad new articles will slip in. So it could just be a sign that the system is working? What he said. ^^^ I think it's a sign that the good/crap ratio is getting better, and real shit is harder to find now. - P.M., WotM, & GUN, Sir Led Balloon Baloon.gif(Tick Tock) (Contribs) 21:50, Oct 3
Bull. QVFD isn't being used as much because pussies are putting ICU's on articles more often than they use to. Hell, I've seen many blatant vanity/cyberbullying articles get tagged with it. Why is this happening? You tell me.
Now, take a second and press Special:Random seven times. Read each article. How many of those are complete crap or have one of those rewrite/idea/whatever unneeded bullshit tag on them? 6/7. Plus, VFDers are becoming too soft. We have to be the iron fist of Uncyclopedia, not the extremely brittle lithium fist. Yes. That was the best metaphor I could come up with on such short notice. So?!? --MegaPleb Dexter111344 Complain here 22:17, 3 October 2008 (UTC)
Oh, and the inactivity on the site can attributed to the fact most people who get on this site have had to go back to school/college in the recent months. We are trying to put back Uncyclo back into our schedule. By the end of the month, I swear things will pick up. --MegaPleb Dexter111344 Complain here 22:32, 3 October 2008 (UTC)
Hell, I still have school now, yet I can make time for this. Me and Sycamore have been putting masses and masses of shit on QVFD recently. I'm also trying to keep this place vandalism-free, but most times I seem to be doing it mostly on my own. Yes, that reminds me. Your mother told me to tell you that she wants to discuss your grades with you. (She told me this while I was doing her, of course.) --Pleb SYNDROME CUN medicate (butt poop!!!!) 01:59, 4 October 2008 (UTC)
Ahahaha, you're so classy, Syndrome. Truly a breath of fresh air. --Pleb SYNDROME CUN medicate (butt poop!!!!) 02:00, 4 October 2008 (UTC)
I have plenty of time for Uncyc year 'round, I just don't do anything. Seriously. Member for 6 months, written two articles. I'm surprised I haven't been nominated for UGotM yet. -MafiaHatBrown.gif Velosi-T Icons-flag-us.png {] Screech * Vomit * Mutilations [} 02:33, 4 October 2008 (UTC)

ICU discussion

I've been meaning to bring this up for a while now, but Dexter's comment reminded me at a point where we can discuss it. It does seem like ICU is being used a little too much. I remember a year ago when out of 20 or 30 things on new pages, 5 got ICU and maybe one or 2 were good. Now, Its the opposite, most things on there are taged ICU when I would have put them on QVFD. Also, ICU|sub=notfunny seems a wee bit dumb, considering that if shit fails HTBFANJS should be killed or VFD'd on sight. Discuss. Lieutenant THEDUDEMAN Dude ... My opinion

The issue as I see it is not quality control: QVFD, VFD and ICU – the problem is that we’re getting too good at it – and it’s creating a very negative effect. I discovered this site about a year ago today, pissing around in the Uni libraries – what I saw I liked, writers wring genuinely funny articles that had a lot of intelligence and effort behind them. Now in the past while I’ve seen a worrying trend of users who spend a lot of time on QVFD/deletion related jobs, and think they’re not doing a good thing for the site – the very opposite is occurring, saturation of users who do “Maintenance” (Deletions). This usually involves evermore Noob driven deletions – a bad place for the site to go. Pee review has really become very slow as has VFH – the reason why – because of users doing “Maintenance” – I’m thoroughly pissed off at this, instead of encouraging contributors and improving the site in a positive fashion; we’ve embarked on a campaign of deleting far more than we produce – a surefire bad system. Healthy growth is accompanied by filth, most of VFD nominations are form the time when some of the best articles were written 06, 07 – Instead of going psycho please lets concentrate on de-crapping good/alright articles and helping users – we obviously need to do stuff like QVFD etc, what I’m saying is that as a pursuit it (emphasis on deletion) is a bad way to go about things. I’ll lay my pledge to do all in my power to make sure VFD never goes minus ten nominations = all you have to do is vote. You can then help users write better articles and write your own instead of going on some bulldozing “Maintenance” mission of QVFD, VFD and ICU. The bastard has spoken — Sir Sycamore (talk) 12:34, 5 October 2008 (UTC)

What if you are totally shit at writing humour? MafiaHatBrown.gif Judge Adriano "Legal" Zarbi Icons-flag-gb.png Talk! 12:40, 5 October 2008 (UTC)
As an inclusionist, I'll save a page from an expired ICU if it's got one good line, I'll vote to save a page on VFD if it's not total crap (on those rare times I'm there), and I'll cross out a page on QVFD if it's not garbage (and probably make fun of the nominator). If you want to fix up pages, go do it, but don't get pissy at us for not going and doing it. I, for one, am not that kind of writer. I'm the evil kind, hence the curly ends on my moustache. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to tie the heroine to the tracks. There's no way that the protagonist can stop me this time! Moo ha-ha! Sir Modusoperandi Boinc! 15:24, 5 October 2008 (UTC)
