Just delete your content and move it to a subpage, preferably titled "/Archive ##", where ## is the archive number. For example, if I have 3 archives, then I'd title them User talk:Qzekrom/Archive 1, User talk:Qzekrom/Archive 2 and User talk:Qzekrom/Archive 3. --Qzekrom sig trans.gif Qzekrom (talk) 19:32, April 8, 2012 (UTC)

I like B - that was the one I saw in the article that forced me to double take. A is more obvious, but as a result not as funny from my opinion. Of course, all I know of basketball is that it's like quidditch without brooms, so I may not be the best judge. Nominally Humane! 12:58 09 Apr

God[edit source]

It looks like God will be featured after all, God willing! That will be a surprise half-feature point to lots of people. That was before my time. Yay God! Aleister 12:16 10-4 good buddy

It was one of the first IC articles I worked on, and while I did very little writing on it, I spent a lot on fleshing out the concept. The majority of it comes from my basic idea, although not all of my idea got into it. Which, tbh, probably made it better. Nominally Humane! 01:08 10 Apr
Since you were the one instigating the feature you probably should be the one awarding 1/2 feature credits (maybe some people took them already?). You are the user sitting at the right hand of God passing out the rewards on earth, go forth and do so wisely. Aleister (I talked to a guy on a Crowley related thread on ats earlier, tried to tell him Crowley would have been a vegan now and he laughed at me. We befriended each other though. UnSignpost[edit source]

Why are you removing my UnSignpost with no reason?--WELCOME TO UNCYCLOPEDIA HELL!!!! Offensive flag.png 12:05, April 12, 2012 (UTC)

Because
(a) Whose signpost?
(b) There was not a snowballs chance in hell that was going out as a signpost
(c) Who told you to go ahead and create a signpost?
(d) You're trying to report the news of what's happened in the community over the past week when the week ending the 19th hasn't happened yet
(e) Xamralco is taking over the UnSignpost, as discussed between the Chief, myself, and him. I'm ready to take the entire thing back in a heartbeat if that is going to be an example of what the Signpost is likely to become.
(f) Do you know what the purpose of the UnSignpost actually is?
(g) You edit warred Chief over it, got banned, begged to be unbanned, came back and continued to create shit
(h) Did you read the edit comment?
(i) Did you read the earlier edit comment?
(j) Did you read and understand why you were stopped from editing the Signpost in the past?
(k) Because I've spent the better part of the day working on a way to create and edit a Signpost in a much less complex manner and I'm buggered if I went to that much effort to see cruft spammed everywhere
(l) I said so
(m) Do not ever edit the USP main page directly without actually talking to the editor in chief, which is the Chief
(n) Do you still not know why you were banned for a day?
(o) Do you need another ban - one that sticks - to work out what you're doing wrong?
(q) I'm probably going through the entire alphabet just to drive home the point that what you're trying to do, it aint going to happen
(r) Ask the Chief to arbitrate if you feel I was in the wrong
(s) Because several admins on IRC in the short time I was there spoke about what you were trying to do and thought it was funny to watch you putting so much effort into what was doomed to fail from the start
(t) I felt sorry for you making a fool of yourself again
(u) I'd had enough fun laughing at you making a fool of yourself but decided it was time to end it
(v) I love the way you ask me questions thinking that you'll get a nice polite answer when you know I don't pull punches
(w) you were being a dick
(x) you're still being a dick
(y) based upon previous experience, you're likely to continue being a dick
(z) BECAUSE IT WAS SHIT!

And if you're wondering where the (p) went - it's what's running down your leg as you read this. Nominally Humane! 12:23 12 Apr
So, why only now? why not just remove me right from the start?--WELCOME TO UNCYCLOPEDIA HELL!!!! Offensive flag.png 12:33, April 12, 2012 (UTC)

In answer to the question on Talk:Camilo Sesto[edit source]

Maybe he did have a Christ complex. I mean, he was Jesus in Jesus Christ Superstar. But then again, somebody had to be Jesus. The real question is, Why a drunken Jesus? Drunkenly, Care for a rose? the dorky contralto Proudly Mexican Did I mention I'm like 1/8 or 1/16 Korean? It's a long story. Brazil is very fascinating...

Thanks...[edit source]

...for taking care of that. I was actually using that as a test (something else was causing it to wrap wrong), and forgot to get rid of it. ~ BB ~ (T) Icons-flag-us.pngSun, Apr 15 '12 10:30 (UTC)

Also...[edit source]

Are all Flickr IDs 10 digits, like the one you linked to? If so, this should work as a bookmarklet:

javascript:var id=document.location.href.match( /\/\d{10,}\// );if(id) void(window.open("http:\/\/uncyclopedia.wikia.com\/wiki\/Special:Upload?wpSourceType=IFI&wpFlickrId="+id[0].replace(/\//g,""))); else alert("Sorry, that URL doesn't seem to contain a valid Flickr ID")

God I love regular expressions. ~ BB ~ (T) Icons-flag-us.pngSun, Apr 15 '12 11:53 (UTC)

Cool - but no, they aren't all 10 digits. While you were doing that though I've been playing with an idea that is more site based. I'd just grabbed the source for Special:ImportFreeImages and had a look at the way the body content is set out. At the moment we have:
<div id="bodyContent">
  <h3 id="siteSub">From Uncyclopedia, the content-free encyclopedia.</h3>
  <div id="contentSub"></div>
  <div id="jump-to-nav">Jump to: <a href="#column-one">navigation</a>, <a href="#searchInput">search</a></div>
  <!-- start content -->
  <fieldset><legend>Import free images</legend>
    <p>This page allows you to search properly licensed photos from flickr and import them into your wiki.</p>
    <form action="/index.php"><input type="hidden" name="title" value="Special:ImportFreeImages" />
      <input name="q" size="40" />
      <input type="submit" value="Search" />
    </form>
  </fieldset>
  <div class="printfooter">Retrieved from "<a href="http://en.uncyclopedia.co/wiki/Special:ImportFreeImages">http://en.uncyclopedia.co/wiki/Special:ImportFreeImages</a>"</div>
  <div id='catlinks' class='catlinks catlinks-allhidden'></div>
  <!-- end content -->
  <div class="visualClear"></div>
</div>

So if we tweak the html by innerHTML js to the following:

<div id="bodyContent">
  <h3 id="siteSub">From Uncyclopedia, the content-free encyclopedia.</h3>
  <div id="contentSub"></div>
  <div id="jump-to-nav">Jump to: <a href="#column-one">navigation</a>, <a href="#searchInput">search</a></div>
  <!-- start content -->
  <fieldset><legend>Import free images</legend>
    <p>This page allows you to search properly licensed photos from flickr and import them into your wiki.</p>
    <form action="/index.php"><input type="hidden" name="title" value="Special:ImportFreeImages" />
      <input name="q" size="40" />
      <input type="submit" value="Search" />
    </form>
    <form>
      <p>Alternatively, insert the URL of the Flickr image that you wish to import</p>
      <input id="FlickrURL" size="80" />
      <input type="button" onclick="javascript:str=document.getElementById('FlickrURL').value;var theArr = str.split('/');for (i=0;i<=theArr.length;i++){if(Number(theArr[i])>1){window.open('http://en.uncyclopedia.co/wiki/Special:Upload?wpSourceType=IFI&wpFlickrId='+theArr[i]),'_self'}}" value="Submit form" />
    </form>
  </fieldset>
  <div class="printfooter">Retrieved from "<a href="http://en.uncyclopedia.co/wiki/Special:ImportFreeImages">http://en.uncyclopedia.co/wiki/Special:ImportFreeImages</a>"</div>
  <div id='catlinks' class='catlinks catlinks-allhidden'></div>
  <!-- end content -->
  <div class="visualClear"></div>
</div>

It means we can cut and paste a URL into that second form field, and it will look through for the numerical field (ignoring any blanks, as they come up as zero) and springboard us to the relevant link to import.

as I said, I'm slow at js at the best of times. Are you able to tweak that applet to allow for numerical expressions based more upon where they sit in the URL? Extending my code out it was more like:

str=document.getElementById('FlickrURL').value;
var theArr = str.split('/');
  for (i=0;i<=theArr.length;i++)
  {
    if(Number(theArr[i])>1)
    {
      window.open('http://uncyclopedia.wikia.com/wiki/Special:Upload?wpSourceType=IFI&wpFlickrId='+theArr[i]),'_self'
    }
  }

Ya dig? Nominally Humane! 12:35 15 Apr

I was actually working on something like what you just posted, as we speak. I'll get back to you on that one, but in the meantime...this update of the above bookmarklet should work for Flickr IDs of any length:
javascript:var id=document.location.href.match( /\/\d+\// );if(id) void(window.open("http:\/\/uncyclopedia.wikia.com\/wiki\/Special:Upload?wpSourceType=IFI&wpFlickrId="+id[0].replace(/\//g,""))); else alert("Sorry, that URL doesn't seem to contain a valid Flickr ID")
The RegExp looks for numerical sequences enclosed between forward slashes, e.g. /12345678/ or /1/ or /1234567890123456789/ (any of those would match the RegExp). It might make it more fool-proof if you could ascertain the fewest possible digits in a Flickr ID, in which case I'd update that part of the expression to /\/\d{THATNUMBER,}\// . ~ BB ~ (T) Icons-flag-us.pngSun, Apr 15 '12 13:01 (UTC)
By the way, my first version will work fine for all Flickr IDs with 10 or >10 digits. Just not fewer than 10 (that's what the {10,} part means). ~ BB ~ (T) Icons-flag-us.pngSun, Apr 15 '12 13:37 (UTC)

Ok, new post[edit source]

Paste the contents of >this< into your js file, hit save, and do a hard refresh. It'll insert a special field on the Special:ImportFreeImages page. (You may have to purge your js file as well.) Cheers! ~ BB ~ (T) Icons-flag-us.pngSun, Apr 15 '12 14:55 (UTC)

ATS thread[edit source]

I see the Monkey has climbed up your tree. A good companion once in awhile, he brings bananas to the table. Say, if you have a three minute window can you come by ATS and give a flag (left hand corner, top of thread) to a thread I made about Vitamin C. It's a passion (fap fap fap) of mine, and deciding to do a thread was spur of the moment after I saw how little C has been discussed in the site's history. Flags bring the thread up to the next viewing level, and then it can take off and hit the front page, but the initial run is the most important. Thanks. I'll grab a link, but they stupidly don't refresh pages back to what you were looking at after you log-in. And if Happy Monkey follows, please play nice and don't think that site is a satirical site, although I am pretty light-hearted in my posts - can't shake the Uncy habit. The link is here. Aleister 3:14 16-4-'12

I haven't done my obligatory 20 posts there yet to be able to give flags. I'll have a look at it over the next few days (hopefully). Nominally Humane! 03:35 16 Apr
I forgot about the 20 posts. Those are pretty easy to rack up though, I think you have 10 or so already. I've been giving you those stars all along. I have 10 flags on the C thread last time I looked, almost enough to kick-start it well. Aleister 3:42 16-4-'12
I'm not in a rush. I'm only posting when I have something to say. Nominally Humane! 03:47 16 Apr
When the mood hits, remember your buddy, in the trenches, fighting for justice and health for all mankind (not womenkind, they can fend for themselves). It should be fine though, ten flags about 20 minutes ago should do it. People are using the thread to talk about cigarettes and sick family members. They're a Debbie downer man. Where did happy monkey go? Aleister 3:52 16-4 (UTC)
Success! The Vitamin C page is on the front page of ATS (they list eight articles), and went very well. Lots of people talking, stories of health and woe, idiots mixing things up, dogs and cats married with children. Weird that I should have my first thread on their front page just as the article on them is about to be featured. It could be.....a conspiracy of epic proportions!!! Aleister 20:50 16-4-'12

Way to overwhelm the site (and my feature) with a giant banner. And there's no "dismiss" button to waylay it. Is there anyway to cut it back a bit? I'll be seeing it in my sleep, and trying to dismiss it there. And on the contest itself, is any unnews written between now and then automatically entered in the contest? I had one in mind but may have to expand it into contest length. Hmmmmmmmm. Ideas be perculating. Aleister 2:08 Giant Banner day
p.s. Well, on second look, it's fine. I wasn't used to giant banners here, and it played with my "sense of space as related to the site" sense. Now it looks good. Never mind. I will go about my business now. (tiptoes out)

You are a Pee Buddy Judge[edit source]

I'm sure that's not news. But feel free to add {{User:PuppyOnTheRadio/PBJ}} to your user page to show everyone how clever you are.

As for the method of judging - I recorded this thingy earlier, but the long and the short of it - you will be judging every article in the category for which you chose to judge. I will create a judging page later on that allows you to add a comment/link to each article you judge, along with a score. The ideal is that you score one a scale of 0.0 - 10.0 in total, but if you want to score out of 100, or 50, or 8.9, you can do that as well, as long as you put in the max score in as well. (It will become apparent once I've actually created the judging page.) Judging will start on the 1st (sort of). I've actually allowed a days grace for people to complain about entries or submit a late entry with a good excuse (ie: I was dead for two weeks for tax purposes). I'll keep you posted. Cool. Have to play with it all to get it doing what I want it to do. I'm going to cut up bits and pieces of the stuff at the top as well, as I want it to simply prepend, and it'll be only one title that would be being changed. By cutting out a bundle of the superfluous code it'll mean that I just have the stuff I want. I'm managing to grasp what most of it is doing. I'll have to go through it slowly. Well, you'll want to leave the query strings alone; everything on lines 5-8, 30, 32, 34, 37, and 40 is essential. The name-value pair "title=..." refers to the actual article, not the {{title}} template (while I assume you know that, it's always best to make sure). ~ BB ~ (T) Icons-flag-us.pngThu, Apr 19 '12 12:35 (UTC)
jQuery is still new ground for me, so while I knew that, I prefer that you give me more information rather than less. I've just put something on MrN's page relating to what I have in mind, and started playing with a script in my monospace.js. And I'm fairly confident I know the answer but I'd rather check - what happens if you try to change a protected page? Nominally Humane! 12:48 19 Apr
Well, because I didn't add in any real error checking, you get an alert that says "yay! Edit was committed!", but in actuality, the server just sends this back:

          <?xml version="1.0"?>
          <api>
              <error code="protectedpage" info="The ``protect'' right is required to edit this page" />
          </api>
Some error checking would look like this:
          if ( jqObj.find( "error" ).length > 0 ) { /* handle error */ }
          else { /* handle success */ }
So, yeah. Error handling. ~ BB ~ (T) Icons-flag-us.pngThu, Apr 19 '12 13:14 (UTC)
For what I'm after it's not a huge priority yet, but it will eventually have to be done. It's all cool. Nominally Humane! 01:28 19 Apr

this[edit source]

I was just wondering why you did it this way. Do you propose that we simply shouldn't count reviews like this? Because, as shit as it was, the guy looked like he was genuinely trying to help, and we have always counted such short reviews in the past, and added them to Cajek's list. --Black Flamingo 21:13, April 19, 2012 (UTC)

Because the downside of having gone through and brought the list down to only half a dozen is that people don't bother doing reviews as there are only half a dozen there. I more looked at it from the perspective of an article edit though - if someone wrote an article that was intended to be funny but had that little effort in it we would usually delete/revert. This case I've done an undo and explained why it's an issue on the page and edit summary. Nominally Humane! 11:47 19 Apr
Okay, I am just concerned because reverting reviews has caused massive Hyperbole-related drama in the past, and it seems strange that we are suddenly not "counting" these short reviews (which we've all done when we first started out). Also, I don't think that's why people aren't reviewing, they weren't reviewing when there were 50 requests on the list. I don't have a problem with your methods but I want to make sure we all agree and are following the same procedure. --Black Flamingo 09:15, April 20, 2012 (UTC)
Tbh, if it was just the one I would have said "Yeah, cool, first time, etc." Given it was the half dozen or so in quick succession, I figured it'd be better to revert it. I also don't want the idea that a shit review is better than no review to grow. Of, and Feric Al Ferrous reviewed my incomplete history of the world article. It was short but concise and helpful - there's probably not much more that a review could have given me on it, now that I go back to it. I think he needs to be stepped up to a regular reviewer (fresh stain?). Given two of his reviews were my articles, I think it would be nicer that his efforts were recognised by someone else. He's turning into a very helpful user to have around the place. Nominally Humane! 09:57 20 Apr
Yeah I have been waiting with bated breath and a rock-hard penis for some time to welcome someone to Fresh Stains, if Ferric's done another good review then I should probably go and dangle a carrot (steady now). Have you spoken with the guy who did all these short reviews? If not I will go and have a polite word with him. --Black Flamingo 12:02, April 20, 2012 (UTC)
I think I was the third person to have a quiet word... Nominally Humane! 12:04 20 Apr

REMOVING DANEYOUSSEF'S JABS ON THE LATE HEATH LEDGER[edit source]

I'm sorry the gay jokes personally offended you, but anyone who saw "Brokeback"--well, who isn't gonna capitalize on that? The REALLY bad taste involves the jokes about his death by drug overdose. And take me at MY word, I've heard a lot of those. --DANEYOUSSEF

Hi! New sections go at the bottom of the page. I nearly missed this as a result of it being at the top. And I don't think I was offended by the jokes - it takes a bit to offend me. I do think that repeated mentions of gay have to have a bit more in them to be funny. For instance:
He was a gay faggot who liked cock up his ass
doesn't really make me laugh. However the line:
He was gayer than a tree full of monkeys on nitrous oxide.
makes me laugh. (I just stole that from either Douglas Adams or Neil Gaiman/Terry Pratchett, btw. It's not mine.) I'd suggest you read HTBFANJS, or watch some classic comedians and study what they do. Knowing what makes an okay line a good line, and what makes a good line a great line, will do you a lot of good in writing comedy. Nominally Humane! 10:08 20 Apr

Some more annoyances from that guy Bizzeebeever[edit source]

If you want to highlight visited (diff) or (curr|prev) links on RC, you could use this css code

body[class*=RecentChanges] #bodyContent a[href*=oldid]:visited { background-color: lightgreen }

and it would work better than javascript. ~ BB ~ (T) Icons-flag-us.pngFri, Apr 20 '12 13:37 (UTC)

It's not visited so much as having been checked by someone who checks recent changes. So I don't end up checking the same page that Frosty, MrN, and half a dozen others have already checked. I used to have something similar in my CSS that looked for short pages (or maybe new pages?) but I rarely got any advantage out of it. The idea is having a page with a record of who has checked what. Nominally Humane! 01:42 20 Apr
Ohhhh...um...wait, how would that work? I mean, how is the server going to tell us that another user has visited it? ~ BB ~ (T) Icons-flag-us.pngFri, Apr 20 '12 13:46 (UTC)
Oh, so the prepend-script you asked for is going to write an indicator somewhere, like, say, on User:PuppyOnTheRadio/checkedby, every time a rollbacker or admin visits a page on recent changes, thus providing a record that a page has been visited...? ~ BB ~ (T) Icons-flag-us.pngFri, Apr 20 '12 14:04 (UTC)
Add a tab onto a "diff" page that writes onto another page the link of the diff ID in question. The js would do the following:

If page is Special:RecentChanges then
Create an array of all the diff ids on the control page
Loop through elements in that array
Loop through links on the recent changes page
If the diff id in the link and the diff id in the array match
Background link light green
End if
Next in loop
Next in loop
Elseif the page is a diff page
Add tab to page that will prepend the control page with the diff id of the current page
End if

Or something along those lines. It's why I was looking at the QVFD script, as it does something very similar to check if the page in question is on the QVFD page, and then prepends it as a link if it isn't. It would mean that everyone who was a regular recent changes checker would need to use the same js gadget, but it would save on double handling. I'd also limit the control page to the last 1,000 diff id's, to reduce the processing overhead. The changes to that page would be recorded in the page history though, so we could see if a page was checked by going through the history of the control page. (Yes, that control page would have a fuck-ton of changes - ideally one for every change made on every other page, but given the size of each change would be minimal, I can't see this as a major overhead issue.)
Ya dig? And FU edit conflict! Nominally Humane! 02:12 20 Apr
I think I dig. But having nested loops is a baaaad idea, considering the size of both recent changes (at least 50 links, and as many as 500) and the control page (1000), that's 50,000+ iterations of the loops every time RC loads. Highly inefficient. The better way to do it is to do a single loop through the diff-links from recent changes, with each link being checked against the control page using a compiled regular expression. Much quicker. ~ BB ~ (T) Icons-flag-us.pngFri, Apr 20 '12 14:33 (UTC)
That was another concern. Each change is a page, prev, curr, user, and contribs. That doesn't count the 50 odd other links on the page. I was thinking it'd end up more like 2,600 links checked. (Although either of us could do a quick script to give us an actual count of an RC displaying 500.) I figured you'd have a better way to check - the nested loops are just a sign of my lack of coding nous. Nominally Humane! 02:42 20 Apr
Do links have an attribute for the text displayed? Nominally Humane! 02:44 20 Apr
Nope. ~ BB ~ (T) Icons-flag-us.pngFri, Apr 20 '12 14:45 (UTC)
However, finding the links you'll be interested in is simple. You just want the links with an "&oldid" as part of their query string, and jQuery can knock something out like that in two shakes of a sheep's tail. Something like this: $( "#bodyContent" ).find( 'a[href*="oldid"]' ) . Boom. A NodeList of links that are (diffs), or (cur|prev) or (changes).
I'll get back to you on it later today/tomorrow. ~ BB ~ (T) Icons-flag-us.pngFri, Apr 20 '12 14:48 (UTC)
I was actually thinking about the control page. The only data point we need is the diff id, but 456789 gives me a title and a link that both would need trimming/regexp to get that data point. Given we're only looking at an extra 1,000 steps in total it's not a huge issue, but I'm still thinking of alternatives. Nominally Humane! 11:43 20 Apr
You need more than the diff id. I was just doing some jquery manipulations of RC links and found several links where the diff id was 0. So we'll need to use the full curid+diff+oldid.
On RC, our script will just need to iterate through the links on the page once, comparing each link-href against the control page, using a regexp (or even .indexOf()). Text parsing. It's a piece of cake. ~ BB ~ (T) Icons-flag-us.pngSat, Apr 21 '12 0:28 (UTC)

Hi[edit source]

I've changed the displayed title on my universe article to an even funnier "title". Hope you like it! --Qzekrom sig trans.gif This has been an automated message by Cute Zekrom (talk) 00:25, April 21, 2012 (UTC)

Yes...you are right. I liked your tact on the voting page (i.e. you would prefer that the users with the most votes, were made admins). Very gracious! Don't forget to nominate an admin on the admin of the moment thingy! --ShabiDOO 02:27, April 21, 2012 (UTC)

Pee Buddy awards[edit source]

Was there a main discussion about this amongst the community, not just for general setup, but also to get an idea of the support for the thing, and who all would participate and/or judge it prior to its start? I can't seem to find anything about that, and considering how long it has apparently been in the sitenotice and the fact that nobody has yet submitted anything, that seems a little concerning, though maybe I'm just not finding it. Anyhow, since it seems to be your brainchicken, perhaps you could shed some light on the matter? Thanks. 1234 ~ 16px-Pointy.png 10:18, 21 April 2012

Ha! L's back, like a thorn in your side, like a jew in your henhouse, like a camel going through the eye of the needle that you hid in one of your sock drawers. By the way, I'll probably write something for the contest, although no recording is allowed in my town via constable decree. Aleister April (UTC)
There was a bit of chatter through Mattsnow's talkpage. There are a few judges lined up, but the lack of entries is a concern in one way, but not surprising unfortunately. UnNews has dropped off the radar slightly, and this was thrown together as a user space competition to see if we could inject some life into it. If it works and gets interest, great. If it gets no interest, or minimal interest, that's fine - it was an experiment that disn't work. UN:CW was no way near as big this year as it has been in the past, Extra Van Gan Za didn't even get off the ground. We've probably glutted on competitions, and not enough users around to justify them. As for the site banner - it was floated as an idea to ZB in the same conversation I had with him re the membership drive, and I asked RAHB to pop it up at the same time as Mattsnow asked MrN. It hasn't been done in secret by any stroke of the imagination - just that you weren't aware of it at the time, sadly. Nominally Humane! 11:36 21 Apr
So if there was support for doing this, perhaps poking those who said they would take part so that they actually do would help? Or are you saying that running the contest is the gauge for interest itself?
As for the banners, I talked to Zombiebaron and RAHB and it looks like that was just a bit of a misunderstanding - it would seem any of Zombiebaron's support for a banner was for the intent of encouraging people to join, not promoting a random contest (since that's just not what banners are for), and RAHB... well, RAHB just likes to be helpful. He's rather lovely like that, but you need to be careful. He does too. 1234 ~ 16px-Pointy.png 19:46, 21 April 2012
I still don't quite understand. How many articles is each user judging? --Qzekrom sig trans.gif This has been an automated message by Cute Zekrom (talk) 21:11, April 21, 2012 (UTC)
There was a huge discussion saying "we should do - we should do" and nobody actually doing. Setting this up cut through a potential dramathon and it will gauge wether a competition like this is a viable competition going forward. (Much the same way Happy Monkey started by just saying "this is the layout, so go for it".) I'm as happy for this to be a resounding success as it is to be a dreadful flop - I spent a bit of time playing with the microphone image, but beyond that haven't invested much more into this than doing a copypasta of PLS competition. Well, not 100% accurate - I'd obviously prefer it to be a success, but as a gauge of interest in audio in UnNews going forward it also helps. And as for poking those that showed interest in competing... They are aware of the competition now (and that banner should come down as it's been there for a week or so now). I'll hand the idea on to Mattsnow, and see what happens.
Qzekrom - As many entries as there are in the category for which you've chosen to judge. Nominally Humane! 01:34 22 Apr
L - that. I can see the confusion now. Nominally Humane! 01:44 22 Apr

Yo DAWG[edit source]

Check this the fuck out. I did it! Two minor problems - 1) it shows up on recent changes every time I mark a page. I think we can fix that by setting the "bot" flag for the script, although I tried that, and it doesn't seem to work. (I'm guessing I didn't do it right.) 2) I didn't include a reset function, so it will just keep getting bigger and bigger until somebody manually cuts the size down to something manageable.

Try it out, though. Just put this in your monobook.js file (or uncyclopedia.js if you're using Vector):

importScript( "User:Bizzeebeever/scripts/patrol.js" )

It writes the tokens to here. Each diff page gets a "Mark" tab, and when you click that, the token is added to the diffs file; when you go to RC, the diff you marked gets a green background. By the way...did I tell you that was a damn good idea yet? If not..."That was a damned good idea, Pup." Still may be a bit rough around the edges, but it works. Hurrah! ~ BB ~ (T) Icons-flag-us.pngSat, Apr 21 '12 13:26 (UTC)

Al often gives sage advice. I really want to play with it, but it'll wait until morning. Nominally Humane! 01:39 21 Apr
You know the mediawiki has a built-in patrol function, right? Or did you already try getting Wikia to enable it, and they said no? 1234 ~ 16px-Pointy.png 18:50, 21 April 2012
Yeah, and it's only available to sysops by default. User rights can be changed to allow other groups, but...I mean, sounds like a hassle. You remember all those pages that disappeared when I asked 'em to institute new namespaces? I mean...next thing we know, they blow up the wiki.
Anyway, this is more fun, and I get to test my js skills. ~ BB ~ (T) Icons-flag-us.pngSat, Apr 21 '12 22:31 (UTC)
I wasn't aware, but this also gets me to learn more js stuff, and we have better control over it. (For a while it looked as though our top coder was likely to leave and not come back, and it helps to have a few coders around. I'm better than many other users, but I know I'm not as good as either of you.) The principles I've been playing with here are able to be used for a few other functions around the site as well. Nominally Humane! 01:40 22 Apr
Who's our top coder? ~ BB ~ (T) Icons-flag-us.pngSun, Apr 22 '12 3:14 (UTC)
Probably Spang did the most useful scripting here for a while. I was referring to Lyrithya then, as she was the one who semi-left recently. I was coding more here prior to my leaving, but it was very hacky. And you're now my go to guy for code. So take your pick. Nominally Humane! 09:38 22 Apr

Reorderable reviewtable[edit source]

I noticed you've run into the review table ordering issue on a couple reviews, with some things that merit saying first and the like, so here - the default {{Pee Review Table}} can be reordered same way as my bubbly one - just add an '|order=CHIMP' or whatever and it'll rearrange things into that order. Hope that helps. 1234 ~ 16px-Pointy.png 20:36, 21 April 2012

I like the layout of the bubbly one as well. I actually prefer the full width sections. If I have four paragraphs in one section it seems to have an excess of whitespace on the left to have a one paragraph descriptor for it. Nominally Humane! 01:24 22 Apr

Competition[edit source]

Should I add all UnNews written in the lawful period to the comp? I'll ask the writer first, then if he agrees I'll add it, what do you think? Talk Mattsnow 21:31, April 21, 2012 (UTC)

It might be an idea. I know that's how I first got into a PLS competition. And there were a few people who showed interest in having the competition run who didn't want to judge - Lyrithya suggested poking them to see of they are still going to enter. Nominally Humane! 01:36 22 Apr
Messages sent, 2 responded and submitted their UnNews! :P Talk Mattsnow 01:41, April 22, 2012 (UTC)
(Read this until the end, a pretty good idea there) I expect to probably join in, but don't know when. Maybe not at all, it's when the jell hits the writing time. This was no help. Matt, you should write something in a category you'll not going to judge, or not. SPIKE isn't even intrerested in a one-time comeback? He's like the Hall of Famer of UnNews recordings, and should be given the chance to throw out the first ball of something. Why not change the name to Pee Buddy SPIKE Awards? Aleister
I miss Spike. And Zim. Both fantastic at UnNews audio. If you want to give them both a jab Al, that might be a good idea. (Although the name change of the competition is probably not such a fantastic idea - even though we are looking for a new Spike.) Nominally Humane! 01:48 22 Apr
h, since SPIKE had his Killer Froggy PTSD situation he hasn't spoken to me. I left him lots of notes, and can't recall an answer. So you better try instead. And Zim can be reached at Illogicopedia after his uncy breakdown (the job drove them both batters, as while as that Humbracker guy, and the only one whose held up like a champion is Mattsnow who shows few if any signs of the UnNews PTSD. Aleister April (UTC)
I sure will write an UnNews for the competition, maybe also rewrite one. You should too, Al! And well, being the UnNews editor is not hard, shit UnNews that I userspace are usually written by people that rarely visit the site. I remember only one person that was not happy that I userspaced his UnNews, had a bit of an argument but I don't even remember his name lol Talk Mattsnow 02:09, April 22, 2012 (UTC)
I remember that too. If I didn't say it at the time, you made the right call. Nominally Humane! 02:30 22 Apr
