  1. Nah. This is satire in the same way that cubism is accessible to the receptor of layman's terms. I know it's a humorous intake of an artistic exhibition, since the Paritition Treaties and the Treaty of Ryswick both occurred around 30 years after Saltzman is supposed to have died, but Srmt-Guy didn't tend to understand any rigid jocularities in this article of any kind. Essentially it's sort of like this, but for really, really, really, really high-brow people. I'll vote against on the grounds it's not helpfully obvious that's meant for comedy, if any that is. --nldr 17:19, February 15, 2010 (UTC)
  2. Against. I read the article and it went right over my head. I came to this page looking for an explanation, and found it, but still... to me, the premise is too weak for me to support. Necropaxx (T) {~} Tuesday, 02:42, Feb 16 2010
  3. Symbol declined.svg Against. Seems to be too intelligent for me... I hadn't got the "jokes" before I looked there. 77.114.38.20 11:47, March 2, 2010 (UTC)
I agree, it does seem to be too intelligent for you, see this instead, you may clap your hands and giggle. Thanks for your one and only edit on Uncyclopedia, ~ User:Aleister in Chains User talk:Aleister in Chains 15:57 2 3 mmx
  4. Against. OK, here's the deal: this didn't make me laugh. Once. I appreciate it may be clever, it may also be subtle. But honestly, I found it a chore to read, and anything requiring that much quite specialised knowledge to get nothing more than a vague smile from me is not something I can vote for. If that makes me lowbrow or dumb then so be it. Where are the poop-throwing monkeys at? --UU - natter UU Manhole.gif 12:34, Mar 11

  8. Against. Articles this highbrow must be supplemented with equal amounts of humor, which this article doesn't have. M'su Carencro - Talk - Contributions - Blag 02:32, March 22, 2010 (UTC)

  • I found this by looking at random articles, which I enjoy. A near masterpiece of satire without aliens or poop (poop? Who would do that?), Your mom, etc. by a one-article user from 2007. Intelligent, fully realized, and Uncy would do itself proud, imnho, to feature this. Al chained 13:55 15 Feb. MMX
  • Symbol neutral vote.svg Abstain. Mongo never get degree. Mongo confused by article. Where Mongo supposed to laugh?--DRStrangesig5.png Sherman.png Fingertalk.png  17:26, February 15, 2010 (UTC)
    • Mongo and Nachlader, the fantastic take of this page for me is that photographs did not exist in the 1600s, and here Saltzman has 500 photos of the warriors from every possible angle which have been cataloged and analyzed, all made with a camera obscura that he had to lug around the battlefields and somehow take images from. Satire is painless, it brings on many changes. My high brow is giving me a headache, so I must go play with my monkey monkeys now. Al in Chains
      • That's a bloody good interpretation alright, but I'm just worried whether or not every Dick, Harry and Mongo is going to assume that when they read it. I think the article is brilliant, but I just think that if it's featured, there will some people who say they don't get the joke, and it could be a furore to rival Euroipods. --nldr 19:12, February 15, 2010 (UTC)
        • Ah, I tell you what, I'll scratch my vote to affirm I still like the article and whatever. --nldr 19:53, February 15, 2010 (UTC)
  • I hate jokes that the author (or the curator of the article) has to explain! I know a little of the invention of the camera but didn't (and wouldn't) make the connection between eras to appreciate the impossibility of what is set out here--especially given the deadpan treatment, which I enjoy. Can't the article, very subtly, bring it a bit of the way toward us public-school types? Spıke ¬  03:33 16-Feb-10
    • Loved the deadpan, a perfect word. Humour, to me, isn't always an out loud laugh, but a "whoa" feeling. The approach is academic, curator style, and this,to me, sells the page. Maybe a couple of sentences could be added, hmmmm, I'll take a look and see if can be "fixed" without removing the academic style. Here, I'll use the fancy signature, ~ User:Aleister in Chains User talk:Aleister in Chains 3:40 16 Feb. MMX

On a minor point the links on this page go to wikipedia. They should really go to other articles inside Uncyclopedia.--Laurels.gifRomArtus*Imperator ® (Orate) 11:42, February 16, 2010 (UTC)

I found the author on the innernests, he seems to be a British writer who's known for his expertise on the game Sudoko. There's an email address there, maybe I'll drop him a note. If, unforgivingly, he is known for Sudoko, then this Uncy page may actually be his best work. Aleister in Chains 14:21 20 Feb. MMX
of COURSE he's british! the british make the finest articles, the finest upholstery, the finest lace and the finest porcelain --nldr 18:43, February 21, 2010 (UTC)
  • Symbol comment vote.svg Comment. Okay...after reading Ally's explainations here, I've come to the conclusion that the article is funny in a "wow, that's amazing!" way?
