Welcome to Un<platformer game title removed>, the best text-based alternative to a platformer game that shall not be named. The problem is that I have never played the original have only played the first four chapters all the way through (I only am about 75% done with Mirror Temple), so I'm just gonna create my own plot based on the titles of the remaining chapters.
