I don't know if this is just for me, but the forums are getting completely screwed up. In BHOP I see every active Village Dump topic listed by last post with the BHOP topics, completed Pee Reviews are staying the new requests area, and old requests is suddenly filled with completed reviews from May. I don't know if anyone else is seeing this, but if so please tell me WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON! Sig pic.PNG Unsolicited conversation Extravagant beauty PEEING 20:06, 24 October 2007 (UTC)

I got a database error earlier when I tried to get on to the forums; it was fixed but this could maybe be fallout from that? Not sure really BonSig.png (Bonner) (Talk) Oct 24, 20:08
DPLForum and Dynamicpagelist have just been updated... maybe not as successfully as first seemed. Algorithm may be the best person to understand what's going on... I'll try and catch him on IRC -- sannse (talk) 21:09, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
I have no idea what I'm doing wrong with this DPL stuff. My userpage, which has never had a DPL problem, now magically has a slew of them... and oh yeah, all those annoying things that Boomer listed, they're bad too. Hopefully it'll get fixed before it breaks the Featured Article queue. Which would be like, the end of the world or something. And I didn't even get to play Halo 3.  Sir Skullthumper, MD (criticize  writings  critchat) 21:20 Oct 24, 2007
I had suspisions as well, when I saw reviewed pees appearing in this, and wow, the DPL tags on your userpage are messed up--Sir Manforman CUN.png 21:23, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
Your face is messed up. OHHHH!!!  Sir Skullthumper, MD (criticize  writings  critchat) 21:24 Oct 24, 2007

Is there any chance of getting a list of improvements from the previous version to this one, so we can weigh the benefits against the sitewide broken DPL (which a lot of Uncyclopedia depends on), and know exactly how much to whine?  Sir Skullthumper, MD (criticize  writings  critchat) 22:21 Oct 24, 2007

There was a problem with the notcategory parameter, which was what was making old stuff turn up where it shouldn't be. I think the same fix might need to be applied to the forum extension, ask Moli or TOR what that fix was.
Other problems are probably to do with changes in the default settings or something, point out any errors and I'll tell you where the problem is.
There's many improvements in this version, mostly small, like recently featured on the front page now showing in the correct order, and a single apostrophe in a title no longer causing the whole featured article system to die. It's worth it, any bugs now are just temporary and can probably be fixed easily. Spang talk 22:30, 24 Oct 2007
Temporary? Thank heavens. I'm glad it's Spang™ Approved, at least.  Sir Skullthumper, MD (criticize  writings  critchat) 03:38 Oct 25, 2007
Is this why the date headers at UnNews are goofed up? - Zaui TALK MUN - 15:40, 25 October 2007 (UTC)
No idea what you're talking about :P But yes, and fixed. Spang talk 00:04, 26 Oct 2007

It's Benson

Benson is screwing with our forums, causing confusion throughout the land. It's a sign of his second coming. -- Kip the Egg Easter egg.gif Talk Easter egg.gif Works Easter egg.gif 05:08, 25 October 2007 (UTC)

No, actually, it's me. I dropped my Ban Hammer onto the Village Dump, and it broke. --SPY Administrator (Complain|I rock|In memoriam) HMRFRA Bluegarrisoncapsig.png Sucrose b.gif WH 12:47, 25 October 2007 (UTC)
Funny. The evidence weighs in my theory's favor. -- Kip the Egg Easter egg.gif Talk Easter egg.gif Works Easter egg.gif 04:50, 27 October 2007 (UTC)

Fixed?

I'm not sure what I'm looking for, so please can you check and see if there are still errors? Ta. -- sannse (talk) 17:33, 25 October 2007 (UTC)

Looks like it's fixed; thanks Sannse. --Algorithm 21:58, 25 October 2007 (UTC)

Hmm...

It appears that Algorithm has to do this rather frequently. But do we ever thank him publicly? I am hereby hijacking this topic and turning it into the THANK YOU ALGORITHM page. Enjoy. Sig pic.PNG Unsolicited conversation Extravagant beauty PEEING 22:30, 25 October 2007 (UTC)

I'll wait until January 2008 to do that. Wink wink. Um, does /n suddenly not work now? Is there a new format for putting in a linebreak?  Sir Skullthumper, MD (criticize  writings  critchat) 04:37 Oct 27, 2007

Isn't it \n? --Sir Starnestommy Icons-flag-us.png (TalkContribsCUNCapt.) 04:44, October 27, 2007
Darn it! That's what I meant to say. But \n isn't working properly for me. I was just wondering, I'm probably gonna remove my personal code on my userpage soon, I didn't realize it was going to be such a pain.  Sir Skullthumper, MD (criticize  writings  critchat) 04:48 Oct 27, 2007
No, what happened is: wikia decided to downgrade DPL again, but at the same time, helpfully hacked the code so it indiscriminately stuck a \ in front of certain characters, including backslash. The result with \n being that it now reads that as \\n, converts the \n to a new line, so you're left with a backslash and a new line. And because in mediawiki you need an empty line to get a new paragraph, it can't currently output a new paragraph that way. Good news is that you can use ¶ to get a new line instead, unless they happen to escape that too. All quote marks are also slashied up. If anyone ever meets whoever did that, smack them upside the head for me.
Good news is that it will apparently be fixed by tomorrow morning. However, when wikia says "fixed", that could mean anything at all. So yeah, the problem isn't your code at all, it's wikia. Spang talk 05:01, 27 Oct 2007

At least Wikia Hasn't Crashed

We all remember what happened when Chuck Norris got de-featured, right? So it could be worse.

(Wikia went offline for 2 hours, for those who don't know or remember)
