This is something Team MoveCabal have been discussing in varying degrees for some time, and as things seem to be going well with the upkeep now, and Illogicopedia is currently attempting to revise and overhaul their site, I think it's pertinent to bring up. The idea would be to move Illogicopedia's content (which, as I understand it, is in the neighborhood of one gigabyte in total size) from their currently terrible hosting situation, to be side-by-side with Uncyclopedia on our newly acquired server, which, also as I understand it, can much more than handle the traffic and content of both websites without any problems. This would not really be a change to Uncyclopedia, or affect us in any way that I can see. I imagine that the pending discussion for the pros and cons on Illogicopedia itself (which will be in motion shortly) will go much further in determining whether this move be made.

Currently Illogicopedia is hosted very poorly. I don't know the technical aspects of this, Lyrithya or someone could probably provide those if needed. The main thing I do know, and that I think most people who've been to Illogicopedia will inevitably realize, is that their server has a terrible tendency to massively crash for inconvenient intervals of time, often when the current logged in users raises above, say, ten. I think that this would be in the best interest of both communities, as we would be getting on good terms with a fellow humor wiki, and those (such as myself, for example) of us who prefer to write sillier material sometimes would have a proper outlet for doing so, that doesn't crash all the time.

So, as I said, discussions of this will be made at Illogicopedia, and in terms of practicalities and such, that is where most of the talks will lie. However, as this server was acquired on behalf of the Uncyclopedia community, and with the intent that the community is to be able to dictate how we should be putting our resources to use, I pose this message to the community. It is your server. If anyone has any objections, questions, or interjections, please post them here. Thanks, all. -RAHB 02:28, 3 February 2013 (UTC)

Suppose I should get the ball rollling.....Ahem..."dongs." -RAHB 02:28, 3 February 2013 (UTC)

I see the ball rolling and chase it like a dog. I certainly enjoy writing on ?pedia (haven't for awhile, but I get good energy and inspiration there). The site seemed to have maybe a dozen people who were actively writing, maybe less, and if all of them agree to do this I think it's a great idea. They are also host to some of our best writers in recent years, and if some of them come here once in awhile it would greatly benefit this site, and viva vica. Aleister 2:34 3-2-'13

I certainly don't see why not, especially if it might bring some old fellas more closely into the fold (lookin at you Hindleyite, if you're even still there) --Littleboyonly.jpg TKFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFCK Oldmanonly.jpg 09:47, 3 February 2013 (UTC)

I am still here, barely. But the (not so) important thing is that I remain alive, despite the best efforts of those with malicious intent! Discussions are currently ongoing at Illogico so we may see some activity in the coming days. Ohh, how exciting. -- Hindleyite Converse?pedia 22:15, 3 February 2013 (UTC)

Anyone? --ShabiDOO 03:04, 3 February 2013 (UTC)

These are different sites with different communities and entirely different aims. Merging just wouldn't work, but that's fine - each are their own entities, part of a larger community of crazy wikis full of wonderfully silly folk. We would like to bring that community closer together in time, but 'merger' probably isn't the term for that when all the pieces will remain very much their own distinct entities.
Although in some cases articles might fit on both - given the license any articles that folks on one like from the other are available for yoinking if attributed. -— Lyrithya 03:15, 3 February 2013 (UTC)

It is also worth noting that a significant portion of illogicopedians have accounts here themselves, some choose to focus here more and others focus their more for whatever reasons they have. If they want to be a part of Uncyclopedia, all they have to do is login again. ~Sir Frosty (Talk to me!) Proudly bogan 03:22, 3 February 2013 (UTC)
I haven't actually taken a look at ilogicapedia for maybe two years. For some strange reason I always thought it was a wikipedia parody too (our competition) and thought there was lots of rivalry between us. Seems to be the 10th thing I've assumed wrong in the last month. Would I assume that it's correct at least that you are all actual human beings from the planet earth (or at least this galaxy) with faces and fingers and white blood cells ... with no plans on destroying the world with a giant box of Fruit Loops? --ShabiDOO 04:09, 3 February 2013 (UTC)
Damn, so close. I'm from Alpha Centauri. The rest is good, though. I totally don't want to take over the world... -RAHB 04:12, 3 February 2013 (UTC)
It is a wikipedia parody too, but with a different angle. Chances are anything you may have seen resembling rivalry was more just folks who'd left Uncyclopedia being irritable than actual rivalry, though confusion would be understandable. -— Lyrithya 09:05, 3 February 2013 (UTC)
I, for one, strongly support this move. The annoying hosting on Illogicopedia's current site is the main reason why I haven't been there for so long. Would be wonderful to go on a freewheeling spree again without fear of slowdowns and all that. Lord Scofield Stark 19:10, 3 February 2013 (UTC)
Hahah, fools! You fell for the ruse that Illogico is indeed a clever parody of the Free Encyclopedia, originally concocted to convince the Wikia admins that ?pedia was worthy of a move to their servers back in two thousand and never. Muhuhuhuhh.... :P
As an aside, the number of replies on this page warms the cockles of the Illogicopedian heart. So many familiar (type?)faces! -- Hindleyite Converse?pedia 22:20, 3 February 2013 (UTC)

POV From Silent Penguin

I'm going to get Silent Penguin (the ruler of ?pedia) on skype and ask him to give his point of view. — Capitalis quadrata Y.SVG (talk) (contributions) Feb 5 2013 00:25.

If he gives you any trouble oil his feathers with linseed oil. MrN MrN9000SouthParksmall.jpg 16:29, Feb 11
Pretty sure Hindleyite is the "ruler" of ?pedia. -- Brigadier General Sir Zombiebaron 16:31, 11 February 2013 (UTC)
