Re:HowTo:Commit The Perfect Murder/Pee Review

I change the quotes, which I admit were pretty weak and tightened up the end sections, which i was too tired to do last night. Thanks for the pointers, hope you enjoyed it. User:Nyd59/sig

Digger?

Why do you dig everything? It feels like an in-joke that's going over my head. --Kelpan 17:43, 7 May 2007 (UTC)

Eh, its probably because I listen to funk music quite regularly. Definitely no in-joke... you should see people's faces when I say it in real life..
"Say, you wanna go get some coffee later?" "Hell yeah I can dig on that!" "um..." (I also like to blame it on this man)  :) --THINKER 21:03, 7 May 2007 (UTC)

The Creature of Planet Cheese

Hi, Thinker. Listen, about this article; RKO never made crappy movies like this. American International Pictures (AIP), however, did. They used to try to get backing from companies by using random commercial products as their inspiration; they would take a commercial product at random (Cheese Whiz), come up with a movie name from the product (before the script had even been written), have one of their story guys (Charles Beaumont) write a short story upon which to base their screenplay, get one of the writers on their pay to cobble together said screenplay (Robert J. Gurney, Jr.), invite some of the studio boss's relatives over to make further changes or even redo the script (Charles B. Griffith and Lou Russoff), then, finally, get a cheap, hack, or has-been director (William Beaudine) to hurriedly shoot the movie, with the producers/studio bosses (James H. Nicholson and Samuel Z. Arkoff) to edit and finally release the picture, some weeks after the short story was originally written.
I'm sorry if that sounded complicated, but that's how it happened back in those days. Didn't mean to disrupt your creative process, but I just found you putting RKO instead of AIP rather mistaken. Sorry. The Humbled Master 20:28, 9 May 2007 (UTC)
RKO never produced crappy movies like this; they did, however, distribute a number of terrible films (sci-fi and otherwise). Rocky Horror didn't sing it arbitrarily dude: The Thing from Another World (1951), Captive Women (1952), Cat People (1942), the original King Kong, etc., all bear the RKO tower. AIP would've been a better choice if we were working on a sci-fi-geared wiki where people would understand the joke; I don't like to make people work too hard to enjoy an article. But you can change it back to Artists Int'l if you want; that was never really the issue in that section. That comes when, in this context, a work that I produced myself has 20 other names taking baseless credit by default (again, another joke that, if left, would not necessarily translate smoothly for the casual reader). I have no problem sharing credit, but the perception in the case of an unscript would be misleading, even though its a valid joke. Hell, put your name in there if you plan on working on it more.
I also did reverts because a few of the altered lines within the script changed the tone of their delivery. I'm going for the feel of a Lord Wood's production -- thus, killing Dr. Jarnin must off screen and exposed through character rather than plot, I thought 'crabby' vs 'crab' in crab apples made it a bit awkward, etc. Those are stylistic touches which I thought resonated well within the original draft, no offense to you at all. If you want to keep editing the piece (which I'd encourage, if you're a sci-fi nerd like myself), do it section-by-section. That way, should there be some issue, we can work it out by itself without reverting a whole page-worth of edits. Thanks for the input, brother! --THINKER 01:27, 10 May 2007 (UTC)
You're welcome, Thinker! Say, listen, how would you suggest I edit the article? I mean, would there be boundaries as to how far I could go, or as to what material I could put in? I'd just like to be helpful; that's all. Thanks! The Humbled Master 20:11, 10 May 2007 (UTC)
I know you're just trying to help, thats why I'm not coming down on you as harshly as the people on your user page...
As for how to help effectively, its all about fitting the tone. The revert I did was as such because it spanned a great deal of the article all at once; it doesn't mean that there weren't parts I wouldn't keep in there. All I'm saying is if you're going to work on it, do it in sections. Me and THE are an ebb and flow writing team; he'll write, I'll edit it up and spin it, he'll do the same of my writing, etc. I'm sure that there will be some very funny stuff if you go about it properly. I fully embrace the communal work mentality of a wiki, and am not trying to horde the article.
Take another look at the un-MST'd version of This Island Earth when you have a chance: I'm going for a Dr. Ruth Adams level of melodramedy. --THINKER 23:39, 10 May 2007 (UTC)

Please try harder... --dantoller

'scuse me?
The page is fun, but if it wouldn't be very self-promoting if others work on it. You try harder. I've got seafood to attend to. --THINKER 23:29, 10 May 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for helping out with Drunk Olympics. Those pictures are hilarious! --THE 11:59, 13 May 2007 (UTC)

No problem buddy! The beer and man drinking are just mine in caption (someone else uploaded), but the logo is an idea I had a long time ago that came together pretty well, and is now featured on my own page! Just wanted to get my chops up in case I have to do the posters for Sex Seafood :-D --THINKER 23:59, 13 May 2007 (UTC)
yeah, the article seems to be coming along nicely. I've added a TON of stuff to the article in the past few days. the new sections could use some input from you, especially one section where I talk about Bog and UQG making Oscar acceptance speeches. I wrote one for the unrelated quote guy, but I figured I'd leave Bog's speech up to you (you're better at writing those quotes than I am :) --THE 20:47, 14 May 2007 (UTC)

Dane Cook

Yo. I saw your idea for renomming the Dane Cook article. I feel bad nominating it (I already nominated two of my own things in the past three days). I was just kidding on that actually due to the Anarchist's Cookbook flying through. #5 is me pallie. And you were right: popularity is what you're lacking. MO is only partially humorous, but writes well and has, apparently, made many friends. I'm done noming my stuff for VFH: the bulk of the people here only laugh at "intellectual" humor with obvious jokes and humor-eliminating deliveries. I'm sticking with the few people I've encountered who actually understand humor, of which I believe you are one, so be happy with your progress. :) --THINKER 00:10, 14 May 2007 (UTC)
Oh, sweet correctness. But I'm making friends here, and I've also learned to chill a bit. I've got Ceridwyn (and Modus, but mostly the former) to thank for that. But spread the word about HowTo, right quick. Darwin might screw it over again. And, if you want, you may renom the Cook article. Not my place. Red Pill Matrix article

It's awesome. Just thought you'd like to know. --Kelpan 18:02, 16 May 2007 (UTC)

Man, thank you. Thanks very much. I was just starting to doubt it due to the down votes on VFH (and some IP who apparently thought it was gay enough to vandalize; at least people are reading!). Messages like this reaffirm my conviction that my writing isn't being wasted here. Thanks again bud. And I'm glad Evolution of an Uncyclopedia editor made it to the front page, even though I voted against it to protect potential n00bz0rz (guess I was wrong about 'em anyway, if IPs are scribbling on my stuff haa). Its an excellent piece. :) --THINKER 18:13, 16 May 2007 (UTC)

Sex Seafood: complete?

Hey Thinker...I just finished giving Sex Seafood another once-over. I added some links and categorized it, but that's about all I could think of doing. It seems to me like the article has all the sections it is going to have unless you can think of any more sections to add, and apart from some minor tweaking and rephrasing, this article is pretty much complete. Your call though, dude. whaddya say? shall we remove the under construction tag and release this article into the wild? --THE 20:38, 16 May 2007 (UTC)

OOPS!!!!! Sorry for the confusion Thinker! I didn't see all of the message you wrote in my talk page! Oops! Construction template removed. As for what you said in my talk page about making an article about the DVD that links to the different scripts and the "making of" article, I think we can wait to figure that out until after we get the scripts done. Once we know what the movie is like, we can figure out what to do from there. Again, sorry I missed your message and wrote you one saying the exact same thing :0 --THE 23:23, 16 May 2007 (UTC)
LoL no worries, I knew you'd see it at some point. I'm happy to know you made your way to voting for my Matrix article without seeing my whoring. :)
That sounds good on DVD idea. Construction template leaves that page, and finds a new home somewhere about here: UnScripts: Sex Seafood: An Exploration in Flim by Peter Bogdanovich and Unrelated Quotes Guy. I'll start on some content soon!! --THINKER 23:29, 16 May 2007 (UTC)
excellent! perhaps it should it be UnScripts:Sex Seafood, though...not a major issue, but once we get to doing the commentary I figure "UnScripts:An Exploration in Flim by Peter Bogdanovich and Unrelated Quotes Guy (director's commentary edition)" would be a bit of a stretch. --THE 23:38, 16 May 2007 (UTC)
Hah I just made it with the full title (I crack up at "Flim")...Long-windedness seems appropriate for the pair, but I can see how it would be a lot for the title. If you wanna move the stuff from the new page to UnScripts:Sex Seafood go for it and redirect the current page. I'll be around later tonight for some work perhaps. I'm gunna start asking around for some experienced chopping assistance so we can get some pics on the page. --THINKER 23:44, 16 May 2007 (UTC)
The old title is fine for now, and if we get annoyed with it later we could always move it then. this is gonna be fun! --THE 23:57, 16 May 2007 (UTC)
I'm going away for the weekend, so I'll probably be unavailable to edit for a few days. I should be back on Monday to start contributing stuff to the script. sorry for the incovenience --THE 19:56, 17 May 2007 (UTC)
No problem; hopefully if I get inspired, you'll have some good funny to look forward to upon your return. :) --THINKER 22:37, 17 May 2007 (UTC)

I'm back! I added some interaction to the script, between Alister and a rather simple-minded crab. Feel free to do whatever you want with what I added, since I'm still rather new at script writing and am not even sure if I properly formatted the dialogue. --THE 19:06, 20 May 2007 (UTC)

No problem man...and besides if it wasn't for you, the script would still be huffed right now! --THE 19:36, 20 May 2007 (UTC)

Well, I've added a wee bit more to the script and started a "cast of characters" section, so every time we introduce a new character we can add them to the list and throw in one of the Smith people as their voice. --THE 19:20, 21 May 2007 (UTC)
