User talk:Hinoa/archive/5
Kick it old-school with Hinoa's Talk Page Archives! This archive dates back to 1 August 2006, and continues all the way up until 7 September 2006. Vandalism strictly prohibited here (duh). If you want to vandalize something, get a can of spray paint and tag some bathroom stall. Violators will be shot on sight. I have a banstick and I know how to use it. This page is only here because I am a packrat and can't bear to part with my old stuff. Anything here isn't current. If you have to leave me a message, do so at User talk:Hinoa. That's the page I pay attention to. You can return to my archive index by clicking here.

Just a quick one. The last Poo Lit Surprise was during my hiatus, so I have just one question. If I'm going for the Best Article category, do all the pictures in my article need to be my own too? Please let me know. Thanks, -- Sir C Holla | CUN 06:39, 2 August 2006 (UTC)

What's A Double Redirect...[edit source]
...and why did it get me, John1728, blocked? John1728 22:53, 2 August 2006 (UTC)
- A double redirect is simply redirecting a page to a redirect page. You redirected E=MC2 to Einstein, which is a redirect page to Albert Einstein. —Sir Major Hinoa [TALK] [KUN] 22:56, 2 August 2006 (UTC)
- Ah, I see. John1728 23:01, 2 August 2006 (UTC)
Thanks for the block![edit source]
Hey Hino Man/Woman, I appreciate you blocking me out today. Rightly or wrongly I now feel like a real part of the family. But, truth be told, I still feel like a bit of an imposter because I don't think I really did anything to earn it. After all, all I did was delete two paragraphs of outright racist, Jew-hating poison that didn't even bother masquerading as an UnNews story -- and only because I'm new here and had no idea which admins were on duty. Maybe I'm being too modest, but I think any decent human being would have done the same.
Just in case you think I'm a vandal or a megalomaniac, you might bear in mind the fact that I left my sig on the blanked page and I didn't delete the Benson vandalism on the Ask Cthulhu page. Had I been in your shoes (which I'm sure I never will be), I would have been tempted just to leave a message on my user page asking me not to do it again and pointing me to the proper channels. But that would have been nothing more than a slap on the wrist with a soggy tram ticket. Am I right?
In any case, now that we're going commercial, I think you'd best keep a close eye on UnNews. For instance, I don't think Volkswagen would be too happy if they had a big old ad on the front page right next to an UnNews story about how they used to use Jews for slave labour (by the way, I'm an athiest raised Christian with sympathies for the Palestinians. And the Israelis. And Jews in general. And Muslims in general. It's not easy, I gotta tell ya. And I especially like the Buddhists. And Germans are cool too).
Anyway, I've learned some lessons today. Does this get me banned again? -- Sir Armando Perentie KUN FP 14:49, 3 August 2006 (UTC)
- Armando, that (and I use the term loosely here) 'article' was indeed crap and I deleted it immediately afterwards. I think now that maybe 2 hours was a bit too harsh, but the point remains the same. Next time you see some shit that doesn't deserve to live—like the, ahem, "article" you mentioned—try QVFD. Sorry about that. —Sir Major Hinoa [TALK] [KUN] 16:36, 3 August 2006 (UTC)
Hey Hinoa4, no worries. Rest assured I won't do it again now that I know where to go. Sorry if I overreacted. I feel a bit sheepish. There are much bigger problems in the world than me getting banned from UnCyc for two hours. -- Sir Armando Perentie KUN FP 01:17, 4 August 2006 (UTC)

Question[edit source]
1[edit source]
Dearest Editor, I have noticed the brand you have placed on my Melvins page is quite frankly scarring her beauty. Seriously, myself and another anonymous user have worked pretty hard on the page, and think that you should read it since the august 5 run. Any Melvins fan or person who's heard of them would find humor in the article, and I'm working a lot of outside humor into the article as well. Considering the article has already recieved a number of visits, I think that the cute little page should find a home on Uncyclopedia.
Thanks for your time,
Little Jimmy (Orphan)
2[edit source]
I noticed I was blocked a couple days ago. Since I couldn't get in contact with anyone here, I went and e-mailed the webmaster (or someone like that), just to ask then if they could help me understand about the log. I hadn't realized I was banned a first time. This is what they wrote back
I will unblock you, but please contact Hinoa4 and/or Tompkins to discuss the
reasons for being blocked, before making any other edits. It does look
ambiguous to me.
I had been on here a few hours when someone left a mytalk message, asking me if I had contacted either you or Tompkins. (I had forgotten).
The only thing I can remember that I did wrong was take off about three paragraphs of "There is no god", and add a "you might be a fundamental atheist". Which I don't understand the problem, people make fun of Christians all the time. What's different? That is the only thing that somebody might get mad at.
If I have left anything out, please tell me.
Sincerely,
~maggierose
For the Love of God, please read HTBFANJS -uh, Maggie, not Hinoa-SomeoneWhoKnows
- And if you would kindly remove your knows from this, I'd appreciate it.
Anyway, where was I? Oh, yeah. Please keep in mind when I see three paragraphs gone from an article, my first reaction is "OMG VANDAL!" I didn't think it was anything major, so my block was only for 2 hours. To tell you the truth, I don't remember everything about this issue, save that your actions were reported on Ban Patrol. I was really hesitant about your block, though. Sorry for any inconvienence it may have caused, and I advise you to contact Tompkins about the second block. —Sir Major Hinoa [TALK] [KUN] 04:58, 7 August 2006 (UTC)
Okay, well thank you for your quick response. I will get in contact with Tompkins.
Delaware is unfunny[edit source]
That article is so unfunny. It is the worst article I have ever seen. Why do you want that n word of an article kept.Qhuncharr 02:05, 15 August 2006 (UTC)
- Hey Obvious Sockpuppet of Idiotz, you apparently haven't looked around the wiki long enough to see some of the truly horrid articles. If you want to see some, Category:NRV is a good place to start. Not only that, but considering I had to delete ten rather shitty articles of yours, I wouldn't trust your judgement of humor if it could save my life.
- And furthermore, I'm getting sick of your ban evasion. The 10 day ban was because I was a bit fed up with your crap posing as articles, but since you had to go about and create sockpuppets up the wazoo, I extended your ban to 40 days, and I'm seriously considering banning your main account until the end of UNIX time and your socks forever. Congrats on living up to to your name, Idiotz. — Major Sir Hinoa (Plead) (KUN) 02:13, 15 August 2006 (UTC)

Ok, I know this is way overdue, but better late than never. This page does not exist - its been recreated more than twenty times!--67.67.218.149 04:57, 21 August 2006 (UTC)
- The problem with CVPing that is that I need to create a redirect from that page to Uncyclopedia:CVP, which would create the article and thus miss the point of that article (or lack thereof). Good thinking, though! — Major Sir Hinoa (Plead) (KUN) 05:01, 21 August 2006 (UTC)

Well I'd like to know what I'm getting back. I had the entire article finished then I hit submit to find my article huffed. Oh and please :D KoB 23:19, 22 August 2006 (UTC)
- I've restored all the edits that were in the database to User:KoB/Hatebreed and removed the NRV tag that Sir Cornbread had placed on it. Hash Brown Speed Demon[edit source]
Demon on the huffer, aren't you? Just as I was pondering whether or not to give him a pocketful of ninjastars or a slap with a fish you blow him away. I really should get round to making an award for those who have pleased me.
- It would have been deleted faster if I hadn't had to type in the deletion URL manually. Incidentally, that's what warranted the resultant ban, not the article. — Major Sir Hinoa (Plead) (KUN) 09:30, 23 August 2006 (UTC)
I Do Not Wish To Be Punished[edit source]
Hi Hinoa, I <just> saw some award you posted on my user page Aug 1 (OK it was NOTM) and you noted it makes me a CUN...I can research the military ranking things, but what does this mean I can do? (With my sig, etc). Thanks--Shandon 15:22, 24 August 2006 (UTC)
- Check the Order of Uncyclopedia page. It makes you a Commander of the Order of Uncyclopedia (CUN for short). You can add that abbreviation to your sig if you want (like my sig with the OUN at the end). Oh, and the military things are totally seperate. — Major Sir Hinoa (Plead) (KUN) 18:47, 24 August 2006 (UTC)
The Brave, The Proud, and the Feud[edit source]
(From Forum talk:Vote for new admins) So anyway, I'd hardly call it a "feud," really. She was heavily involved in JohnnyRaven getting banned, but as it turns out she (and Codeine - shout-out, man!) did her a huge favor by doing that, though it didn't seem that way to either of us (i.e., "Johnny" and myself) at the time. A few weeks later (in February) there was a 2-3 day period during which certain people (ahem) were immediately joke-nominating practically every image Keitei was producing on UN:VFP, and when I wrote that I was going to vote "auto-against" all of them, she felt I was bad-mouthing her, as she put it. Around the same time, we disagreed on an image she wanted to use for an article called Moogawooga, and those two things led to a minor confrontation, in which I might have been a bit short with her (I'd been dealing with some frustrations elsewhere at the time). I apologized, and as promised I haven't appeared on VFP much since then, but the damage was done... Our only other interaction after that was on this Daniel Brandt menu thingy, though that was certainly no big deal in my opinion. In fact, I didn't mean any offense to her by any of that stuff, but since then I've just assumed that she or Dave G. (or Mhaille goes without saying) would probably veto any move to make me an admin. But I'd probably do a shitty job anyway, and besides, Sbluen, M.O., and Rei all deserve a promotion more than I do! I'd almost say Ghelae, too, but you're right, it would be a bummer if half the site just suddenly vanished without a trace one night. c • > • cunwapquc? 00:05, 30 August 2006 (UTC)

Could you unlock it? It's like only admins can edit it. Edits have been made but I don't know how because the page is still locked/protected.--Plissken 23:40, 5 September 2006 (UTC)
- The page is only semiprotected, which means that registered users can edit it--unless you've only been registered for less than three days. The reason it's semiprotected is that some idiots, usually from IPs, think just because he's dead it's okay to blank the article. (By the way, it's not.) I don't want to unprotect just yet, though. Zaphod[edit source]
The problem that I had with the redirect to the This Guy article was that the humour was in the redirection itself. It creates a bad precedent, encouraging other redirection based humour, which can quickly become rampant and be subject to abuse or overuse. Unchecked, it could create a lot of redirect pages and use up namespaces discouraging someone in the future from dismanting a redirect in order to write an actual article at that namespace. (I'm not the only sysop who deletes redirection based humour on sight.) --Ogopogo 23:56, 6 September 2006 (UTC)
