Afternoon[edit source]

Hi there Ggarfield. Looks like you're getting your head down and doing some useful work around here, thanks for that. But I was just wondering why you popped the VFD tag on a couple of recently created stubs? - These puppies belong in QVFD, and then VFD if the survive that (which I hope they won't!)

Genuine question in case you had a good reason for doing this. And thanks for helping out around here - keep it up! --Sir Under User (Hi, How Are You?) VFH KUN 14:32, 27 November 2007 (UTC)

Sorry, just a little trial and error. I stopped using the VFD when I found out how I could make a QVFD tag on an article. I will use QVFD from now on! Thanks for noticing my helpfulness! --Ggarfield 16:15, 27 November 2007 (UTC)

Evening[edit source]

Hya Ggarfield. As with underuser, appreciate the work you're doing. However, I'd stop for a while and try to get the hang of the maintenance work before going into this. A few pointers:

  • To nominate a page for QVFD, you need to post it there. The use of the template {{QVFD}} is not really doing the work, no one is using it.
  • I'd be very very careful with moving pages around until you're more familiar with the site. There is already when page written by an admin which you moved around, this might get you banned. Also, don't move pages which were ICUd. Either the writer fix them or they get huffed, if you moved them they might just sit around until kingdom comes and just take up space.
  • No need to put another tag on a page that has been already ICUd, One tag is more than enough.

Drop me a line if you need any explanations. Ciao. ~Jewriken.GIF 16:51, 27 November 2007 (UTC)

Did I really move a page made by an admin? I must not have though it didn't have much potential. OOps. Thanks for telling me that my QVFD tags weren't doing all they were supposed to be doing. In addition, I will use the moving feature sparingly, and only when I A)Know it doesn't stand a chance on the main space, and B)Think it has some potential. Finally, I will quit Nofuing the articles with ICUs, allthough Nofu is funnier than an ICU. --Ggarfield 16:56, 27 November 2007 (UTC)

Night[edit source]

Well it seems you've been told a couple of times about some of the maintenance work you've been doing, unfortunately it doesn't seem to be doing any good. I've seen you remove an ICU from an article and move it to the writer's userspace. That is what ICU is for. Hopefully the author will notice this and expand the article. I'm asking you to cease doing things like this as removing ICUs is a bannable offense. Also if you do continue I will revert you and report you to ban patrol. You seem to need to learn a little more about how our maintenance systems and tags work. If you need help learning this either me or the two users above seem very happy to help. Also I side note. Nofu doesn't do the same job as ICU, even if it is funnier it doesn't work. Thanks for your time :) BonSig.png (Bonner) (Talk) Nov 27, 16:59

Sorry, sorry. I told you I would stop removing ICUs and moving articles. I will, however, continue to QVFD the right way. I already said it wouldn't happen again, but believe me, it won't! --Ggarfield 17:02, 27 November 2007 (UTC)

Thanks. I appreciate it :) BonSig.png (Bonner) (Talk) Nov 27, 17:03

Midnight Snack[edit source]

Anyone for pretzels and beer? ~Jewriken.GIF 17:05, 27 November 2007 (UTC)

Haha, where do all you people live? it is 11:07 AM here, and I'm looking for breakfast. Haha! Beer for breakfast, why not? Pretzels, sure. Ice Cream? Even better. --Ggarfield 17:08, 27 November 2007 (UTC)

The Nature of Programmers - Why i've stopped moving stuff and removing ICUs[edit source]

I just thought that maybe I should clarify why I had been trying so many different ways to clean up. Like all programmers, I hate reading instructions (but I finally did), and I was just looking for the best ways to help. I now know to stay well away from ICUs and how to QVFD properly. I will only redirect stuff in the future on rare occasion and for good reason as long as it isn't in QVFD or ICU. Trail and Error works great for JavaScript, but i think it just pisses people off around here. (A.K.A:" OMG! WTF! This n00b keeps moving shit that we are trying to delete! Bastard!") --Ggarfield 17:16, 27 November 2007 (UTC)

Are you serious?!? You just added the grueslayer game to QVFD! you need to stay away from using QVFD for a while until you understand Uncyclopedia better -- Fou-Lu 20:58, 27 November 2007 (UTC)

I also just realized my mistake, and took it off. Don't be a boob. It looked like spam to me at first. --Ggarfield 21:01, 27 November 2007 (UTC)

And thats exactly why you need to learn what you are doing -- Fou-Lu 21:04, 27 November 2007 (UTC)

I imagine that within short order I will be a better user here than anyone to date other than Oscar Wilde. Now go talk to the fish, and save me the labour. I must be incognito, but its all becoming clearer. I'm overqualified to tag new articles, and I'd appreciate less flack. It was an honest mistake, and i don't imagine I'll make it again. I think I've learned fast. I'm also a fantastic writer, a programmer, and a super cool master of the universe. My proper title is, "Le monsieur Pierre Marie John Paul Graham de Garfield, le Marquis de Chequamegon. Does that convince you to stop trying to talk sense into me? --Ggarfield 21:12, 27 November 2007 (UTC) P.S.: Your flashing name is so not called for. Web developers everywhere consider annoying flashing stuff to be in bad taste.

Is this sig better? -- Fou-Lu 21:16, 27 November 2007 (UTC)
ROFL! Hush you. At least you made me laugh. I'll leave QFVD alone for a while --Ggarfield 21:18, 27 November 2007 (UTC)
That's a good start -- Fou-Lu 21:19, 27 November 2007 (UTC)
How do I change my Sig? It would be nice to know --Ggarfield 21:23, 27 November 2007 (UTC)

--User:Ggarfielf/sig You can ask anything else on my talk page if you want -- Fou-Lu 21:24, 27 November 2007 (UTC)

QVFD tags[edit source]

Well not really, I mean if someone wants to know if it's on QVFD they only have to check when they add it. Also most people here use javascript to QVFD which tells them if an article has been QVFD'd or not. I assume you have Firefox due to your mention of Javascript above. If so add this to User:Ggarfield/uncyclopedia.js

importScript('User:Mitch 1 2/QVFD.js');

It will add a QVFD button to the top right of your page. It looks like the buttons for edit, watch etc. Just remember not to QVFD an article that's over a week old. Also remember to sign your posts on talk pages and forums with four tildes (~~~~) :) BonSig.png (Bonner) (Talk) Nov 27, 17:56

Canadian Jesus[edit source]

I've lent a bit of a hand and spruced up the formatting, added a few links, and removed the terrible Russian Reversal at the end. Some of the jokes were spot-on, and it's surely long and properly formatted enough now to survive another deletion, but for the future, try reading through HTBFANJS when creating more articles. If you want to move it back into the mainspace, you officially have my blessing. :) --Littleboyonly.jpg TKFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFUJewriken.GIFCK Oldmanonly.jpg 23:11, 29 November 2007 (UTC)

Many thanks for your vote in The Color Problem[edit source]

Many thanks... Don't forget to update the "score" when you make a vote though, it does not do that for you automatically... For me, (and possibly only me) there is actually not any "genuine nonsense" in The Color Problem at all, it's all related to something, honest! The first paragraph is about a computer called "The Spectrum" which was one of the very first "colour" home computers over here in the UK. The Spectrum caused the colour problem you know... "Ranibow" was a kids TV show over here a while back... I guess it's rather British centric, but its good you got some of it! MrN MrN9000SouthParksmall.jpg 17:00, 1 December 2007 (UTC)

Ya did know it's about racism right??? I can't have got that one wrong could I??? Have fun. MrN MrN9000SouthParksmall.jpg 17:04, 1 December 2007 (UTC)

RE-Wire tapping...[edit source]

It's not bad. Just a little bit short on jokes for me at the moment I think... I will keep an eye on it though, I'm sure you can make it a "bit" better can't you? It's a good idea. How about using a TAP, you know the thing that water comes out of somehow? Just an idea, I'm obviously not an expert on humour! "Tapping up" means to "take from" over here, not sure it works where you are also.

Thanks for the comments re the mosaic... That's a good idea. I will see if I can work it in somehow...

I normally "watch" a talk page (for a while anyway) after I have added a note to it, so there is no need to reply on the persons talk page, just do it where they ask the question on yours. I think most people do this also, as it keeps the conversation together in one place, so if you want to reply to this message, do it here... Have fun. MrN MrN9000SouthParksmall.jpg 18:13, 1 December 2007 (UTC)

Hope that explains the "tapped-up thing" feel free to remove it, its your article really... Also, don't forget to sign your comments on talk pages with 4 ~ letters... ;) MrN MrN9000SouthParksmall.jpg 18:14, 1 December 2007 (UTC)

Speaking about signatures, how can I make my modified signature appear. I have gotten as far as user:Ggarfield/sig but it doesn't appear. What step am I missing. I think I will remove tapping up later, or fix it, as tapping up means nothing in America. Funny, isn't it? Do expression like pussy-footing, beating around the bush, and "having a cow" hold in Britain? I must know. Ggarfield 18:53, 1 December 2007 (UTC)
Sorry, dude, I have to go out now... You could try asking the person who put the welcome "banner" at the top of your page, that's kinda a thing saying that they are willing to help you, else I will be back later, and will help you then if your not able to contact them... There is also a "section" for people willing to help noobs. Someone there might help too. See Ya. MrN MrN9000SouthParksmall.jpg 19:08, 1 December 2007 (UTC)
