Was the site down? I couldn't access it for a day or so. UnholySauce 00:19, 23 Jan 2005 (EST)
Yes, the server crashed briefly before. Guys, PLEASE keep the main page sane. It's tempting, but I think I gotta rollback, there has to be somewhere where things make sense. --Chronarion 17:54, 2 Feb 2005 (EST)

I love how the "Sauron is Lord of the Dance" picture is still on the main page. I suggest it should be there FOREVER. I laugh every time I see it. --PantsMacKenzie 14:47, 3 Mar 2005 (EST)
I know we must "resist the urge to edit the header," but we must put the number of articles in there somewhere. For example:

Currently, I’ve moved it off the header since it queries the database more. I'll put it back when the traffic dies. --Chronarion 16:12, 11 Mar 2005 (EST)

Wikipedia
Would be nice to have a link to Wikipedia on each page, just like on Wikipedia to the same page in different languages. Saying that coz u might stumble on a page here where u really wanted to know what the concept is about -- or just to compare or even better: get more ideas of how to write the right truth :) 217.82.188.238brevity
- I disagree. I know that sometimes it would be useful to get the Wikipedia article, but I think having a direct link would cause people to copy-paste-parody (if you know what I mean) rather than use their own creativity. --Paulgb 20:39, 18 Mar 2005 (EST)

Generally, if the page gets really long, we remove some items from the Recent articles section and the "Write about" section. Generally, we haven't removed anything from the Featured section. Don't worry about it, one of us sysops will take care of it --PantsMacKenzie 13:38, 9 Mar 2005 (EST)

Highlights
Okay, clearly I’m biased as to what is a highlight and what is not. I'm trying to use a higher standard for highlights rather than stuff we've seen over and over again. Personally I find a lot of stuff excessively incoherent. I think that we should probably vote on highlights rather than simply addwar it? --Chronarion 23:37, 11 Mar 2005 (EST)
Is it possible to make that one section of the main page sysop editable only? And then, make a special page for adding to it? Like the VFD, but maybe Vote for Highlight? Don't know, just my two cents. --PantsMacKenzie 00:43, 14 Mar 2005 (EST)

Xena
Daughter of Pythagoras and Hilary Duff was Xena...the Warrior princess. Good, bad, mad, happy, bi, and many more words can describe. An extraordinary woman who alone has the ability to defy gravity and propel herself pretty much where ever she pleases, a secret gained by her dads extensive work with triangles...Every warlords fear her and dread the sound of that _peculiar_ war cry...aieeaieeeaieesheeeeeya, a guarantee that they're about to get their heads smashed in. Her sex appeal is never underestimated...I mean who can't resist a woman (barely) dressed in leather.
The key to her success, her chakram. A metal ring...similar to a Frisbee, which ricochets off anything and everything, eventually employing a boomerang characteristic of returning to her.
She has had many sexual relationships, with warlord scum, Hercules, even Julius Caesar himself. But who can forget the relationship she has with her blonde (ditz turned sexy) sidekick Gabrielle. Although they never openly revealed their relationship, it was obvious the two were lovers.
Xena has gained recognition for many of her achievements, but recently there’s been an arrest warrant issued for her 'violent' manner in which she deals with criminals. She was last seen jumping to extreme heights and pole-vaulting over Mt Everest. Though it has been quoted that she has plans to become complete ruler of the world and reinstate that all women must be leather clad and men should wear tight pants.

Nooo! Change is inherently evil! ...Well, actually the new layout looks pretty good. I'm not sure where the highlights went, but they were pretty arbitrary anyway. --UnholySauce 19:45, 24 Mar 2005 (EST)
This is excellent - as I commented while this layout was in beta testing, it looks much more like Wikipedia and hence we get +5 Parody, -2 Originality. Incidentally I think it might be worth sticking the "People" category on the list at the top of the page, as it's one of our most populous (and amusing) at the moment.--Machinecurse 11:30, 25 Mar 2005 (EST)
Protect
Since everything relevant is in templates now, I think we can lock the main page. Any ideas or objections? --stillwaters/Talk 16:11, 26 Mar 2005 (EST)
I would like to see it stay open, but I guess since there is not always someone watching the main page and stuff, protecting it the only choice if it becomes a problem. If we had enough people it would be nice to have it unprotected and just ban any ip that messes with it in a bad way. It would be great if it could be open only to logged in users, but I don't think that’s possible either. --Paulgb Talk 09:14, 28 Mar 2005 (EST)
- Hm, I see your point, though... there really isn't any good relevant reason to mess with the main page, really... Is there? --Chronarion 01:35, 29 Mar 2005 (EST)

Custom Logos
- Upon further investigation it turns out you apparently can't change a logo via javascript, but only via css. However, the css we were loading was offsite. So, I moved it onsite to one of the few places you can have it onsite, in a user's space: User:Elvis/memoryalpha.css (Elvis was the designer of the page). Then I edited it to show RC's logo, and changed the MediaWiki:Monobook.js to point to

- UnNews is too fertile a ground for evil little minds of the unwashed masses, like my own. I'm going to have to restrain myself. At least I didn't include any Pat Robertson quotes, which would earn me a second, longer, and even swifter ban from "Famine". He hates over-quoting, you know. --Cheese Sandwich 16:46, 2 Nov 2005 (UTC)

Yeh fix it up you scum bags. 1: IE/XP 2: no
I thought it was just because I never use Internet Explorer - but I get the same thing... It seems that the left side is too large and so the right side is placed over the top. (IE6/Win98 here)
This doesn't happen using my normal browser of Firefox. --theNonMaterialisticSheep 13:44, 1 Oct 2005 (UTC)

- Still seems to be wrong. The anniversaries section looks okay - it seems to have enough spacing on that right hand side of the text, whereas the featured article still has the text underneath the news section.
- --theRealSheep 11:45, 2 Oct 2005 (UTC)
I wish I could help, but I banished MS from all my computers two months ago, and thus browse with firefox only (well, I could use Konqueror) on a 19" LCD screen. And it all looks good to me. If it looks bad to you, please upload a screen shot and tell us the resolution and browser you are using, along with your sign and religion. -- 14:04, 2 Oct 2005 (UTC)
- I usualy use firefox (or NS 8) so I didn' notice, I could have sworn that I had fixed it but the problem seems to be back, the code looks OK so it would appear that it's IE being shit as usual, still not much use given the amount that IE is used we should try to fix it.--The Right Honourable Maj Sir Elvis UmP KUN FIC MDA VFH Bur. CM and bars UGM F@H (Petition) 15:04, 2 Oct 2005 (UTC)
Personally - I don't like IE either... Anyway - I think the problem I am seeing is with the {{Featuredarticle}} template which is creating a huge left hand margin (definately more than 1em margin - more like '3em').
Is this the same problem that other IE users are having? Or is it a just select few? (I would hope that it isnt all IE users, 'cause that would be bad...)
Does the featured article need such an extra indent? - Wikipedia does not use it. Although, I do see that it works fine in Firefox - giving just the '1em' left margin perfectly and non-overlapping tables.
--theRealSheep 16:27, 2 Oct 2005 (UTC) Win98/IE6/1024x760
- Now those were useful sshots & stats. Fantastic! On my screen, the image of the featured article lines up with the far left edge of the "O" in Today's, about 2 spaces to the left of where it's being rendered in that image. Nice diagnosis/diagrams. However, I'll let someone who remembers how to code HTML fix it, since I do it by trials and errors. ;) -- 16:36, 2 Oct 2005 (UTC)
- Thumbs up. Everything looks good now. Anyway - glad I could help... (gets back to trying to write something funny) --theRealSheep 18:27, 2 Oct 2005 (UTC)
Okay, now the front page is messed up for me (Opera 8/WinXP/1400x1050). The text goes through the featured article's image. It looks all right in Firefox though. --—rc (t) 19:31, 2 Oct 2005 (UTC)
I'm getting this problem again intermittently. It's not a big deal - if I resize my browser window at all the text rights itself (in more ways than one, ha ha ha), but I thought I'd bring it up again in case other people are having the same (or worse) problems. --—rc (t) 06:59, 13 Oct 2005 (UTC)

Your're the worst trolls I've ever seen
Make fun of Wikipedia. Sure, if the morons who wrote this knew how to make a good encylopedia such as Wikipedia, then you'd have something productive to work on. But no, mock a great source of knowledge. You're worse then the deletionists! -Canadianism (as 24.79.120.210)
- You are of course free to critique this webiste, which is a parody of Wikipedia and wikis in general. We realize that not everyone enjoys misinformation. However, many Wikipedia users with actual senses of humor come here, and enjoy the site. Despite its satrical nature, we do have rules, and enforce them. You blanked and vandalized Wikipedia, and since you obviously dislike this site and will never contribute meaningfully, you've earned an extended ban. --Splaka 22:54, 24 Oct 2005 (UTC)
- Uncyclopedia is hosted by Wikicities, which is managed by Wikia, which was founded by Jimbo "Wikipedia" Wales. We're only a couple degrees removed from Mr. Wales himself. Do you think we'd have found a host in Wikicities if our site was trollish and only existed to mock Wikipedia? I'm pretty sure many of the users here appreciate Wikipedia (I do). Now that you have some time off, get a job and buy a sense of humor. --—rc (t) 23:10, 24 Oct 2005 (UTC)

That is right, good sir. We are indeed worse than Deletionists - we're Creationists, going about and creating stuff. Yes, that's right, ALL THE TIME!!! God, do something about these people!!! THEY ARE CREATING THINGS!!!! I swear, that must be against a Commandment somewhere out there. As for the worst trolls, that I take issue with. We are very, very good trolls. Take a look at Allah if you don't believe me. Now that is precision trolling, I must say. 01:25, 25 Oct 2005 (UTC)

- You know, despite how much he praises Wikipedia as the best source of information out there, there is a lot of misinformation there.. And not the fault of those who run the site either. There are 40-50 edits in any given minute, and due to the sheer volume of the site, it's impossible for the staff to look at every edit, and they rely heavily on user input to fix those errors.. It isn't as big a problem here, because there are perhaps 10 edits at the most in a given minute, 20 on a busy day.--Vercalos 02:35, 2 Nov 2005 (UTC)
- They have 662 administrators and 544,788 registered users to watch about 1 edit per second. We have 40 administrators (about 20 active, and about 10 very active) and only 5811 registered users to watch about one edit per minute average (but up to 10 per minute peak). The administrators here take up a much bigger role than on Wikipedia, mostly because of the smaller size. As the user database grows, the fraction that are administrators can be less. --Splaka 02:49, 2 Nov 2005 (UTC)
- I'll use the best (worst) debating strategy here (considering this entire uncyclopdia is backward).

why women are evil
heres something i found on the internet that may ammuse some and may turn others in discust you've been warned.............
First, we assume that all girls take time and money.
Girls = Time x Money
Furthermore, we take the statement, "Time is money", and we get:
Time = Money
Girls = Money x Money
Girls = Money^2
Moreover, the statement, "Money is the root of all evil" means that:
Evil = the square root of money
Girls = (Evil)^1/2 (Evil)^1/2
which reduces to...
Girls = Evil
Ah hah! We have proof of the evil witches who are plotting the demise of the male population! Take that woman!
- Or it will bore us to tears since that's been floating around the internet since AT LEAST the year 2000. And probably far longer than that. 01:46, 16 Nov 2005 (UTC)
- Or there was uterly no reason to mention this here. --[[User:Nintendorulez|Nintendorulez | talk]] 15:15, 22 Nov 2005 (UTC)
- If all girls "take time and money," then it should be represented as "Girls = time + money," because the mathematical representation of "and" is addition. *victory lap* 67.176.6.159 07:00, 25 Nov 2005 (UTC)
Why?
So is this an inside joke or just the work of an overachieving troll?
- YOU'RE an inside joke! hehehehehe...wait...that doesn't make sense... So, what is this in reference to? Uncyclopedia? The Main Page? This thread? --Strong RadX 21:22, 22 Nov 2005 (UTC)
- It's in reference to the Main Page. Sorry for not being clearer. Doesn't really matter anyway. ==Peder 23:33, 22 Nov 2005 (UTC)

- Yeah - is this spam, or some joke I don't get?
- Are we talking about AAAAAAAAAAA thing? Because, yeah it's not funny.
- Fucking right! About time someone agrees with me on that one.
- Some trolls here seem to have very weird sense of humour. Adding "he is a robot from Mars" bullshit to every article in the "people" category is another example. There should be some sophistication, maybe even some connection to reality. That's what makes it funny. Personally I look to www.onion.com for inspiration. --Megus 19:34, 3 Dec 2005 (UTC)
