Gulag

From QuickVFD. Rewritten.

Rewrite --Rcmurphy 16:18, 15 May 2005 (EDT)

Rewrite- You had me until the "sews the seeds" and mention of "sweatshops" --Repairman Jack 11:50, 16 May 2005 (EDT)

<>s<>Psh.... Granted, the "preparation of Gulag Pie" section is horrible, but that doesn't seem grounds for deletion. I thought the first bit was rather clever when I wrote it, but if nobody else does I suppose I don't have any objections to it being deleted. --Spintherism 20:05, 16 May 2005 (EDT)<>/s<>

I rewrote it and took that nasty sneering Mr. T. off. It's much better now. (In my opinion, at least)--Spintherism 22:59, 16 May 2005 (EDT)

actually thought it was funnier before...ah well, this never should have been a candidate for deletion --slack 20:20, 18 May 2005 (EDT)

My theory is that it was put in quick VFD before I fixed it (as it definitely deserved to be), and certain people were overly eager in their humor nazism and weren't appreciative of my subtle and delightful wit. (Honestly though, I never have any idea if what I write is good or not; if you liked the "preparation of Gulag Pie," by all means, pull it from the history, and I'll spend time I should be doing french homework adding to it, but I'm personally unable to face any sort of criticism, and cannot, therefor be responsible for the resurrection of something that has been criticized) --Spintherism 22:37, 18 May 2005 (EDT)

I've checked the logs and you are correct article history indicates your first changes made at (01:38, 13 May 2005 Spintherism), QuickVFD diff (Revision as of 01:22, 13 May 2005 Carlb) was the update to QuickVFD this, a quarter-hour before you started rewriting it. Original article 00:03, 13 May 2005 80.232.198.178 was a one-line substub "Gulag eeerr Soviet Union Labour camp system (not sure how to explain this in english)" with no other content. I see no further need for this to be on VFD or QuickVFD. --Carlb 23:16, 18 May 2005 (EDT)

Rewritten.

I only really want to get rid of the last two paragraphs, as I don't think they add anything funny to the article. However, I have strong opinions on the subject, so I thought I'd bring it up here. --130.95.106.154 22:42, 10 May 2005 (EDT)

Rewrite Not my funniest work, but I thought they were funny. Someone can rewrite it. Apparently the pro-Evolutionists have no sense of humor, but instead a strong opinion? --Orion Blastar 10:39, 11 May 2005 (EDT)

Er, Dunno Er sorry am I missing something here, I can't see any problems with it (or anything to have an opionion about), can 130.95.106.154 please expand on his/her objections to it? Thanks --Elvis 11:56, 11 May 2005 (EDT)

Well I kept continuity with the Richard Dawkins entry and Evolution entry, as well as built on it, to provide exceptions to ID so it supports the previous paragraph. None of it is factual, as per Uncyclopedia guidelines. Only way it is not funny, is if the person reading it has a pro-Evolution bias, which I think is the case. In case it is not funny, it can be rewritten, and not deleted. --Orion Blastar 19:17, 11 May 2005 (EDT)
I have a pro-evolution bias. I stated as much. I think I'd pretty much admitted that that might be affecting my sense of humour. This is not to say that I don't find funny anything I disagree with. Of the articles you've written (that I've read), I particularly liked new math. It's just in this case, I didn't really see it.
Ignoring that the additions contradict what was there (which isn't a bad thing in Uncyclopedia) I suppose my feeling was that the two paragraphs you added were not of the same quality of those two lines that were already there. It kind of diluted it, turning a funny, if short article, into a slightly longer, overall less funny article. If it was a separate article on it's own, I probably wouldn't have mind. In this case, it just seemed a bunch of links to other pages done for the sake of linking to other pages.
I'll end this rant here before it turns into an essay, but I'll accept if my sense of humour on this issue isn't on par. That's why I put it up here in the first place.--130.95.106.154 06:18, 12 May 2005 (EDT)
Well I am glad you like New Math, I tend to write about many different things. Eventually there is something that I write that someone will like. Would you mind if I spun it off into a new article? New Intelligent Design or something? Then let someone else rewrite or delete this article? Thanks. --Orion Blastar 20:07, 12 May 2005 (EDT)

Unfunny jokes about bureaucracy

Kept, consolidated into Category:Unfunny jokes about bureaucracy. Improve - there's the germ of a good idea here, but it's spoiled by inconsistency. It should either present itself in a bureaucratic style, or should rant at bureaucracy, but not both --Goomball 07:40, 9 May 2005 (EDT)

Pimp Daddy Welfare

Deleted --Uvula Donor 10:52, 10 May 2005 (EDT)

I might be missing somthing, but what I get from the article and external link is this: Pimp daddy welfare is a real person, but his music is meant to be funny. He is not famous enough that I have heard of him, nor could I find a reference to him at wikipedia. I do like the line

His early childhood of drugs, alcohol, and elmo would corrupt any impressionable mind and make them evil. Pimp D. was no exception.

But thats the only thing I found funny. The song titles appear to be actual song titles. This page also seems to have some inside jokes, which is bad. --Paulgb Talk 15:23, 1 May 2005 (EDT)

Leave alone (Changed Vote) --Elvis 04:06, 29 Apr 2005 (EDT)

Merge I fired up a google fight on the two, and it seems that Cthulhu is the "winner" in terms of popularity. Cthulhu has promise and is properly stubbed. Cthulu needs to die. I vote to replace Cthulu with a redirect to Cthulhu. --Famine 21:35, 29 Apr 2005 (EDT)

I also tweaked the Cthulhu page a bit, because I liked the squid so much. Sorry about that. I haven't had calimari for a long time now... --Famine 21:57, 29 Apr 2005 (EDT)

Pae Do and Paedophile

I'm bothered about these articles. (a) because it's difficult (but not impossible) to make the subject amusing, and (b) because of the legal risk of listing people's names under 'famous paedophiles'. Overall they aren't tremendously funny, just a play on words. --Goomball 07:43, 28 Apr 2005 (EDT)

Keep Bear in mind that of the famouse peadophiles, 1 is a convicted child pornographer and the other two are fictional........--Elvis 07:54, 28 Apr 2005 (EDT)

Borderline - the red links in particular need to go - David Gerard 09:09, 28 Apr 2005 (EDT)

undecided How about getting the author's, Pantsonhead, opinion as this is getting into the issue of censorship. --Repairman Jack 09:53, 28 Apr 2005 (EDT)

However, two pages for this joke is one page too many, in my opinion. --EvilZak 19:04, 28 Apr 2005 (EDT)

The little Romanians are getting terribly restless. The last edit I reverted was along the lines of 'Romania is a European country' with a link to some facts about the place. All very nice, but I think they've missed the point of Uncyclopedia. From the page edit history I've traced 14 unique IP addresses from various locations in Romania. They must have some kind of club going on. --Goomball 10:37, 28 Apr 2005 (EDT)
