Suggestion for Requested sections
I was curious if anyone had suggested a Requested Images or Templates page ? I'd think it would be a logical choice for those who've seen interesting pictures that might make perfect additions to articles, such as the recent "Family Guy/Simpsons" picture [1] on this month's Mad Magazine, and are either unable to find or upload them. 70.88.218.145 17:59, 22 Sep 2005 (UTC)
- There's a Requested Pictures page, though that's mainly been used to request photoshopped images. No requested templates page that I know. Of. Of which I know. --—rc (t) 18:12, 22 Sep 2005 (UTC)
- Until such a section gets created (although most people could just create the templates they need, and then request someone improve it on that template's talk page), the best place probably would be at Uncyclopedia talk:Templates, I think? --Splaka 19:55, 22 Sep 2005 (UTC)

From the Sydney Morning Herald:
"It was with interest that I read about 'Talk-Like-A-Pirate Day' and was wondering if there were any links between that and those folk from the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster?" writes Bec Hopkins, of Randwick. "These folk believe the universe was created by a Flying Spaghetti Monster with His noodley appendage, and teachers of these beliefs must wear His chosen outfit, which is full pirate regalia." There could well be, Bec. Both schools of thought exhibit the highest intellectual rigour, and clearly have a common purpose.

Featured Article Template
Its overlapping with the news template, cutting off sections of the sentences in the featured article. Well on IE anyway. --Nytrospawn
- Ergh. Great. Think you could upload a picture of it? I changed the image coding on the template yesterday after Splaka found a way to link images directly with articles. That might be causing the weirdness. It looks right in Opera though. --—rc (t) 17:28, 17 Sep 2005 (UTC)

Main page format
I made some (mostly minor) changes to the main page setup here. Tell me if anyone doesn't like the changes. I'm also beginning to think the main page is too big and cluttered with boxes. I've been trying to, for want of a better word, harmonize the various elements of the front page. If you look at Wikipedia, their front page is pretty sparse and quite attractive to my eye. Unfortunately I don't know that much code, so I'm having a lot of trouble shifting things around without screwing up the format completely, so if anyone wants to step in and try to make things a little easier on the eyes, please go ahead.
I think one of the main problems is that the featured article/recent news/etc. section keeps getting too long. We might want to be a bit more diligent in cutting those sections back. --Rcmurphy KUN 23:37, 7 Sep 2005 (UTC)
- There isn't much there to really modify. All the "expendable" stuff is at the bottom, and thus doesn't make the page any more accessible if gone. Either we axe all the non-link stuff on the front page (Featured article, news, DYK, etc) or we have to force rigid limits on the lengths of those articles. I don't see another way of trimming this, short of killing all but one highlight box.
- And now looking at wikipedia, we match it closely, and all I can see changing would be to streamline our massive ramble at the top of the page. However, if we keep the featured image there and the same size, it doesn't make a difference, as I'm guessing the image size dictates the space we have for our welcome at the top. Dunno, dunno. But bare minimum we need to fix our intro. It's a little too clunky as-is. 00:32, 8 Sep 2005 (UTC)
- I may lose adminship for it, but I actually got off my ass (err, stayed on it, actually) and did something instead of just yap about it. I tweaked our help page, and streamlined the "read this first" stuff on the main page. It takes up less room, and I'm assuming that if people were ambitious enough to clickie-clickie before, they still will be. We'll see, I guess. The rest of my above rant stands. 00:45, 8 Sep 2005 (UTC)
- I thought about it, but I got too lazy to deop. --Chronarion 17:33, 11 Sep 2005 (UTC)
- I just hope you stay that lazy when you see the polish work I'm currently doing on the Wilde project. Killing/rewriting bad quotes, fixing formatting, etc. I've given up monitoring the Making up Oscar Wilde quotes page. I just swing by every month or so and delete all the really stupid-ass shit. Man, this is really anon-user work I'm doing. We need to get some more of those. -- 18:18, 11 Sep 2005 (UTC)
- I don't necessarily mean we need to get rid of anything, but I think trying to combine a couple sections (like how I combined the language and sista projects sections on the alternate main page) might make it look a tad less cluttered. Regarding the featured article section, I'm going to try to shorten up the excerpts a bit, and hopefully that will lead people to keep the DYK and News box the name length as the featured article box. Because of its format, though, I can't really shorten the current featured article any more.
- There's also an awful lot of bold and italicized text, which I find sort of difficult to read (although much of it is actually necessary). --Rcmurphy KUN 04:50, 8 Sep 2005 (UTC)

Corny Jebus
I believe Jebus died in something like 1931 A.D., so the date of his last corniess is wrong. Also, was Jebus corny at all. most modern Japusaians say no: he was born a man to die for our sins HOWEVER he neveractied human or had any normal emotions. This would be the vast loud group of fundamentalist Japusaians who have made it so you still can't rent "the Last Tempatation of JapUSA" at Blockbuster.
I have proof that Mr. Jebus was corny, because he did a comedy tour, vaudville style, in 1925, which was cut short because people tended to walk out of about 1/2 way through his performance.
- I am sure that while questions like, "Was Jebus ever really corny?" are encouraged here, in the context of the rest of your comment, I donae think anybody really gives a shee-yaht. And yes, modern Jebusologists confirm that Jebus was in fact quite corny, thus the hanging around with prostitutes. --210.246.30.52 05:26, 29 Aug 2005 (UTC)

Seconded. However, Mr. T is equally unfunny. So is Oprah, a kitten, Jackson, Bush, a monkey, or anything else that people call "funny" that ends up in 70% of horse-beater shitty articles. Sheep 15:44, 2 May 2005 (EDT)

Just keep the retarded image on the alternate page and make the "real" main page imageless. Elvis is right about the imageless version making the main page look more like Wikipedia and less like a two-year-old's Geocities page. --Evice 18:53, 2 May 2005 (EDT)
- Unfortunately, I am a two year old, and this is hosted on geocities. No, not really. But neither am I a pothead, and I would recommend that those of you that claim not to be, phrase your arguments in a more eloquent fashion. I am open to another vote on the issue, however, name calling will not be tolerated. Words such as 'retarded' are unnecessary and do not help to stress your point. Please open a vote in the community portal if you wish to replace or remove the image present. --Chronarion 01:21, 3 May 2005 (EDT)
- The front page would be far more interesting with some dynamic interest. Everything else is dynamic, why not the 1st picture you see when you hit the site? Maybe 5 people voted for the immature looking Sauron picture, but what about the 100's of people who visit the site that might find it somewhat skittles-esque and outdated? Let people change it and add to the interest of the website. --user:anon
- Open a vote on this, and if it passes, i'll go with it. Personally I don't feel that an audience that would have their personal taste threatened by a goofball picture would make a good match for the site anyway though, but vote if you will. You may wish to read the old vote, there's more than five users there.--Chronarion 02:06, 3 May 2005 (EDT)
- ...But it certainly isn't the whole site. Polls such as this should be exposed to the public, just as with the picture in question. --Evice 23:28, 3 May 2005 (EDT)

- I really can't force people to vote, you know? So all I can do is go by whoever votes. It IS a public poll. It's right underneath the picture, there's a link. --Chronarion 17:42, 5 May 2005 (EDT)

Constantly Vandalized Pages
The page is pretty self-explanitory, but the policy isn't official so I was wondering what people think? --Paulgb Talk 15:04, 2 May 2005 (EDT)
- Being a relative newbie and needing the writing therapy Uncyclopedia provides, it's beyond me why users feel a need crap all over the place by vandalizing pages. --AnalAlien 21:15 2 July 2005 (EDT)
- What's the point of locking templates and the main page? Seems Uncyclopedic, especially since nothing from the Uncyclopedia:Beta page is ever implemented. --Evice 18:54, 2 May 2005 (EDT)
- This is incorrect. I believe you are referring only to the sauron image and distorting the truth to fit your argument. Although this is encouraged everywhere else, it is not on the talk pages. It is protected in a similar reason to wikipedia, that is, vandalism leaves a very bad impression on the main page itself. Particularly an issue is wikispam, which typically uses the mainpage as a target.
- I was mainly referring to Template:Stub and Template:Wrongtitle, which are 100% public on Wikipedia. --Evice 23:35, 3 May 2005 (EDT)
- And it would help if you would sign your posts, mmkay? --Evice 23:36, 3 May 2005 (EDT)
- The main page was protected after getting vandalised multiple times. I think we had a vote. Protecting the main page made sense because everything that would need to be changed was in templates. Things from Beta have been moved on to the main page lots of times. If you are referring to Sauron's removal, we need a good vote before somthing so extemely devistating is to happen. Some templates, like stub, are protected, which I disagree with but I don't want to unprotect it without a bit of discussion first. --Paulgb Talk 21:22, 2 May 2005 (EDT)
- Templates are protected mainly because I don't feel it's necessary to allow user access to to things like Stub, which are factual in nature, rather than nontruthful. If a particular template really wants to be unprotected, vote on it, and a sysop can oblige.--Chronarion 01:24, 3 May 2005 (EDT)

Should there perhaps there should be an ignorable policy, asking readers to, if possible, stay consistent with other saga-level stuff?. Something like:
Be consistent
If you make an article referring to one of the below topics, please try to be consistent with existing information, for the sake of humour: Oprah Oscar Wilde Whatever crap you want
Eh
This stuff is funny, so, if you can, stay consistent, but we don't reall care: Again, whatever crap you want

- I swear I didn't do it. it was all RCM. Take him out and shoot him for this travesty. If you can still see. I think my eyes are bleeding. --Famine 23:27, 31 Aug 2005 (UTC)

Kill the Sarxx has the most production facilities, the widest network of distributors, the best support team, and the best product. In fact, Kill the Sarxx is the only method for Absolute Flesh Destruction (AFD) that provides a solid-to-solid attachment for all bloody appendages (arms, feet, even ear lobes). Front Page Image
That's my Razorglove there, that is. But does that count as a featured image? If so, I claim my CUN badge and cuddly toy -- Codeine 08:56, 1 Sep 2005 (UTC)
- I don't think they give out cuddly toys for that... This was used for the flying spaghetti monster feature article tempate last week, and all I got was a bronzed spork. *sniff*. --Splaka Bur. SG CM © 09:31, 1 Sep 2005 (UTC)
- Ah well, never mind. It's all for the glory of Uncyclopedia, not my own. -- Codeine 10:12, 1 Sep 2005 (UTC)
Fake Pages
Just because The Fox and the Hound Steal Money is deleted doesn't mean I can be blocked. RyanCahn
- No need to be paranoid. No one's gonna block you unless you act like a dick (blank pages / spam rubbish everywhere / fuck with the admins). Or unless they just feel like it. -- Codeine 23:09, 1 Sep 2005 (UTC)
XHTML
Uncyclopedia's Main Page is not XHTML-compliant, but Wikipedia's is. I created Main Page/XHTML as an XHTML-compliant version, but it's still not valid.
For it to be truly XHTML-compliant, the Stillwaters, Chronarion and "Some rights reserved" images' <img> tags must be closed (<img src="..." />) and an alternate text ("alt" attribute) provided for the latter. - Guest 15:35, 15 Sep 2005 (UTC)
- Okay, it's now almost XHTML-compliant. But someone de-XHTML'd Template:Featuredarticle :(. The correct version is here: Template:Featuredarticle/XHTML. - Guest 06:42, 25 Sep 2005 (UTC)
