GEneral question abuot wiki stuff

I am not sure how to communicate with other users. Like just now, a message came up on my page saying 'ive got mail' but if i reply to your comments, ON MY PAGE, do you get a notification that I have edited it ? Can you see that? I guess this is concerning if several people are editing a section, and I want to talk to them or do they all get a notification if anyone edits something? okay thanks ^^ if you steer me in the right direction i would be appercSquarepush3r 20:05, 11 July 2007 (UTC)

No, I do not get such a notification. The "You Have Mail" banner only happens for edits to your talkpage. You can, however, add pages to your watchlist (by clicking "watch" at the top of the page). This list will show edits made to all the pages on it in a nice layout and what not. The watchlist is probably what you are describing. -- The Zombiebaron 20:12, 11 July 2007 (UTC)

I'm not sure what your talking about. You seem to have been able to edit my talk page just fine, aswell as editing both your signature, userpage, and the userpage of your old account. All of your edits (while few, I will admit, but you only registered your current account today) seem to point to an ability to edit. If you could explain the problem (maybe link me to a page that you can't edit?) I could probably diagnos it much better. Famine has set his talk page to be edited only by users who have been users for a certain amount of time. This keeps IPs from bugging him, but it also means that users who have only recently registered can't talk to him. Hey! It's me again! If you answer this, I promise I won't harrass you for a week. Maybe.

I intent to write a collection of Poems on UnPoetia. A decent poet, I plan to write poems on disturbing subjects (Ode to a dead puppy) and fumbles for a rhyme (Discombobulate with Mortality Rate). That's not the problem. I want to cash in on the topic. For example, writing my user page as a poem, poems thanking helpful users, and poems expressing impatiance with IPs that don't take hints that their 'work' is vandalism.

But the problem lies in the fact that I can't use the poems without obvious vanity violations. May I pretty please include my name in the introduction as the author, and get away with this? To aid your decision, I'll write you a poem:

Roses are red,
Violets are not

Alright, this is the skinny. Some article are alright as vanity. But it is a very thin line. For example, Unpocalypse walks the line, while Zombiebaron (were there such an article) does not. So, you could write a collection of poetry and include "An Ode to Zombiebaron" in it, but it would have to fit in with a general theme. Also, as to you including yourself as the author, this is a wiki. What you could do is create something like "A Collection of Rare Poems by Oscar Wilde", or "The Fantastic World of Poetry", and not have to worry about who the author is. Although, that Oscar Wilde one might turn some people off, because as of late "The O Man" hasn't been getting the respect that he deserves.
