At Uncyclopedia, writing articles is not a requirement, but it certainly is a fun and easy way to express your creativity. To write an article, it's recommended that you start it in your userspace (for example, User:Tritefantastic/Article about stuff) so you can edit it at your leisure. If you decide to create it in the cold world of mainspace, make sure it is in accordance with the policies laid out above, and if you're not done put the "Work-In-Progress" template - {{construction}} - onto it as well.

If you need help, ask me on my talk page, ask at the Dump, or ask an administrator on their talk page. Additionally, the Uncyclopedian Adopt-a-Noob program is there to bring experienced editors straight to you. Simply put {{adoptme}} on your Userpage to join. Again, welcome!

Keep it

Keep your template, just make it prettier with a boarder and a colour or something. We don't really care about licensure or crap like that. We have templates for a lot of stuff, mainly pictures, but who cares...-- Sir Severian (Sprich mit mir!) 16:08, 18 September 2006 (UTC)

Things you shouldn't put in your mouth template

I don't know if the above section refers to this, but I believe that while wikipedia's licence doesn't allow uncyc stuff to be used on there (we're CC by NC-SA, meaning the content is not allowed to be used commercially, and wikipedia content must be able to be used commercially), it's fine the other way round, so it's perfectly OK to use wikipedia stuff on here. Besides, I can't see anything that the licence could apply to in that code, it's just a standard wikitable, which I'm very sure are allowed! I'll go ahead and re-add them to the pages they were on if that's OK, seeing as the licence stuff seems the only reason it was taken off, and as it's pretty funny and makes a good way for readers to get to other good articles. • Spang • ☃ • talk • 00:46, 19 October 2006 (UTC)

Regarding quotes in The Prisoner

Hello. I noticed that you reverted the quotes I added to the article The Prisoner. My rationale for including those quotes was that I was merging content from the VFD'd page Number 6 (which has now been replaced with a redirect; see Uncyclopedia:Pages for deletion/archive48#Number 6). Hi Tritefantastic, UU here in answer to your question on my talk page. Yes, I did read the article, but sadly, I don't think my vote will be forthcoming. I appreciate that it is a well written piece, and having viewed the Wikipedia article, I can appreciate both your point and your intentions. The thing is, sense of humour/humor is a subjective thing, and I'm afraid I just didn't laugh at the article, which is the main criteria I apply when voting for highlight. If I was voting based just on prose and observation, it may have been different, but Uncyc is about making people laugh. Looking at the votes, it did make other people laugh, so I guess either my sense of humour is out of tune with quite a few people, or I still missed something! (And in case you were wondering, I do feel a bit hypocritical making such comments when I haven't written anything that would merit even a single for on VFH myself!). Thanks for your Pee Review

The subject line says it all, but because I feel the need to take up space I'm going to repeat it. Thanks for reviewing Ode to the Monotony of Life, good improvement advice is sometimes hard to come by in there... I'm reworking bits of it now and I have to say the middle runs smoother. And I've somehow managed an image. So I'll probably be re-submitting it for (hopefully) a final tally soon. But anyhow, just wanted to thank you.

I appreciate that you took the time to read my article, even if you didn't like it much. I'd just like to point out though that "granary" is an adjective in certain contexts (it's the word used in the UK for what we in the US call whole wheat). Thank you for your UnNews, I especially enjoyed the one about the cell phone in Iraq, as I read them all because I'm the all important UnNews editor. Your last one is well-written, but I just don't get it, I think there could be more jokes per square inch or am I totally missing the concept? I moved it here: User:Tritefantastic/UnNews:"This Might Be Giant," say Lincoln Police. I'm don't want to be rude or anything and nobody was available to give me a second opinion, maybe it needs a little polishing on the humor side? Please don't bash Ron Paul in your upcoming UnNews :S. He's not getting his fair shake in the media, but he has a rabid base of supporters, and his campaign is funded by the people, (small donors) not the banks. He's the most honest politician I know, I've been following him since I stumbled onto him (on the net lol) in 2007. To me, all the other candidates are crap since he's the only one who'd bring the soldiers home immediately after getting elected. I'd be very sad to put an article on the front page bashing him, but of course if it's fun, then I'd do it... I'm so Freedom of Speech and all! ;) Here's an article I wrote a while ago about the media bias against him, if you want to read.
