Against: 1
  1. Reluctantly against - it's really smart, quality writing, but I don't find it very funny. Why? Undoubtedly, it's because I haven't read Finnegan's Wake. And that's the problem - neither have, I'd guess, ninety-nine and a half percent of the people who stand any chance of seeing this. I'd like to see this quasi-featured; I'd like to see it win some kind of award; but I don't like it for the front page. --Hyperbole 22:56, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
  2. Against, in the manner of Hyperbole. Alas, the humor will be wasted on the masses. --by Dr. Fraktur, the neighbourhood chiropractor talk projects 02:00, 8 July 2008 (UTC)

  • In all fairness to Hyperbole, you don't have to understand a word of Joyce's epic to find this funny. If you just didnt find it funny, fair enough. But Winnegan's Fake is a deliberate misnomer, as the opening paragraph points out (as well as being an obvious pun). --Knucmo2 00:00, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
  • Abstain. Really well written and clever and so forth. But I didn't really find it funny and I don't know why. I actually wish I did like it more than I do. So although I quite admire it, I can't vote for. Sorry. --SirU.U.Esq. VFH | GUN | Natter | Uh oh | Pee 09:39, Jun 4
  • To Hyperbole: Not even people who have read Finnegans Wake have read Finnegans Wake. Trust me. Find some of it online and try to read more than three lines without gouging your nose off. -- §. | WotM | PLS | T | C | A 07:15, 23 June 2008 (UTC)
  • This nomination should have been closed ages ago. --Knucmo2 09:46, 8 July 2008 (UTC)
    • There's a rule about how many articles are up for voting, and whether it has votes, and lots of other stuff. Anyway, the point is, it isn't closeworthy yet.   Le Cejak <12:55, 08 Jul 2008>
      • Sorry, I had no idea there were such rules, other than the health thingamabob. --Knucmo2 18:14, 8 July 2008 (UTC)
