I think that there are far too many crappy headlines that link to crappy articles on the front page on a consistent basis. These headlines have as much exposure as featured articles, which must earn their way with the respect of quality Uncyclopedia contributors. I think that we should have a loose judgment policy where admins (such as I) can cut out terribly unwitty and unclever headlines like "Snowboard Accident Kills Five|in Park City, Utah" that more likely thank not link to awful articles. So far, it seems like only Savethemooses has much to say on this topic, but no real solutions have been presented IMHO. Until we have some kind of concensus, I'm going to avoid editing this template unless some particular article screams to me for exposure. I take the point that this template should show only articles of ay least near-Feature quality. Unfortunately, the UnNews biz is unpredictable in terms of quantity and quality of submissions, plotted against the relentless movement of day following day. For my part, I try to make the best of what I get in my limited capabilities. I will monitor this topic for input and amusing anecdotes. Cheers! Rev. I kinda liked mine (c&p warning) - if the story being reported on is current, but that article isn't great, and there's no alternative to replace it with, either make it better or write a better one, as the story itself should be mentioned. If however, it's bad and not based on a current news story, it should be removed until it's better. Obviously good non-current ones are fine.

So, normally it should feature the best we currently have, except if there's a story that should be there due to current-ness, just isn't that great. • Spang • ☃ • talk • 06:52, 01 Oct 2007
