The "mark as voted on" doesn't work - it reverts once you leave the page. Slithy Tove 06:34, 16 July 2007 (UTC)
- What browser are you using? I think it doesn't work well in IE, I'll look into hiding it from that. Definitely works in FF though. • Spang • ☃ • talk • 04:42, 16 Jul 2007
Yes, I have IE Slithy Tove 07:04, 17 July 2007 (UTC)
- Ok, I've removed it because it only works in firefox, due to the way other browsers handle visited links and some css. Badly. I might put a link for firefox users to enable it for themselves, or use a small script to do it automatically. • Spang • ☃ • talk • 04:23, 17 Jul 2007

Do we still feature articles with like 10/11 votes? Is there a minimum number of votes to get? -- 14:19, 11 April 2008 (UTC)
- It almost seems like there should be... if we keep getting too few votes I'm just going to feature Euroipods again. - P.M., WotM, & GUN, Sir Led Balloon (Tick Tock) (Contribs) 23:00, Apr 11

- 65% of VFH nominations fail. And that's because generally only good articles are nominated in the first place. Also, for every article we have, wikipedia has 120. But you know what? None of them are funny! I don't know how they get featured at all! • Spang • ☃ • talk • 04:25, 15 Jun 2009

Votes not registering[edit source]
I've voted on a few articles using the floating vote box on their respective pages and none of the votes are showing on the nomination pages. This is especially strange since I was able to vote using the exact same method yesterday. Is it a browser problem, something weird with the site, or just something else I'm missing? (I'm using Chrome if that's significant, though as I say I've been able to vote recently.)
Thanks, --StupidBunny 21:51, March 2, 2011 (UTC)
- Addendum:I voted directly on the nomination page and my vote showed up in the list; however, as soon as I refreshed the page or navigated elsewhere it disappeared again. --StupidBunny 23:22, March 2, 2011 (UTC)
Really?[edit source]
No offense, but you don't absolutely need to semi-protect every featured article, DO YOU??? -- This has been an automated message by Cute Zekrom (talk) 23:30, April 28, 2012 (UTC)
- That was a decision made in 2011 I believe. Article rot and attacks on featured pages were increasing, or not being covered (in Austalia?), and it made sense to semi-protect every featured page (although it doesn't seem to be automatic, I had to revert an IP on Frankly Disappointing Telescope). Features are kind of our showcase attractions here, except for the fapping pics, and any help on bringing them back to their feature glory is one of our important functions here, imnho (lots of them have quotes added which are really stupid an nofunny). Aleister 23:35 28-4-'12
- I don't think it's such a great idea because soon every article will have been featured at least once and every article will be protected and the IPs will have nothing to do here in the mainspace. It'll be just like Bulbapedia (well, almost) where you can't do ANYTHING unless you're a member. -- This has been an automated message by Cute Zekrom (talk) 23:42, April 28, 2012 (UTC)
- Maybe. But even the few features we have (has it reached 2,000 yet?) should be protected and cleaned up to "great" status. The people who check out random feature might be discouraged if they can't correct a spelling mistake or put in a great joke they just thought up (Why did Hitler kill his parents? So they wouldn't be around to see their son do in millions of people! hahahahahahaha. Hmmmmmmm. When did his parents die anyway, and from what - ominous music), but a few real good ones will join up just for the chance to do that. Yes, you guys working on a sign-up message are doing a good thing. Aleister 23:48 28-4-'12

I got an idea[edit source]
Instead of making too many articles Featured, we should instead nominate them as "Good Articles" (WP:GA) then pick articles out of those to be Featured big time. Good Articles wouldn't be protected because most of them are second rate at the least and good at the most. -- This has been an automated message by Cute Zekrom (talk) 02:10, April 30, 2012 (UTC)
Table[edit source]
Any chance we could replace the prettytable with a wikitable? It's kind of lame how things don't sort properly.... --Leverage (talk) 13:09, 16 January 2013 (UTC)
- Done, though I dunno how that would affect sortability. Is it any different now? And really we should replace all the prettytables with wikitables. -— Lyrithya ༆ 15:42, 16 January 2013 (UTC)
- Cool. you guys will know more than me, but this gave me the impression there was the chance to specify the sorting system a little, it seems to work on my user page. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:Table#Sorting Leverage (talk) 20:12, 16 January 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks Leverage, that's what I meant. Perhaps tables that are sortable could have some special feature to display that they are sortable? Otherwise users may not realise they are sortable. If you know what I mean. --ShabiDOO 04:06, 30 January 2013 (UTC)
- Hey Shabi. The weird thing is I tried tinkering with the code in my user space... here if you fancy a fiddle yourself]. The problem is, some things we can change (I Made the days unsortable for example, because they weren't sorting properly). but the other columns are acting weird, possibily because they are like 9 (7/2) as opposed to a simple number. I asked in irc, and zombiebaron mumbled something about DPL. That stuff is beyond me. What I guess is, it's a code that is calculating the vote and introducing it to the table, and for whatever reason, the result is not sortable. Leverage (talk) 07:56, 30 January 2013 (UTC)
