Forum:My links at the top are screwed
As you can see, Wikia's done something, and as usual, they did it wrong. I want my old links back. In particular, my watchlist, now annoyingly called "followed pages," is garbage. This must not be. • • • Necropaxx (T) {~} Wednesday, 08:52, Sep 8 2010
- Yeah - where's my "edit watchlist" link, Wikia? Eh? EH? --UU - natter 09:08, Sep 8
- Yeah, and I like how it isn't at all functional. "OH LOOK! THESE ARE THE PAGES YOU IZ FOLLOWING! TRY TO GUESS WHICH ONES HAVE CHANGED RECENTLY! OH WAIT U CAN'T! LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!!" Fucking shit... MegaPleb • Dexter111344 • Complain here 09:11, September 8, 2010 (UTC)
- Agreed. Manually typing the URL for Special:Watchlist is a pain in the ass, and will probably make the site unusuable for me when accessing it from my phone.
- Well I think we all agree we're looking forward to Wikia putting our shit back the fuck where it was. Now lets all sit here and wait til it gets done. -- Sir Mhaille (talk to me)

- They also seem to have removed the sighidden function, as my sig sadly illustrates. SOCKY ANGRY! SOCKY SMASH!
- I do love it when developers get to change stuff that in their infinite wisdom they presume to be "useful" without actually asking the users or seemingly doing any research to see how functionality is actually utilised by said users.....maybe asking the community for their opinion before instigating a major change? -- Sir Mhaille (talk to me)

Choices
Another glitch. When I search for links of article names, or categorize a page I usually type [[Category: or the [[First word of the article, and the list appeared underneath it, very close to the typing. Now it is wayyyy at the bottom, and much of the list is hidden because of the "new" placement. This was one of the things I liked best about our wiki, the ease of finding links. Now that has been played with by some new kid trying to earn his oats on Wikia. Aleister 17:01 8 9

- VFH, the rating bar, etc., look fine now, but the watchlist link is still not where it needs to be. I click on that thing a hundred times a day!
- That is a result of a change to MediaWiki, the only way to make it like it was is to code some javascript to replace it at runtime or... wait till Wikia fix it (assuming this is even a bug and not in fact intentional) - and when I say "intentional" I mean "was intended to apply to us", because there's no two ways about the fact that Wikia deliberately replaced that link. -- Prof. Olipro KUN (W)Anchor Op Bur. The best workaround I've found
If you have a look at my user page, at least this way my watchlist is just two clicks away. Not as good as one, but it's the best I've come up with. 17:27, September 8, 2010 (UTC)
- So whenever we want to access our watchlist we have to visit your userpage? Cool. --Black Flamingo 17:29, September 8, 2010 (UTC)
- Um, in case that's not a joke, I'm suggesting you stick the same link on your own userpage so you can click the "Black_flamingo11" link at the top and then the "My watchlist" link on the top of your userpage. 18:01, September 8, 2010 (UTC)
A better workaround
GO HERE and edit the page then insert the code below:
document.write('<script type="text/javascript" src="' + 'http://uncyclopedia.org/index.php?title=User:Olipro/fixwatchlist.js' + '&action=raw&ctype=text/javascript&dontcountme=s"></script>');
To be honest, I'm tempted to stick it in the site Javascript and tell Wikia to shove it. Oh and as ever, CTRL + F5 and/or clear your browser cache -- Prof. Olipro KUN (W)Anchor Op Bur. (Harass) 17:30, September 8, 2010 (UTC)
